Interesting that Newsweek can write so much on Mrs. Palin's history and experiences as an elected official while their articles on Mr. Obama are much less detailed on things he actually has accomplished. This just confirms what the Republicans have been saying all long Mr Obama, while a good orator and potentially a good leader, does not have the background or experience for the job of President of the United States.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? ISN'T IT FUNNY HOW REPUBS CAN TALK ABOUT OBAMA'S CHURCH, PARENTS, CAREER, VOTING RECORD, WIFE.....ETC. THEN TURN AROUND AND SAY-WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM. WE KNOW MORE ABOUT HIM THAN BUSH AND CHENEY COMBINED WHEN THEY WERE RUNNING-HELL ..........NOW.

OBAMA GRADUATED WITH A 4.33 FROM FREAKIN HARVARD LAW. NOT HARVARD BUT HARVARD LAW. NOT TO MENTION BEING A CIVIL RIGHTS ATTORNEY AND A CONSTITUTIONAL LAW PROFESSOR......

MCCAIN GRADUATED 894 OUT OF 899. PALIN NEEDED TO GO TO 6 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS TO JUST GET HER B.A. AND IT TOOK HER 6 YEARS. THAT'S RIGHT YOU WANT TO FOLLOW THE "C" STUDENT IN THE WHITEHOUSE NOW WHO IS THE WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY WITH EVEN DUMBER PEOPLE.

JUST LOOK AT THE PROOF. THEY KEEP HIDING HER. THEY DROP TROOPER GATE AND THE STORY ABOUT HER DAUGHTER ON HURRICANE DAY. THEN SHE FINALLY DOES A INTERVIEW ...........AND SHE DOES IT ON FREAKIN 9-11? C'MON.....GET REAL. JUST LOOK AT THE INTERVIEW SHE JUST GAVE...IT'S HILARIOUS. LET'S SEE-LET'S HIDE HER, PREP HER FOR THE QUESTIONS THAT MIGHT COME AND THEN LET'S GO FOR IT. SHE WAS COMPLETELY MISSING THE QUESTIONS WHILE ANSWERING THEM QUICKLY. THAT'S CALLED BEING PREPED TO A POINT WHERE YOU WON'T EVEN HEAR THE QUESTIONSAIRRE-HILARIOUS!!

Those of you posting that Obama supporters have cut and run..wrong, we have not... we have other things to do besides keeping vigil over our candidate..he doesn't need babysitting to win the election. In Nov. ,Obama wins.. check the Electoral College votes... enjoy your little McCain party..it will be over soon. Oh, I saw all the insults directed at Obama supporters here flying around. Grow up! I don't bad mouth McCain supporters the way you people bad mouth all Obama supporters because one-, the man I love is a McCain supporter who also posts here and I don't want to hurt his feelings, and two- I try to be respectful to others here.

I know you won't debate me because Democrats like to say they win on the issues but WHENEVER CHALLENGED they run for the hills like the idiots and COWARDS they are.

What's wrong, you KNOW how stupid you really are and are afraid to get ripped into a million pieces by a much smarter, much richer Republican? SOCIAL SECURITY TAXES

Right now an employer has to pay BOTH sides of the Social Security
tax on himself. Workers only pay half, their share!

Obama wants to raise the 12% we small business owners pay on the
first $102,000 of our incomes to $250,000 or MORE!

For any small business that makes $250,000 in income this is a
    $18,000 PER YEAR additional TAX!

This will further reduce new jobs, investment spending toward
the company and possibly cause some employees to be FIRED.

The money has to come from SOMEPLACE! Democrats seem to think
    money grows on trees!

Now Obama said this ADDITIONAL tax by raising the cap may be up
    to $500,000 of income.

So for those like me that will mean $47,760 MORE taxes each year.

This will DEFINITELY cause FEWER NEW JOBS!

    ------------------------------------

    CAPITAL GAINS TAXES

This may be Obama's WORST policy. Did you know that under
the lower 15% capital gains tax rates that MORE TAXES WERE
COLLECTED by the IRS than under the old 28% tax?

Even though Obama has been TOLD this he STILL wants to raise
    this tax.

What it will do is tax any profits you make on your retirement
accounts, savings accounts, and college savings accounts for
your kids. Because you will pay nearly DOUBLE the taxes
you will have MUCH LESS MONEY for retirement due to the effects
    of COMPOUNDING!

What this will also do is reduce money INVESTED IN AMERICA
which means fewer new businesses, and FAR FEWER JOBS.

Summary: Fewer new businesses, less growth, definitely fewer jobs
and also some firings due to this!

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 3:33:46 PM

social security is a ponzi scheme where the poor man loses. It should be folded into the tax structure. Many retiremnet plans are tax deferred, but I don't agree with a 28% tax. A graduated tax capped at 20% seems more reasonable. After all, the second million is much easier to make than the first

      • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/11/2008 4:00:05 PM

Yes I agree with you on your last point. But adding a person's NET WORTH to determine what percentage they pay on either social security or income taxes would be too hard to prove and cost to much administer.

What makes the most sense is low flat taxes with NO DEDUCTIONS.

I have no problem with the taxes STARTING on any money OVER $30,000.

If you make LESS than or equal to $30,000 you pay NO TAXES.

Then 20 - 25% on anything you make over that would be FAIR.

Everybody pays the same percentage and for those who make 10 times more they pay 10 times more.

        That's enough!

As for retirement everybody should have to pay into that and because the benefits are so low, its a CUSHION and not a complete retirement income so its not fair to be taxes MORE than $100k or so.

I personally think this should be lowered to $50k. As a small business owner who is paying $12k a year into social security and it won't be around when I retire or I'll have to be aged 86 to start collecting it, its total BS. It is a ponzi scheme but unfortunately because so many people don't save money its necessary.

The tax rate for capital gains should be between 15 and 25% and be economically ADJUSTED to bring in the MOST taxes. If 23% makes the government the most taxes than thats right. 15% brings in MORE TAX money than the old 28% so its crazy to put it back there and hurt jobs, hurt the economy AND bring in less taxes. Just another reason why I think Obama really IS AN IDIOT!

        • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 4:39:11 PM

Philosophically I agree with you on all points, especially simplifying the tax code, and making the first $30k tax free. However, the 35% cap is fine, and should start at $1,000,000 (only becuase, like I said, the second million is easier to earn than the first, and our capitalistic structure is what affords people to be able to make that kind of money).

          • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 10:56:51 AM

I have no problem with that.

            30K and under TAX FREE

25% taxes to the first million and then 35% with NO DEDUCTIONS.

I doubt any high income earner would have a problem with that and I'm not yet in that group but if I was making $2 million or more wouldn't be too upset about that.

$241,250 taxes on the first million (subtracted first $30,000) and $350,000 tax on the second million.
It would be a net rate of 29%. I doubt any super successful person would have a problem paying less than 1/3 of their income to taxes and its much fairer than it is now.

              • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 11:50:23 AM

That's the problem it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of beaucracies! Once they are in place you are stuck with them forever. It's why I'm against the free health care plans of Obama without FIRST reducing the cost of health care and working on ways of fixing its issues first.

The tax attorney lobby would be pissed about this, taxes would take so little time that people wouldn't NEED them and many would lose their jobs.

REAL CHANGE in this country is probably impossible due to all the special interest groups fighting to keep the INEFFICIENCIES in our system because thats HOW THEY GET PAID!

I almost thing in order to FIX AMERICA we really need to somewhat START OVER and that isn't likely to happen and would be scary if it did!

        • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 4:41:09 PM

social security is a joke in its current form. It kills low wage owners and the self-employed especially hard. I still think it could be buried intot the tax strutcure, and benefits still paid out. I'm also ALL FOR making it like a 401k where we can invest a portion of it

          • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 10:54:06 AM

Yes I agree with this too. It's ONE thing to protect it for older Americans who are already retired and receiving benefits but ANOTHER thing to try to salvage it for those of us under age 50 and give US benefits too.

I'd also allow people the option of not receiving it. It's unlikely I'll need Social Security and don't expect to get it anyway if its around when I retire. Some richer Americans would probably have no problem opting out of it which would reduce the need to raise taxes more on current payers.

  • Posted By: benivarius @ 09/11/2008 4:15:04 PM

You know, it's all well and good to say that cutting taxes for the rich will result in more jobs and a stronger economy. It's just not that simple in practice, and that's where it really counts. As an example, the world would be a much better place if we lived in a utopian socialistic commune where every individual was self motivated to acheive their potential, but it absolutely broke down in practice because it's an oversimplification of reality. With Reaganomics we also get huge national debt and Enron, weakening dollar over time, and a general slumping of the economy in the long run.

Statistically this country has always done better under the democrats when it comes to holistic economics, and you can take that to the bank.

................................Sarah Palin can not campaign by herself because the McCain Campaign knows that she will show herself to be the Unqualified Candidate that she really is when she makes gaffes that embarass McCain. Palin knew very little about National and International matters three weeks ago when McCain chose her because of her looks to be his Public Relations Assistant. McCain and Palin campaign constantly together because McCain has no appeal or charisma and looks....well, like an old geezer. Palin has the looks like she could be be a TV News Anchor and more charm but she has little knowledge that would qualify her to be President at this point. Palin is now being constantly coached on what to say in public in hopes that she will learn enough not to get laughed at before the election. Is this how we want our election process to be handled to give us a chance at a fair election to pick a qualified leader for the next 4 years???

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/12/2008 11:16:29 AM

Palin sounds a lot like Obama sounded 18 months ago. If McCain is elected, he has a better than 90% chance of being able to fulfill his responsibilites for the next 4 years, and Palin will expand greatly on her knowledge during this time. Obama messed up by passing over Hillary.

News and Notes you may be the ONLY Democrat I've ever met that I like.

Even on issues where we disagree you present your case intelligently, with logic and knowledge of the issues which is so rare in a Democrat. Good work.

I think more than anything you've convinced me that we need a new party that fits roughly into the 70 to 80% MIDDLE that doesn't like the Radical Left's Socialism ideas nor do they like the Radical Right's 1 issue on abortion!

I'm for small government, reforming education because if you think America is bad now imagine it in 20 to 30 years as all of our dumb youth who are not being taught math, science, history grow up and CAN'T COMPETE in a world where math and science and computer skills are the KEYS TO SUCCESS, low taxes, PRO BUSINESS, Pro Drilling YET also a BIG DRIVE for alternative fuels so we stop giving our money to Muslim countries that secretly and sometimes obviously want to destroy or change our way of life!

I am registered republican and I am disgusted by the turn that the McCain/Palin campaign has taken. I have always respected McCain as a man of honor and strong ethics, but I now question motives and his actions. McCain and Palin need to stop their smear campaign and focus on how they plan to actually execute on their new promise of "change." I heard very little substance in any of the campaign's speeches about how to turn this country around, especially since Sarah Palin was announced. Hopefully voters will spend time to determine what facts are and what rhetoric is. The last eight years have been dismal, but McCain and Palin fail to acknowledge that it was their party who has led us into the mess. Sarah Palin has been delivering parts of a powerful and passionate speech, just as any good actress could. As a woman, I applaud her hard work for the things she believes in and the progress she has made. But she is not qualified to be VP, and God forbid, president. Her speech sounds like it was written by Karl Rove. It was written by a Bush speech writer, and it was sarcastic and attacking but provided no new ideas. How is that change or progress for our nation? Why is she not allowed to take questions or speak on her own? She has provided no solutions for the failing economy, education, health care, or ending the war. I assume that the people who are so impressed with Palin do care about all of those issues. She can wrap herself in the American flag and she may be patriotic, but she does not have the capacity to lead this country. Stop the mud slinging. Focus on the issues and facts not the fan fair.

IF you watched the RNC you would have caught McCain telling his own party that they had let the people down and gotten off track with what the country needed. He also said that they needed to get back to basics and start serving the country and their own self interests. This is not a shot at your comment merely filling in the information you may have missed. Hope this helps you in your decision.

      • Posted By: cincinnatimom @ 09/11/2008 1:47:45 PM

I DID watch the RNC and the only speech that tried to speak to the issue and same sincere was McCains. The rest of the speakers, Huckabee, Guliani, Thompson, and Palin all gave speeches full of anger and hate. They really should be angry at the current administration and do something to change it as opposed to demonizing the opponents. I thought McCain was the man to do that until he left the stage and the same BS started hitting the airways. He has lost his way or has been taken over by side of the party that purpetuates hate and fear so people will be afraid to vote for change. We are all Americans, so stop yelling at each other....."You Democrats" and "You Republicans".........How about "We Americans"!?

        • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/11/2008 3:02:50 PM

Why SHOULDN'T Republicans BE FULL OF ANGER AND HATE?

          Democrats have DESTROYED Public Schools!
Democrats have INCREASED the size of Government 361% over last 2 decades!
Democrats have RAISED taxes and lost this country millions of jobs!
Democrats use CLASS WARFARE and penalize the hardest working and smartest and give money to the least hard working and least intelligent!
Democrats want our soldiers sacrifices in Iraq to be in vain!
Democrats APOLOGIZE about America instead of LOVE it!
Democrats think America is EVIL !
Democrats want to TELL US HOW TO LIVE OUR LIVES - LIVE LIKE THEM!
Democrats SUPPORT the killing of innocent babies!
Democrats want to keep people poor and struggling so they have a VOTING BASE!

There are thousands of reasons to HATE Democrats but these are just a FEW of them. After reading this I'm proud to say I've never killed a Democrat because I sure WANT TO!

          • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 3:25:12 PM

Some of your remarks may represent a very small left wing part of the democratic party. However, for most democrats: 1) both parties destroyed public schools with our materialistic mindset and mind-numbing TV and media 2) GWB did not veto a single spending bill in the 6 years he had a republican congress wasting our money. He has increased the national debt exponentially 3) many jobs went overseas due to Bush's sloppy method of outsourcing without expecting the other countries to abide by reasonable labor standards 4) almost all democrats and republicans approve of a graduated tax structure. the most wealthy pay 35% now, compared to 50% has recently as 1986 5) It took Bush 5 years to get a working strategy in Iraq. As a democrat, nobody is happier than I am that I was wrong about the surge !! 6) If people didn't love America, they wouldn't feel free to find fault and try to make it better. 7) Almost all democrats think America is by far the best and kindest nation on earth 8) Democrats don't want government involved in our lives, and that includes our bedrooms and our uteruses 9) Many democrats are pro-life but don't beleive the government should regulate our uteruses 10) democrats want everyone to have opportunity and realize their potential, but in some cases a helping hand makes a world of difference, as opposed to a hand out
You don't want to kill anyone, you just want someone to respond to your post. While you come across as a belligerent radical, I suspect that you enjoy hearty debate, dialogue, and alternative points of view

            • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/11/2008 3:51:44 PM

I disagree that most Republicans agree with progressive taxes. They know they can never get them overturned and thus we're stuck with them.

Iraq - Yep Bush messed it up but it was Mc Cain who suggested the plan that seems to be working! Keep that in mind!

Point 6 - I agree with you there, good point. Some of the leftist Democratic ideas are crazy though and almost all economists agree, they would create even more jobs lost, incomes to be lowered, inflation and higher interest rates.

              7) It seems so many Democrats think America is evil and are always apologizing to Europeans for our policies. I rarely EVER see a Democrat say they're proud of America. Most seem to hate it!

              8) I agree with you here, I'm pro choice. But would rather have a good economy. If the economy is good most people could afford to go to canada to get an abortion if necessary. Better than the FREEDOM to have an abortion but NO MONEY to afford one!

              10) Obama's plans ARE hand outs. What makes me the MOST MAD about the health insurance ideas are they don't look at many of the sources of this HIGH COST. Such as trial attorney's suing doctors and getting multi million punititive damages! Democrats are in bed with the trial lawyers and wouldn't ever hurt this group that gives them so much money, they are so corrupt in this aspect. Plus any entitlement program you start you are MARRIED TO FOREVER. I think Government should start by trying to REDUCE the costs of health insurance vs guaranteeing it for everybody!

              • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 4:33:13 PM

In my opinion, the radicals on the right took over the republican party in 1994, and now the radicals on the left wing have taken over the democratic party. Related to #10, I'm all for temprorary unemployment insurance, limited and temporary assistance in finding health insurance and with basic living expenses for the working poor, student loans, job training, etc. I'm not for handouts without accountability, oversight, deliverables, and timetables? Forget it

Yes I'm all for that too.

It seems that what is REALLY wrong with this country is the Democratic party being controlled by the 3 to 8% LEFT and the Republican party being controlled by the 7 to 15% RIGHT wing Christian conservatives!

We need a new party, the party that Ross Perot once tried to start. I voted for Ross Perot which ultimately got Bill Clinton elected. Bill Clinton is a million times BETTER than Obama though plus he looked good due to the Republican congress who forced through the balanced budget, welfare reform, etc.

Hillary would have been a thousand times better than Obama, but her own party snubbed her. Similarly to Clinton, McCain with a democratic congress has the potential to be very effective.

Last point you're right I don't want to kill anybody but EMOTION does get people to reply. I'd prefer to DEBATE the issues but most Democrats on here are so angry about Bush they've lost whatever ounce of reasoning power they had. Very clever of you for catching this!

I do believe Democrats are to blame for the schools. The teachers union lobby IS ON THE SIDE of Democrats. I am not saying school choice IS the best alternative but we should definitely TEST THIS IDEA in many communities. If the results don't prove it then we try to find other solutions. School choice and competition COULDN'T POSSIBLY DO WORSE than public education with incompetent teachers never losing their jobs! As a person who went to private school till 8th grade and then a public high school I was lucky enough to see both and public schools SUCK! Waste of 4 years of my life.

I agree with you on TV, video games, the media and lets not forget more people now want to be FRIENDS with their kids vs PARENTS! That's a bad trend not to mention all the divorces which I don't blame on Democrats.

Bush isn't my IDEAL President, we've yet to have one and it won't be until we have other parties till there is a person in office that reflects the majority of Americans views.

Agreed, Bush and Congress did screw up the deficit.

Outsourcing jobs I disagree, efficient markets always seek the most efficient labor.
Why should an American be paid $80,000 per year to pull levels in a factory vs somebody in
China for $2,000 per year? Not efficient and doesn't make sense, this had nothing to do with Bush
just a downside (depends on how you look at it, personally I like $1,000 TVs vs $8,000 TVs!) of the global economy.

              • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 4:43:15 PM

We need a third political party of moderates. What bothers me most about Bush hasn't necessarily been his incompetence, its his indifference, stubbornness, and arrogance.

                • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 11:08:01 AM

I can't argue with you on this. Bush knows how unpopular he is and he has no clue how to turn it around so has kind of been hiding from the American people. If I were him I'd go on national TV and say I did my best, I love this country and fought hard to PROTECT IT, we haven't had another attack on American soil since 9/11. In fighting for this country I may have crossed some boundaries, things I once believed in that I overlooked in order to PROTECT this great country. Many people don't like me and I can understand why however the economy was going well before the housing market, we did create 6 million new jobs and if you take out all the illegal immigrants people's REAL WAGES after inflation went up 9.6%. I know the liberals in the media don't want you to know the GOOD things we've done.

I hope history judges me to be a better President than people now believe. I suspect if you vote for Obama you will look back at my years as the GOOD OLD DAYS!

                  Thank you!

Bush has very little credibility, and if he came out with statements like these he would come across as insincere. For the better part of the time he has been in office, generally speaking, Bush has come across as being stubborn, indifferent, uninterested, incompetent, partisan, judgemental, narrow minded, sometimes lazy, and not worried about the consequences of his actions. He appears only worried about his legacy, and he will likely go down as one of the worst presidents in history.
The ironic part is that despite this, the republican presidential candidate is very much in contention. As a democrat, I am livid at my party for shooting themselves in the foot

              • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/11/2008 4:29:20 PM

Amazing common ground. I wish more of my fellow democrats would realize collaboration makes more sense than fighting. On teachers you make a valid point. Fire the lousy ones. On outsourcing and free trade, these agreements should be scrutinized and should benefit the United States. There have to be some labor and quality standards though. Look at the China toy debacle.

Career, while its understandable that Republicans would feel bitter concerning the damage done by the leftist radicals in the Democrat party, anger and hate will not solve the problems, and only serves to slow down the process of repair, which is what we need to be concentrating on now. Success is the sweetest revenge. We must put all our energy into making successful repairs to their damage, much like we had to do after hurricane Katrina. I am very much for a McCain/Palin win, but I feel they should be cautioned to back away from over reacting to anything the Obama camp says. When Obama made his "lipstick" remark in response to the one Palin made, I think McCain's camp would have sounded much more classy if they had Sarah say something like "Lets not make too much of Senator Obama's pig remark, I'm sure it was all in jest just as mine was, and was not directed at me personally, so lets just move on and concentrate on the issues, shall we?" That would have shown that our group has A+ CLASS. We're all human and often open mouth, insert foot, and say things we think are cutesy at the time, but in retrospect, may seem kind of cheesy and embarrassing, but, hey, it wasn't that bad of a response, so hope they will just move past it, and not react in a childish way to anything the other side says, but show class in their response. Be above their level.

              Regarding the lipstick on a pig remark;

McCain repeated the folksy metaphor when he criticized Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on health care. McCain was never accused of being sexist when he uttered those words.

**From your post I am sure that this FACT does not matter at all to you!

Right, McCain was criticizing Hillarys Health Care plan . . . NOT her as an individual. I dont know how to take Obama on what he said, but at this point I will give him the benefit of the doub cuz it doesnt matter at this point to me cuz as on of those Independents out there I am voting for the McCain/Palin ticket. in the GE anyways.

BTW, I have done alot of research on Obama and one thing that stands out is that he is a deciple of the Saul Alinsky method (which he learned and established when he was a criminologist in Chicago) of community organization (Obama took a course on it and later taught it) which embraced the use of crime organizational techniques including intimidation and manipulation of people which he has been applying to grow his host of supporters. Yesterdayys lipstick with pig comment (with all his fans going crazy loving what he said) brings back memories of Obama scratching his face with his middle finger and the fans behind him reacting immediately to THAT action. And in both actions (the pig comment and the finger action) it was referred to or presented in such a subtle manner it was purposely made to be vague to cause confusion, to counter anyone accusing him of such a purpose of such words or action, etc. Look Saul Alinsky up anyone that wants to learn all about how Obama has used these technique to manipulate people. His techniques have Obama written all over it. Very scary. Just glad that thru my research I did not fall for the blind faith in a man who throughout this presidential campaign has been running to win this race in a manner that completely camaflauges his true ideology.

People, google Saul Alinsky if you want to know how Obama has become the man he is today and the reason he refers to his community organizor years as the best years to prepare him for running for President. It is scary to say, but he was right. God help us if he does get into the White House. Research folks, research. The media will not do it for us.

    LETS DISCUSS THE ISSUES.

    ------------------------------------
    ECONOMY

To create jobs you have to have a PRO BUSINESS Government.

Here's an Economics 101 Lesson for those of you who just don't understand
    business or the economy!

The MORE regulations you have the FEWER JOBS.
The MORE taxes you have the FEWER JOBS.

    Simple stuff!

    Why is this?

Well if businesses are taxes (small business owners are the majority
of who Obama will rape with his crazy tax plan) we will PASS THOSE
TAXES along to YOU in the form of HIGHER PRICES of what we sell.

If we are in competitive industries where we can NOT pass those
along we will fire some employees and try to get more productivity
from those who are left. There certainly WILL BE NO NEW JOBS!

Obama's $11,000 per year per employee healh insurance plan will
further REDUCE jobs and CERTAINLY REDUCE NEW JOBS!

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 09/11/2008 12:02:14 PM

Yes, many people dont realize that $250,000 (what Obama will be taxing) is not much money when it comes keeping a business going so they will be definitely hit by Obamas tax plan . . . not a good thing.

      • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 09/11/2008 12:23:10 PM

sharenews: You never stop amazing me at your willings to calmly post BS. $250,000 income PER INDIVIDUAL, which is what they are talking about, represents income for less than 5% of the people. How do you think your statement sounds to the majority. Cut the garbage will you.

        • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/11/2008 1:02:34 PM

It will AFFECT YOU. You may lose your job because your boss wants to cut back and save money on expenses. Many companies keep people around that they DON'T NEED just because its not pleasant firing people.

Plus we will raise our prices of our products / services. YOU as a consumer pay that.

That causes inflation which will force the Federal Reserve to RAISE INTEREST RATES. As a person who seems to not have much money you probably buy your house and cars with loans right?

Higher interest rates will cost you $200 to $500/mo more on a $200,000 house mortgage and $30 to $100/mo more on a car loan/lease.

So ultimately YOU are paying for these taxes! THat is the main point that people like you who do not understand ECONOMICS don't grasp and why I'm trying to get over my DEEP ANGER at your idiots and try to help you understand the truth.

          • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 09/11/2008 5:44:40 PM

You are out of touch with reality supposing all that will happen based on your untested theory of what the Democrats would do. History shows clearly that the best economy for the majority has always been under the Democrats. The current problems and deteriorating status of everything is what the Republicans have actually done but you seem to want to avoid facing that and rather deal with hypotheticals. Waste of time guy, especially with your temper and lack of class. Enough for me ... have a good day.

            • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 11:19:22 AM

Ok if this is so EXPLAIN how the economy was the WORST under Carter?

Unemployment about 8% and inflation through the roof!

Democrat polices kill jobs and create misery.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/11/2008 12:53:19 PM

London Prime Minister Gordon Brown said that Obama would be better to lead America out of it's problems. He said that he reviewed each candidates plans and he likes Obama's more. The Republicans jumped on that and basically told Brown to mind his business. If World Leaders can see the truth, why can't Americans see the truth. I pray that race has nothing to do with it.

    • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/11/2008 1:16:36 PM

Firstly Gordon Brown is in the Labour party!

You CLEARLY know little about American politics so I doubt you know ANYTHING about British politics so let me EDUCATE YOU!

The Labour party was created around 1920 and is the principal party of the left! The Labour Party grew out of the trade union movement and socialist political parties of the 19th century and DESCRIBES ITSELF as DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM!

      Read the Wikipedia for yourself.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Party_(UK)

So your LOGIC is that since a European SOCIALIST PARTY supports Obama we should agree with them when OUR COUNTRY IS A CAPITALIST ONE?

Pretty dumb if you ask me, but not suprising that this is the best logic a Democrat can come up with!

I just ripped your stupid argument into a million pieces and instead of accepting it and agreeing that you are an idiot and know nothing you call me a retard. Hahaha, thanks for laugh buddy. For people reading this I bet a few thousand FEEL ASHAMED to be Democrats as the lack of intelligence coming from Democrats on here is ASTOUNDING! • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 10:48:48 AM

That's fine but I'm sure you can understand my RAGE at people who don't pay their fair share of taxes ($9,600 or more is what the average would be) but want ME to pay more even though I paid $107,000 last year and will owe $150k to $160k this year.

Obama supports class warfare which isn't fair as the successful people in America pay 70% of the taxes!

I'll do my best to get over my anger, lets debate the issues!

I agree with this. One more reason to vote Mc Cain as Democrats will be trying to push through their Labor Union Bill "Employee Free Choice Act". I doubt many on here even know about this bill or its disastrous affect on businesses!

      • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/11/2008 3:37:26 PM

Also I think most of the bloggers Obama HIRED (He has about 3,200 he pays for) are using the book

        TaKing
        On the
        SyStem by Markos Zuniga.

This is the founder of the Daily Kos, a radical left wing blog site. I'm a big fan of Sun Tzu - The Art of War
and its CRITICAL to KNOW your enemies. Democrats who want to destroy America and turn it into a Socialist country ARE my enemies so I read the books they read and the websites they read to TRY to get to know how this unintelligent species thinks.

In this book and key to THEIR TACTICS is to Target Your Villain (George Bush), Craft Your Hero (Obamma - King of the dipshits), Exploit Their Weaknesses (Bush approval rating - no Bush III term).

The BIGGEST thing that left wing radicals do is AIM FOR THE GUT, NOT THE BRAIN!

It's what they are taught in this book, blog sites and others.

They can't argue the issues and they won't even TRY to.

Their argument is people are HURTING (True, nobody can argue with that), Housing blow up (nobody can argue with that either except to say George Bush TRIED to help minorities by getting banks to ease up their lending requirements! Democrats won't tell you that one of Bush's FEW liberal plans BLEW UP!) They will say there are 40+ million people without health insurance (again hard to argue but so what, why is it MY responsibility, I went to school, college, worked my ass off and its not GREEDY to want my money to stay with my family.

It's not in a Democrats intellect to DEBATE the issues. I was hoping I'd find an ounce of intelligence from the Democratic side. I'd give $100,000 to debate Obama on national TV. If anybody reading this is one of his paid bloggers pass it along. I'd probably have him TURN repulican right on national tv and in front of your very eyes OR he'd completely break down and sob STOP IT, LEAVE ME ALONE! LOL

    (continued from above)

Many are now saying that McCain-Palin are different but I do not see that. McCains political career has actually been mostly without anything really impressive and has only demonstrated being a Maverick when flip-flopping for necessity/advantage. Palin shows she is feisty and aggressive but also extreme, bazaar and really totally self-focused. They are dependent on, committed to and patronizing all of the same interests that support Bush-Cheney and, for all of the obvious reasons, are incapable of any real change which they falsely offer. In all of that, in all that is constantly coming out, in their attacks on Obama-Biden and in what they find necessary to offer in their effort to avoid the issues, which would expose they are just more of the same, their blatant and arrogant dishonesty is totally evident to any objective and rational observer. The Republican Party is simply not what it was under Ronald Reagan and has steadily sunk to the depths, especially in dishonesty, ever since. The only way to give them the message that is not acceptable is to vote them out of office. My frustration is people just seem not to be able to get out of themselves and to see or admit the very apparent truth. That is it for me - have fun and good luck to all of us.

    • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/12/2008 10:45:22 AM

NewWkDickG I RESPECT you actually discussing the issues and your feelings in a clear and logical way. It is rare on these forums.

My question to you is why do you feel Obama is honest?

He lied about wanting to be a change candidate and he promises hope yet he's now getting negative in this campaign, although after Mc Cain started it.

He lied about taking public financing.

He lied about being against FISA and then voted for it

He lied about being a REFORMER because if he was he would IMMEDIATELY ask for the resignation of Charlie Rangel who doesn't pay his taxes and illegally took 4 rent controlled apartments. The corruption in the Democratic party is OUTRAGEOUS.

Did you know that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae lobbyists gave Obama $104,000 in contributions? They also gave MANY other Democrats them as well as well as Republicans. No wonder now that we're bailing them out, maybe the BIGGEST bailout in the history of America! This is CORRUPTION and NOT a symbol of CHANGE that Obama is lying to you about. Why does this not PISS you off?

Obama LIED about Welfare reform! He was against Clinton signing that bill that required states to reform welfare. NOW HIS ADS SAY HE REFORMED WELFARE! THis may be his BIGGEST lie! Did you not KNOW this or does this lie not bother you?

You may not like Mc Cain but he has a HISTORY of fighting HIS party! Obama has NEVER fought his party and especially not the corrupt Chicago organizations, he associates with TERRORISTS (Ayers) and racists (Wright).

These things and lies just don't bother you, only the REPUBLICAN lies which I agree with you there are many and equally troublesome!

Since both parties lie wouldn't you rather have SAFETY of a tough foreign policy and also a STRONG ECONOMY?

Please answer this email and further this debate. Don't just post and run away from the discussion like so many before you have done over and over.

I watched the Sunday news show and noted the general disdain by the ABC Roundtable regarding John McCain statements regarding Governor Sarah Palin foreign policy credentials as a Governor of Alaska. Everyone thought that comment was funny and there was no basis to support it. How does ABC news reconcile that position with Governor Rick Perry of Texas standing up to President George Bush and World Court opposition to the execution of Mexican nationals who did not have an opportunity to see their Mexican consul. Governor Rick Perry and the State of Texas ignored Bush and the World Court and went ahead and executed the Mexican national convicted of capital murder. In so doing the Governor of Texas conducted an amazing foreign policy that contradicted the official foreign policy of the United States. State criminal law statutes trump federal law and international law. States along the Mexican border such as Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California have had to deal with economic and immigration issues and relations with Mexico on a day to day basis. Those Southern governors do have foreign policy experience. ABC news reporters display their ignorance when they do not recognize the intimacy that exists between states and countries on their border such as Mexico and Russia. On issues ranging from increased trade and international investment, the war on drugs, border security, to immigration, to extradition of fugitives from foreign countries, states are involved in relations with foreign countries. While Washington pontificates and studies issues for decades, states are forced to come up with their own solutions in relations with neighboring countries.

Via NewsBusters, apparently, a poster at the radical nutroot site, DemocraticUnderground, created a fake listing for someone pretending to sell baby Trig on ebay. The faux listing read "Baby used prop newborn boy 3-6 months special needs," and included a description that called Governor Palin a "pushy social climber, unwilling to let pregnancy and children stand in the way of ambition." It also listed baby's Trig's father as "unknown."

Feminist columnist Tammy Bruce wrote recently that Obama just didn???t compare Hillary Clinton to actress Glenn Close in ???Fatal Attraction.??? He actually said: ???I understand that Sen. Clinton, periodically when she???s feeling down, launches attacks as a way of trying to boost her appeal.??? He effectively reduced her strong electoral challenge to premenstrual syndrome.

???Obama himself has condescendingly referred to Palin???s motherhood to deflect voter attention from her successful role as governor. ???She hasn???t been on the scene, you know, she???s got five kids and my hat goes off to anybody who???s looking after five. I???ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out,??? he smarmed.

Why would someone like Obama, presumably from the ???enlightened??? liberal branch of the Democratic Party, stoop to such apparent misogyny in lieu of confronting Palin as a political opponent?

It???s not merely that she???s got a stellar record as governor that eclipses his record by comparison, but perhaps the crude identity politics of the Democratic platform as well.

Democrats don???t see voters as individuals, but as special interest groups. They pigeonhole them into narrow agendas and identities, and anyone who dares to stand outside that is considered a nonperson. They can be degraded.

In Denver, the main spoil Democrats offered to women was abortion on demand, not party power. No small wonder, then, that a Democrat leader Wednesday said McCain chose Palin, ???whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn???t had an abortion.???

Apostrophes converted to question marks in above post for some reason.

Yeah, same thing happens to me not only with apostrophes, but also when I use dashes, so I dont use either one as all the questionmarks are distracting. Think it may have something to do with our setup on our computers as to how these characters are interpreted. ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENS WITH SOME OF US?

This election is too important to be sidetracked by this nonsense. Sarah Palin is not running for President. McCain is. We need to quit focusing on the Jerry Springer Show that is Sarah Palin and focus on the real issues--the economy, the wars, education, global warming, skyrocketing energy costs, unemployment, the failing banks, etc. McCain is part of the party that brought us this nightmare;before this year he was proud to be photographed with George Bush, to be seen as an ally of our current President. So how is this man going to even begin to get us out of this mess? Why would he want to? His constiuency of lobbyists and rich people are doing just fine--it's the rest of us who are suffering. Do you really want to return to a time like that of the robberbarons--a time when the middleclass was practically nonexistent, and working people were basically chattel to be abused for their employers' astronomical profit margins.

The Republicans over and over again use these cultural wedge issues to keep working people from voting in their own economic interest. They are laughing all the way to the bank. The Republicans were in charge of all three branches of government for six years, and they didn't ban abortion or ban gay marriage or make Christianity our state religion or make English our national language, etc. They wouldn't have anything to distract the populace with if they actually moved legislatively on these issues. They need poor and middle class people who believe in these cultural issues to continue to support them even though it means that they get poorer and poorer. And don't think they sincerely believe in these issues as well. Look at the way many, if not most, Republicans live, look at the scandals that Republicans have been associated with--they want the vote of cultural conservatives, but after the lever has been pulled in the ballot box, those voters can be forgotten until the next election when the Republicans will rile them up again, and get folks to cut off their noses to spite their faces.

The Bible talks about straining gnats and swallowing camels. It also says that it is harder for a rich man to enter heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. The rich Republicans are giving us plenty of gnats to strain in terms of cultural issues that we can't resolve through legislative means, and meanwhile we just keep swallowing those camels--the economic problems that the Congress and Senate and White House COULD resolve, so that real wealth could be earned by a multitude of American citizens willing to work hard if given real oppotunities. Just think, we could help some of those rich folks get into heaven by reducing their profit margins and taxing the wealthiest among us at a higher, fairer rate. Vote economics first, and work within our churches to address cultural issues.

Women in America need to do their research. When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, she wanted women who were raped to pay for a rape kit when you went to the hospital. That really sounds like somebody who is out of touch.
I want to give my prayer to all the victims in 9/11 and please remember that we need to bring our allies back and bring the respect we use to have. We need to be a leader once again and not beggers like we are now. Obama can bring that change and McCain can't. He was ready to go to war with Russia. Is that smart? Sarah Palin just received her passport last year so she wouldn't even know what to do if her phone rang at 3am.

What planet are you from. To save America? America is in bad shape right now because of the Republicans. Why don't you come with something better than your right wing insults.
