If Obama really cared about women's issues - he would have appointed Hillary to be his VP. That is the only real way to break the glass ceiling, and he flinched. McCain-Palin for the White House all the way!

As an indepdent, I now support the McCain- Plain ticket. It's astonishing to me Obama wants to run ads about abortion when he said to Rick Warren the issues is above his pay grade. It seems like he will say anything to get elected...

Obama asked, am I my brothers keeper? Conservatives are trying to find Obama's brothers address to send him cash for the rent.

More people in this country can relate to Gov. Palin than Obama, Biden, HRC, Pelosi, et. al. People, the game is OVER. Obama blew it, once again the DEMS blew it. Skunked again!

First of all if the media had done its job of vetting Obama properly, they would not have any probelms. They are in the tank for Obama, and the people understand that because of their agenda they cannot be trusted to do an objective job. I was initially attracted to supporting Obama but eventally was driven away by the obsessiveness of the media in trying to promote him and give him a pass on everything. The MSM has no credibility what so ever.

The yellow journalism media is itching to harrass Palin. But they had no questions when it was revealed Obama argued for and voted for infanticide in the Illinois legislature.

It is about time that someone in the media says they are biased against the GOP. Republicans love Sarah Palin and hate how she was treated in the media before she even gave her acceptance speech she was counted out. She has proved the media pundits wrong. I can not wait for the Biden, Palin debate.

We haven't see such a filthy low down sexist oriented attach against a political candidate since....well....since the primary election against Hillary. "The ONE" is clearly realizing what a huge mistake he made in showing his contempt for Hillary and not sewing up the election by picking her as his VP. Now the GOOD OL BOYS CLUB of Obiden and their worshippers in the Main Stream Media have to figure out how to send this silly woman hockey mom back to the kitchen where she belongs. If Howard Fineman is right "The Obama' will assign the attack to his Good Ol Boy VP pick Biden and of course, his worshippers in the media. I wonder what Hillary's supporters will think while they dirty another woman?????

  • Posted By: consnewyorker @ 09/07/2008 12:00:31 PM

The reason why she won't face the left wing media is they would do a job on her ala Andrea Mitchell. Maybe her and her husband should stick to ruining the housing market.

  • Posted By: consnewyorker @ 09/07/2008 11:58:15 AM

The reason why she is not facing the left wing media is that they would not be fair to the Gov. I don't think they gave her a standing ovation like they did their favorite son. You saw how she was treated when she was announced as the choice.

"...she has a respectable approval rating there." Aren't we, "veddy veddy, British", in our understatement of Palin's, EIGHTY Plus approval rating. I always look to guys like you for an even-handed impartial assessment of the current political scene. Keep up the good work...

Game over. Buying into Obama was like buying an instant jackpot scratcher. The best moment was before anything was scratched off. But with each successive scratch, it looked less and less "hopeful" and more and more like they wasted their spare "change". Now they're beginning to realize they bought yet another bright, shiny loser. "Aww, nuts! "

Cutting spending on health, education and social services isn't necessarily so bad. Waste can -- and often does -- appear in those categories, too. Education typically makes up the majority of a state's budget. If these points you mention are the spots where the dems are going to attack, I'll rest easy that Palin will be just fine.

    • Posted By: gliderpilot @ 09/07/2008 11:42:37 AM

Unemployment has hit 6 percent. This shows that federal spending and the taxation to pay for it is excessive. For the last two year the Democrat congress has been sending Bush huge spending bills, and he vetoed only one of them. The usual practice was to attach spending to military appropriation bills. It was a sort of blackmail. Congress and the President need to reduce entitlement spending and eliminate earmarks. Of course this is precisely the McCain formula.

You mention that Sarah had the audacity to makes cuts in health, education and social services. What's so bad about that? There can be fat and waste in those categories, too. Education alone typically makes up the majority of a state budget, so if those categories can't ever be cut, you're saying state budgets will often have to run a deficit. Sounds to me like so far, Sarah is safe.

When Obama is question about his experience he points to having been an organizer. But what does an organizer do? Obama has never said what he did in detail. I suspect he organized people to wright letters to congresspeople requesting increases in entitlement spending, organized protest marches, and organized other forms of rabble rousing.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #10: THE "POLITICS BEFORE COUNTRY" LIES
McCain and Rove accused Obama of picking Virginia Governor Tim Kane as VP for political expediency, and also because Tim Kane would bring a southern state into the Democratic "Win Column". Instead Obama went for Senator Joe Biden to sure up the leadership ticket for the White House. McCain assuming it would be an Obama-Kane ticket, wrongly accused Obama of putting politics ahead of country.

Well McCain and Rove got busted. The whole world (except a blinded Religious-Right) witnessed McCain picking the least qualified Republican to be his VP in hopes of:
    (1.) stealing Hillary's voters from Obama;
    (2.) pleasing James Dobson's religious-right.

Clearly a hypocritical VP pick by McCain for the "sole purpose of political ambitions", is now on record for the world to witness for eternity.

After using CHANGE as a Theme Obama went on to choose and Old White Man named Biden who has been in Senate for 36 years. CHANGE ??

Does your comment mean you are voting for the "old white man?" Obama picked Biden for his experience in foreign policy...period. which to me seems to be a more thoughtful, intelligent choice than pulling some unknown, no foreign policy whatsovever onto his ticket.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #2: THE "EXPERIENCE" LIES

After Senator Obama spent 18-months running a campaign that has totaled $350-million; and after 3-years in the Senate negotiating legislations for the nation and for his 12.8-million Illinois constituents; and after 8-years in Illinois State Senate fighting for the middle-class; and after 3 more years fighting as a community activist and organizer; it is genuinely hypocritical for McCain to pound Obama on the experience factor, and then turn around and install Sarah Palin with NO national and foreign experience, to be a single heartbeat from Commander-in-Chief of the United States.

This is GARGANTUAN HYPOCRISY and a RECKLESS decision that puts the nation at risk just so McCain can fulfill his long sought after ambition to be POTUS.

    • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:37:30 AM

And in the same 18 Months Sarah Palin has operated a State Budget of 11.5 Billion . Thats 30 times more than the 350 Million you claim as experience for Obama. Obama has less experience than Palin,
