Family Values are alive and well given their wonderful support of Sarah!

Unlike the Democrats who want to TAX US TO DEATH, and use Bullying tactics, and trash all American women. They support a candidate with ties to known felons. Obama;s best friend is now in jaiil.

Aren't you just elated she had her "witchcraft demons" exorcised out of her? Can you say "Dark Ages"? Rev Wright is nothing compared to this Palin's voodoo witchdoctor, by the way the exorcism obviously DIDN'T work too well........................he should start a new "church" with McCains "Reverend Hagee", they're birds of a feather..........

As if the GOP hasn't had it's share of scandals, there's been so many, we've lost count, please try to remember not preach "family values" from a mensroom stall in MInneapolis, and make sure your mail prostitute is trustworthy enough not to turn you in. McCains "preacher" hates the Catholic Church, but you people seem to conviently overlook these outrageous scandals. The rest of us will remember every single on of them, in fact, it looks like there's no end in sight when it comes to their hypocrisy.

      • Posted By: anti-pious hypocrite watcher @ 09/15/2008 6:45:23 PM

Your family "values" are obsolete. It's a transparent cover-up for war, poverty, corporate greed & machine guns on our streets. The Ameican public will not fall for this sham anymore. Get a life! It's easier for you reactionaries to HATE than to UNDERSTAND!

This new "mega church" conservative Christian movement is undermining what this country is all about ... separation of church and state. They put Bush in the White House and are actively supporting this war as God's Will (Palin sure supports that idea!). Regular Americans need to wake up. Take a look at the documentary movie by an ex Catholic Priest called "Constantine's Sword" which shows what they are doing...how they are infiltrating the military with their fanatical religious fever for war by trying to convert everyone to their faith and world view. Please wake up if you really believe in what Jesus taught. It wasn't what these people are selling during their entertaining musical Sunday events.

'separation of church and state' Here is another example of a misquote of the constitution. Ignorance is not bliss. What the constitution does say is, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." I reckon the liberal crowd sure doesn't want God or any Christian principles influencing their life. This country would be MUCH better if we would live with righteousness. Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people. QUIT YOUR SINNING!

      • Posted By: anti-pious hypocrite watcher @ 09/23/2008 7:48:32 PM

No, we just don't want people like you preaching to us, I guess you're without sin. Your extreme "values" are fine for you, but they're definatley not for the rest of us Americans

    • Posted By: randallvar @ 09/09/2008 8:48:56 AM

by the way what Jesus taught is recorded in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. He taught "ye must be born again." Jn. 3. He taught, "go and sin no more" Jn. 8. He taught that there is a place where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched. He taught that unless you believe in Him you will die in your sins. Jn. 8 Hope this will help. :-)

Mega-"church" people are horrible, there so similar to Adolf Hitler's rallies during th 30's, trying to legitimize intolerance and hatred. At least the Germans didn't use the money for personal mansions and limousines. It's hilarious how their "memebers" always forget their ridiculous scandals, probably because the right-wing media tends to bury them by being paid off by the "pastor"or "reverend" or whatever jerk is in charge.

I am so tired of the intellectual dishonesty displayed in so many of these "analysis" pieces regarding abortion. The values of ending abortion and upholding the traditional nuclear family are most certainly not in tension. The availability of legal abortion is most certainly not necessary to accomplish the achievement of healthy, self-sustaining two parent families. Valuing the inherent sanctity of human life in its proper context, and valuing the inherent sanctity of marital love that facilitates healthy, self-sustaining families is what is necessary. We need to teach our children that cheapening human life through the wanton destruction of abortion further destroys the fabric of our society. Part of becoming a responsible adult is mastering sexual desires just as much as we need to master all of our other emotional and physical desires. We are human beings with complex and highly developed intellectual, emotional and spiritual capacities. We are not mere animals driven to breed. Opposing abortion and promoting healthy, self-sustaining two parent families are two inseparable values, not incompatible ones

I will vote for McCain/Palin because of their verbalized values and their example by actions. I do not like Obama, he is a racist. He is not honest and he is empty! I am so sick of liberal people. You are the most disgusting creatures on earth! Why don't all of you leave and create your own nation instead of trying to ruin this one! Leave!!!!! Leave!!!! Leave!!!!!

  • Posted By: mcgreen @ 09/20/2008 11:12:18 AM

I'm with you Payne - I've no idea why McCain apparently thinks five year olds don't deserve education on being safe from sexual predators.

I sure hope people are paying attention to this, our children are our most important asset for the future. Ignore them and we put the future of our country at risk.

I'm voting Obama for the children's sake.

  • Posted By: Payne23 @ 09/20/2008 1:00:11 AM

Family values means, and I summate, being able to nurture and care for the children you facilitate bringing into this world. It would be ideal if all children have this environment but many don't. To deny this fact is stupendously naive or grossly self serving, i'm not sure which. Abortion is a terribly weighty thing for any one to decide and often there is no good choice but as much as we would like all children to grow up in fields of gumdrops and lollipops there is at least 25% of the time when that is impossible. It might have been possible wity more sex education but that is taboo also. To claim that teaching kids to recognize or at least question a sexual predator as sex education as a bad thing is the most selfserving political nonsense I have heard since the Lee Atwater days. But before I digress anymore; as soon as their are no more starving children in the world and none having to work for a dollar a day at 9 years old then bring out your righteous indignation and we can talk about abortion. Till then you have no argument.

Per Latino newspaper in California, there is a growing alliance of Latinos and Asians working together to ensure that McCain gets elected. The reason for this is that they think McCain is more willing to work with all...not just those Obama has worked with in Chicago lower east side.

  • Posted By: trazer @ 09/19/2008 10:30:10 PM

Family Values? Wow - Per his book, Obama used cocaine. Per his admission, he took money from convicted felons to fund his mortgage. He has abandoned his children for 2 years given his running for office. He was abandoned by his dad...and for the most part his mom....and felt like an orphan. He supports explicit sex education for 5 year olds. He supports racism given Jeremiah Wrights, his pastor, racist comments.

Ms. Bush's favorite show was desperate housewives, a show that everyone cheats on everone, thats where our morals went!

McCain ??? Palin and The Oil Industry
In 2006 , Bp Alaska, Exxon Mobile, Chevron and Conoco Phillips gave over 1.7 Million dollars to AK First Org. Inc. and to Alaska Oil and Gas Association to repeal Measure 2 of the Alaska Constitution. They succeeded with the help of Palin. By spreading the wealth their 1.7 Million dollar Investment created a windfall of profits only rivaled by Mr. Buffet himself.

With Palin???s help and under the watchful eye of the Bush. Cheney and Mc Cain administration the Oil Emirates will also receive credits against future taxation worth even more billions of dollars. It appears that Palin and the Bush administration are paying the oil companies back all the taxes they have paid since the inception of Measure 2.

What do we know about Palin? Not much according to the Media. We do know Governor Palin is the Public Member for the Alaska Oil and Natural Gas Conservation Commission. What you should know is that the mission of Alaska Oil and Natural Gas Conservation Commission is to work hand in hand with the oil industry to help maximize production, improve resource recovery and to reduce the rights of land owners through its correlative rights mandate. They are task with overseeing the disposal of all toxic waste produced by companies such as Alaska Oil, Chevron, Exxon and BP Alaska.

According to the ??? Inlet Keeper??? these companies are ???legally??? pumping 2 Billion Gallons of toxic waste into the fisheries of Cook Inlet annually. Governor Pain is one of three controlling members of this group comprised of One Geologist, One Petroleum Engineer and one public member, ie Palin.

Wow! its no wonder they picked her for VP. The media chooses to ignore or not care about these facts. Just as with the mis-information they brought us with Iraq they have again been bought and paid for by special interest. Yes afraid of going against the powerful political machine of the Bush administrative and detrimental to the public of the United States and rest of the world; our news media is again not reporting the facts! Surprised; no I???m not but you should be!

The oil companies are once again putting their own candidate into office. They are selling us a Miss America candidate with her cute little smile in a business suit. A candidate who is in charge of and has been responsible for saving oil companies billions by letting them pump two billion gallons of toxic waste into the Cook Inlet and Ice Fields of Alaska annually . You wonder why the Ice is melting maybe it???s the Billions of Gallons of toxic waste compliments of our own greed and unwillingness to reduce our dependence on oil!

Vote for Real Change vote against the Emirates of Alaska and their Palin Pawn, the Mavericks and Cowboys of Arizona, Texas and beyond!

John McCain knew that Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac would collapse, and thereby unjustly burden the American public!

In 2005, Senator John McCain cosponsored the Federal Housing Enterprise Reform Act to regulate the powers and procedures of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.

These 2 massive federal finance agencies had been operating without controls in a blatant irresponsible manner, and had been found guilty in court of falsifying financial records and statements in order to provide supposed justification for bonuses to be given to their higher echelon administrators.

These 2 organizations had been coerced by Democrats, who because of political opportunism, wanted them to grant mortgages to individuals who would be unable to make their required monthly payments. That would be in accordance with the irresponsible Democrat belief that everyone should be entitled to have their own home, irrespective of their actual ability to afford that luxury.

Both of these mortgage lending institutions have contributed massive financial sums to support the political aspirations of Chris Dodd and Barack Obama.

Senator John McCain realized 3 years ago that fraudulent transactions were rampant within these 2 enterprises, and that they would soon collapse if remedial action was not undertaken.

Their bankruptcy would result in the American taxpayers having to go into debt to resurrect or ???bail-out??? these fraudulent Congress protected entities.

As was to be expected, this proposal to institute meaningful financial reform measures was obstructed by the Democrats in the Senate, and the proposal failed to be adopted.

This year, due to the Democrat furor over the collapse of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, the American taxpayers are burdened by having to pay a minimum of 450 billion dollars to ???bail out??? these 2 recklessly managed lending companies.

John McCain exposed and opposed the corrupt lending practices of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.
Barack Obama ???milked the system??? and profited by obstructing reform of their corrupt lending practices.

Democrats have demonstrated that they can wreck the mortgage industry.

Are you willing to vote them into office, and give them a blank check to mismanage the American economy, security, and health care?

Sarah Palin LIES with such ease... and as a result she is anti-God ... just another typical, hypocritical, ranting conservative who cannot live up to the very ideals they want to ram down other people's throats...

How short sighted of Mr. Weisberg to refer to Sarah Palin's pro-life stance as extreme. In reality it is consistent unlike most views on this subject. If you believe, as Governor Palin seems to, that life begins at conception or implantation then the products of conception are a person. As a person he or she is entitled to the rights to which other people are entitled. Including not being killed. That right remains even if the conception occurred in a horrid manner like rape or incest, or if the raising of the child would be economically inconvenient. So from an evangelical point of view two people who are worse off economically are better than one who is better of and one who is dead. A necessary corollary to that pro-life stance is the need to get off our collective evangelical duffs and come alongside the mother and baby and provide them with opportunities to live a better life.

    • Posted By: RO in Reno @ 09/15/2008 11:37:20 PM

Palin's views are extreme, most evangelicals are extremists in many ways.
An anti science group of people that would turn America into a religious fanatical country not all that different from some of the Islamic countries.

I'm not all that certain evangelicals can legitimately be called Christians, they seem to skip the Christian part and live by the book of Revelations with its headless horseman and seven headed dragons.
When the bible was translated it was debated whether the book of revelations should be included as part of the bible, guess they thought better safe than sorry, well we???re sorry now.

Wouldn't freedom FROM relegion be nice? No more wars or hate "values". These nosy cretins care more about other people than themselves. They could care less about the "unborn", why should they have to support someone else's unwanted child, especially since they'd wind up having to pay financially for them. Life does NOT begin at inception, some revisionist freak created that rumor obviously. Their extreme views are fine for them, but they are DEFINATELY file for the vast majority of Americans.

        • Posted By: anti-pious hypocrite watcher @ 09/17/2008 3:52:52 PM

correction: the last sentence should read 'DEFINATELY NOT" for the vast majority of Americans. Also, to all wing-nuts: GET LOST! LEAVE OUR COUNTRY! Move to Cuba, N Korea or you new-found friends: THE RED CHINESE!

Palin is definitely NO Hillary Clinton, not by a long shot!

She is very extreme in her beleifs which do not represent the prevaling thinking of most Americans.

Most Americans beleive in Evolution, support Stem-cell research, support sex and STD education in public schools, support a woman's right to choose and do not believe in reversing Roe v. Wade, support development of Renewable Energy sources and along-term energy plan, state's rights re: gay marriage/ domestic partnerships, support ending the billion+ wasting, War in Iraq and re-deployment of our troops, support affordable health insurance, support reversal of the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy, and support the end of an era of corporate corruption as seen in the accounting, financial, and oil industires...and their control over Washington politicians, and our current President....

i remember when hilary tried everything to knock obama down even the kitchen sink and it did not work! now the obama camp is trying everything including the kitchen sink on palin and its not working ! she gets bigger crowds at her rallies and he gets small ones his ego is crushed and he is worried that he will lose the white house ! and he should be ! McCAIN / PALIN 08 ! >>>>>>>>>> OBAMA / BIDEN BACK TO THE SENATE !
as history suggests issues of policy will ultimately trump the politics of identity. obama is all about who he is and nothing about what he has done ! McCain is all about what he has done not who he is ! the choice is clear !

Paying taxes. Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's(taxes), period. Full stop. Don't try and cheat the government, period. Full stop. Thou shall not steal. Period. Full stop.

Don't lie. Period. Full stop. Dont' bare false witness. God's law, these are you Christians.

What a well thought out article. Maturity, reality, focus and so totally right. Having known someone who was raped by her father, forced to have a child at 15, who everyone knew was her fathers and dead by suicide by 21. So much for family values, supportive government and christian values. By the way he was a christian minister everyone was afraid of.

End of story until the next tragedy in 30 seconds.

"Quality of a child's life doesn't mean much when they don't have life at all! Very few people who have encountered some bumps in the road growing up would say that they would have chosen not to be born at all.
    Hardly an "ethically flawed" stance!

My mom was a hockey mom.

She wasn't a pit bull, a liar or a con artist.
She was a ''reformed Republican.'' She had a brain.

Not half a brain like those buying into this Palin Project, while America is coming apart at the seams. The closest thing I've ever witnessed to "a mountain being removed and be thou cast into the sea" is Lehman Bros.

Mom was more like a smart Golden Retriever. She was loyal, kind and looked out for the common person with deep compassion. She volunteered her time to those less fortunate; in the late 60's Mom taught and tutored underprivileged kids of a different race. I went with her, remembering how we had to lock the car doors once we entered into that neighborhood.

She went to church, but didn't wave her hands to the sky during the service like some lunatic. Mom taught us to beware of a wacko.

Pit bulls are the most dangerous, vicious dogs on the planet. I know dogs and I know people.

And Sarah Palin, you are no Golden Retriever
