Biden Lied About Wife's Car Accident.
In an act of reprehensible cruelty, then-presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden while campaigning in Iowa last year blamed the car accident in which his wife and daughter were killed on a drunk driver. The claim was completely false. The car accident was in fact his own wife's fault. Apparently distracted by one of the three children in the car with her, she accelerated into the path of an oncoming truck which could not stop to avoid her car. Celia Cohen explains at the Delaware Grapevine in a story entitled, "It Ain't So, Joe.???I got elected when I was 29, and I got elected November the 7th. And on December 18 of that year, my wife and three kids were Christmas shopping for a Christmas tree. A tractor-trailer, a guy who allegedly ??? and I never pursued it ??? drank his lunch instead of eating his lunch, broadsided my family and killed my wife instantly, and killed my daughter instantly, and hospitalized my two sons, with what were thought to be at the time permanent, fundamental injuries.
Except there was no drinking. There was not even speeding. The truck???s brakes checked out, as well. It was not the driver???s fault.

Joe can't help it. He has a mental disorder, that requires constant lying....like his multiple plagiarisms. It's not really his fault. He is a Dem...you know...Always the VICTIM.

The worse part is the thought of trailer trash from Alaska sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom. In the Lincoln bedroom......Can you imagine that? Mary Lincoln is probably rolling in her grave right now. My dad thinks you still have a chance if you get rid of Biden and choose Hillary. He says you should either have him feign an illness, or you should dig up some dirt on him and force him to withdraw. And then pick Hillary. Well, I am into my second week here at Vassar. It is nice to attend a school without requirements. I am taking a course on the CIA. Right now we are learning about how it was involved in the Allende assassination. I am also taking a course on transgendered ski instructors from Madagascar. Well so long.

Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago.
Obama's campaign has taken a hard stance against the world of lobbying in the nation's capital. Obama said he limits his own efforts to get money for pet projects -- a process known as earmarking -- to those that benefit the public. He has posted his earmark requests on his presidential campaign Web site to encourage transparency.
Since Obama announced his selection of Biden , attention has focused on Biden's lobbying connections as well as his son's lobbying activities. R. Hunter Biden is one of many relatives of members of Congress who work as lobbyists.
The younger Biden started his career as a lobbyist in 2001 and has registered to represent about 21 clients that have brought in $3.5 million to his Washington firm, according to lobbying disclosure forms.

OBAMA NEVER SAID, HE NEVER USED OR REQUESTED "EARMARKS" SARAH PALIN HAS SAID, "EARMARKS IN AN OF THEMSELVES, ARE GOOD" SHE SHOULD KNOW, SHE USESD CONSTANTLY IN ALASKA, THOUGH NOW SHE'S AGAINST THEM.

MCCAIN SAID THAT EARMARKS SHOULD BE VOTED OUT AND OBAMA AGREED, THEY PUT IT TO A VOTE AND THE MAJORITY, OVERWHELMINGLY, THATS DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS, VOTE TO KEEP EARMARKS, BECAUSE THEY HELP STATES.

SO, AS YOU CAN SEE, OBAMA VOTED AGAINST THEM ALONG WITH MCCAIN AND EARMARKS ISSUE WAS SHOT DOWN BY BOTH DEMOCRAT & REPUBLICANS...

IT'S SARAH PALIN LYING ABOUT EARMARKS, NOT OBAMA.

    MORE ABOUT PALIN:
[ Note by web_admin: This was already posted on Washington Independent
comments area and was meant by the author to be read by many, but
readers need sourcing. The NY Times has talked with contributors since. ]

When then-Governor Murkowski was handing out political plums, Sarah got
the best, Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission: one
of the few jobs not in Juneau and one of the best paid. She had no
background in oil & gas issues. Within months of scoring this great
job which paid $122,400/yr, she was complaining in the press about the
high salary. I was told that she hated that job: the commute, the
structured hours, the work. Sarah became aware that a member of this
Commission (who was also the State Chair of the Republican Party)
engaged in unethical behavior on the job. In a gutsy move which some
undoubtedly cautioned her could be political suicide, Sarah solved all
her problems in one fell swoop: got out of the job she hated and
garnered gobs of media attention as the patron saint of ethics and as a
gutsy fighter against the "old boys' club" when she dramatically quit,
exposing this man's ethics violations (for which he was fined).

As Mayor, she had her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork from
Senator Ted Stevens. Lately, she has castigated his pork-barrel
politics and publicly humiliated him. She only opposed the "bridge to
nowhere" after it became clear that it would be unwise not to.

As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budget
guidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoing
projects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislative
action restored most of these projects--which had been vetoed simply
because she was not aware of their importance--but with the unobservant
she had gained a reputation as "anti-pork".

Sarah Palin's Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae, Gaffe

Note: Even conservative analysts acknowledged that the statement simply did not hold true.

"Heretofore, if the treasury had a balance sheet there would have been a liability but there was never a taxpayer payment before [the bailout]," said Gerald P. O'Driscoll, an economist with the Cato Institute. "[Fannie and Freddie] were not taxpayer funded. They had taxpayer guarantee, which is worth something, especially in the stock market..."

The Palin misstatement comes as Fannie and Freddie are set to be placed under control of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, created by President Bush in late July to help regulate the two housing giants. Both presidential candidates have been critical of Fannie and Freddie but neither is opposed to the government's plans for the companies. The treasury is hoping that the government's role will help stabilize credit markets and incentive more mortgage lending.

Big Note: "With the takeover they will be taxpayer funded," said O'Driscoll. "As I understand it they get to withdraw funds with permission going forward."

How politically significant a "gaffe" it is remains to be seen.

Bigger Note: The Major concern about Palin's position on the ticket is that SHE LACKS the Economic and Foreign Policy wherewithal to serve as Vice President. This certainly doesn't help on that front. At the same time, the remark went almost entirely unnoticed over the weekend and discussions on the developments of the housing market can be difficult to process for even the most attuned voter.

Palin's Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae Remarks, with Winking, Blinlikg and Nodding McCain at her Side in Agreement....

Biden will eat her A!! Up in a Debate.!!!

Economists and analysts pounced on the misstatement, which came before the government had spent funds baling the two entities out, saying it demonstrated a lack of understanding about one of the key economic issues likely to face the next administration.

"You would like to think that someone who is going to be vice president and conceivable president would know what Fannie and Freddie do," said Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research. "These are huge institutions and they are absolutely central to our country's mortgage debt. To not have a clue what they do doesn't speak well for her, I'd say."

Added Andrew Jakabovics, an economic analysts for the progressive think tank, Center for American Progress: "It is somewhat nonsensical because up until yesterday there was sort of no public funding there. Even today they haven't drawn down any of the credit line they have given to Treasury. 'Gotten too big and too expensive' are two separate things. The too big has been a conservative mantra for a while and there is something to be said of that in that they hold about half of the mortgage guarantees that are out there. And in the last year they have been responsible for roughly 80 percent out there. The 'too expensive to tax payers,' I don't know where that comes from."

Even conservative analysts acknowledged that the statement simply did not hold true.

The Left had a different response. Within minutes, Barack Obama and his allies on the left unleashed a barrage of despicable attacks on Gov. Palin's record, heritage, and even her family.

They attacked her qualifications to be Vice President. They attacked her record as Governor of Alaska. They attacked her small-town upbringing. They spread false rumors about her family.
The attacks will continue. The Left can't afford for you to know the real Sarah Palin -- they have to create a fictional story if they are going to defeat the biggest breath of fresh air to hit the national scene in decades.
The only way to stop a lib is to squash them like the cockroaches they are.

  • Posted By: Omaar @ 09/08/2008 3:45:13 PM

There are varying explanations that could be offered for Palin's defense. As O'Driscoll noted, both Fannie and Freddie "were hybrid institutions because they had private ownership but...

A implicit Gvernment guarantee which people thought at the end of the day was explicit."

Meanwhile, as Baker noted, as of July the two lenders were being offered low market interest rates by the fed again, theoretically, at the taxpayer's expense.

Big Note: But, he added, "I kind of doubt she had any sense of that."

    Man O Man O Man...is that a Telling Assessment !!!!

Everyone is just cant figure out what to do with Sarah, Bash her more she gets more media, try to slam her it just makes her stronger when people listen to her speak.

Bottom line is Obama is not ready; maybe down the road but right now mm dont think so. If you actually asked Sarah Palin would she take care of Democrats and Republican needs she would say yes and would back it up. She may be a heart beat away but this woman would really change things.

She blew the whistle on the republican who hired her to for the ethics committee to oversea the oil companies in that he was doing things that were not appropriate. This was before she was governor. Now that could have lost her career in politics. She was championed by all Alaskans for her work.

She would do fine if she ever had to take over as president. Palin and McCain will go after the waste, where the Government spends too much for items, you will see the most active VP Ever, most VPs are forgettable, and she won???t be.

McCain's a HERO, Obama a ZERO. Very catchy phrase, fit for a bumper sticker. Of course McCain suffered as a POW 40 years ago. He's reminded us of it often enough, something Kerry never did. At the same time, there were many other POWs who suffered as much, not to mention about 50,000 who never came back alive. You ARE aware that your hero gave a false, anti-American confession while he was a POW, and that after his return he discarded his now-disfigured wife and had an affair with a beautiful young heiress who might as well have been his daughter?

McCain confessed that the Vietnamese broke him during that time. He admitted to being ashamed of that fact, and as a result, put his country before himself. I think all of us can say we have come to crossroads in our lives where our mistakes and weaknesses formed us into better people, and guided us into a stronger conviction for what we believe in. I commend him for being vulnerable about his weaknesses.

Since you ased... Obama's foreign policy experience includes graduating from Columbia University with a degree in political science with an emphasis on international relations. In the U.S. Senate Obama is unique among Senators in that he serves on three of the four Senate Committees dealing with foreign policy issues including the Foreign Relations; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans' Affairs committees and is the Chair of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Relations which is responsible fore U.S. relations with European countries, the European Union, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (i.e., NATO). He has lived abroad and his backgound qualifies him to approach the international community with an open and discerning attitude. The current administration's xenophobia has isolated us in the world community. The world community has shown itself ready, even eager, for an open-minded partner in the White House.

THE SPIN: Called "Original Mavericks," the ad asserts the Republican senator has fought pork-barrel spending, the drug industry and fellow Republicans, reforming Washington in the process, and credits Palin with similarly changing Alaska by taking on the oil industry, challenging her own party and ditching the bridge project that became a national symbol of wasteful spending.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton came back with fighting words. "Despite being discredited over and over again by numerous news organizations, the McCain campaign continues to repeat the lie that Sarah Palin stopped the Bridge to Nowhere," he said.

Burton said McCain would merely carry on supporting President Bush's economic, health, education, energy and foreign policies, and that means "anything but change."

THE FACTS: Palin did abandon plans to build the nearly $400 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport. But she made her decision after the project had become an embarrassment to the state, after federal dollars for the project were pulled back and diverted to other uses in Alaska, and after she had appeared to support the bridge during her campaign for governor.

McCain and Palin together have told a broader story about the bridge that is misleading. She is portrayed as a crusader for the thrifty use of tax dollars who turned down an offer from Washington to build an expensive bridge of little value to the state.

"I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere," she said in her convention speech last week.

That's not what she told Alaskans when she announced a year ago that she was ordering state transportation officials to ditch the project. Her explanation then was that it would be fruitless to try to persuade Congress to come up with the money.

"It's clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island," Palin said then.

Palin indicated during her 2006 campaign for governor that she supported the bridge, but was wishy-washy about it. She told local officials that money appropriated for the bridge "should remain available for a link, an access process as we continue to evaluate the scope and just how best to just get this done."

This interview that Charles Gibson is doing is going to be a farce and dishonest to the American people!! Who are you - the media accountable to? Is it us the viewers or corporate America?!!! Please read on below to understand why this interivew that Gibson gives to Palin is such a crock of Alaska!!

"And it's pretty clear this farce is going to be close to unwatchable. Set aside that this comes just on the heels of McCain campaign manager Rick Davis saying Palin would not sit for any interviews "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference." The tell comes high up in the AP story by David Bauder. The second graf reads ...

Palin will sit down for multiple interviews with Gibson in Alaska over two days, most likely Thursday and Friday, said McCain adviser Mark Salter.
Political interviews are never done like this. Because it makes the questioning entirely at the discretion of the person being interviewed and their handlers. The interviewer has to be on their best behavior, at least until the last of the 'multiple interviews' because otherwise the subsequent sittings just won't happen. For a political journalist to agree to such terms amounts to a form of self-gelding. The only interviews that are done this way are lifestyle and celebrity interviews. And it's pretty clear that that is what this will be.

Here's some more to inspire confidence ...

The interview is a coup for Gibson, who also had the only sit-down with McCain during the Republican National Convention. During that interview, he did not question McCain about Palin's family, a decision that he fretted about for hours, Gibson said in a Web log posted last week.

"Once you know about her daughter's pregnancy, once you know about her husband's political interest in the Alaska Independent Party, once you know about the special nature of their latest child, I think that's enough," Gibson wrote.

The relevant questions about Palin all related to her experience and policy positions as a mayor and governor of Alaska.

ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider said he did not believe Gibson's stated stance about family questions was key to securing the interview. It will be unwatchable. "

  • Posted By: dat179 @ 09/08/2008 4:42:21 PM

I am sorry but as a female and a conservative I have to question Palin's values. She left her home and her children right when they needed her most to pursue fame in the public sphere. It is very telling that her daughter became pregnant after she abandoned her to serve as mayor and then governor. She should have been home serving as a mother to her children. Now she wants to leave her family to serve as Vice President when she has 5 children one of which has DS and another that is pregnant! What kind of mom would do this? She should stay home to help her family in its time of need.

Since moms have abandoned the home the nation has fallen a part. Palin's example with do nothing but encourage more women to do the same.

Why are so many conservatives cheering for Palin when her actions run contrary to our espoused values?

  • Posted By: Omaar @ 09/08/2008 4:37:50 PM

Palin indicated during her 2006 campaign for governor that she supported the bridge, but was wishy-washy about it. She told local officials that money appropriated for the bridge "should remain available for a link, an access process as we continue to evaluate the scope and just how best to just get this done."

She vowed to defend Southeast Alaska "when proposals are on the table like the bridge and not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that's so negative" ??? something that McCain was busy doing at the time, as a fierce critic of the bridge.

Even so, she called the bridge design "grandiose" during her campaign and said something more modest might be appropriate.

Palin's reputation for standing up to entrenched interests in Alaska is genuine. Her self-description as a leader who "championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress" is harder to square with the facts.

The governor has cut back on pork-barrel project requests, but in her two years in office, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. And as mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million.

People like careerdaytrader should especially pay attention to the education level statistic when slinging baseless insults about dems being less educated.

I never said less educated I called Democrats MORONS. I know many people who have MBA's and PhD's who have never ACCOMPLISHED a damn thing in their lives!

Economics 101 - You do NOT raise taxes during what may be the worst recession we've had since Carter!

If you REMOVE all of the lawyers from the Democratic side then fewer voters have college degrees.
We know how much IN BED the Democrats are with the bar!

That's why they won't do anything that prevents trial attorneys from suing doctors and getting $20 million punitive damages! Do you think THAT would lower the cost of medical care? Sure it would.
