Racist comments such as those below should beexlcuded from this site-- inagine if they were this disdainful of a Jewish candidate. That would be appropriately labeled bigotry. Bigoted comments about Muslim faith--even when applied to the non-Muslim person, in this case Senator obama-- are offensive and do not belong in a country built on principles of freedom. Shame on you!!!

I know it's hard for average Americans to keep track of the endless stream of Republican perverts, criminals, and scandals.

So as a public service, republicanoffenders (website) provides a long, long, long list of Republican criminals from the past ten years...nicely organized by category: Drugs/Prostitution, Corruption/Bribery, Rape, Lewd Conduct, Assorted Felonies, Fraud/Embezzlement etc etc etc...and a ridiculously huge section on Pedophiles, as would be expected.

Looks like only about 400 or so Republicans listed...so it's obviously a work in progress.

That was quite a glossing over job on the Library scandal. You forgot to mention that when the town Librarian refused to ban books Mayor Palin tried to fire her. The town folks then began a recall petition & Mayor Palin backed down. I think a fundamentalist christian who wants to ban books is a threat to our democracy & you should have discuss this major scandal in more detail. She smacks of facism.

Please, we need the best possible people as our President and Vice President cool, calm and intellectually capable of handling our very complext problem in our country and this world. Foks, look at where we are with 2 wars, a huge deficit, debt to China, failing schools, 60 percent of our people are without health care and the comments I see here are about blue/red states. It is as was said, it's one country, and we must work together or my 9 granchildren will never have the life I dreamed they would have here in the USA.

      Amen!

I have read so many comments from red/blue states. This really is one country and we need desparately to be choosing the most qualified persons to be the next President/Vice President. We are voting for American Idol here but the persons that will take on the challenges of 2 wars, a failing economy with now 6 percent uemployed, a staggering deficit that will have us paying back China (let's hope they don't call in the debt) 60 percent of our people (our people) without health insurance, and the list goes on. Me, I want the most qualified intellectually with calmness to objectively make decsions leading our country. I have 9 grandchildren and I am deeply concerned what the next 10 years will bring for them.

Anyone catch Hussein on Stephanopoulos this A.M.? I'm still laughing. George made the comment that McCain had never questioned Hussein's faith. The Hussein response????

"I have never said, Sen. McCain has questioned my MUSLIM FAITH." George said..."You mean Christian faith?" The came the backtrack.

Bet we will hear this replayed about a zillion times.

A mohammed in the White House??? GOD for...and HE has.

What a breath of fresh air Sarah Palin is!! I am proud to have a moral, respectable, smart, bright, ambitious WOMAN, a mother, wife, and business woman on the GOP ticket!! Why don't you write an article about Obama's "contradictions and complexities"? You could fill up a whole magazine!! Or better yet, why don't you just write an article about what Obama has accomplished while being a Sentor?? There's not much to say!! As for "international scrutiny", I am so sick of the media trying to decide for us who will be our next president!! Sarah Palin is not going away any time soon!!

Let's face it, there are liberals and there are conservatives. They aren't going to change their minds. The individual actors are almost irrelevant. There are no perfect human beings. Lets vote in November and do what we always do : drag 50% of the country screaming in the direction it doesn't want to go. This is the nature of our democracy.

    • Posted By: star3 @ 09/07/2008 3:57:48 PM

J, yours is about the most sensible and accurate comment I have read yet. Nothing I can add to that, except, good luck to our country and may the best person win.

WA IN IRAQ is a DUTY OF GOD palin that alone shows me she is mentally unfit as a person lto say the least as an elected official.

    • Posted By: star3 @ 09/07/2008 3:53:42 PM

Alan, what you are REALLY saying is that YOU feel she is mentally unfit, because she happens to be a conservative instead of a liberal, so why not, at least, be honest. She could be St. Mother Teresa, and you would find fault because you are for Obama, well, not to worry, Alan, you may get your chance to live in a Islamic society, if there are enough people in America as dumb as you are.

  • Posted By: KTPone @ 09/07/2008 3:43:14 PM

I think it's very interesting that so many "conservatives" want to make Obama out to be a black radical. I can only imagine if he and Michelle were involved in a sessionist movement a la Sarah and Todd with their "Alaska First" group. Gov. Palin is out for herself first, our country last. I

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 3:50:49 PM

The AIP to my mind is all the more reason to like her. :) Mainly because I'm sick of this political tug of war. Lets let the liberals make their own laws and do whatever the hell they want in their blue states and let Jesus-land conduct its own affairs likewise. Wouldn't that make everyone happy? Or is this really about having the satisfaction of beating down 49% of the voters every four years?

  • Posted By: wujichi @ 09/07/2008 3:44:27 PM

"Palin is not regarded as an introspective or intellectual type... not the sort who likes to mull the deepest nuances of every issue. In that sense, she's the anti-Obama." Ah, so she's more like FDR, JFK, and Ronald Reagan than she's like Herbert Hoover, Jimmy Carter and Sen. Obama. That assumes, of course, that Newsweek reporters actually talked to Gov. Palin's best friends, the individuals in her life who know her well enough to perhaps have some inkling of her inner life, and not the usual criminally mean-spirited and liberally fascistic suspects. A well written hit piece. Job well done.

Go to NBC's website for MEET THE PRESS from this morning and check out Joe Biden when he answers the question about when life begins!! THIS IS WHY THIS MAN IS SO SMART!! He realizes that all people are not Catholic, Christian, Muslin, Jewish, etc...so they may have DIFFERENT views than the rest of us and may not have the same beliefs as to when life begins so he is wanting to leave it up to familes to make their own choices!! WOW! There is that word different, a word that the GOP has trouble understanding!

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 09/07/2008 1:14:01 PM

Biden is a LIAR. He cheated his way through law school, and has been caught multiple times plagiarizing. His son is a Lobbyist, under Federal investigation. He will shoot his foot off very soon. He is a NOTHING of substance, never achieved anything, two-faced piece of crap.

Comments like yours make it clear that this election is about angry white people against everybody else. the "haters" that actually don't want to have a president that's popular with other nations and leaders. do you know how stupid that sounds to an objective listener? you want another president that's erratic with unpopular policies at home and abroad. good job middle america.

        • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 09/07/2008 3:20:58 PM

angry white people??? Do you mean Joe Biden, Howie Dean or Pinky Reid??? The only time they smile is when they get their 10% override on pork barell earmarks. ALMOST OVER though. Guess that is why they stay angry.

ABCNEWS: Palin Media Avoidance Watch: Day 9 -- McCain Camp Says She Won't Do Interviews Until It Knows She'll Be Treated with "Deference."

She can't even take a 3am call from the media. Does Palin plan to hold Russia, Iran, Pakistan and Korea to the same terms?

The person IS unfit for the WH and McCain's poor judgment is in evidence.

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 3:18:07 PM

The moment you identify yourself as red or blue, you instantly make 165 million enemies. The media is not above bias, and I think if I were a politician I'd probably refuse to do interviews with certain ones as well. The reality is that Palin could bend over backwards for the media and you'd still vote Obama, so your opinion is just irrelevant nitpicking. If it weren't this, it would be something else, right?

  • Posted By: hope1123 @ 09/07/2008 2:36:59 PM

hey, to anybody even thinking of voting for McCain/Palin, are you prepared to live with that? More wars,(where are we going to get more men and women? Guess, we might just have to have a draft) more unemployment,(maybe, you'll be the one to lose your job, then your house, ect...) and what about heathcare,(maybe, you'll be the one underinsured) McCain/Palin offer nothing new, just the same old bulls*** !

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 2:39:58 PM

I don't particularly like McCain but I would consider voting for him because it would A) tick off all the liberal whiners and B) cause a certain demographic to riot and burn Los Angeles.

      • Posted By: TheVigil @ 09/07/2008 3:18:07 PM

Speaking as someone who used to live there, I've had it with cowards like you.

You want to burn Los Angeles, go do it yourself. Bring a can of gasoline and some matches. Either the cops or the Crips will beat you until you can never carry a can of gas anywhere ever again.

      • Posted By: thinkingoutsidethebox @ 09/07/2008 2:50:27 PM

Another classy GOP comment!! If you were to have LA burned then you wouldn't be able to vote for the next American Idol cuz I know that is the extent of your intelligence.

  • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 2:41:09 PM

Maybe if we elect enough Republicans the blue states would finally secede from the Union. I'd like that a LOT.

    • Posted By: wilder5121 @ 09/07/2008 2:50:06 PM

You mean all of the rich blue states that produce the vast majority of America's wealth? Yeah...we in the Blue States have often wished the Red States would secede from our America...they're nothing but a drag on us with all that farming and infrastructure welfare. Biggest takers of pork and welfare in history. We never should have paid to give them electricity back in the thirties. Now they're just a bunch of whiners.

      • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 2:57:06 PM

Who needs the red states anyway. You can just ship all your crap through Mexican and let them grow your food.

        • Posted By: thinkingoutsidethebox @ 09/07/2008 3:02:49 PM

First of all you probably shop at Walmart right? Because it is cheap? Turn the stuff over and see where it is made, not the US.
Second, aren't the people of Mexico allowed to work, make a living, bring money to their families to grow food? I don't care where my food comes from as long as I can get the food!

          • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 3:14:24 PM

The people of Mexico can do whatever the hell they want... in Mexico.

I think the red AND blue get what they deserve, and the same thing will happen in November.
So, now you are wanting just blue to leave but in this comment above you don't care what happens to the precious red!
      I am confused....

    • Posted By: thinkingoutsidethebox @ 09/07/2008 2:44:38 PM

ME TOO!!!! It is too sissy to accept all people no matter what color, religion, sexual orientation. It is also sissy to sit down and try to talk to people first rather than just drop bombs on them! The red states want to go back to pilgrim times and the blue states are thinking about now, real issues, and the future.

      • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 2:52:26 PM

The bigger the government, the less freedom you have. In the case of the USA we have 330 million people trying to FORCE half the population to follow a set of rules. We'd all be more FREE and democratic if governments were smaller and more numerous. So NO I don't see any value in 330 million people trying to sit down and "talk". The government is too large to be usable and its exactly BECAUSE the country has become so diverse. I want you to be free FROM me and I want to be free FROM you.

        • Posted By: thinkingoutsidethebox @ 09/07/2008 2:56:09 PM

Um, the president would be talking with other nation's leaders, rather than bombing them. He wouldn't be talking to you or I and I can also tell that you have a problem with the whole diverse thing. That is the real world, remember the old American melting pot? Those were the good old days! Not any more! America is a great idea...too bad we don't follow alot of those good ideas!!

          • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/07/2008 3:09:44 PM

The melting pot doesn't work when dealing with non-Europeans. We're still waiting on certain "lumps" to melt on down. If anything the melting pot will be the demise of the USA as its been the demise of every empire thats ever attempted it in history. But then again Americans have never been big on history. All America is now is giant friggin consumer market thats ever increasingly Balkanized. Peak oil is coming and its NOT going to work out like the left thinks. We'll turn into a third world hellhole while non-diverse Russia takes center stage. Did you know the Russia ruble is backed by GOLD reserves? The US dollar hasn't been backed by gold since Nixon.

So we know she's anit-abortion, pro-gun, and gives good oration. But this article doesn't address one MAJOR point - what did she do for Alaskans to improve health care, education, social ills, reduce drug/alcohol abuse, bring other jobs (besides more oil/gas) and improve overall quality of life there? Where is the article that explains this?

Great job, Newsweek, of glossing over 'who Palin is based on the talking points and what little other news outlets already now.

From the article: "Friends say the Ten Commandments imbued her with a strong sense of right and wrong." 3 sentences later: Similarly, she urged her audience to pray that the war in Iraq was "a task that is from God ??? That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for???that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." help me with the translation: Thou shalt not kill, unless your government say's so.

    • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/07/2008 9:10:48 AM

I have never read that in the bible- maybe I missed it. The Republicans seem to use the bible to spew hate and as a tool of control for their agenda. Christ was/is about love, helping your fellow brother, and compassion for others. I know; there is no room for that in the Republican Party. After all, McCain voted against the new GI bill that will help our men and women returning home from the war.

      • Posted By: UNAROB @ 09/07/2008 9:53:23 AM

        To mccaincursingonyoutube,
I am currently in the military (going on 18 years) and I was against the new GI Bill also. Not because we don't care about our troops (myself) or this nation. It is the fact that all troops get all the benefits after only 3 years. Why is this a problem? Simple. Retention. I have already seen the effects in my own office. Once the new Bill takes effect nearly half my junior enlisted have stated they will get out now instead or reenlisting (as most had previously said they would) to take advantage of the Bill. The new Bill's 3 year requirement will effectively gut our military, especially since the vast majority of kids coming up today would never dream of serving anything other than themselves (thanks to liberal messages). I do not know if the intent of this Bill was to gut our military in a quiet way or a simple issue of trying to do something nice without either looking into the unintended effects and/or not listening to those who knew better (like McCain). The benefits should not have kicked in until say a troops 10 year mark.

        • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/07/2008 11:08:07 AM

You will have a stronger military with new solders enlisting who find it attractive to know that the country they are fighting for now will support them after a few short years of risking their lives for our country. I know it's not perfect in its current form, but how could you ever turn your back on our brave men and women.and say that you support our solders.

          • Posted By: UNAROB @ 09/07/2008 3:03:22 PM

Unfortunately that is not true. Fewer and fewer citizens are deciding to join the military as our youth are being taught they should only recieve and not give today. Most the youth look at every issue as what do I get out of it rather than what can I give. Second, the military today is not the military of old where you only have to be taught how to use a rifle. Today's military is highly technical (which is why it is so dominant in the world) and many troops don't truly reach their full potential until thier second enlistment and now fewer and fewer troops will reach that mark and the overall effectiveness of our military will decline.

    • Posted By: UNAROB @ 09/07/2008 9:48:24 AM

      Libratine,
Perhaps you should actually read the Bible before using it to make a point. The proper translation of the 10 Commandments were "Thou shall not murder". Later Jesus rephrases it as "though shall not spill innocent blood". There are many times in the Bible where it was God's will that those who were evil were defeated by military might.

The further we move away in time from the conventions, the more I see voters tiring of the Sarah Palin they saw at the convention and, instead of winning votes, it will turn out that her nasty, snarky sarcasm tipped the scales irrevocably toward an Obama-Biden victory in November.
