Just like the British said when Bush won '04", they didn't realize there were so many dumb Americans. Well I have news for them " There are", If we are stupid enough to want more War, Rise in Groceries, Gas and more debt , then we will get just what we deserve. You people have to remember that the Repug's would put Hitler in, just to keep power.

I agree. The Dem push for Bio Fuels forced Corn to skyrocket and animal feed as well. Since Dems took House and Senate in Jan 2007 the defecit nearly TRIPLED.

Europeans also say: Each country gets the president they deserve.
For the past 2 elections, stupid Americans picked a stupid president and look where we are today. America, wake up! BE smart enough to realize that we can't survive with another 4 years of incompetent people in power. We have become the JOKE of the world. Get Republicans out, otherwise it will be the demise of the USA and I really will begin to believe that Rev Wright wa right when he said America was being damned.

    • Posted By: Schoggola @ 09/07/2008 7:36:42 AM

Truer words have never been said!

Another thing the Europeans say: Each country gets the president they deserve. After 8 years of the Bush disaster, the US is becoming the joke of the world. Maybe Rev. Wright was wrong... maybe America really is being damned...

ICYEYES800 - I hope you are joking. There are far more qualified female candidates in the Republican party. Ms. Palin lacks public speaking skills. She will not be appearing in the upcoming AM talk show circuit, which disturbs me (McCain, Obama, & Biden will appear). Her speech at the convention was canned. I really want to know what her views on the economy, housing crisis, and esp. the war in Iraq. She's no more than a mannequin for the Republican party. That's an insult to all women.

    • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:35:30 AM

Palin lacks public speaking skills?? Enough said. You are as dishonest as it gets. Palin gave one of the greatest speeches in Campaign History., Even Wolf Blitzer and Andersen Cooper were left speechless.

      • Posted By: sisterbetty @ 09/07/2008 9:49:15 AM

I guess you couldn't read or hear between the lines. Yes, she repeated the written words with acidity quite unbecoming someone not used to being caustic. But from a Orator stance... she needs speaking lessons with regard to volume and tone. If you listen closely you would think you were hearing a speech given by the female star of the movie "Fargo." She will probably get better with time but as for that night...her oratory skills were no better or worse than someone who didn't have any.

I find it hilarious to see the Dems and their pals in the media scrambling to understand Sarah Palin. She connects with Americans because she is one of us....not some unknown community organizer from the South-side of Chicago.....not some blow-hard Senator from Delaware...not loved by Hollywood or the media....in short, she connects and will bring the McCain-Palin ticket to the White House in November.

    • Posted By: realmac @ 09/07/2008 9:47:07 AM

The only people Sarah Palin connects with are uneducated, working class Americans that are just too blindly ignorant to realize the the Republicans don't care about them and never have. Anybody with even a half a brain see through the Republicans line of BS. I don't think that Obama or the Democrats are going to save the country or the world, but you know what, I'd rather give Obama a chance than reward any of the Republicans for all these years of lies, hypocrisy, cronyism, neglect. I think you better wake up and realize that the only thing Republicans are offering working people are more lies, inaction, and greed.

    • Posted By: milo9 @ 09/07/2008 9:08:15 AM

Sarah Palin connects with Republicans because she's a congenital liar.and her hypocrisy knows no bounds.

  • Posted By: jerjer @ 09/07/2008 9:46:35 AM

What is the difference between Sarah Palin and Karl Rove? Lipstick. Yes folks, Karl Rove wears lipstick

  • Posted By: Kurt S @ 09/07/2008 9:45:07 AM

I find it interesting how articles in Newsweek has become the inner-office memo of the Obama Presidential campaign. In this piece, rather than discussing the relative merits of the vice-presidential candidates - it is a manual on how the Republican has to be dissed by the Democratic machine, and unintentianally exposes the weaknesses of Biden.

  • Posted By: jerjer @ 09/07/2008 9:08:52 AM

Since when do barracuda/pitbulls hide under the bed. Oh I forgot. When their masters tell them to stay there and be quiet.

    • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:18:55 AM

Sarah Palin has a State to Run, She cannot vote PRESENT 135 times.

      • Posted By: sisterbetty @ 09/07/2008 9:39:10 AM

Let's take the voting PRESENT off the table and get things straight. In Illinois a vote of "Present" simply means that the person does not agree with a certain part of the legistration. It is a Protest vote! It doesn't mean that the person showed up, said "I'm here" and then left. What it does is allow that person's voting record to reflect what is was about the bill that they protested. It is done so that a clearer picture and record can be kept of that person's position. That's why we see so many politicians defending segments of their voting records when they just say "yea or nay."

  • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:16:24 AM

Biden has a very long and in depth record on foeign policy which will prove his undoing because is has mostly been wrong. Even going back to Reagans SDI which was so important in the Iceland Summit between Reagan and Gorby. Bidens record is one of error upon error in foriegn policy. Experience is great. Bad experience is not.

    • Posted By: milo9 @ 09/07/2008 9:36:12 AM

The experience of eight years of Republican rule is not only bad but not to be rewarded by voting in McCain, a Trojan Horse for the Bush Administration.

  • Posted By: Keep It Simple @ 09/07/2008 5:08:07 AM

Bill Clinton is a dirtbag, Hillary is a b-witch, Gore is delusional, NAFTA a disaster, wag the dog deplorable. That being said, were you better off during the 8 years of Clinton/Gore or during the 8 years of Bush/Chaney?

It's not about lipstick on a pitbull or a war hero/survivor, it's the economy!!! You put two oil men in the whitehouse and you have a war for oil, the worst economy since the great depression and a national debt that your great grandkids will be paying off with devalued dollars.

I just can't vote for 4 more years of Bush/Chaney/McCain. Sorry Limbuagh.

    • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:34:05 AM

I lost my shirt during the Clinton Dot Com bust in 2000.

  • Posted By: phnxrising @ 09/07/2008 8:55:58 AM

Sending her away is about strategy and posturing and it is insulting. Why does she not jump in with both feet if she wants to be equal and an agent of change? Have her answer questions from the public because if she had to be in charge at a moments notice she would not get time to go to Alaska to bone up!!!!

    • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:20:07 AM

Where is Joe Biden? I haven't seen him for a week. Sarah Palin is not hiding, Her son leaves for IRAQ in 4 Days. She needs to be with her family while they say goodbye to him.

      • Posted By: milo9 @ 09/07/2008 9:31:56 AM

WTF, Biden's been campaigning in Florida this week, I'm smelling the lies that accompany Republican failures to explain away their shortcomings.

  • Posted By: Obama/Biden @ 09/07/2008 8:51:51 AM

Shame on John McCain and Sarah Paling for puting her "special needs" child and "17 year old pregnant daughter to gain votes. How low can the Republicans get?...........shame on you for the Palin/McCain ticket for stealing the "change" theme from Obama. The only thing the Republicans are trying to steal is the election by trying to fool the American public. Sarah Palin should pay more attention to her daughter than she does to governing the biggest oil producing state Alaska....something smells really fishy with Sarah and in the coming days we will see her go up against the press so that we can get to the real Sarah and not the speech maker.

    • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:24:31 AM

Sarah Palin introduced her family JUST as OBAMA did. Are you claiming we didn't see the Obama Girls playing on the stage at the Dem Convention? Or perhaps Sarah Palin should have hidden her disabled child in a trunk somewhere? How dishonest a post, Shame on you.

Barrack can still win! If Hillary's supporters can forgive and forget Barrack collective giving Her and them the finger and if Bitter Whites that cling to Guns, Religion, Love of American and believe in our Constitution against Invasion and the rule of Law can be convinced by Barrack that the largest invasion in world history, of any country, at any time, by any means and that is taking their jobs and lowering their standard of living while killing, robbing and raping American citizens by the 10,s of thousands every year and is slowly but surely changing American into an Spanish speaking third world cesspool of Crime, Corruption, Poverty and Misery, modeled on Mexico, is a good thing for them and American.

He may even start losing losing black votes since they are the ones paying the greatest price for his pandering for Hispanic votes to fuel his political ambitions and lust for power!

Blacks are starting to realize that Barracks open Borders and Amnesty for the Invading horde will completely disfranchise and destroy the political gains, civil rights & progress made by Black Americans and empower the Racist Hispanics.

He needs to explain why he and most Democrats Believe that Article IV Section IV of our Constitution against Invasion, enforcement of our Immigration Laws and their Oath of office are all null and void!

He needs to convince voters that his election will not start an wealth transfer from the USA to Africa in accordance with his Black Liberations teaching by his friend and Mentor the right Rev. Weight!

He needs to future explain why he thinks Babies born alive should be denied medical care and left to suffer until they die! Why he considers the way to correct unwanted babies by engaging in sexual promiscuity is just to kill the baby as he stated he would do if his daughter got pregnant out of wedlock !
He will need to convince them that attending the church of hate, supporting and listening to Hate American, Hate Whites and hate everything but Blacks and Muslims for 20 years while hanging out with criminals, terrorist and racist is no big deal and no harm intended!

Report the news please. How is that one of our nation's Vice-Presidents wins the Noble Peace Prize on Global Warming, and our next potential VP doesn't believe it's happening? How is that we, as human beings, have learned that the Earth is significantly older than 5000 years, yet our next potential VP believes the Earth is 5000 years old. Finally, how is it that Sarah Palin believes that life begins at conception, yet she has never been asked about whether she believes fertility clinics are murderous. Oh, I forgot, we can't ask her these questions because she is being protected by the Right Wing. Wake up Proles!

  • Posted By: Dencal26 @ 09/07/2008 9:12:25 AM

Very Fair and accurate article. Refreshing to see among all the Sarah Bashing. Biden has a bigger problem. He has a 36 year record of actual votes for Palin to scour through. From siding with the Communist Sandinsitas to voting no to the Gulf War, Bidens record will be front and center in a Palin Debate.

I have never heard a woman be so "anti-women" in the public eye before. If she is so concerned about "family values" she should take care of her own. Abstinence only education is not working and her family is proof, rallying against gay's is hateful and not a Christian value, not to mention that she knows absolutely nothing about foreign or domestic issues. The GOP is smart to hide her away for a while.

Sarah Palin, in her debut, lied as easily as a New York streetwalker. She told so many lies that AP was compelled to issue a fact sheet, first of it's kind for a vice presidential nominee. When did we become so comfortable with those bearing "false witness"?

  • Posted By: nancysabet @ 09/07/2008 8:56:59 AM

Obama's chickens ...... are coming home to roost..........

  • Posted By: gary goldbladt @ 09/07/2008 8:49:11 AM

Writers at Alternet.org are saying that Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party., They also say that she even spoke at some of their meetings. If this is true, then we could have our first ever secessionist President of the United States.
I can see the bumper stickers now: VOTE McCAIN - LOSE ALASKA
Seriously, the leadership of the Republican Party would put their own loyalty to the United States of America in question if they put someone who was a secessionist in the line of succesion to the Presidency of our country. This is not about Obama: It's about the survival of our republic.
The author may be right about Sarah Palin going back to Alaska, permanently.
