N.O.W. (National Organization of Witches) are being unmasked. They have shown all the world, with their attacks on Gov. Palin, that they are NOT REAL WOMEN. They despise the Gov. because she is NOT a carpet munching FEMINAZI. If for no other reason than the, end of their days....I find her selection, one of the most profound and refreshing political statements, in my lifetime.

We will look back on this .....and recognize this....as the end of The Isle of Lesbos FemiNazi movement.

    Sarah Palin...A REAL Woman.

    NOBAMA!!!

SEA Observer, I won't want to respond to someone like you. But speaking in general, I wasn't referring to specific trends that favored a particular candidate. Obama's campaign for office, in the eye of the press, was more historic than that of McCain. And, McCain never has been consistently favored to win among national voters (it was Obama, as the Iowa surprise demonstrates), although he has led in polls on an inconsistent basis.
Now, I won't respond further because it seems this will get less civil when what you do when you don't agree is insult others' comments.

If you are relying on the elite press for your information, then I would seriously question your judment! your postings are very one-sided so far, so don't even tried to put it as though I am one... I questioned both sides on their reasonings... so far, very disappointed with the Obama supporters

Voters need to stop wrangling over who has the best degree. After all, the person who is educated at the most prestigious school does tend to to be the more arrogant type and more opportunistic. I am not, of course, accusing Obama of being opportunistic, for he does not seem to be one. It was Bush, who instead of community organizing work , sold a sports team and amassed huge wealth. Is wealth the ticket to the GOP's membership in addition to social conservatiism that stand in the way of global progress?
Let me ask this, then: What degree did the great president Abraham Lincon have? Abraham wasn't evn a modern Republican (the Republicans of his time were actually Demcorats of today).

Palin's Biggest Project in Wasilla, was a Poorly Planed & Erected "Hockey Rink" !!!
    ----------------------------------
    Palin's Hockey Rink Leads
To Legal Trouble in Town She Led
    By MICHAEL M. PHILLIPS
    September 6, 2008; Page A5

WASILLA, Alaska -- The biggest project that Sarah Palin undertook as mayor of this small town was an indoor sports complex, where locals played hockey, soccer, and basketball, especially during the long, dark Alaskan winters.

The only catch was that the city began building roads and installing utilities for the project before it had unchallenged title to the land. The misstep led to years of litigation and at least $1.3 million in extra costs for a small municipality with a small budget. What was to be Ms. Palin's legacy has turned into a financial mess that continues to plague Wasilla.

"It's too bad that the city of Wasilla didn't do their homework and secure the land before they began construction," said Kathy Wells, a longtime activist here. "She was not your ceremonial mayor; she was in charge of running the city. So it was her job to make sure things were done correctly."

    Associated Press

Ms. Palin, now Alaska's governor and Republican Sen. John McCain's running mate, has pointed to her two terms as Wasilla's mayor, from 1996 to 2002, as evidence that she has enough executive experience to take on the presidency, should the need arise -- more than Democratic Sen. Barack Obama, who touts his own background as a community organizer in Chicago.

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities," Ms. Palin said Wednesday in her acceptance speech at the Republican convention.

Litigation resulting from the dispute over Ms. Palin's sports-complex project is still in the courts, with the land's former owner seeking hundreds of thousands of additional dollars from the city.

J, as a resident of California, you may be surprised to learn that there are many conservatives here, even in Hollywood, but you're right, there are a lot of liberals. I was told "If you're not liberal when you're young, you have no heart, and if you're not conservative when you're older, you have no brain." Don't know about that, but there seem to be some who aquired a brain at birth, and some who never got one, so...we'll just have to use our own interpetation on that. November will tell..

If McCain cared about unity and reaching across party lines, he would not have let Palin give that speech, which was highly offensive to 47-51% of the Nation and was about the most divisive and partisan speech you could ever hear. Nice to meet you Palin. Look, I'm a Democrat, but I know that I alone don't choose the President. So, if I'm going to get a Republican, and that duo is going to run the country, I want the best and most capable Republicans out there. So give me Olympia Snowe or even that woman who was the CEO for Ebay. Don't give me some glorified PTA mom with barely a degree from Idaho. Sorry if I want more than just a pit bull. While all of you were busy micro-managing Palin's life did you hear Obama call the town of Wasilla...WASILLY? That too was on AC360 on Monday...and no one said a word about it....now if McCain had done that everyone would have demanded he undergo examination for alzheimers and it would have been the lead story on MSNBC, CNN, Headline News, on the cover of Time and Newsweek etc. Did anyone besides Obama's daughter catch that Obama couldn't remember that if he was in St. Louis or Kansas City during the Convention? Did anyone notice that Obama didn't remember that Palin is the Governor and not the mayor when Obama tried to make the comparison of experience on AC360 Monday (see my post below on this gaffe)? Everyone laughed it off that he thinks there are 57 states. That Obama when introducing Biden as the VP called him the next POTUS.. Why is it that MSM is so willing to overlook these JUNIOR MOMENTS but waits with bated breath and cameras rollin' for McCain to make one little slip.... I think the person that really needs to be questioned as to mental fitness is OBAMA because I think he has damaged his mental abilities throught his years of COCAINE and Marijuana use. Any of you MSM people have the BALLS to write about that? Or would it go against your agenda to elect Obama?

McCain said today that he wants the brightest people in America for his Cabinet. Then why'd he pick as his VP pick someone with far from stellar and, said favorably, utterly mediocre academic credentials. I think this should get more press. He has 300 million people to choose from and he selects someone who has a measley B.S. degree in an unrelated field from the far from renown U of Idaho. Plus it took her 6 schools and 6 years just to get that. Laura Bush even has a Master's Degree, and compare the academic credentials of the Clintons, Obama, and many others who were candidates in recent years. She would be hard-pressed to get a middle-management position at my company based on her academic achievements.

And, for the 2nd most important position in the land, and with 300 million people to choose from, can't we get brilliant and great leadership!? Give me a break. If we made a list of the most qualified people for the VP job out of all Americans, she would not be in the first million.

John McCain picked Governor Sarah Palin because he intends to follow through and make his Project Lexington for United States energy independence the dominant issue in this campaign. Governor Sarah Palin is a strong supporter of increased offshore drilling and she knows that Alaska has an offshore coastline greater than the rest of the country combined and is also comes in second among the states in oil production. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and John McCain understand that Obama and the Democrats would never consider government loan guarantees or tax breaks for a sure thing that will produce energy for the American gas tank. In fact Democrats are trying to put together a so-called windfall profits tax which will have the effect of discouraging future investment in the United States oil industry. John McCain also knows that Governor Sarah Palin family situation also illustrates that longterm Democratic leadership hostility and policies toward United States owned energy companies have caused our current energy crisis. Her husband who works for British Petroleum should be working for the former American owned Arco Oil Company. Arco Oil Company developed and explored the Alaska North Slope and formerly owned eighty percent of our proven Alaskan reserves. With its substantial oil reserves Arco Oil Company should have bought British Petroleum instead of British Petroleum buying out Arco Oil Company during the second Bill Clinton administration. With the right business environment and support from both political parties in the United States, Arco Oil Company might have been more successful and been able to buy out British Petroleum instead of British Petroleum buying out Arco Oil Company.

Look at Apple Computer and Microsoft. Their success in the computer world have made them bullet proof to corporate takeovers. Longterm Democratic hostility and opposition to offshore drilling and periodic talk of windfall profits taxes contributed to the takeover of Arco Oil Company.

    • Posted By: basedrum777 @ 09/07/2008 9:21:45 PM

In case you haven't noticed that's because we don't want drilling in the Alaskan Wilderness. We can't drill ourselves out of the oil problem.

There is a world of difference governing a small state like Alaska and governing the USA. Sarah Palin went out of the country for the first time last year. If anything happens to McCain, it is scary to think she will be running the country.
Jesus gave two commandments that took the place of all the old ones: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. Loving our neighbors does include being concerned about issues that affect everybody, such as the economy, global warming, war, healthcare and education. I think being ???pro-life??? does not stop with just carrying the baby to birth but continues all through life. It also means caring for the poor and those in need. . We know nothing of her stance on important issues that matter to the common man. All we know is she gave a highly touted speech that was far from being Christian in its sarcasm, and insults. She thumped her nose at campaign organizers who are caring for their neighbors. She also said that she cared about special needs kids while she cut special education funding in her state by 60%.
Being an Evangelical Christian does not mean I must give up independent thinking, and vote with the mass of my brethren. They voted for the wrong guys 8 years ago and I am afraid they are about to do the same.
McCain and Sarah Palin are wrong for the country.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 09/06/2008 10:27:22 PM

Palin actually has the most experience of all 4 candidates because she has EXECUTIVE experiece and Obama, McCain and Biden only have LEGISLATIVE experience. Obama on AC360 on Monday tried to compare running his campaign to Palin's being Mayor of Wasilla, stating he had more experience. Cooper just sat there and never even questioned it. I was yelling at the TV going "but she the GOVERNOR now not the Mayor" Well for 2 day's NO ONE called Obama out on it. Then GLENN BECK on his show finally did and made the true comparison. Obama's campaign budget a few million....State of Alaska's budget (and Palin's) was well over 1 BILLION. Obama's number of employees was one TWENTY-SEVENTH of Palins.
So had Obama made the correct comparison it would have blown him out of the water on experience and still no one else except GLENN BECK and me have continued to point this out. If I might also add my part...Obama in his campaign only answers to himself, Palin answers to TAXPAYERS! Last I heard Obama has less than a 50% "approval rating" in the polls....Palin has a 76% approval rating by TAXPAYERS. Now tell me who really has more experience!

      • Posted By: maliles @ 09/06/2008 10:38:23 PM

Let's debate the executive experience argument. Bush had executive experience from being Governor of Texas and we all see what that has got us. His father had eight years of experience as Vice President and we see how long he lasted, one term. These two facts alone negate the argument, there is no evidence in recent history to suggest executive experience makes a better President. JFK had no real executive experience and is remembered for being one of our greatest Presidents, Lincoln had less experience than all four candidates yet he was responsible for so much in our history and is regarded as one of our greatest leaders. Give me facts to substantiate your argument, history does not show where executive experience has played any great role in great Presidents. Yet there is evidence to suggest leaders with executive experience have not faired that well and there is evidence that some have. I will say again there is no real evidence to your argument.

Do you happen to know if the number of SE kids decreased in recent years?
Do you know if other areas of the budget were increased to cover this particular area?
Have you yourself ever served in any capacity of government to understand how it works even at the local level?

Comparing Obama's accomplishment as a community organizer to that of Susan B. Anthony is MOOT and irrelevant here, because in that time in which Susan lived there were way too many social and economic restrictions that Obama was not even born to be a part of who would have made contributions to change. Susan Anthony's accomplishments are better compared with Rosa Parks. So, stop being thickskulled.

  • Posted By: Iron Horse @ 09/07/2008 8:47:18 PM

It is not that the edia 'crowned' Obama the winner, idiots; they are jsut making predictions based on trends, not on whims as those wanting Palin regardless of ehr experience do. I am not defending the media, for I distrust the press. The press has been biased, but not biased the way McCain and Palin supporters feel. Th press has the right to scrutinize someone entirely new to the national political scene. And the reason, in my opinion, for Hillary not being given the same degree of press coverage as Obama is because she is too well known and that candidates who may be new to the national political scene tend to get more coverage. If media biase in favor of Obama is alleged, then the Wright and other 'scandals' would not have been pushed too hard by the media, particularly he conservative media.

I bought my wife a 2 yr subscription to U.S.Weekly magazine last Christmas as a stocking stuffer. I thought she would get a kick out of the deprecating articles about the Hollywood celebrities.

    NO LONGER! Cancel our subscription!

After seeing the slanderous, malicious, attack-driven ???cover story??? entitled, ???Babies, Lies & Scandal??? meant to publicly embarrass Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin of the great State of Alaska, U.S. Weekly can take its communist drivel and peddle it to some unsuspecting victim elsewhere. To be honest, we all know that U.S. Weekly is far from the caliber of legitimate journalism.

However, since it has a readership in the millions, U.S.Weekly, is clearly trying to flex its Beverly Hills political muscle. U.S.Weekly should stick to what it knows best, like what Madonna has to say about saving the world and how noble she is by adopting children from third world countries. We all know how much better the USA would be with Madonna at the helm; after all she is best friends with another Hollywood liberal political force, Oprah Winfrey. To add to this phenomenal development, Madonna and Oprah, clearly are grounded and certainly connect with minimum wagers in this country, after all we all know that they don???t make much money and live in modest housing to remain relatable to the public. Madonna loves America so much that she spends most of her time in England. Oprah loves America so much that she launched her own magazine called, ???O??? and graces its covers every month so that all of us unfortunate working folks can be inspired by her grace and ability give away merchandise on her self-aggrandizing show.

The Republican Party has never been popular with the Hollywood set, and I don???t think that will change anytime soon. However, the public knows that you, Ms. Min and Ms. Wenner, are just employees of the New York Times which publishes U.S.Weekly. We aren???t fooled and we aren???t stupid. Both of you are openly and unequivocally Pro-Obama. You have doted and fawned over he and his wife with a child like naiveté. Your Pro-Obama coverage is a shining example of your liberal and leftist leanings. You are the sycophants that are repeating the pattern of Thomas Feyer, the NYT editor that raves about Obama and refused to print future President John McCain???s Op-Ed because our next President, John McCain did not agree with Feyer???s liberal rants.

Attacking Governor/Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin was the wrong thing to do. Not only have you energized the conservative political base in this country because of it, but you have galvanized those that truly love America and defend it for a living as I do. For your feeble attempts at a political insurgency against McCain/Palin, you will most definitely be rewarded!

    With a decisive McCain/Palin win!

Way to say absolutely nothing about what the lady stands for: which is exactly what the article is asking. When I read the article I say "hey that seems like a lot of inconsistencies in her speeches, I wonder why she hasn't moved to clear them up?"

  • Posted By: jfavazza @ 09/07/2008 5:02:17 PM

Sarah Palin has said that she has not paid attention to Iraq, and that she doesn't know what the duties of a VP are. She will not talk to the news media and is being shielded from reporters by the McCain campaign. She is running for the 2nd highest job in the land, and therefore should be interviewed for that job. If she cannot stand on her own two feet with the press, how in the world is she ready to be a VP? Putting country first means putting the national interest first, and Americans have a right to hear from her on the issues--not answers read from a speech or a script written for her by Bush operatives, but answers that flow from her own knowledge and experience. Let's see how she holds up on "Meet The Press" or "Hardball," though I doubt she'll ever make an appearance on either of them. That would expose how little grasp of the issues she really has, and how extreme her views are,. which the Republican Party is intent on concealing.
