You're probably right about one thing, we will probably never find an AIP membership card with Sarah Palin's name on it. Put what exactly does that prove. It's funny how people associated with the AIP (or the Klan for that matter) don't want others to know they are members. They attend the rallies, they give speeches, they yell and cheer, but they deny membership. Kind of like guys who read PlayBoy for the articles. But who are they really kidding? Here we have McCain saying "Put Country First", while his VP is giving speeches for the AIP Convention, even using AIP code-words like "we all know Alaska has the potential for Self Sufficiency". I think your conclusion "that she is not a member" is a little naive.

    • Posted By: OBWan @ 09/09/2008 7:34:53 PM

And what is even more ludicrous about McCain's "Country First" - is he won't even support the vets. He was a no show for Webb's GI Bill. McCain had to do a fund raiser. What a senator!

      • Posted By: AnyoneButTheCommie @ 09/09/2008 10:24:32 PM

If McCain didn't support the bill, it was a bad bill. It was sponsored by Jim Webb for crying out loud. The purpose of the bill, as I recall, was a plan by the Dems to reward military members for leaving the service. This was an end-around to screw President Bush. A typical Dem move. We all know McCain supports the military and to suggest anything different is stupid.

Interesting that the Bridge to Nowhere isn't mentioned, yet this is the single most issue that Sarah Palin continues to dwell on. She sounds SO MUCH LIKE GEORGE W BUSH, stubborn to admit that she is really lying. What is wrong with Americans to continue to fawn over this lady when we really and truly know nothing about her. Let's ask her some unscripted probing questions. I predict that she will STILL sound MUCH LIKE GEORGE W BUSH.

    • Posted By: Cimarron @ 09/09/2008 10:09:21 PM

OMG, that stupid bridge is discussed repeatedly below on multiple threads ... read a bit and catch up.

Anne's letter can be found here.
    http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/sarahpalin.asp
You'll need to read it first.

This is very long so is in 2 parts.

Here is a response I composed to an individual. Much of Anne's accusations are faulty, at best. Many are complete twists of the truth.

This letter is based on one person's opinion. Look at the disclaimers. She say the subject hates her. She is not a statistician. How balanced can she really be? She has her own agenda, everyone does. It's not tough to go to more city council meetings than 99% of any population. How many have you been too? Anne is a Democrat. How many Democrats speak highly of Republicans? Other than Joe Lieberman that is.
Let's look at some of her points.
Sarah is enormously popular. She has bitten the hand of everyone that helped her. How do these fit together?
Everyone has secrets. Is this now an undesirable trait? Leaks in government cause lots of problems. Maybe this is a good thing.

Pro-Life, pick a side. She appears to be a great mom.

She is energetic and hard working. Speaks for itself. How many lazy politicians are out there? Too many.

She is savvy. Again, this is a problem? She puts things out there and if they are popular she takes credit. Why shouldn't she take credit? She put out the idea. Who should get the credit? The critics?

Her husband has a highly sought after, well paying, union job. Oh, that's right, Democrats are the union folks so this can't be good. He fishes for salmon for a month in the summer. It's not a major source of income. Well, I expect not with 2 high paying jobs already in the family. I've never heard anyone say he made most of his money fishing, just that he was a commercial fisherman and a union worker for an oil company.

    • Posted By: mageduley @ 09/09/2008 9:22:44 PM

Appears to be a great mom huh? Maybe she should spend a little more time at home with her teenage daughters and know what they are doing. I always know where my teenagers are and what they are doing. They are teens.
For republicans who claim they are for family values and family comes first, it is amazing to me that you are defending this person who will push her family aside (who truly need her) for her own ambition. Isnt that what every republican is against?

      • Posted By: Cimarron @ 09/09/2008 9:57:42 PM

FYI, her husband took a leave of absence while she was Governor to stay home with the kids. And, as a Mom of a teen myself and friends with lots of other Moms of teens ... you don't always know where they are and what they're doing. What they tell you may be different that reality ... I know, I was a teen myself and I wasn't always truthful about that ... well, 98% of the time I was ... LOL

Alaska is the least populated state in America. There educational ranking is 44 out of 50 states. Palin is not the cure all to our countries problems. Her Governmental experience is very SMALL. (Incidentally Arizonia ranks 50 out of 50 states on the educational scale),

If Palin had have been hitting on all of theses cillanders the media is trying to give her now, she would not have been an unknown person in the Republican Party until now!! Would you people the media stop insulting inteeligent people and cut the crap!

Had Palin have been this political dynamo, she would have been a household word like Kay Bailey Hucthinson or Hilary Clinton and she is not!!! I am an Independent female voter who is not snowed by the "spinners".

I have researched her record and it is not as the Republicans and the media is saying. Shame on all of you.

      Wilberta-
Quick, name all 50 current Governors. Oh , you can't? thats ok. Nobody could. But does that mean that they are bad Governors? A little tip. Never confuse celebrity for competence. Heck Look at Britney Spears as an example . Just because someone is famous does not make them good and vice versa.

    • Posted By: Luvasia @ 09/09/2008 6:19:41 PM

I am puzzled by the simple fact that McCain-Palin supporters actually think people not voting for McCain-Palin are buying into the fact that they are so desperately insulting our intelligence and making themselves look like idiots....it is so sad to see people turn their souls over to injustice because they can't accept having a man with brown skin in the white house...for most of McCain-Palin supporters this is the very heart of the issue despite all the nonsense...anyone who has some education and can add 2+2 know that McCain has the same agenda as Bush....McCain is the ring leader of trading what he knows is right (listening to his inner man) for power, position and wealth. McCain has a history of inner conflict and the need for position, power and wealth...I actually think McCain's Father has a lot to do with his inner self conflict because he probably feels he never lived up to his father's standards (5th from bottom is nothing to rave about).....I read a lot of the comments posted here and I laughed because McCain-Palin supporters are trying so hard to the point that I find it amazing......historical...simply historical

  • Posted By: bobissaquah @ 09/09/2008 9:28:31 PM

I am disapointed in the direction tin which the media has evolved. There was a time when what was printed was an objective pursuit of the facts. Today, viewing the current election events, I do not understand why the comments made by the Republican candidates can make facts that have no basis of fact or have placed a spin on the actual facts. Does not the approval of the Jews for Jesus comments bring concern you or the misuse of expense accoun ts for herself and her family concern the media or her use funds that were meant for the 'bridge to nowhere' which by the way, she approved of until there was too much backlash. What I am asking for as are many other concerned Americans is for the media to forget the sensationalism, print the facts and seek the the truth. It is your resposibily to yourself and to your readers to do such. bobissaquahwa

I believe that these attacks on Palin are coming from the liberals who do not want McCain in office. Well, I have a message for those liberals and others who are voting for Obama and Biden, "McCain will be president and Palin will be vice-president". Go McCain! Go Sarah!

Thanks for once again proving the elitism of the left. You people (yes, "you people") are your own worst enemy.

      • Posted By: Ezana @ 09/09/2008 6:46:55 PM

elitism equals "I want a president educated in the laws of our country and who can hold their own with world leaders without throttling them at the negotiating table". Got it. Not third generation naval academy who graduated with a C average...

        • Posted By: Jessejacksoff @ 09/09/2008 6:51:57 PM

Elitism = somebody being better than someone else just because of his education. I didn't hear too many of you moonbats seeing a Harvard MBA as being a qualification for president. Frankly, the fewer lawyers, the better, especially in Washington. The fewer Harvard lawyers...better still.

          • Posted By: Luvasia @ 09/09/2008 7:09:32 PM

You've seen what a President without a higher education equals...so I would say...Yes it does matter....just like it does with any other high ranking job in this country.>EDUCATION IS KEY...the higher the better....we are talking about the highest ranking job in America...right....or does that make too much sense?

jessejacksoff - If you are going to define a word at least quote a source - do not be an ignoramus

            From the free Dictionary -
            e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism (-ltzm, -l-)
            n.
            1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
            2.
            a. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
            b. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class..

      • Posted By: OBWan @ 09/09/2008 7:04:39 PM

Jessjackoff - There you go again - bashing an enter group. That would be like me saying that all Republicans are rich - based on Cindi McCain's $313,000 outfit last Monday, John McCain's $500 shoes, Sarah Palin's $700 eye frames. I know better and so do you.

You know back in the days of the first slavery....white people would hang blacks who attempted to educate themselves or those who could read....of course we all know why this was the case...and we all know that even in this day and time in order for the wealthy (notice I didn't say rich because there is a huge difference) to stay wealthy the poor and needy must stay as they are...a huge portion of of this country was built on the backs of those who continue to be oppressed......what is the law of economics? Much has changed over the years and so much has also remained the same. The fact that Obama and Michelle have higher educations makes those like you refer to them as believing they are superior or that they carry a sense of entitlement..."you people" must realized that it is the year 2008 and you need to catch up with the times, the world is still changing and "many people" are catching up in a game that has been fixed from the start....just imagine a player who has played against the odds for so long..having to worker harder, and defintely smarter...... now has an opportunity for a fair game....you're going to beat by a long shot....:0)

Wow the silence from the liberals on this post is deafening. Now that all of that garbage that you guys have been spewing about Palin has been proven to be a load of bull, you guys don't know what to say huh.... Oh wait, let me make a prediction. One of you liberals will come on here spouting about how the republicans have corrupted factcheck.org now, right? Oh and by the way, nobody cares about troopergate. Sounds like that wifebeater needed firing to me.

    • Posted By: Ezana @ 09/09/2008 6:50:39 PM

Kind of like how the republicans have spouted about snopes.com being a bastion of liberal media? Your right trooper-gate is a joke. But she is a religious fanatic (they speak in tongues in her church), she did flip flop on the bridge to nowhere, she did try to fire her town librarian when she refused to tell her how to go about burning books and the silence in your "liberal media: is deafening on all those issues!

      • Posted By: Jessejacksoff @ 09/09/2008 7:01:07 PM

Last time I checked, she didn't have a domestic terrorist as a best friend and business associate....a convicted fraud artist buy her house for her...a racist preacher as her "spiritual advisor"...a resume' that starts out with "community organizer"...a life inspired by a communist agitator....a brother whom she allows to subsist in a hut on $1 per month...I'm sure we'll have more for you when the Annenberg papers see the light of day.

        • Posted By: Ezana @ 09/09/2008 7:16:32 PM

She spoke out in support of a political party that wants Alaska to secede (doesn't get much more treasonous than that), her future son in law is a self professed "proud redneck", her resume starts with housewife, and did I say before that they speak in tongues at her church? I like how your information comes from emails and right wing talk radio.... What if, and I know this is a crazy thought , republicans don't have a leg to stand on this year and are just making up whatever they can get their hands on to win....?
All the community organizer thing means is that he donated his time (when he had law school loans to pay, I might had) to help people in poverty pursue the basic government services for their neighborhood. I know the Republican mind still thinks college is a vehicle to make a lot of money with, but some us still believe in service (performed by both citizens AND the military). Incidentally that resume ends with Senator ???

          • Posted By: RavenMaven @ 09/09/2008 9:11:20 PM

Once again check your facts. She never supported the AIC. That is a fact. The son in law will help get a few votes in the south, that is a fact. She never spoke in tongues. That is a fact. Although you have no idea what speaking in tongues means, so therefore you are afraid of that. And we all still believe in service. I commend Obama for his role as a community organizer. It is honorable and decent service to the people he helped. But it does not prepare one to lead the most powerful nation on earth.

      • Posted By: RavenMaven @ 09/09/2008 9:03:37 PM

The silence is deafening because nothing you just said is actually true. By the way, why does anyone who believes in God have to be a "Religious Fanatic"? If you knew anything about her, or many millions of other faithful people you would know that we don;t believe in Religion. We believe in GOD! Religion is a man made fallacy . Of course you wouldn't understand this because you believe in Darwin, who plagiarized the theory of evolution from Alfred Wallace.

WHAT YOU ARE NOT DICUSSING ARE OTHER MATTERS THAT ARE OF CONCERN. wHY IS SHE NOT AVAILABLE TO THE MEDIA? what about the bridge to 'no where' and her keeping the funds that had been ear marked for it? What about the widely views toward Jews, Homosexuals, God's plans, her expense accounts [in the corporate world she would be censored and make restitution. That in of itself is an abuse of power if not unethical. She as a candidate should be held to a higher standard. Bob Issaquah, Wa.

Sarah Palin's husband is a dirty traitor to the USA. How else can you characterize a member of a secessionist party whose leader proclaims his undying hatred of the United States. Sarahs not much better, praising the AIP in a congratulatory video to their traitorous convention. If this were Michelle Obama the matter would be a huge scandal but as usual the media is terrified of the right wing and will let it slide. It's funny that Newsweek's "fact check" would make you think it's all perfectly innocent instead of drawing the obvious conclusion that Todd Palin hates the US and Sarah Palin's loyalty is questionable at best in light of her appeasement to traitors.

    • Posted By: RavenMaven @ 09/09/2008 8:28:19 PM

Since when is the ultra liberal left wing media afraid of republicans. This is one article from a non partisan third party research website that simply debunks all the lies you people have been spreading and now the media is biased towards the right? You are delusional if you think that line is going to work. You are losing. Get over it. There are millions of articles that openly patronize the left from "news" sources that are supposed to be non-biased.

I'm not sure that "traitor" is the correct word. I have often thought that WA state should cecede from the Union. We would have a great balance of trade. We have wheat, apples, Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing. We are not as screwed up as WA DC.

    To parisikov:

But evidence is precisely what Palin had in mind when she said she wanted to allow debates.

I agree with you somewhat. I don't want to have a blind faith (that is, faith with no evidence at all). But when there is evidence for my faith, shouldn't I be allowed use it in debate in the classroom?

    • Posted By: Ezana @ 09/09/2008 6:30:45 PM

      • Posted By: RavenMaven @ 09/09/2008 8:13:05 PM

Why not? Why is your faith in flawed man made guessing allowed and my faith not. Why should my tax dollars fund teaching stuff you can;t prove any more than I can prove the stuff I believe? Your hypocrisy is astounding. Besides, they are talking about allowing discussion of creationism. Not preaching a specific religious doctrine. All believers in any GOD believe that a God created the earth. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE DOES NOT MEAN THAT GOVERNMENT MUST DENY THE EXISTENCE OF GOD!!!!!!!

I kept saying that Obama looked like he might be part hispanic or something. This was months (years) ago when I first saw Obama on tv. If he is African American... I don't think he's half. I really don't care what he is, but we do have blacks on the west coast. And, I'm not using the term "black" as it is used in London (where it means South Asian AKA Desi)

These whispering campaigns have worked in the past. The Bush campaign (under Rove) pulled the same thing on McCain in the South Carolina primary in 2000. They spread a rumor (via email and talk radio) saying McCain's adopted daughter was illegitimate (and half black). She's actually from Bangladesh. I find it disgusting that he is now benefiting from the same tactic!

However, my fine friend, you should follow this link. Is this really a Newsweek article? The Newsweek? What the heck type of article is this where Newsweek is simply regurgitating an article in defense of Sarah Palin? Did you fact check the fact checkers? Shouldn't Newsweek be checking into Sarah Palin's continued campaign profession that she killed the Bridge to Nowhere, when there are numerous articles and pictures that show she supported the Bridge to Nowhere. Don't you have a problem with the first couple of words out of the mouth of a candidate being a lie? Why hasn't Newsweek or any other "news" magazine questioned the sincerity of Sarah Palin and the John McCain campaign concerning their claim that they "openly" and "voluntarily" disclosed that her teenage daughter was pregnant. Have you looked at the videos and pictures from the event where Sarah Palin is announced as John McCain's running mate?...Bristol Palin is conspicuously trying to hide her pregnancy by holding her baby brother and his baby blanket in front of her stomach (maybe it wasn't conspicuous, since no news agency has dared to mention it) Doesn't it bother anyone that they were going to try and hide this from the public , but when they found out it was going to be disclosed, turned it into a "family celebration", bringing Bristol's newly determined "fiancee" , Levi, along for the photo ops....As a news agency, didn't this irk you just a little? Or, at least make you want to question Sarah Palin and her views on teenage sex education, Does she still believe that abstinence only is the proper sex education lesson? Did she know that while she was promoting abstinence only her 16 year old daughter was having sexual relations? Didn't she engage in premarital sexual relations with her husband? (By the way since you have indicated your desire to check internet rumors, have you seen the posting by the young man who claims that he, and not Levi Johnston, is the father of Bristol Palin's baby...don't know if it is true or not, but Newsweek or factcheck.org should check it out.....I doubt you will because if that one turns out to be "factual", you would have a real news story on your hands.

Factcheck.org is the source of this newsweek article. So in one sentence you bash the "fact checkers" and in another sentence you suggest that they be consulted to check the facts. Nice job buddy.

???A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes" Mark Twain
This is the problem with the internet, once a lie is out there most people will believe it's true no matter what anyone tells them. Why should the news waste time on who the father is, it is not your business, if the candidate was pregnant and someone else was claiming it that would be a story but not her 17 year old daughter.

I heard that her husband Todd is the grandson of Bigfoot. Sarah herself once went swimming after eating and not waiting 2 hours. I also heard that her kids NEVER ate brocholi. And you want this woman for VICE-PRESIDENT of the U.S. I sure do.

And, if your child was playing in an area where there were wolves, you wouldn't want them nearby?

My child would never be playing anywhere I need a helicopter to reach!
