Barack Obama once told press that his mother's death at age 53 was the worst experience of his life.

He said, "The biggest mistake I made was not being at my mother's bedside when she died." He went on to say, "She was in Hawaii in a hospital, and we didn't know how fast it was going to take, and I didn't get there in time."

September 10, 2008. The central focus of the Republican's claim is that Gov Sarah Palin is a good mother - so she'd make a good president. Well, our sources learning that she may NOT BE a good mother. According to sources close to the family, her son Track is a drug addict and her daughter Bristol was a "regular" w/ the local guys.

Here's what they say about Gov Palin's son:

Sarah's oldest son, Track, was addicted to the power drug OxyContin for nearly the past two years, snorting it, eating it, smoking it and even injecting it ... " Ive partied with him (Track) for years," a source disclosed. " Ive seen him snort cocaine, snort and smoke OxyContin, drink booze and smoke weed."

The source also divulged the girls would do anything for Track and he'd use his local celebrity to manipulate other guys, to get them to steal things he wanted."

"He finally did what a lot of troubled kids here do," the source divulged. "You join the military."

And here's what they say happened when Sarah learned of the pregnancy:

"Bristol was a huge stoner and drinker. I've seen her smoke pot and get drunk and make out with so many guys. All the guys would brag that the just made out with Bristol."

When Sarah found out the teen was pregnant by high schooler Levi Johnston, she was actually banished from the house. As part of the cover-up, Palin quickly transferred Bristol to another high school and made her move in with Sarah's sister Heather 25 miles away!

It's excusable to have one screwed up kid ... but when you have two ... GOTTA BLAME THE PARENTS!!!

According to sources, huh. Well according to other sources...Hussein Obama is a crack rock smokin' man lovin', accessory to the murder of another former lover...Donald Young. The story will not go away...Millions believe the story...HolyRoller among them.

Hussein needs to address these allegations.

Other sources say he is not eligible to be POTUS, based on expert document analysis. Hussein has been served a Federal summons regarding the allegations. Sources say and Indonesian passport issued to Barry Soetoro support this story.

Maybe he should just do the right thing...withdraw from consideration for office. It would at least let him save some face...he has become the Mohammed Dukakis.

Why does your article gloss over the fact that Sarah Palin has ties with a party of sucessionists (Alaska Independence Party)? There are two videos on YouTube, one a speech made by a high AIP official (while at the 2nd Secessionist Convention, no less) who refers to Gov. Palin as a former member, the other a video address to the AIP convention made by Sarah Palin herself, which supports this claim. Why is a sitting governor making nice to group of people whose goal is to remove Alaska's star from our flag? As she would be a septuagenarian's heartbeat away from the White House, could a person with such ties really be trusted "to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"? And what does this say about the judgement of said septuagenarian?

Long discredited and unsubstansiated rumors questioning Barak Obama's patriotism continue to hound him and drain him of potential support. A viral video clip, taken out of context, made while he wasn't in attendence, spoken by man not part of his campaingn nearly ended his run for the White House. If the public and the media look into Sarah Palin with at least the same zeal as they did with Barack Obama(although given the fact her name is mentioned in one video and is speaking in the other, there should be more) they may find far more than rumor.

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/10/2008 11:50:18 PM

The article "glosses over" her ties with the AIP because they are unsubstantiated.

My comment is about the obvious 600 lb gorilla in the room. For weeks Newsweek has published glossy flattering photos of Barak, Barak and Michele, and Michele on your cover. All were professional and flattering, lovely. What do you put on your cover for the first woman ever nominated by the Republican party for VP? Sarah, in very unflattering hunting clothing, with a gun over her shoulder. Shame on Newsweek for being so obviously biased.

  • Posted By: CJTex @ 09/10/2008 11:09:04 PM

My only comment is the obviuos 600 pound gorilla in the room; When Newsweek discussed the Obamas you had numerous glowing photos on the cover of your magazine of Barak, Barak and beloved wife Michele, Michele herself. All professional and shiny looking. You do a cover on Sarah Paloin and what do we get? Sarah in hunting gear with a gun over her shoulder. Shame on you for your obvious biased and disrespectful handling of a strong and beautiful woman.

It is nice to see that the Religious Fanatical Right Base of the Republican Party finally got their MULE to ride and there 40 acres. To bad the Per-ma Frost is melting and it will all soon be swamp land. But that should make all of the Religious Fanatical Base of the Republican Party right at home along with their little doggies, The rest of the Republicans, who they have total control over now. Move on little doggies. ya all come back no ya hear. Now you all just fall in line and we'll drive you all to market. Don't you worry we won't slaughter you or take advantage of you like we did in last GE you just keep voting for us and when it's all over we'll give you what we don't want or care to eat. Yee Ha head em up and move em out. This is really a pleasure to watch. I haven't had this much fun since the last time they drove you all to market. You have got to admit Karl Rove sure has you all pegged pretty damn good. Just like candy from a baby he'll steal your soul and make you beg him to take it

      Hey Brain,

QUESTION: What is the main difference between a Democrat and a Republican?

ANSWER: A Democrat truly believes in AND feels entitled to a FREE LUNCH.

A Republican knows better. No such thang as a FL.

Joining others in asking what the point is of the 9/15/08 print issue's cover. Did the real newsmagazine's cover get mixed up somehow with the N.R.A.'s 'American Rifleman' one? Or just trying to generate more controversy, as if there isn't enough of that with Sarah Palin already?

Maureen Dowd satirized recently in The New York Times: "Life is always welcome (for Palin). Unless it???s on four legs. "

Poor taste with a print cover again, Newsweek. No subscription renewal coming from me, thank you.

      Hey BoogieShoes,

Just for the record, this Independent is not voting for the McCain/Palin Ticket because she's a good mom. I'm voting for the ticket because the combination of the two is FAR, FAR better than the Democratic Ticket! It's really that simple. Don't over analyze things and make things too complicated BoogieShoes. Sounds like you're upset because McCain put a feisty woman on the GOP ticket. You were probably disappointed like a lot of other folks here that Hill didn't get the Dem nomination. That's cool ... I understand. But for me ....

Here's the real difference between Sarah and Hillz:

Sarah = Smart, Fresh, Camera Friendly, Feisty and Reformer

Hillary = Smart, Worn-out, Arrogant, Narcissist and Lib Status quo

Note: I apologize in advance to some of you early Hill supporters (e.g., Sharenews, etc) that I respect. Although I could never support a Clinton, I do truly respect some of you here that showed your unwavering support for her during the Dem primes.

      God Bless America!

Just WHAT exactly is the point here????

  • Posted By: not_another_american_idiot @ 09/10/2008 9:35:18 PM

I will give it up to the repubs because they are a bunch of sneaky bastards, always capitilizing on the dems flaws. Honestly, they even had me pause for a second when Palin was named VP, because yes, I am extremely angry at how Hillary was treated, not that she didn't win but that no one in the democratic party spoke up about the blatant sexism during her run for the presidency (well except Ferrarra who was also thrown under the bus). The problem is Palin is at the opposite end of every single important issue we are facing right now and there is no way that I could vote for her. Let's be smart ladies and show these chauvinists that we are capable of weighing logic over emotion. In the words of a very wise lady, Ms. Gloria Steinem, voting for Palin because you are angry about Hillary would be like saying, "Somebody stole my shoes, so I'll amputate my legs."

  • Posted By: SCgirl @ 09/07/2008 2:42:56 PM

So it's just fine that John Kennedy filled his cabinet with friends and family and even hired his BROTHER for THE top cabinet position, but for Sarah Palin to do the same thing, it's suddenly cronyism. You turn absolutely EVERYTHING she does into something really bad. It's like watching Reefer Madness all over again. Take an objective look at what you're writing. It is obviousl that the media's darling, Obama, is in trouble and you're scared beyond scared. You are using every inuendo to try to scare the public away. Let's face it, she is obviously smarter and cooler than Obama and you can't stand it. One more thing...somehow the Democrat overseeing troopergate is not politicising, but it is politicizing for the McCain campaign to point out that the Dem overseer has bragged that there may be a big surprise in October. My computer will no longer open up to MSNBC news. I just don't think I care to read more of this so-called journalism. And I especially need a vacation from Olberman's childish antics. So long Obamaland!

Why is it OK for FOX news to have not only shows with Conservative viewpoints but have their people reading the news interject their Conservative ways but when MSNBC has COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN, a show to counteract FOX then it is a problem. He has his own show which means he can do whatever he wants!!

Just like the GOP....all about phrases and quip words with no substance to back it up!! You know it is true, why can't another network have a show but from a liberal standpoint? Wolf Blitzer has his own show he does his thing, Lou Dobbs has his own show he does his thing. Why when Keith has his own show it is a problem?

          • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/07/2008 2:58:09 PM

Like I said, take your blinder off and analyze why Fox news is being watch more than the other network! Without your blinder on, you may see that Fox, by far, is not bias as the other networks.

Question: Why do you automatically call someone who disagree with you a GOP??? So much for independent thinking, eh???

The major problem amongst some of the 21st century Republicans is that the refuse to discuss the many important issues facing the country. They would rather distract with non-issues - anything that changes the subjects to the matters that count.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 09/10/2008 3:38:30 PM

We would love to discuss issues. Barry has no stand on anything...he has flipped on every major issue during the election....FISA, drilling, nuclear power, taxes, public schools, Iran, timetables for withdrawl, etc. etc.

I wish Obama had agreed to more debates with Hilary, town hall meetings with McCain, and more interviews with tough reporters. Up to now his campaign seems to be scripted. Maybe he thought he could win the election without Hillary and without giving us an opportunity to get to konw him better. I would have welcomed the opportunity to hear more of his specifics, but it's getting really late in the game. Let's hope Palin doesn't make the same mistake

      • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 09/10/2008 4:36:58 PM

You have to be naive to not realize Palin is being withheld from all of the exposure like you wanted Obama to go through, that is because they are afraid she will become known. Obama is open, transparent and honest about everything where McCain-Palin follow the Republican strategy to keep everything clouded, to distract from the issues and to be grossly dishonest without even a hint of a conscience. All you have to do is look to see it and of course be rational, and objective yourself.

        • Posted By: News and Notes @ 09/10/2008 6:04:31 PM

If Palin continues to be sheltered by the press, that will be disappointing too. Obama deliberately turned down critical opportunities for the public to get to know him better. For his sake, I hope it isn't too late

        • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/10/2008 5:46:04 PM

Except when he's not being open, transparent and honest. Like when he denied being involved in the Rezko charges.

Obama is the unnamed "political candidate" referred to in a section of the indictment that accused Rezko of orchestrating a scheme in which a firm hired to handle state teacher pension investments first had to pay $250,000 in "sham" finder's fees (Note: he was found guilty). From that money, $10,000 was donated to Obama's successful run for the Senate in the name of a Rezko business associate, according to the court filing and the source.

Rezko, who was part of Obama's senatorial finance committee, also is accused of directing "at least one other individual" to donate money to Obama and then reimbursing that individual -- in possible violation of federal election law (Note: he was found guilty).

Obama donated more than $44,000 in Rezko-linked contributions to charity last year, including the $10,000 donation mentioned in the court filing.

That money was donated to Obama by Joseph Aramanda, a Glenview businessman and Rezko associate who, sources have said, is the ???Individual D??? prosecutors say received the $250,000 in finder???s fees demanded by Rezko. Individual D did nothing to earn those fees, according to prosecutors.

The $10,000 contribution to Obama was given in Aramanda???s name on March 5, 2004, records show. While Obama???s camp has said the senator did not know Aramanda, Obama???s office hired Aramanda???s son as an intern in 2005, at Rezko???s urging.

By now everyone has seen or heard of the Obama Camp and the DNC???s emails titled ???Lies to nowhere.??? What most people probably did not see in that email was the truth about who was telling the ???Lies to nowhere???.???

What the DNC and Obama camp failed to include in said email is that Mayors and Gov???s of states do not request nor fund federal earmarks. The House and Senate do. Furthermore, the vote for funding the ???bridge to nowhere??? or ???Lies to nowhere??? as the DNC and Obama camp are now calling it, includes two votes in favor of said funding by two US Senator???s; Sen. Obama from IL and Sen Joe ???36 yrs inside Washington??? Biden from Delaware. In addition to both of the Democratic Senator???s two votes each in favor, Obama and Biden both each voted twice to deny funding for Hurricane Katrina rebuilding relief.

I guess Obama???s ???Lipstick on a pig??? comment was meant to be autobiographical!

Perhaps one should also note that Obama, the DNC have completely failed to inform the American public that both Barack Obama and the DNC are currently being sued over Obama???s constitutional ineligibility to even hold the office of POTUS, and the fact that Barack Obama was served last week with the Federal Suit and the fact that Obama must answer the complaint.

  • Posted By: not_another_american_idiot @ 09/10/2008 9:00:52 PM

Seriously what was up with Obama's comments about lipstick on a pig and the old fish wrapped in paper still stinking. Hmmm, Palin is a woman and women wear lipstick combined with McCain's old age, could he have been making prejudice remarks right when the repubs started coming up in the polls? and is this more of what we saw when he would throw temper tantrums in the primaries? and is the media still coming to his rescue? Wow.

In spite of that I am stuck with the Obama/Biden ticket because I would never vote for some bible thumping psycho that is willing to sacrifice her own 17 year-old daughters' happiness for her fanatical Limbaugh appeasing political agenda. Local politics is where it's at for me :-) Let the clowns at the National level play their media charades, I'm over it.

    I love this:

"If the selection of Sarah Palin sent the American left around the bend, the effect seems to have been even stronger on the Canadian left. Columnist and author Heather Mallick, a regular contributor to the notoriously liberal Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, writes that Palin "added nothing to the ticket that the Republicans didn't already have sewn up, the white trash vote, the demographic that sullies America's name inside and outside its borders yet has such a curious appeal for the right."

In an earlier column Mallick referred to McCain as a "tiny old hateful man" who "named the political equivalent of his local school crossing guard as his vice presidential candidate."
