There's an endorsement to remember. And in case we think her past association in this party was just some youthful indiscretion, she addressed them by video hookup earlier this year. In the video shown above Palin says she is "delighted" to be addressing the group, that the party "plays an important role," and wishes them "good luck on a successful and inspiring convention."

The Alaska Independence Party wants to open all Federal lands (like state parks) to private ownership - presumably by the people who live nearby. It also wants to abolish all property taxes. It has a few other pretty extreme views, too.

"Her damned institutions." Imagine if those out-of-context remarks of Obama's preacher had been codified into a political organization - and that he had joined it. Then imagine he had come back and given a speech there a few months ago.

A working woman with a husband and five children isn't thought (by the folks Newsweek cajoled into offering their opinions about the habits of Gov. Palin's habits heart and mind) to spend hours mulling over the nuances of every issue that crosses her mind or desk. Why, I'm shocked, just shocked to learn that this postulated, possible fact. Imagine a woman prioritizing things in her life so that critical things actually get done, rather than kicking back in her reporter's, er, governor's chair, putting her feet up, and thinking for a few hours about what might best done with regard to the current situation in Burma!

McCain says he will change Washington . . . but the Republican platform has not changed and with the addition of Sarah Palin, he has moved more to the radical right then center . . . where is the change. If you look at what he wants to do, it is the same old things that have gotten us in the messes that we are in now! He knows only military solutions and that is never more evident then his sometime bellicose statements on Iran and Russia and the situation in Georgia. His "security adviser" has enjoyed a big salary as a lobbiest for Georgia and remarks that he "successfully" lobbied McCains office four times on behalf of Georgia ! Lobbied for what? What is McCain promising Georgia - I believe that the American public deserves some straight answers on what this country has been doing to "aggravate" Russia!
I believe that Sarah Palin has only Sarah Palin at the top of her list and should not be anywhere close to the Presidential ticket!

She may be considered and expert on energy issues because of her Oil & Gas connections, but what does she know about new sustainable forms of energy? How committed is she to getting off our dependence on fossil fuels? I have not heard anything from her other than a passing reference to "all those other forms of energy" I've just heard she wants to drill everywhere and that she is more than willing to sacrifice the environment to further oil & gas exploitation..

N.O.W. (National Organization of Witches) are being unmasked. They have shown all the world, with their attacks on Gov. Palin, that they are NOT REAL WOMEN. They despise the Gov. because she is NOT a carpet munching FEMINAZI. If for no other reason than the, end of their days....I find her selection, one of the most profound and refreshing political statements, in my lifetime.

We will look back on this .....and recognize this....as the end of The Isle of Lesbos FemiNazi movement.

Concerning Wooten tasering his boy. The boy was curious about tasers and whether he could withstand being tasered - part of the macho image that is loved in Alaska(A moose hunting female governor ...etc).
Stupid to do - Yes, but no stupider than Palin using her governorship to try and help her sister in a custody fight. And no stupider than insisting that only abstinence sex education should be taught in schools and then have your own teenage daughter end up pregnant out of wedlock. And no stupider than Palin belief that the Earth is only a few thousand years old when recent advances in Genetics has proven beyond a doubt Evolution. What we get with the McCain/Palin ticket is a dumbing down of the previous Bush administration. Who would have ever thought that this was even possible.

I'm losing all respect for the Democrats slamming Palin the way the Republicans slammed Obama. So my respect quotient for both parties drops even as both Presidential tickets rise in my esteem.

I'm glad I'm registered Green. I won't vote for Nader in a hundred years, but it lets me see things from kind of a neutral perspective.

Palin's Husband, Todd Palin is not a member of the party now, but he was registered as an AIP voter at different periods of his life totaling seven years. Sarah has never been a member but attended a party conference in her hometown of Wasilla.)

Hickel advocates an "economy of the commons," which would place the state's vast energy and mineral wealth in the hands of the state government and its citizens. In that vein, Palin this year ordered a one-time $1,200 energy refund distributed to each Alaska resident. (The revenues came from recalculating the tax on oil producers.)

Can any one tell me specifically how Obama is going to create jobs if he get elected?

There seems to be no room for Compassion in the Conservative movement. We don't lie as real devote Christians and you seem to not find that important. Are you born again? What is really upsetting the liberals is their fear of losing. How many hundreds of millions of dollars has Nobama spent and what has it gotten him. Six days ago, the media were fawning over Nobama's gallup number. He had hit 50% and enjoyed an 8 point advantage. Now McCain / Palin lead Nobama / Bloviator 48% to 45%..What has happened.

Even Kieth Olbermannn and Newsweek can't help him out of this hole, but you can bet they will try.
