Todd Palin???s affiliation and Sarah Palin???s sympathetic addresses to the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) don???t seem to draw the same objection that Obama???s former pastor received for making anti-America comments. The AIP???s website prominently features ???Alaska First, Alaska Forever??? as their motto in sharp contrast to the RNC???s ???America First??? political sloganeering. But more alarming is the quote from its founder Joe Vogler, ???I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions.???

If the media is all over Obama for co-serving on a charitable board with a 60???s radical or for comments made by his former pastor, where is the scrutiny of the Palins??? anti-America sympathies?

If the Obamas had had a similar affiliation or warm relations with say a Hawaiian Independence group encouraging secession from the United States of America as the AIP does, wouldn???t the media and all the right wing extremists be all over them?

For those of you who think DESTROYING SARAH will cause us to NOT vote for Mc Cain / Palin ticket you are so wrong. I don't care if any of the stuff posted about her is true.

Did she ban books? Don't care!
Did she fire the trooper who may or may not have beat her sister? Don't care!
Did she once support BRIDGE TO NOWHERE? Don't care!
Did she ask for earmarks? Don't care!

All I and most other republicans care about is smaller government, WINNING THE WAR IN IRAQ
and having FRIENDLY BUSINESS policy that keeps taxes low, creates growth, creates jobs, and creates wealth. The way I look at it if you are TOO DUMB to become a millionaire in this country its your own fault, its EASY!

Responding to "willnotvoteobama"s one-handed, narrow-minded post on the Bridge to Nowhere... (pardon me anyone if I previously used inappropriate language, but that signals my frustration that some ignorant folks keep feeding voters trash):
Palin may have said ???Thanks, but no thanks??? on the Bridge to Nowhere, though not
until Congress had pretty much killed it already. But that was a sharp turnaround
from the position she took during her gubernatorial campaign, and the town where
she was mayor received lots of earmarks during her tenure.
Palin???s accusation that Obama hasn???t authored ???a single major law or even a reform???
in the U.S. Senate or the Illinois Senate is simply not a fair assessment. Obama
has helped push through major ethics reforms in both bodies, for example.
The Alaska governor avoided some of McCain???s false claims about Obama???s tax program
??? but her attacks still failed to give the whole story.

While Palin's office framed the departure as an "amicable" mutual decision, Bitney told Politico that Sarah and Todd Palin "were upset with me about my divorce and who I was dating, and they didn't want that in the governor's office. I wanted to stay with the governor and support the governor -- we're talking about someone who's been a friend for 30 years -- but I understood it, and I have no ax to grind over the whole thing."

Still, Bitney took a line from the "Seinfeld" character Elaine, deeming Palin "a bad breaker-upper."


Palin also fired, according to the Politico, "a campaign adviser whose mother-in-law fought Palin's legislative agenda, a local political mentor who she felt represented the "old boys' network," a police chief who she said tried to intimidate her with "stern look[s]" and a state commissioner who refused to fire her sister's ex-husband."

Sarah Palin and John Bitney go way back. They were in the same junior-high band class. Mr. Bitney was a key aide in Gov. Palin's 2006 gubernatorial campaign. When she took office, she gave Mr. Bitney a job as her legislative director, and a few months later stood beside him at a news conference and praised his work.

"Whatever you did, you did it right," she told Mr. Bitney and his team.

Seven weeks later she fired Mr. Bitney for what her spokeswoman now describes as "poor job performance."

What happened in between? According to Mr. Bitney, Gov. Palin got a call from another old friend, Scott Richter, informing her that his wife, Debbie Richter, and Mr. Bitney were having an affair. Mr. Bitney had kept that secret from the governor, even as he told her of his divorce, he said.
When Gov. Palin was notified by Mr. Richter in July 2007, she called Mr. Bitney into her office. She already knew he was going through a divorce, and, Mr. Bitney said, he had "led her to believe there weren't going to be any more surprises."

Mr. Bitney said the governor "indicated to me that she was hurt, disappointed and upset, and that she didn't know what she wanted to do."

A few days later, Gov. Palin's chief of staff "indicated to me that I needed to leave the governor's office," Mr. Bitney said.
