On Wootens behavior as a "police officer"
On the CNN interview he admitted to TAZER'ing his `10 year old and showed no remorse but instead explained it away by saying it was only a training cartridge that had less than a second of electical activity.
First off I can tell you Wooten was trained NOT to use this on children under any circumstance. To use the excuse that the child wanted to be TAZER'd is NO excuse. He should have lost his abiltity to carry the tazer at the very least AND should have been investigated by Child Protective Services, yet no where have I heard that CPS was involved. To me that smells of internal department cover-up.
Next...Wooten shot the moose ILLEGALLY will he was a WILDLIFE OFFICER which means he knew the laws and should have been held to the highest standards in following them. I have not heard that he was given any punishment for breaking this law (poaching?) which could mean...cover up by his department again.
Drinking beer in his patrol car. He denied this in the CNN interview but in my opinion his body language said "liar" to me. It was witnessed by 2 people and was UPHELD after investigation...yet he STILL denies it?
He has a comment on his personnel record of "Damage to State property" in cases I have sat in executive session on police incidents this is "police speak" for wrecked his patrol car in an accident that was determined to be his fault. He has another note on his personnel file where he was pulled over for "not using a Left turn signal" that is likely this really represented a more serious moving violation because police officers don't usually make a big deal out of failing to use a turn signal to where it ends up on a file. Then there's the fact that this guy has been married AND DIVORCED 4 times. Palin's sister was the third. So this guy at the very least has very, very bad judgement and most likely is a BAD COP who's problems where "handled internally" so as not to bring disrepute onto the State Police Dept and he was further protected by the Police UNION. Wooten should have, in my experience and judgement, lost his badge with the tazer incident, compound that with all the other stuff and I would say that Palin was well with in her power and rights to lean on the Safety Commissioner to do something about this DANGEROUS COP since those below her were not.

loriw, that was a great assessment. I watched that CNN story and you covered everything that I remember that came out of the interview. When I heard he was divorced 4 times that was the icing on the cake. He has BAD COP written all over him. His actions speak for himself.

      • Posted By: independentmomof3 @ 09/06/2008 10:50:36 PM

What does that say about the judgement of Palin's sister? Marrying a guy that was obviously not marriage material - not too bright herself, eh?

Beyond that, regardless of what this man did or did not do, Palin had no right to compell anyone to fire him. That is also against the law which is why she is under investigation. I do not need another President or Vice President who thinks they are above the law. We have a justice system that is designed to take care of this type of issue. Need I remind you that in this country, we are innocent until proven guilty and this man has not been found guilty, or charged, with anything. But Palin has. Wake up.

If you even bothered to read my post....I think most any logical, thinking person would have been compelled to fire Wooten.
And what does Palin's sister's choice of marriage material have to do with this mess Wooten has caused himself? This guy sounds like he's a com artist. He's sure con'd the state into letting him keep his job far longer than he should have.

Sarah Palin is the real deal. As America continues to get to know her and her strength of character and as BHO continues to expose his complete lack of character the wheels will fall off the Dem bandwagon. Pay attention.....you're watching it all unfold right now.

Strength of character, how do you come to that conclusion? During her speech all she did was tear down Obama and the Democratic Party but she didn't give one answer as to what she would do to fix the problems facing this country. I did not hear one issue related term come from her vitriolic banter. She has been the Governor of Alaska, which has less people than the city of Las Vegas, for 20 months. Before that she was a two term mayor of a town of about 9,000 people.

Now I will not argue experience except to say she has absolutely no foreign Policy experience. Now she can learn however being an unknown and under investigation in her home state one would think she would be a little more forthcoming in her policy stance. One would think she would give press interviews instead of hiding behind the McCain Campaign.

How can anyone support her when she has not made her policy positions clear, where does she differ from McCain? What is her stance on Israel, on Russia, on the missile defense system, is she just a talking head for McCain? She will be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, God forbid something happen to McCain, should we not know where she stands on the issues, does it not make sense to find out how she would lead if she were to become President. I will not blinding support someone without knowing where they stand. To do so is very dangerous to all concerned.

I bought my wife a 2 yr subscription to U.S.Weekly magazine last Christmas as a stocking stuffer. I thought she would get a kick out of the deprecating articles about the Hollywood celebrities.

    NO LONGER! Cancel our subscription!

After seeing the slanderous, malicious, attack-driven ???cover story??? entitled, ???Babies, Lies & Scandal??? meant to publicly embarrass Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin of the great State of Alaska, U.S. Weekly can take its communist drivel and peddle it to some unsuspecting victim elsewhere. To be honest, we all know that U.S. Weekly is far from the caliber of legitimate journalism.

However, since it has a readership in the millions, U.S.Weekly, is clearly trying to flex its Beverly Hills political muscle. U.S.Weekly should stick to what it knows best, like what Madonna has to say about saving the world and how noble she is by adopting children from third world countries. We all know how much better the USA would be with Madonna at the helm; after all she is best friends with another Hollywood liberal political force, Oprah Winfrey. To add to this phenomenal development, Madonna and Oprah, clearly are grounded and certainly connect with minimum wagers in this country, after all we all know that they don???t make much money and live in modest housing to remain relatable to the public. Madonna loves America so much that she spends most of her time in England. Oprah loves America so much that she launched her own magazine called, ???O??? and graces its covers every month so that all of us unfortunate working folks can be inspired by her grace and ability give away merchandise on her self-aggrandizing show.

The Republican Party has never been popular with the Hollywood set, and I don???t think that will change anytime soon. However, the public knows that you, Ms. Min and Ms. Wenner, are just employees of the New York Times which publishes U.S.Weekly. We aren???t fooled and we aren???t stupid. Both of you are openly and unequivocally Pro-Obama. You have doted and fawned over he and his wife with a child like naiveté. Your Pro-Obama coverage is a shining example of your liberal and leftist leanings. You are the sycophants that are repeating the pattern of Thomas Feyer, the NYT editor that raves about Obama and refused to print future President John McCain???s Op-Ed because our next President, John McCain did not agree with Feyer???s liberal rants.

Attacking Governor/Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin was the wrong thing to do. Not only have you energized the conservative political base in this country because of it, but you have galvanized those that truly love America and defend it for a living as I do. For your feeble attempts at a political insurgency against McCain/Palin, you will most definitely be rewarded!

    With a decisive McCain/Palin win!

The truth hurts, doesn't it. You will believe anything negative that FOX spreads about Obama, bur turn around and dismiss anything negative about McCain as a liberal rant. You have no idea who this woman Palin is but you just love her already. Boy are you people easy to lead. You all thought Bush was just the best guy to have a beer with and look where that got us. He was a governor, too. Wake up people.

You completely breezed over the comment , "They eloped in 1988, and their first baby was born eight months later". Seems to me this was pre-marital, non-Christian sex. All I can say is...like mother, like daughter. No for me, I couldn't care. Not my issue. But this is one of her's and her key constituencies core principles. Abstinence until marriage. But it failed at least twice in her family.

    • Posted By: Roxcy @ 09/06/2008 9:35:04 PM

Like you never made a mistake and had sex with someone that you regreted afterwards, At leasdt she married the man who she became pregnant by and tried doing the right thing after making a mistake instead of running from her mistake.

      • Posted By: Moozle @ 09/06/2008 10:31:05 PM

No, as a matter of fact I NEVER had sex with someone that I regretted afterwards. Nor do I smoke, drink or "run around." I've been married 38 years, have two grown sons and Sarah Palin scares the HELL out of me. She wants to burn my books, send my sons to war because it's God's will and tells me I???m going to hell because I don???t attend her particular church. Good family values my Royal Irish Ass.

Well fine, then dont vote for the McCain Palin ticket if you have these far out issues about her. As for me, Im sticking to the reality of the research I do on this woman and it says she is one heck of a pick that McCain made.

      • Posted By: independentmomof3 @ 09/06/2008 10:40:56 PM

The issue here is the attitude of "abstinence only" groupies. They preach something that is not working and want to force their failed ideas on everyone else. Everyone does make mistakes which is why no one should be dictating what other people should be teaching their families. If the Palin's want to practice abstinence only, great. Just stay the heck out of my family business.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 09/06/2008 10:33:52 PM

Have you violated HIPAA laws and checked Palin's obstetric records like all the other "cocaine" and marijuana using Obama people? Did you determine by your medical credentials that their baby was not born premature like TRIG was? Do you know that a woman who delivers preterm once often delivers her other children preterm. That preterm deliveries occur frequently when mothers are young as she was.
Did you happen to forget that Obama was born to an unwed mother or that his father was supposedly already married still to another woman when he "married" Obama's mother. Is that OK with you tho?
Last I looked pre-marital sex by people of consenting age was not illegal but COCAINE and Marijuana use by Obama were. BTW this article points out that it was legal when Palin smoked pot in Alaska. I don't think Obama was in Alaska when he was smoking or doing COCAINE.

      • Posted By: swk1234 @ 09/07/2008 3:09:26 AM

Lori, if you right wing idiots would listen enough to get the point. I'm glad she had premarital sex. I hope she enjoyed it. Just like her daughter did. The point is that abstinence fails over and over again. So she should encourage birth control so her child doesn't get a disease and they don't have to kill unwanted babies.

        • Posted By: sharenews @ 09/07/2008 3:32:51 AM

Everyone has their choice of using birth control or not. Who are you to judge. The Palins personal life is just that. Personal.

In her acceptance speech Sarah Palin sarcastically refered to Obama's days in south Chicago this way,"I guess being a small town mayor is a little like being a community organizer except a small town mayor has actual responsibilities". I have news for this extreme religious right candidate for VP, Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a Governor.

Palin may be a suitable Gov, but I feel has spent far too much time in her little world in the north to know anything beyond that. Up until now she has rarely spent a day in the lower 49 except while attending college. It's incredibly naive to vote for someone simply because you have things in common, that is simply dangerous and stupid. I fear for the future of my children and the safety of this country it McCain/Palin win. I will be praying, for Gods will.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/07/2008 11:03:30 AM

Ticket McCain/ Palin can force Obama to make more stupid comments like tire inflation solving our energy problems, and more stupid comments adding up! coming!
Once Obama loses his very slight lead, ever so slender, he will never regain it.
Americans will be reminded that liberals like Obama and Biden feel they must tinker with the US military as a social experiment toy of theirs, rather than utilize it to preserve our nation's freedom and safety!

Who does NOT want to ban or burn books?
Who IS concerned that (for whatever reason) the climate is changing?
Who believes that a woman has the right to control her own reproduction?
Who believes that persons that do not worship in the way they do might NOT go to Hell?
Who thinks is might be a bad idea for Alaska to secede from the Union?
Who thinks it bad judgement for a 44 year old woman to become pregnant while Governor?
Who does NOT hire and fire employees based on religious grounds?

        A leftist is someone who;

        1. Does not believe in self responsibility, 40 million babys sucked out of wombs are a justifiable conseqence. Sex is a right is'nt?
        2. Believes in entitlements over work, why work when the government will take care of you, are you not owed it?
        3. Believes in the word peace as long as it is used against the American government, they could careless about others in the world who are being slaughtered. We should have left Saddam alone, right?
        4. Snuggle up to known terrorists only because they are against Amrierica.
        5. They are OK with the teachings of everything in public schools as long as it is not Christian.
        6. Yell about terrorist mistreatment, but never acknowledge terrorist actions.
        7. Are sympothetic towards prisoners but careless about victims.
        8. Act like your highschool teacher in promoting his dogma on students when he should be teaching.

In 1972 Time magazine had an article talking about the threat of global cooling, that sounded alot like todays global warming. Which is it?

Blood letting was a cure for many ills back in the day, would you do it today if they the scientists said it would help you get better? probably not, but back when it was said by doctors it was the way to go, they did. now in hindsight, it along with many other things are barbaric. Like today with many things, they to swore it was the right thing to do. One must question, are we blood letting only to find out it is barbaric later?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TOP DEM TICKET AND THE BOTTOM REP TICKET:

WHO IS THE TRUE SELF-MOTIVATED (DRIVEN) REFORMER?

Sarah Palin took on the corrupt Juneau Political Machine. . .

. . while Obama turned a blind eye to the corrupt Chicago Political Machine (CPM). He even (of course) gained new 'friends' from the CPM who helped support him in his early political years by supporting him with his campaign.

Hmmm. . . . . One doesnt have to be a brain surgeon to figure THAT one out.

Libsweek puts it in a way that the ultra left can love and feed on while the rest of us gag and choke or worse, the ones that know no better may make choices about who is going to run this country based on bias opinions, that is what Libsweek counts on, is'nt? It is amazing how they seem to know how to write when it comes to Republicans and are very good at demonizing them. But when it comes to Democrats that take up the ultra left banner, they are mute. Let us not forget Obama 20 years ago as he talks about his drug use, that is not important news, but Todd Palin's DUI 20 years ago is and he is not running for anything. Let us not forget that Obama was born to an 18 year old unwed mother, that is not important, but Palins 17 year old daughter being pregnant is and she is not running for anything. I can go on and on, but whats the point, true reporting of the news is dead in America. We can thank Libsweek and others like them for the bias role they take in American politics, it is a true disservice to the American people. However, I'm sure the Liberals love it and think Obama is the answer, so they will never see the wrong.

Sorry to tell you, they found NADA !!! AND Obama didn't try to stifle the investigation like the GOP are trying to do in Alaska... shame, shame... if there's nothing to hide... why is Sarah hiding???

    Palin's energy policy:
To oil companies: Drill, baby, drill.
To the planet: "Burn, baby, burn."

    Newsweek lies.

Not as much as politicians do. A "political gaffe' is defined as when a politician inadvertently tells the truth or says exactly what he (or she) is thinking.

      Inquiring minds want to know

      Sarah:

Do you really believe that Lutherans are NOT real Christians?
Did Bristol REALLY want to keep the baby?
Which books DID you want to ban?
When and how did God tell you that the War in Iraq was a TASK he had given us?

      No dissembling, please!

FYI Moozle, You took the 4th question and contrived it out of context and took a portion of the sentence. If you would care to find the full statement she made it is on glennbeck.com in a video clip where Beck address this statement for people like you.

I just have one question at this point. Does she expect to get pregnant again in the near future and if not, what is she going to do to prevent it? Would using a condom be against her religion?

John McCain, the Republican nominee for president, at the Republican National Convention sternly declared that the last eight years with the Bush administration have been a failure costing America greatly and that the Republican Party has lost the people???s trust and that we desperately need real change. He now says that he is for change (the Democrats long standing position) and that McCain-Palin is the ticket to shake up Washington. Wow, what is going on here? The real truth that clearly dawns is that there is and has been a Republican strategy, like a sick Karl Rove tactic, that is in play, which is simply bold and confident lying. Say it loud, say it boldly and say it often and it doesn???t need to be the truth. They do it arrogantly and with cocky persistence. I won???t go through the long list, actually an unending list of the Bush administrations lies as anyone can prove it to themselves: take most anything and objectively answer the questions, what was said to sell it?; who would actually greatly benefit?; and what would it cost America and the average American? They belligerently use the tactic in everything including attacking any opponent, taking credit, using excuses, seeking support and, as seen now, in campaigning. We even see it from supporters/volunteers/staff posting on the internet. It has been effective, as John Kerry will attest to. But what about McCain-Palin now being agents for change? Well the reality is??? McCain is still totally dependent on and is aggressively cultivating the support of all the same people and interests who supported and benefited from the Bush-Cheney positions and who really don???t want change. McCain, contrary to what he says, in all of his years in Washington has only given change some talk and no action and as a supposed ???Maverick??? has really just flip-flopped when it personally benefited him. And Palin is obviously just their attack dog, she calls herself ???a pit bull with lipstick???, as she is extreme, aggressive and feisty and simply offers little else, including no diplomacy and only unrelentingly and without conscience attacks on Obama. McCain-Palin misleadingly state that this campaign is about personalities, being their effort to avoid talking about the issues where the change is suppose to take place. There really isn???t much hope for the drastically needed change from them, only more rhetoric aimed to steal the Democrats??? thunder ??? and remember even Bush ran with the promise for change. The lies simply continue to add up in an aggressive effort to disguise more of the same. If we sincerely care about anything, then we have to reject McCain-Palin and elect Obama-Biden as the Republicans just don???t do anything but boldly lie!
