    Kittykat9,
I don't vote for anyone based on their looks; I vote for anyone based on their experience, so Biden has way more foreign policy experience than your dumbass Palin. Palin is obviously becoming the Goddess of America's conservatives, who I am sure will build a huge church n her honor.

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/09/2008 7:40:44 PM

I thought we were voting for president? And though you wish it to be so, Sarah Palin is not a dumbass.

I look forward to hearing Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and their dopplegangers up and down the AM dial spend the next 62 days railing against the Palin's associations with this unrepentant separatist and successionist.

After all, the Republican Party was founded to keep the union together and Abraham Lincoln wouldn't want his legacy sullied in this manner.

Note: It's time that we discuss Sarah Palin's associations.

What would Sean Hannity say if Michelle Obama was a member of a political party, for seven years, that advocated separating Illinois from the United States of America and whose founder talked about once professed his "hatred for the American government" and cursed the American flag as a "damn flag"?

Don't you think he'd be on that subject night after night after night?

And what would Bill O'Reilly shout (he never just talks) if Barack Obama had attended a number of meetings of this hypothetical political party while being an elected official?

O'Reilly's head would explode and cover our TV screens is gooey red mush.

But not so for the woman who will be a better VP than Thomas Jefferson AND John Adams (or so it seems).

    -------------------------------------

The founder of the Alaska Independence Party -- a group that has been courted over the years by Sarah Palin, and one her husband was a member of for roughly seven years -- once professed his "hatred for the American government" and cursed the American flag as a "damn flag."

The AIP founder, Joe Vogler, made the comments in 1991, in an interview that's now housed at the Oral History Program in the Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government," Vogler said in the interview, in which he talked extensively about his desire for Alaskan secession, the key goal of the AIP.

"And I won't be buried under their damn flag," Vogler continued in the interview, which also touched on his disappointment with the American judicial system. "I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."

Pretty strong language -- rather "inflammatory" I would call it.

So, why did Sarah and Todd Palin, at the beginning of her political career, decide to have these associations and why did he become a member for seven years?

Palin has courted the group over the years.

Three years after the controversial interview, in 1994, Palin attended the group's annual convention, according to witnesses who spoke to ABC News' Jake Tapper. The McCain campaign is disputing her presence there, but Tapper found two people to attest to it.

I think it's time to change parties. I have never seen this party so low. To pick this FemiNazi who can't even take care of her family. Her husband is a traitor, and I think she is too. She's a poisin pill, a liar and a liability. She's going to cost us the election but I think I'm about past the point of giving a damn anymore. I'm changing my church too. I'm sick of my pastor praying for Bush every damn week. Where's it gotten us?

    • Posted By: star3 @ 09/09/2008 7:36:48 PM

Rushman, maybe you should start helping your pastor pray, instead of putting out negative vibes. Your attitude may be why you are getting the answers you are. The Bible says, "Ye have not because ye ask not." "Ask, and it shall be given." But that doesn't mean the answer will always be "Yes". Sometimes God says "No." I've asked for a winning lottery ticket every week, but so far, God has no seen fit to send one. It is written that God does not give us more than we can handle, so guess he just doesn't trust my abilitym to handle money. Just joking around a bit, but seriously, maybe if you stop questioning God's decisions, and start questioning your own, you might be surprised at how different things look.

You've posted this unsubstantiated schlock before. But please, feel free to substantiate it.

P's a poision pill? lol So.... you're not getting your way and you're leaving... which party? And you're going to quit your church too? Gee, you are angry.

Your pastor is probably very open minded, and unlike you, he or she won't be selective about who to pray for... regardless who's president.

Gov. Ed Rendell decried a double standard in the treatment of Sarah Palin on Monday, saying that if it was he who was at the center of the "Trooper Gate" Investigation,

"The Press would be Calling For His Head"

"First of all, let me say it should be embarrassing for the Republican ticket that Rick Davis, Sen. McCain's campaign manager, said 'this election is NOT ABOUT ISSUES'

Good Lord, with all the challenges facing America it has to be about Issues...

They don't want to talk about issues because when the TRUTH COMES OUT ABOUT THE ISSUES the American people will favor Sen. Obama tremendously."

The Republicans, he added, "would make the All time All-Star Team for Spiders the way they can SPIN."

But most questions, as has been the case since the Palin announcement, were focused on the Alaska Governor.

Would she siphon of Clinton supporters in Pennsylvania ? NO, said Rendell, who expected Obama to receive somewhere along the lines of "95,96, or 97 percent of the vote."

Was she Qualified to Serve as VP ? Absolutely NOT, he bemoaned.

The McCain camp argues that, "Governor Palin, because of her Executive Experience as a Mayor of a (Small 9,000 Person Town and Governor of Alaska for 20 months), has that Experience.

Well, I refer you to a McCain camp document they put out when [Virginia] Gov. Kaine was considered to be vice president. They attacked his Experience and Derided Richmond [where Kaine was Formerly Mayor] because it was the 105th Largest City ...

BIG NOTE: I think Gov. Palin was mayor of the 50,000th [Most Populated] City in the America... It was Fair Game to say Gov. Kaine was not Qualified because of his Credentials. If they are going to be CONSISTENT then they believe that Gov. Palin is Unqualified to be Vice President."

    AlaskaNomics:101 ...Palin Lies...A LOT !!!

Sarah Palin thinks she is a better American than you because she comes from a small town and a superior human being because she isn't a journalist and has never lived in Washington and likes to watch her kids play hockey. Although Palin praised John McCain in her acceptance speech as a man who puts the good of his country ahead of partisan politics, McCain pretty much proved the opposite with his selection of a running mate whose main asset is her ability to reignite the culture wars. So maybe Governor Palin does represent everything that is good and fine about America, as she herself maintains. But spare us, please, any talk about how she is a tough fiscal conservative.
    -----------------

Palin has continued to repeat the already exposed lie that she said "No, thanks" to the famous "bridge to nowhere" (McCain's favorite example of wasteful federal spending). In fact, she said "Yes, please" until the project became a symbol and political albatross.

Back to reality. Of the 50 states, Alaska ranks No. 1 in taxes per resident and No. 1 in spending per resident. Its tax burden per resident is 2 1/2 times the national average; its spending, more than double. The trick is that Alaska's government spends money on its own citizens and taxes the rest of us to pay for it. Although Palin, like McCain, talks about liberating ourselves from dependence on foreign oil, there is no evidence that being dependent on Alaskan oil would be any more pleasant to the pocketbook.

Alaska is, in essence, an adjunct member of OPEC. It has four different taxes on oil, which produce more than 89% of the state's unrestricted revenue. On average, three-quarters of the value of a barrel of oil is taken by the state government before that oil is permitted to leave the state. Alaska residents each get a yearly check for about $2,000 from oil revenues, plus an additional $1,200 pushed through by Palin last year to take advantage of rising oil prices. Any sympathy the governor of Alaska expresses for folks in the lower 48 who are suffering from high gas prices or can't afford to heat their homes is strictly crocodile tears.

As if it couldn't support itself, Alaska also ranks No. 1, year after year, in money it sucks in from Washington. In 2005 (the most recent figures), according to the Tax Foundation, Alaska ranked 18th in federal taxes paid per resident ($5,434) but first in federal spending received per resident ($13,950). Its ratio of federal spending received to federal taxes paid ranks third among the 50 states, and in the absolute amount it receives from Washington over and above the amount it sends to Washington, Alaska ranks No. 1.

She's not going to WIN Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell Called palin Out as being Unfit as a Mayor of a Small TOWN, A Bad Governor and a Unfit Governor, regarding ABUSE OF POWER !!!

AN ITS ALL SO ... TRUE
    -----------------------------
Gov. Ed Rendell decried a double standard in the treatment of Sarah Palin on Monday, saying that if it was he who was at the center of the "Trooper Gate" Investigation,

"The Press would be Calling For His Head"

"She [claims to be] a Reformer," said the Pennsylvania Democrat. "And yet she is being Investigated on the charge that she Used Her Power as Governor to Fire Someone who was going through a Messy Divorce with a Relative of Hers.

Could you imagine if I was doing the Same Thing in Pennsylvania ?

You would be Calling for My Impeachment."

The remarks came at the end of a long list of criticisms that Rendell, one of the foremost supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary, launched against the Republican vice presidential nominee. Ignoring the directive of the Obama campaign to focus attentions on McCain, Rendell called out Palin on everything from ETHICS TO EARMARKS.

"[The McCain camp] has tried to again obscure the facts about Gov. Palin. 'She is a REFORMER and AGAINST EARMARKS.' NO SHE IS'NT, when she was mayor of that TOWN SHE HIRED A LOBBYIST TO GET EARMARKS...

'She was against the Bridge to Nowhere.' No She Wasn't... She was FOR the Bridge to Nowhere First...

She is a BUDGET BALANCER. But she left the TOWN IN GREATER DEBT then when she became Mayor !!!

"I like her," Rendell concluded. "She is a good person, she has tremendous potential but in No Way, Shape or Form is she RERADY to be President of the United States."

The Chick does not meet the Grade, You'll have McCain who Graduated at the Bottom of his Naval Academy & Sarah Palin, with a Questionable Educational History !!!

John McCain: Graduated at the Very Bottom of his Naval Class

Sarah Palin: Graduated after 6 College Jumps, with No Access to her Records, at all.

This would be the Most Under-Educated President & Vice President in USA History !!!

Beyond Any Shadow of Doubt !!!

I was at the supermarket today and the store manager told me about an incident that happened over the weekend. A man in his forties was returning to his car when a younger started calling him a "*** lover". This man had apparently made his own O'bama sticker and displayed it on his bumper. The man pulled out brass knuckles and layed that guy out. The manager called the police and they took the harasser away. The manager also told the police to bring the guy back so he could have him banned from the premises. I don't recall what happened to middle aged man. I once exchanged a hello with him and when he saw my Ron Paul sticker, he mentioned he had some good points. I hope that man comes out ok.

Well, if the foreigners want Obama as our president, it means it will heal America's tarnished image hurt by the arrogance of conservatives' President Bush. It also means quelling anti-American hatred and helping America's case agaisnt terrorists and weakening the hand of bin Laden.
But if you say the views of foreign nations don't matter to America, then you are asking for more anti-American sentiment, tyhe rise of nationalism to coutner America's power threatening other nations with its bullying. A better, peaceful world is one where diplomacy is the order of the day, not arrogance and military threats

Comment: Where are the elite media's in-depth articles like this on all the long-time
associates of Obama and the numerous questions surrounding Biden's relatives-not
mention past incidents of plagurism by Biden?
    =================
Where have you been since Biden was nominated, then? There was an article on MSNBC on the first day he was chosen as VP discussing his past plagiarism, and another article discussed his family (his first wife and their baby dead due to car accident, etc). Obama has been vetted already, you cry baby with crocodile tears. You know Palin is really new to the national stage, while Obam has been on the stage for 3 years and Biden almsot 30 years, so it is pointless to insist that the media is not doing fiar vetting on all candidates. Obama's family and all his associations have bee scrutinzed already, period! What else do you want to ehar? He even admitted his childhood mistakes in his books. To try to associate Ayers with Obama and thus conclude Obama is anti-America is MOOT because Ayers coems from a period in American history in which Obama was a kid, and their association in Chicago was not germane here because it was msotly about Chicago and education. Nevertheless, stop being an advocate of guilt by association.

Wikipedia and The State & Federal senate Still...Lying

A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.

He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003. After a primary victory in March 2004, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He was elected to the Senate in November 2004 with 70% of the vote.

As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he helped create legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds.

He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During the 110th Congress, he helped create legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel.

    Barack Obama 110th Congress

In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D???WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007. He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections. Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production. Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007," a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs. He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism. A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill. Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries. After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans

    Barack Obama 109th Congress

Obama took an active role in the Senate's drive for improved border security and immigration reform. In 2005, he cosponsored the "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act" introduced by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). He later added three amendments to the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act", which passed the Senate in May 2006, but failed to gain majority support in the U.S. House of Representatives. In September 2006, Obama supported a related bill, the Secure Fence Act, authorizing construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States???Mexico border. President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act into law in October 2006, calling it "an important step toward immigration reform."

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discuss the Coburn-Obama Transparency Act. Partnering first with Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), and then with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. "Lugar-Obama" expands the Nunn-Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines. The Lugar-Obama initiative subsequently received $48 million in funding. The "Coburn-Obama Transparency Act" provides for the web site USAspending.gov, managed by the Office of Management and Budget. The site lists all organizations receiving Federal funds from 2007 onward and provides breakdowns by the agency allocating the funds, the dollar amount given, and the purpose of the grant or contract. In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the "Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act," marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks. Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election, Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel." He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya. The speech touched off a public debate among rival leaders, some formally challenging Obama's remarks as unfa

    SEA Observer,
Of course, WalMart workers got the benefits and icnreased pay largely because of court rulings in legal cases brought by workers' advocates and the Democrats. What the GOP wanted was to limit lawsuits so they can limit the tolls workers have to compel corproate America to share resources and treat them fairly and equally. If you disagree, then why did WalMart have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars, including in cases when the company paid women less (perhaps this does not include your wife, because your wife may be holding managment position)...

The Koch Story is being ran here at Newsweek now...Their Lying Too...Huh

Koch backs Obama, calls Palin 'Scary'

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch, who endorsed and worked for George W. Bush in 2004, is endorsing Obama today, NY1 first reported.

I asked Koch just now what prompted the move.

"The designation of Palin to be vice president," he said. "She's scary."

He said he was alarmed by the report that she'd triggered a conflict with the local librarian in Wasilla, Alaska by inquiring about the possibility of banning books.

"Any time someone goes to the library and says, 'I want to ban books,' and the librarian says 'no,' and she threatens to fire them -- that's scary," he said.

(Palin at the time said she was just inquiring about the library's policy on banning books, with no aim of actually banning any. "It was a rhetorical quesiton -- nothing more," the McCain-Palin campaign said in a memo yesterday. And no books were banned, the town says.)

In an endorsement statement, Koch wrote that "the issue for me is who will best protect and defend America" and that both parties were strong on terrorism.

I have concluded that the country is safer in the hands of Barack Obama, leader of the Democratic Party and protector of the philosophy of that party. Protecting and defending the U.S. means more than defending us from foreign attacks. It includes defending the public with respect to their civil rights, civil liberties and other needs, e.g., national health insurance, the right of abortion, the continuation of Social Security, gay rights, other rights of privacy, fair progressive taxation and a host of other needs and rights.

If the vice president were ever called on to lead the country, there is no question in my mind that the experience and demonstrated judgment of Joe Biden is superior to that of Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin is a plucky, exciting candidate, but when her record is examined, she fails miserably with respect to her views on the domestic issues that are so important to the people of the U.S., and to me. Frankly, it would scare me if she were to succeed John McCain in the presidency.

Koch said he'd visited six states for Bush in 2004, primarily Florida, but also several others. ("Why they sent me to Iowa, I don't know.") He said he'd be happy to campaign for Obama "if they ask me to."

Koch is a member of a set of secular, swing-voting Jewish Democrats who may have been pushed away by the selection of Palin, and his endorsement may be a marker of an opportunity for Obama to strengthen his campaign among older Jewish voters in Florida.

Koch's full endorsement statement is after the jump

Former Mayor & The Politico Lie also...Huh

While Palin's office framed the departure as an "amicable" mutual decision, Bitney told Politico that Sarah and Todd Palin "were upset with me about my divorce and who I was dating, and they didn't want that in the governor's office. I wanted to stay with the governor and support the governor -- we're talking about someone who's been a friend for 30 years -- but I understood it, and I have no ax to grind over the whole thing."

Still, Bitney took a line from the "Seinfeld" character Elaine, deeming Palin "a bad breaker-upper."

Palin also fired, according to the Politico, "a campaign adviser whose mother-in-law fought Palin's legislative agenda, a local political mentor who she felt represented the "old boys' network," a police chief who she said tried to intimidate her with "stern look[s]" and a state commissioner who refused to fire her sister's ex-husband."

    =============
    Kittykit9,
Scratch your --s, you can have a ride on my back and not worry about anything. You know the reason why Palin suddenly rose as a popular figure is because the youh vote may not have been factored in, and that her combative performance during the convention was a great and entrtaining show for Americans. But hey, voters won't vote based on that performance, so give it a week or 2 before she is pushed down the poll. Also note that she is a rather new female politician on the natioal stage, Biden is not. So it doe snot tell us much about what will happen on November.
We look forward to the results of the ethics investigations agaisnt this pitbul.
