Sarah Palin should be ashamed she is putting job before family and even more ashamed that she is exposing her "special needs child" and 17 year old pregnant daughter to gain votes for John McCain. John McCain is a maverick?....no John McCain is impulsive and bitter old man who may not live long enough to watch his phoney poster girl for women implode in front of America. There is a reason she has not met with one single reporter yet and is being tucked away from the press. The press will press her with really hard questions. John McCain is a war hero, let that be his legacy. He voted with Bush 90% of the time. Yesterday I paid $10 for a pund of salami in a grocery store, Americans are not dumb and know that the Republicans are to blame for all the mess the country is in. "Shame on you" John McCain and Sarah Palin for stealing the change theme from the Dems and using it for themselves.

Hello Howard. I am a former Hillary supporter from PA hailing from your neck of the woods. This woman has me fired up like no other, and I am committed to making sure that Obama is elected. This barracuda nonsense is a joke. If she is so tough, wise, and smart, then the Republican machine should let her swim with the sharks. There are far more intelligent, experienced and capable women in this country worthy of the job. Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman would have been "maverick choices" that made sense. They have executive experience running multi-billion dollar company's with large payrolls, benefits, R&D, etc. Sarah Palin has no more business being on a national stage than I do, and I chomping at the bit for the Democrats to expose her for the smug, under-qualified, and right-wing nut job that she is. As a member of the press establishment, keep on her like a dog with fleas so we can really see what this woman is made of! Go get her!

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #7: THE "PLANE SALE ON EBAY" LIES

Sarah Palin insinuated she sold state plane on EBay for a profit, and more recently McCain repeated it as a fact that the plane was actually sold on EBay for a profit. That lie has now been debunked, and the good Christian Sarah Palin has no shame that she was caught in another lie. The plane could not sell on EBay so it was taken down and sold "privately for a $600,000.00 lost".

.... go and adopt children or something. I am pro-abortion but you should know that having one is not an easy choice for any woman. That is why it is LEGAL!

If women want to engage in the political discourse, they can't "hit and run", they have to stay and defend their record based on facts; not inferences. Voters have a right to inquiry about the relevant experience that makes her the best person out of 275,000,0000 million citizens to be a hearbeat from the Presidency. If she can shoot moose and eat them, she can take a few questions from the media instead of hiding from them. An American Women

I can understand that women can relate to Palin because she's a women and a mother, I am too. But lets not forgett its politics and they want our vote for them. McCain is only going to benefit the rich not middleclass. He's going to take our country downhill. Is that what we want? We saw it with Bush. McCain supports the war. A war that has no benefit for anyone eccept the rich of course. Before you vote, think about you and your family.

I understand that a lot of women feel identified with Palin, because they are mothers themselves like I am. But lets not forget this is politics and they are trying to get that vote. As a citizen I think if we vote for republicans our country is going to go downhill, we saw it with Bush bringing on a war that has not benefit anyone, instead is bringing down this country. We need a change! McCain only benefits the rich not the middleclass. My vote is for democrats 100%.

I think the bias in your article is disgusting and ugly. It makes me , my friends and family all the more excited to cast our votes for Senator John McCain and Governor Palin. I miss the days when reporters were paid to report, not to push political adgenda's on the American Public. You dont speak for me, none of you.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #5: THE "TAX CUT" LIES

McCain accused Obama of trying to raise taxes. But Obama has continually advocated tax cuts for the middle-class with annual salaries of less than $250,000.00, which is about 98% of the population. However, McCain doesn't tell the public his health insurance plan is going to effectively raise taxes for all Americans that have health insurance, while making permanent tax cuts for the riches upper 2% of Americans.

And again, McCain doesn't tell the public that as late as 2006 with mounting national debt and the high cost of two wars, he was against Bush's permanent tax cut for the rich because the nation could not afford it. Now McCain has flip-flopped hard and is supporting Bush's plan for permanent tax cuts for the riches 2% of Americans - - - at a time when the nation (and the military) can least afford it.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #1: THE "WE DON'T KNOW HIM" LIES

After 18-months on the campaign trail, detractors of Senator Obama (mainly GOP constituents), claim they "still don't know Obama" well enough to make an informed decision as to how they should vote. But within 48-hours of Sarah Palin's introduction to the GOP, Obama's critics suddenly knew everything there was to know about Sarah Palin.

How is it that the religious-right cannot know a fellow Christian brother like Obama after he endured 18-months of brutal media scrutiny and crucifixion, but suddenly 'know' Palin within 2-days of popping up on the national stage and without one public interview?

James Dobson's Evangelicals are of the same spirit as the Pharisees. The Pharisees were the hypocritical and vaunted enemies of Jesus as HE tried to bring CHANGE to a hurting people. The Republicans are the modern day Pharisees.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #3: THE "CHANGE" LIES

Up until last week, McCain's campaign has been on "EXPERIENCE", while Obama's mantra has always been on CHANGE. After watching the DNC performance, McCain 'blinked' and changed his campaign to run on the same mantra as Obama's which is CHANGE. This is after McCain accused Obama of saying anything to win!!

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #6: THE "BRIDGE TO NOWHERE" LIES

Sarah Palin claimed on several occasions that she turned down $350-million of federal government earmarks for the "bridge to nowhere". But what actually happened is Sarah campaigned to get the money for the "bridge to nowhere", then flip-flopped after McCain voted the bridge down when she won the Governor's office. Ironically, Alaska still got some of the 'bridge to nowhere' funds but it was used instead to build a "highway to nowhere".

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #8: THE "ABSTINENCE-ONLY" LIES

Sarah Palin as an Ultra Extreme Religious-Right advocate uses her State office bully-pulpit to knock down public school s@x-education, while plugging her "abstinence-only" religious views to public schools. Ironically, her 17-year old daughter Bristol fails to practice the "abstinence before marriage" views her mother is trying to push in Alaska schools. Then Sarah tries to hide it with another lie by telling the school where Bristol attends that her daughter must drop out because she has Mono. Sarah continued to hold fast to the Mono lie until rumors break loose just after her VP announcement. It was only then the "abstinence-only" hypocrite came clean.

Same old GOP garbage. So the fundies are thrilled and America over all suffers with serious problems. I hear McCain on the AARP convention this morning....all I heard was his stump speech babble. Obama was detailed and crystal clear on his positions and talked on the issues. McCain ranted on "I know how to do this over and over .It boggles my mind that so many people will vote against their self interests because of the color of mans skin and one candidate happens to be a female. Yech!

I have been saying that, in spite of the uptick in McCain's fundraising and her rock star status, Palin will help sink McCain. She is bringing baggage and an unpreparedness to the campaign that will ultimately cement the idea that McCain has no judgment. It should be mentioned that she first accepted the plan for the Bridge to Nowhere, then opposed it BUT KEPT THE PORK MONEY. She opposed the bridge, but not building a road that led to where the bridge would be. She is no stranger to earmarks.

This is the honeymoon period with Palin. I give it six weeks before the cracks are obvious.

    • Posted By: Jo Juneau @ 09/06/2008 10:13:22 PM

She accepted the funds for the bridge to no where and then turned them over to the state legislature to allocate properly to a long list of vetted transportation projects. CHECK YOUR DEFINITION OF PORK.

So that's commendable in RepubliCON circles. She ran a con on the federal government. Money was provided to build a bridge, she doesn't return it to Washington like a good li'l maverick, but instead diverts it to the Alaska Legislature. I'm sure it was all legal, or she would be having problems beyond Troopergate II. But as we all know, what's legal is not necessarily honest or moral.

:Yeah, Sarah Palin sure presented a good speech. But, it subtantively, it was a fairy tale, filled with half truths and lies about her background and about Obama. I find it curious that every one is fawning over her. I guess the right wing media would rather fawn over a completely unknown celebrity than to address the very serious challenges that 8 years of Republican leadership has left us to face.

The real issue is not Sarah Palin, who, like Richard Nixon, we may need to live with a long time. It is John McCain's suitability to be President. McCain has proven without a shadow of a doubt that he is carrying the Bush Rove torch for expedient, rash politics. Be afraid. Be very afraid should this man ever have the chance to "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran."
