Comment: Fineman is a jerk. Anyone that participates with the angry liars on MSNBC has to be a jerk. I wouldn't lower myself by participating in their hate mongering. The American people need and want the truth. We don't need idiot commentators that get chills up their legs when a socialist gives a speech. Fineman and MSNBC would destroy any innocent family to get Hussein Obama elected. They are stooges!

Comment: Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!! He admitted to Joe the Plumber than he wanted to spread the wealth! He said that he wanted to make everyone equal! Is America ready for Socialism? The Iranian president, Ahmadinejad, said today that he is glad to see the end to capitalism in America!! Are you glad?????
    ====================================================================================================

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. Comment: Everyone of voting age should read these two books written by Obama, 'Dreams of My Father' and 'Audacity of Hope'. Don't buy them, get them from the library before they are removed from the shelves.

From 'Dreams of My Father', "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

From 'Dreams of My Father', "'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

From 'Dreams of My Father', "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white."

From 'Dreams of My Father', "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

From 'Dreams of My Father', "I never emulate WHITE men and BROWN men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

And FINALLY the Most Damning one of ALL of them!!!

From 'Audacity of Hope', "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Comment: Palin is not VP qualified and just another victim from this arrogance disease that McCain is infected with.
I have nothing but disgust that McCain has no concern for others and his actions are all show and filled with too good to be true statements. Easy to prove by a quick search on arrogance disease and then how McCain is a perfect match. This is worst of worst in the human race and the Pope labels it an unforgiveable sin.
If it helps add support for this arrogance disease, I am a white educated Vietnam era veteran normally very supportive of veterans, and many years in military personnel and advanced professional in fraud and add a major in psychology. I hope that Congress now investigating Palin's qualifications for VP will get to the root of who caused it and match McCain with arrogance disease symptons and behaviors. It is more common than people realize and it begins in childhood as a spoiled brat and show and tell top prize and soon enough the other children are advanced socially and this spoiled brat develops behaviors to overcompensate and must have power and control and shine above others. This is a crude view and just look up arrogant disease.
I spot fraudsters on site and arrogance is much more prevalent and I just avoid because only hurt happens and I may have said this before but this is the worst disease within mankind and will end by labeling them as devil incarnate, evil, and demon ghosts still alive in human form. It is good to know who to avoid.

Comment: John McCain knew that Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac would collapse, and thereby unjustly burden the American public!

In 2005, Senator John McCain cosponsored the Federal Housing Enterprise Reform Act to regulate the powers and procedures of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.

These 2 massive federal finance agencies had been operating without controls in a blatant irresponsible manner, and had been found guilty in court of falsifying financial records and statements in order to provide supposed justification for bonuses to be given to their higher echelon administrators.

These 2 organizations had been coerced by Democrats, who because of political opportunism, wanted them to grant mortgages to individuals who would be unable to make their required monthly payments. That would be in accordance with the irresponsible Democrat belief that everyone should be entitled to have their own home, irrespective of their actual ability to afford that luxury.

Both of these mortgage lending institutions have contributed massive financial sums to support the political aspirations of Chris Dodd and Barack Obama.

Senator John McCain realized 3 years ago that fraudulent transactions were rampant within these 2 enterprises, and that they would soon collapse if remedial action was not undertaken.

Their bankruptcy would result in the American taxpayers having to go into debt to resurrect or ???bail-out??? these fraudulent Congress protected entities.

As was to be expected, this proposal to institute meaningful financial reform measures was obstructed by the Democrats in the Senate, and the proposal failed to be adopted.

This year, due to the Democrat furor over the collapse of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, the American taxpayers are burdened by having to pay a minimum of 450 billion dollars to ???bail out??? these 2 recklessly managed lending companies.

John McCain exposed and opposed the corrupt lending practices of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.
Barack Obama ???milked the system??? and profited by obstructing reform of their corrupt lending practices.

Democrats have demonstrated that they can wreck the mortgage industry.

Are you willing to vote them into office, and give them a blank check to mismanage the American economy, security, and health care?

Comment: The Obama Campaign Sinks to a New Low in Decency

The Obama campaign, as it continues to flounder and sink in the polls, has descended to a new low, even for itself.

Recently it has launched a new TV ad in which a mocking narrator alleges that John McCain is so out of touch with the current generation because of his inability to use a computer.

The narrator does not admit that the reason John McCain doesn???t use a computer is because 5 and a half years of torture as a POW in the Vietnam war cause him to experience severe pain by attempting to do many of the day to day menial tasks which most of the American population take for granted.

Obviously the Obama campaign does not demonstrate any appreciation and respect for the veteran and current members of the US military!

The obamabot ship is sinking, and the crew are sure grasping at straws in their pitiful attempt to deceive the voting public. Yes, Obama approved that deceitful ad - it is consistent with his decrepit morally corrupt standards.

Obviously that empty suit has no heart, courage, sincerity, honour, and respect!

Do you expect a presidential candidate to be truthful in striving to win the election?
If so, Obama just doesn???t ???measure up??? in that consideration!

Obama is an unscrupulous do-anything community agitator who has revealed his true previously hidden self!

On November 4, you, the legal American voting public, have the opportunity and ability to cast Obama back to that slag heap of Chicago manipulators who permeate the slum areas of that city.

Comment: Joe Biden, the gift that keeps on giving.

Senator Joseph Biden Jr., the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, is an experienced, serious and smart man. But he does say some curious things. A day on the campaign trail without some cringe-inducing gaffe is a rare blessing. He has not been too blessed lately.
Just this week, he mused that Senator Barack Obama might have been better off with Hillary Rodham Clinton as his running mate.
"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America," Biden said Wednesday in Nashua, New Hampshire. "Quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me."
Earlier in the week, in Columbia, Missouri, Biden urged a paraplegic state official to stand up to be recognized.
"Chuck, stand up, let the people see you," Biden shouted to State Senator Chuck Graham, before realizing, to his horror, that Graham uses a wheelchair. "Oh, God love ya," Biden said. "What am I talking about?" But it was the Clinton remarks that touched a potentially sensitive spot for the Obama-Biden ticket. With Sarah Palin's addition to the Republican ticket potentially energizing some women voters, Biden's remarks raised anew a legitimate question of whether Obama would have been better off picking the former first lady as his running mate. One could imagine Senator John McCain's campaign even using Biden's remarks in their own ads to exploit female misgivings about the Democratic ticket.
Obama knew what he was getting when he picked Biden as his running mate: A veteran of six terms in the Senate, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and former chairman of the Judiciary Committee, an Irish Catholic with working-class roots, a guy who had twice been tested in the arena of presidential politics.
And a human verbal wrecking crew. This is the fellow who nearly derailed his nascent presidential campaign last year by calling Obama bright and clean and articulate and who noted that you needed a slight Indian accent to walk into a Dunkin' Donuts or 7-11 in Delaware.
The guy who, reading his vice-presidential acceptance speech from a TelePrompter, bungled McCain's name, calling him "George" ("Freudian slip, folks, Freudian slip," he explained).
The guy who, on the day Obama announced him as his running mate, referred to his party's presidential nominee as "Barack America" and noted that his own wife, Jill, a college professor, was "drop-dead gorgeous" but who, problematically, possessed a doctorate.
The guy who has said he is running for president (not vice president) and who confused army brigades with battalions. Who referred to his Republican vice-presidential opponent as the lieutenant governor of Alaska.
Aides to Obama said that Biden's propensity to misspeak could pose problems, particularly in the vice-presidential debate on Oct. 2. They are watching his performance on the trail warily, but so

Comment: Considering Republican Presidents have appointed 7 of the current 9 Supreme Court Justices, 5 of the last 7 Presidents have been Republicans, and until 2 years ago, controlled both houses of congress, I understand why so many voters feel the Republican Party represents their interests. With all the prosperity the Republicans have brought to our nation, I don't blame them for sticking with what they see as the party that represents their values. (I admit to being an east coast liberal "elitist" with a Masters Degree and 100K salary). When the last bank has failed, home foreclosed, bankruptcy filed, maybe voters will................, no, regardless of all evidence to the contrary, they will still vote Republican under the mantra of "values".

    sad.

Comment: Comment: I don't hate Sarah Palin, but I will not vote for her and I don't want her to have power over my life or the lives of my children. My distaste for her stems from her views, not her sex. I do not believe that women or children who are raped or the victims of incest should have to bear the offspring of such union; I do not believe that Creationism is appropriate in the science class; I don't believe in shaping courts to fit the private views of
the person who happens to be in charge; I abhor croneyism and the sacking of qualified people who do not agree with the boss. I don't like people who lie unashamedly and repeat untruths over and over again. I don't like sneers against community organizers or education. I don't think assuring everyone that your daughter will get married because she is pregnant is admirable or a solution to bad advice. I don't like people who hold up their parenthood as a big part of their resume and then cry 'foul' if anyone takes a closer look at the nature of that parenthood. I don't like people who claim that drilling offshore will solve our energy problems and repeat mantras they know to be untrue so that they can get into a position of power. That is not putting the country or the american people first.
Anyone acting the way she has done would earn my disapproval and dislike and male or female I do not want him/her in positions of power on the national stage. Obama as head of the Harvard Law Review had his pick of safe, high paying jobs anbd elected not to follow that path. I sincerly believe that while Palin's ambition is self motivated above all else, Obama believes that we can work towards making the world as we know it could be and as President he will be instrumental in turning that dream into reality.

Comment: Palin should not be an elusive target at all, as all her claims of fiscal reform and energy policy expertise are clearly and factually false. Voters need to know that, while making hollow claims to oppose earmarks, Palin brought home more bacon than went to any other state -- twenty times as much federal pork per Alaska citizen as went to the average American. Her claim to have "stood up to big oil" is also false -- she did represent the interests of Alaskans in tapping a small share of the oil giants' windfall profits, but most Americans are not profiting from high oil prices -- we, and the economy, are suffering. The more Americans know about Palin's actual record, the better the Dems will do.

Anyone who has a brain and knows how to use it, sees through the attacks that come from the dems, and the reps. Look at the people running for office....do they represent you and what you want for our country? If so, then vote for them, if not, then vote for other guy. It is simple! This is not a popularity contest people! This a run for the most important offices in our country. All BS aside, the only two people that will represent America in a proud way and look after the people, as it should be, is McCain/Palin! Obama/Biden will only follow the lead of those who have put them in the position they are in, not the American People! Wake up and smell the coffee!!!

    Comment: To all men:

Please stop commenting on abortion, a teenager's pregnancy or pregnancy resulting from rape and incest. Unless you are the perpetrators - you have no concept of anything. You have no idea what it is like to be incested, raped or becoming pregnant, especially when your mother is staunchly pro-life. You don't know what went through Bristol Palin's mind (or the circumstances of her getting pregnant) or Gov Palin's mind during her pregnancy with Trig -- some of you were accusing her of never being pregnant. It's disgusting.

None of you have been pregnant. None of you have had to make a choice and none of you can understand what goes through a teenager's or adult women's minds. It's disgusting what you are writing here. It's pure ignorance and hypocrisy. How many of you men out there who can pontificate and make judgments had sex before you were married? How many times did you have sex with a teenage girl? How many of you used contraception? How many of you got your female partner pregnant? How many of you ran away and never took responsibility? How many of you would want your teenaged daughters and granddaughters reading your words - whether they were pregnant or not? And those of you who are discussing and making judgments and insensitive and caveman comments about a child with a special soul should be ashamed of yourselves. Do you realize that Gov Palin's children have access to your words? And for you cavemen, people with Down's Syndrome can read and Trig may someday read your words about him, his sister and his mother. It's absolutely appalling.

Discuss the issue of pro-choice and pro-life as just that: issues. Do not render judgment on teenagers or mothers or anything else. And those of you who are throwing around the words: rape and incest are beyond disgusting. Those words mean a great deal to one who has been.

Comment: System88, your words are load and clear. But one thing you must remember that there are men out there that have been rape by other men AND by women, though not heard of because of all that often because of male pride. And incest can happen to male children as well as female children.

I do understand what the core meaning of your words and I agree with you.

Society has moved on.... gays are marrying, in vitro fertilization is putting so many fetuses inside women that some of them pretty much HAVE to be aborted. Abortion is a part of society now.

It's here whether the right likes it or not. Nobody is taking it away. But you can't make everyone like it.
So quit talking about it like you are going to lose it. Even if Roe V. Wade was overturned, no state in the union would stop it. It's just a tired scare tactic used by lefties that don't know what they are talking about.

Comment: You should write one to the women too. The amount of hate and filth is unbelievable. It's 9/11. Might you all take a night off and think of and pray for the children who are fatherless and motherless and the people who never got to become mothers or fathers because they were murdered by pure evil seven years ago. You might also want to remember the foreign nationals who were also murdered on that day. Wasn't there enough hate spread then? Is there a need to continue it on this day of remembrance? Remember the brave souls who were not in the planes or Twin Towers but went in at their certain peril to save their fellow humans. Think of their families. Why not use your blogging time to go to the many sites and leave a message of hope, gratitude or love for those whose lives changed immediately and forever the moment that evil struck. Thank you for listening. God bless you. And God Bless America.

Comment: ==indeed, her newfound celebrity has made even Obama look dull==

Newsflash. For the nonmesmerized masses the messiah has always been a dullard and a fraud. Now his cult followers in the MSM are getting a glimpse into their own mancrush madness. He's lost his barrock star and novelty status and no more covers for him. It's hysterical. He's gone from the popular cheerleader back to (the first black) president of the chess club and library monitor. Who in the hell put him in front of all those books? Can he get any more eccentric elitist Harvard professor lecturing to the bitter students? Who is running this campaign? Axelrod is so far out of his league it's laughable. His ego is only slightly outmatched by the messiah's. Where's Jame Carville and other Pres Clinton operatives who have actually and successfully taken on the GOP machine - something the messiah and his minions have absolutely no experience with. Hello. He's ties with republican who would follow 8 yrs of disaster. Whose fault is that? And where's the "youth vote" now that school started? Oprah? Govs Napalitano & Sebulius? Sens Klobuchar & McCaskill? Asking where "Hillary" is. And Caroline Kennedy and Barbie Pelosi? They don't care if their chosen wins - they just wanted Sen Clinton not to. Where's Judas? Out working the Latino vote? Wasn't that why he was called on? Or was that just another of the messiah's revenge moves? How many have panned out? Word to Sen/Pres Clinton: Don't go anywhere near the rotten sushi wrapped in his own messiah complex. What goes around comes around -- even to Jesus the community organizer. Pontius Pilate from Alaska? HIs surrogates have gone mad trying to stick up for the skinny geeky smart kid. If only you/he would have listened to the non cult followers...

Comment: Howard Fineman: Gov Palin is freaking all you messiah manlovers out. You got to see what real charisma and hope looks like -- not crying mesmerized followers shouting in unity Change! Well they got their change and now they're waa-waa-whining instead of baa-baa-bowing to the chosen one.

==And as a woman and the mother of five, Palin is an opponent whom male rivals need to be careful about attacking.==

Do you realize what you are saying? A woman and mother of one it's ok to attack? Add four more children and it's not ok? What have they already done? Her child has forever been changed by what KOS and the rest of you pigs did - lipstick or not. And yes that was intended just as delivered. The MSM selectively leaves out the old fish comment. You think voters are morons? The MSM's bias and sexism is on full display and you can't explain it away as it's just THAT woman. You really are a pathetic "man". Biden out there on the stump pandering to women saying Hillary is qualified to be president and certainly VP and that she was a better pick than him. Duh. Coming from him is worthless. It has to come from the messiah himself. Look how he runs to Pres Clinton now that he's tanking. What a loser. And the MSM is all over Sen Clinton to get out and attack Palin and do this and do that. Is she back on the ticket? What in the hell does she owe him for his trashing her for 19 months? He was too arrogant to pay down her debt and now he's running to her donors to beg. Well they begged for respect (not just a request for their rolodex) and were dismissed. Sen Clinton still hasn't been respected. The Clinton's came forward and did everything anyone could ask during the convention even after they were bashed for 19 months and especially the week before the convention. And what did the messiah in his own mind do? He couldnt look Sen Clinton in the eye (he really does have issues with powerful white women) and gave them both 17 words of "lavish praise" in his styrofoam speech for the ages. Which by the way was out rated by a 72 y/o man and equaled by a typical white women governor from Alaska. And now he needs the Clintons and the MSM is wondering why they're not out there everyday campaigning for the arrogant one. Hello has the Transcender of Race and self-proclaimed unifier reached out to the black community like Sen Clinton did hers. NO. That says it all about the messiah's "judgment". It proves once again that his words are just that. That Philly speech? Guess he didn't think it applied to him - just one for the textbooks. Everyday he shows more of his (lack of) character and falseness of authenticity. He is not a man of the people because he is not interested in them as people just as an audience he can rise above and pontificate to.

Comment: Obama stuck to the facts, except when he stretched them during his acceptance speech.

Obama reassured voters that he can pay for all his spending proposals:

Obama: Now, many of these plans will cost money, which is why I???ve laid out how I???ll pay for every dime ??? by closing corporate loopholes and tax havens that don???t help America grow.

This is misleading. Even by his own campaign???s estimates, closing corporate loopholes and tax havens won???t pay for all of Obama???s new plans. In July, the campaign told the Los Angeles Times that they estimate the yearly cost of their proposed tax cuts at $130 billion. They put revenue from closing tax loopholes at just $80 billion. Obama also proposes to raise taxes to pre-Bush levels for families earning more than $250,000 a year and singles making more than $200,000, yielding additional revenue. But he didn't mention that in his speech.

According to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, "without substantial cuts in government spending" Obama???s plan ??? "would substantially increase the national debt over the next ten years."
Obama twisted McCain's words about Afghanistan, incorrectly implying that McCain saw no need for more troops there.

Obama: When John McCain said we could just ???muddle through??? in Afghanistan, I argued for more resources and more troops to finish the fight against the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11

Actually, McCain said in 2003 that the U.S. "may" muddle through, not that we could or would. He also said he was very concerned about a rise in al Qaeda activity there. He said then that he was "guardedly optimistic" that the government could handle it.

    • Posted By: neocon @ 09/11/2008 4:22:47 PM

      Comment: part II:
Obama said: ???I will cut taxes ... for 95 percent of all working families.??? And he said McCain proposes ???not one penny of tax relief to more than 100 million Americans,??? a claim his running mate, Joe Biden, made the night before.
Obama used a clumsy attempt at humor by McCain as evidence of his supposed insensitivity to middle-class economic realities:

Obama: Now, I don't believe that Senator McCain doesn't care what's going on in the lives of Americans; I just think he doesn???t know. Why else would he define middle-class as someone making under five million dollars a year?

What McCain actually said at the Saddleback Church forum on Aug. 16 was that he favors low taxes for all income levels. He drew a laugh, then said, "but seriously" as he struggled to make his point:

Pastor Rick Warren, Aug. 16: [G]ive me a number, give me a specific number - where do you move from middle class to rich?

McCain: I don't want to take any money from the rich ??? I want everybody to get rich. ... So, I think if you are just talking about income, how about $5 million? But seriously, I don't think you can - I don't think seriously that - the point is that I'm trying to make here, seriously ??? and I'm sure that comment will be distorted ??? but the point is that we want to keep people's taxes low and increase revenues.

Obama gave only half the story when he described a feature of McCain's health care plan:

Obama: How else could he offer a health care plan that would actually tax people???s benefits...

McCain proposes to grant families up to a $5,000 tax credit to use for health benefits. The flip side of that proposal, which McCain seldom if ever mentions, is that the value of employer-sponsored benefits would also become taxable. Both candidates are trading in half-truths here; McCain talks only about the pleasurable side of his plan, while Obama's speech mentioned only the painful aspect. Neither gives a complete picture.

Obama painted McCain as a Republican partisan who's supported the unpopular President Bush consistently:

Obama: And next week, we'll also hear about those occasions when he's broken with his party as evidence that he can deliver the change that we need. But the record's clear: John McCain has voted with George Bush 90 percent of the time.

Obama also pulled some sleight of hand when he stated that "the average American family" saw its income "go down $2,000" under George Bush. That's not correct. Census figures show average family income went down $348.

As it turns out, when Obama said "average family income," he didn't mean "average," and he didn't mean "family," either. An Obama aide says he was really referring to median income ??? which is the midpoint ??? and not to the average. And Obama was talking only about "working families," not retired couples.

For all families, median family income actually inched up under Bush by $272.

Comment: Have you read barry's book about dreams of a father he never knew? Here's a few quotes that might give you a little insight into his thoughts on typical white folks:

"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

"That hate hadn't gone away, blaming white people - some cruel, some ignorant - sometimes a single face, sometimes a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.'

"Never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, the son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself."

'Our rage at the white world needed no object, he seemed to be telling me, no independent confirmation; it could be switched on or off at our pleasure."

"I ceased to advertise my my mother's race at the after of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

"That's just how white folks will do you. It wasn't merely the cruelty involved; I was learning that black people could be mean and then some. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our bitter laughter. It was as if whites didn't know they were being cruel in the first place. Or at least thought you were deserving of their scorn. White folks."

"Ray assured me that we would never talk about whites as whites in front of whites without knowing exactly what we were doing."

      And my fav:

"IN FACT, WHITES ARE SO HEARTLESS AND DEVIOUS THAT WE CAN NO LONGER EXPECT ANYTHING FROM THEM."

go to you tube and hear him read them himself. You won't hear the sentence about ceasing to advertise his mother's (and his and his children's 1/4 white) race. Or the last quote about the devious and heartless (and bitter?) "whites".

rant away if it will make you feel better...his words will remain his words.

The "lesser" jobs are important too. They keep America going. Obama has a vision of unity. He's not just looking out for self, or a group on some higher level. He understands the importance of America united, and working as a team. The rich should help the poor, and programs should be in place to encourage those less fortunate to strive for a greater success... in no way a free ride. Lazy? Is that what you think? Let me guess trust fund baby?? And you call THEM lazy? Ever watch "30 days on minimum wage"?
I am a mother of 5. I guess we are considered a lower income family.. but I have developed my own business, started a scouting troop, guided a paralyzed man to a painting career (he now makes 200k), and my children are all honor roll and active in sports. I feel rich, and we are a hard working family. I also feel like most Americans are just like us. Hard workers, with common goals. Although I'd like to add that even though I have small town values, and a strong work ethic, even an interest in politics; I would not be even thinking of becoming VP. That job is for someone with much greater political knowledge, and experience. Palin had an impressive speech. Dare I say I liked her at first impression. But like they said; "..wait 'till you get to know her." Yeah, she's high minded, a liar, and I think she justifies her actions and beliefs because God probably told her what to do. I love God, but there is a reason we have seperation of Church and State. We have to safeguard, and not become like so many other countries with all of the "holy wars". That's a huge reason why we are different. FREE

Since they were young teen agers, I stated to them i would have them have a aboration instead of bringing a unwanted child into this world that would have a hard life with a young mother. I put them on the pill and educated them myself and they also learned other things at school. As parents we have to help our kids. No one should tell us what to do with our bodies. Palin is just saving face with her problem of a teenager being pregnant. I really shows how she takes care of her family and not being open enough to teach her child about protection or maybe her daughter couldnt talk to her to busy running a state instead of family. If you cant take care of your family how can you take care of a country.

Not all of us want our daughters to spend their youth getting laid as their primary goal and then killing the unwanted baby as a back up plan. There are other ways to "help our kids."

Sarah Palin is doing a fine job taking care of her family, even though her daughter made a huge mistake. She is standing behind her daughter and not loading her up in the Prius for a happy little ride to the abortion clinic. You liberals always think life's problems can be cured instantly and painlessly. That's why you are so pro entitlement.

How about just doing the right thing or paying the consequences for your mistakes? Take some responsibility and learn that there is more to life than teaching sleaze to our daughters.

Of course your kids are "enjoying life to their fullest"... you have taught them that it's all one big party with no punishment for our errors. Congrats on helping to dumb down the next generation while reinforcing your message that women don't deserve to excel in government because they are merely sex objects. How very democrat of you.

Obviously something was missing for her daughter to get knocked up. Yeah, she gave birth to a Downs baby...great for her, A lot of women have. It's their choice and THAT'S what this is about.....choice. Your hero wants to take away that choice. I would rather my children be educated about sex, be on the pill and whatnot that having children raising more chldren. THAT'S what is ruining our country. Same with Bristol. A child should not be raising a child. Actually the PEOPLE shouldn't be raising it since we essentially are.

Okay, I understand that you support baby killing. How convenient for you. But bragging about taking your pregnant child to an abortion clinic means that you failed at something else but are willing to fix it with legal murder. There is nothing new about teenage pregnancy, but how the teenagers parents counsel the teen tells us a lot about not just the future of the baby (that you think is disposable), but of the morality and future of the teenager and parent.
Do you really believe the GOP is after your ability to kill a baby? It's too late for that. Keep killing them, enjoy yourself. Overturning Roe V. Wade could happen, but the states won't touch it afterwards. We are living in a society that is starting to allow gays to get married. Given that sort of liberal "progressiveness", I think it's safe to assume that the moral issues of abortion are water under the bridge that passed by a long time ago.

Comment: Yes, I support the right for a woman to choose. You can frame it whatever way you want, but it is still a choice. And that commenter was not "bragging" as you so callously suggested. She was stating that she has made the choice to inform her children of all of their choices and was being proactive. Obviously, you would not make the same choice. If more children such as Bristol were really truly informed and aware then maybe they wouldn't be making the mistake of having sex while they are still children. At least this mother chose to act with current information and didn't wait for someone else to inform her child of consequences. You cannot blame the teenage pregnancy rate on either political party either. It affects us across the board. But you can blame the parents who allowed this situation to happen. Yes, I said allowed. You do not defend with any rational thought. Instead you attack someone's beliefs or circumstances and choose words filled with hate and violence. God help us all if YOU have children.

Comment: Were you ever 17? Did you know what it took to get pregnant? What 17 year old doesn't? But yet, it still happens. Blame parents all you want but once a kid is old enough to drive you really don't have much choice but to hope that you taught them enough about life, then worry until they get home.

I stand by what I said to the teacher that was so proud of her choice to support genocidal care of her grandchildren: Teach your kids the best you can, but let them know that they have to stand by their mistakes and face the consequences. I can't imagine telling a daughter "it's okay honey, we will just swing by the abortion clinic on the way back from Starbucks." Go ahead and raise your kids however you see fit, that's your business. But don't expect me to approve of yours or other peoples bad choices, and don't expect me to pay for them. Your last little shot at me asking God to help us if I have children... my kids are being raised just fine, thank you. They understand the costs of freedom and self sufficiency. All pleasure comes with a price, and not all problems are fixed with a trip to the doctor.

Comment: quite a few problems are solved by education though. In countries which supply a good network of sex education and contraceptives and education to teens the number of abortions are much lower than here. I think the whole Palin's prenant daughter and getting married so that makes it alright, smacks of hypocrisy and lack of real coming to grips with the realities of people's lives. Teaching only Abstinence as a means of contraception doesn't really work. Age appropriate sex education does work, and also works to stop the spread of STD's which I believe are more prevalent in Alaska than in any other state. I know it's a generalization, but by and large, women would rather not have abortions and if they feel driven to having one never do so lightly or carelessly.
please don't laud Palin for making the choice to have a down's syndrome baby, when she would not allow that choice to other women.

Comment: A couple of things: #1 Do all of you know that Obama is half white, and grew up in my great state of
Hawaii. # 2 Gov Lingle (also a woman) was asked by McCain to be VP and she refused. She must
have known it was just to be used by him and his lies and cheating. McCain is only using Palin to hopefully
win the womens vote of our great country. But if us women really are smart , we wont fall for this BS and I as a 51 year old woman I will never fall for this BS. And if anything would happen to McCain, oh may god Palin would become Pres, that would really be the biggest mistake voters would have made in this country.

Comment: A woman hating woman? How strange. Just because you don't see the potential in yourself for greatness, that doesn't mean that ALL women belong in the kitchen and laundry room. Don't sell Sarah Palin short.... she might be a fine president after McCain serves his two terms.

      • Posted By: Stac73 @ 09/11/2008 12:47:38 PM

Comment: You are obviously ignorant. Using your same language...typical of a Republican. I am a woman, I don't like Palin and didn't like Hillary either. It's not because I hate women moron, it's because I am also educated and read up on the background of the candidates and find out where they stand on the issues I am interested in. This woman doesn't have a great track record and everyone is making such a big deal over the fact that she's a woman. BFD in my book. She has on too many occasions, flipped her stance for votes. Same as with McCain now. They NEVER had anythign in their campaign about change now all of a sudden it's all about change. Please. She may have boosted the ratings for him now, but we still have 2 months. More people need to get educated on the candidates instead of going for popularity. And if by chance she did become pres....lord help us all. Why don't you do us all a favor and just not respond. You sound like a cave man anyway.

        • Posted By: Floridave @ 09/11/2008 3:40:07 PM

Comment: Talk about typical lefties.... you don't just want me to not respond, you lefties would rather conservatives just fell off the face of the earth so you could live your Godless lives, kill babies, marry within your sex, enjoy abortions, legalize drugs, give more rights to pedophiles and terrorists, and get rid of the military.... Sorry honey, but it's a democracy. Luckily your party hasn't organized well enough to totally ruin America, but hang in there... your day will probably come. Until then keep calling people with opposing opinions "morons" and "cave men." It just reminds people like me of the general mentality of people like you. I forgive you.

By the way, you are right on the money with the BFD remark regarding Palin's sex. Who cares? It obviously was a gimmick to counter the whole "Wow! look how smart that black guy is!" move the lefty's made. What is amazing about it is that it is working beautifully. It made Obama and his pick look asleep at the wheel, it made Hillary matter less, and it somehow made a 72 year old man seem more hip and vital. I would have probably voted for McCain no matter who he picked... who cares about veeps? The whole idea of picking a vice president is to get someone that will not offend your party, and hopefully deliver a specific state, or in this case, a particular breed of voter. McCain had nothing to lose with her, and has obviously gained a lot. Thanks for pointing that out.

Comment: Why should Biden have to be careful with Sarah the Barracuda? She can be a Barracuda, a pitbull with lipstick. This is all self-proclaimed! Isn't it more sexist to treat her like a girl? And I'm a girl asking this! I say give it right back! They want to claim sexism at every turn but turn her lose when it suits them. This is too ridiulous for words!

Comment: Kudos to Fineman for putting some good journalism fact-finding behind the Sarah Palin bio. She inherited a balanced budget in Wasilla and left the town $22 million in debt (but they have a great sports complex they can't afford to maintain). She was for the Bridge to Nowhere boondoggle and then she was against it but she was consistently for grabbing federal funds and she kept them. It doesn't matter whether she built the bridge, she kept the bucks. She's actively hurt education efforts in Alaska. But most important --People close to her -- those that even admire her-- say she's not VP material. Why? Because although she may be great on the stump, she doesn't like to be bothered with too many facts before she makes a decision. She's "disengaged" --that's the term they use. She prefers to make "gut" decisions quickly. She invokes "divine will" when her earthly arguments fail. This sounds disturbingly like the the current President, George W. Bush. The man who didn't get engaged in the details of wrongly directed war, a man who watched a city drown, a man who made some of the most curious appointments in history, a man who let our global leadership tank, and a man who would rather be on his ranch chopping wood -- and a lot of us wish he had been for the past 8 years. These aren't smears. This is called vetting. It's pretty important when it comes to the VP of America. Sarah doesn't make the grade -- not in accomplishments, not in experience, not in apptitude. She's a great mayor (if you forget about those little financial speedbumps she created), a passable governor in a state rich in oil revenues but that's where she should stay. And as for McCain - there's no honor in handing your "makeover" over to Karl Rove and letting him pollute the discourse.

Comment: Excellent comment and i applaud you for it. I just wish more and more would see the light and do the research. A pretty woman does not make for a great VP when that is all it is based on. Her choices and where she stands on all issues are very guarded right now. And for good reason. Here's hoping there will be a REAL change in the presidency with Obama.

Comment: AFTER EIGHT YEARS OF REPUBLICAN GANGSTERISM I CANT BELIEVE HOW GULLIBLE THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS. STOLEN ELECTIONS, LIES AND SMEAR TACTICS ARE PRIME TOOLS IN THE REPUBLICAN ARSENAL. THEY KNOW IT TOO, THE ABSCENCE OF BUSH AT THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION IS ADMITTANCE TO THAT. THE WAY THEY TRIED TO IMPEACH CLINTON, YET THEY NOW WANT A WOMAN WHO ADMITTEG HER ADULTRY AS PAY BACK TO HER HUSBAND. YET SHE LIVES BY GODS WILL. WHAT A CROCK OF CROCK
