When there is this much attention to an unknown Republican VP pick, it shows that the head of our ticket is a light-weight creampuff. No excuse for not picking HRC.

When a population slaughters its future for its own convinience, I thought God has an interesting way to bring justice. Look at Europe... Europe will be in civil war with entrenched jihadists in all its capital cities. And here in America.. we'll have a bankrupt federal government and war on the south with the lawless drug terrotories in the former Federal Repubic of Mexico.
Roe v Wade will end one way or the other.
Am I the only person that sees wihat is happening, I love how the Rnc has amnesia when it comes to Sarah Palin's experience and sexism. Carl Rove said that she had more experience than Obama, Binden, and Mccain, When only a month later he blasted one of Obama pick for being a governor of Maryland stating that he didn't enough experience. I usually don't the dalily show with Jon Stewart but you can see that comparison and more. I also love how now the Rnc is all for a 17 year old being pregnant. I hate to see if that was Obama daughter the Rnc would be relentless on the smears. I am really tired of the Rnc every election they throw in abortion and gay rights. I live in Michigan on my mothers Street we have 14 houses in foreclosure. My husband has been laid of since Jan. with no relief in sight. I believe everybody should have rights as everyone else. I believe in family and children, but I also believe that a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body. I really don't think that I can take 8 more years of the same I need change and I don't see that happening with Mccain/ Palin
I'm with you. I am pro-child, pro-family, PRO-CHOICE. It's no one's business what I do with my body. I also could not handle eight more years of the same. Republicans forgot who's been sitting in the white house since 2000 and now are all about the new Republican party and change...it sounds like more of the same...actually much more scarier.
It should not be an issue about whether women have the right to abort a child. As the premise to abortion is flawed and a contradiction to humanity. Women have the right to have sex or not. Impregnation starts with consent . However a case or rape or incest do not out weigh a human life. Where is the thinking of today's legal system? 200 some years ago, Americans probably did concieve the idea that a child is with right to live in the womb or not. To say that a embryo is not a human being with all the DNA or full genetic code is without logic or reason.
McCain wouldn't be able to change Roe vs. Wade without democratic approval. That's the way the check and balance system works. He can nominate a pro-life appointee, but they can't get appointed without Congressional approval.
You do understand that Supreme court Justices are appointed for life, right? That can be a long time and much can change incuding the makeup of congress. But here we are fighting the culture war... and the issues???
I sincerely hope that women understand what is it stake if this Republican ticket wins in November. If we value the American Dream as both parties have so touted, then we must preserve the ability for ALL to have CHOICES...and not have the most personal parts of our lives dictated by others!
Palin is pro-life, even in the case of rape, and opposes same-sex marriage and favors teaching creationism alongside evolution in schools. But she hasn't pushed for legislative changes in any of those areas.
That says plenty. It shows she knows the limits of government. Government isn't there to tell us what to do.
Obama seems more inclined to use government to control it's citizens than Palin.
This is an issue that should be left up to the states. The fed has no need to intervene. Why would Republicans, supposedly the champions of small government, want to create another huge federal responsibility?
I agree, It should be left to the states.
One interesting point, however. Palin is pro-life, even in the case of rape, and opposes same-sex marriage and favors teaching creationism alongside evolution in schools. But she hasn't pushed for state legislative changes in any of those areas.

The fact that her daughter is having that baby only goes to show you how little time and money her mother has invested in her. If Governor Palin had spent the amount of money my wife and I have spent on our little princess's education at a top private school in Riverdale, I am sure she would have made her have an abortion.
What a sick and twisted comment. So preserving or taking the life of a grandchild is dependent on the amount of money spent on the daughter's education?
What kind of people are you?
You don't know josemarti, he often speaks with a twisted tongue, LOL.
josemarti, I love your posts. You are a good writer. Have you thought about taking up politics? I hear the job of POTUS is open.
My hat is off to you. May your numbers increase.
Thank you. We hope to see our little Rebecca enter Vassar next year.
I hope your "little princess" Rebecca has better judgement than you do.

Abortion is killing a innocent baby and "playing God," it is immoral and should not be allowed to happen
The hell with the issues! So what if we are mired in a senseless war. 8,000 foreclores a day, 47 million of our fellow citizens without healthcare, unemployment at a 5 year high - so what?
Let's fire up the old culture war and vote in Bush 3. Republicans can't govern worth a damn but they sure know how to run a campaign!
Let me see if I can clean this up with a few reminders about the Democratic Party's "image of purity:"
Start with the law-breaking Kennedy family, namely Joseph Kennedy smuggling alcohol during the years of prohibition, through the JFK years with the President's involvement in extramarital affairs with mistresses Exner and Monroe. Maybe you should use William Jefferson Clinton, an Arkansas born-again campmeeting attending "Christian" as the image of purity--who twice vetoed the ban on late term abortions under the guise to "protect the health of the mother," used marijuana ("although he says he did not inhale"), and only God knows how many illegitimate children he fathered and aborted as a result of the numerous affairs and sexual escapades. Okay, how does does Clinton's involvement with Monica Lewinski and his behind the scenes sexual escapades make you feel? Is that any better? Monica "pulled-off" the greatest Presidential extramarital affair in the history of the U.S., and nearly impeached a "face-losing" William Jefferson Clinton, and we should be concerned about whether Sarah Palin's 17-year old daughter is more of a slut than these? Al Gore's son being arrested for driving in excess of 100 MPH with marijuana and prescription drug charges, not to mention the "inconvenient truth" that his ozone-depleting house consumes in one month more electricity than the average household uses in a year--or 20 times more than the average--does that make you feel any better about Bristol Palin's unwed pregnancy? Thank you very much.

To nimodahooligan: There are several ironies and contradictions in your comments: Perhaps you can quote any Pilgram that had an abortion because it was her freedom to choose! Perhaps you can share with us the Pilgrim that stated she rejected the scripture that states Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee..." There is never a time in any society or culture when is civilized that an individual's freedom is paramount to God's purpose. It is precisely your misinformation and twisting of reality that is most dangerous, and your "freedom" and "right" to decide on the taking of another's life are moot. If you want to remove your organs (a gall bladder, appendix, tonsils, etc) these then go ahead and make your "informed" decision, but the life of an unborn baby is a separate and autonomous being, and your "rights" end when another's life is at stake. I know of no child who abandons life because they are born into a and drug-addicted family. History is replete with heroes and icons that overcame their adversities and disfunctional issues of family and mankind has benefited because the life of the unborn was more important than your right to march and protest against the giving of life to men and woman heroes, the likes of Barack Obama, Martin Luther King, and yes, Sarah Palin's grandchild to be!
Everybody knows that the Pilgrims came to the new world to get abortions; Abortions were cheaper and safer here and the American indians, being godless heathans, ran the clinics. Then the forefathers of the country wrote the Constitution to make Abortion safe and legal....This country was founded on abortion, so get your facts straight.
Then the warpaths must have been filled with drum-beating Pro-Choice Iroquois and Mohegan women, especially in the light of all the rape and incest in their culture. Chanting American Indian women who couldn't afford to keep those unwanted pregnancies must have thanked the Great Spirit for denouncing the weirdo Chiefs who believed in the sanctity of life!
Yes, are choices might as women become more limited with Sarah. We might not have the choice to kill our babies inside our wombs any time we want. What a pity that would be. We would lose the right to kill our own children within our wombs. Why, everyone should have that right, don't ya think? Killing your own kid. Anytime you want. It's as American as apple pie and now Sarah might come and spoil that good choice we mom's have to kill our babies. Bad Sarah.
Too bad all you people posting weren't aborted. Wouldn't that have been a fun short existence for you?? One day, you're floating carelessly inside mommy's womb and the next some instruments come up in there, suck you out and tear you to pieces. Sounds like a good time!!
Too bad mommy and daddy didn't use birth control if they didn't want you! Too bad they thought so much of themselves that you became garbage to them. Heaven forbid they take care of their child! Heaven forbid their life isn't all roses because they have to work and sacrifice to give their baby a nice life.
Abortion is for selfish quitters. I'm not Republican or Christian in the traditional sense. I just think the fetus, as some like to say, deserves a chance at life. You got your chance at life!!
I think its so ironic t
Palin will do anything to get the votes...
There is only one winner here -- Levi Johnston, the redneck.
What is Levi Johnston's occupation? How is he going to support his new family or is this all going to be on the backs of the taxpayers to support Mrs. Palin's daughter and her husband under the guise of them being a part of her family? Welfare is welfare is welfare!
Where are the christians when the baby has been born? Where is the support system to make sure these mothers can make a future for themselves and their babies? When a young women has a baby her chances of ever making something of herself is very slim because their are few suport systems in place so for a young women to make the decision to have an abortion is her saying I want to have a future.
I NEVER want the government to be allowed to make such a heart wrenching decision, each women that makes this decision does it for different reasons. I understand that Palin chose life for her baby but what about the mom who's baby is brain dead, is it right to make her continue with a pregnancy knowing what the outcome is, absolutely NOT. Each situation is different for every women and the decision that she makes is unique to her circumstances, the government has no right to say no to something when it should be done a case by case basis.
