It's good you fact check. But please be fair:: go over the statements of McCain that he repeatedly makes about Obama's tax plan. I wince everytime I hear the lies.

Wow, I'm not sure if I've ever seen a more collective group of intellectual midgets with bigger axes to grind against holographic boogeymen. First, Ann Coulter is an author and political commentator, and doesn't represent herself as a "concerned citizen from Wasilla who knows Sarah Palin." She is not hiding behind a clandestine email, Coulter cites her sources thoroughly and supports her claims. Too bad when she shows up in public, people who disagree with her would rather put a pie in her face than actually listen.

DavidKnows - you're really gonna have to find a better vent and focus for that hostility. I worry for you. If McCain wins, who knows what that would do to your mental stability. If Obama wins, that's even scarier, because then you'll have no one to blame. If you want to reprimand the people that gave us 8 years of George Bush, that's fine. Although, according to the polls, the same people aren't quite ready to elect Obama. But that makes me feel better - not for our country - for you. Like I said, I'm more worried about you than what either of these two guys will do in the next 4 years.

Last but not least, ImpartialThinker, I'm puzzled as to why you're not thrilled. You'll have a special needs advocate in the White House looking out for your needs and the needs of people like you. Buck up, little camper. Eventhough I'm writing, I'm going to speak slow, so even you can understand. When you TRIPLE something, you INCREASE it in size by THREE TIMES. That means if you had one dollar and tripled that dollar, you would now have three. Not sure what telling the other kids about the baby's condition before it is born has much to do with anything, or the fact that Palin expressed some vulnerability about her ability as a parent caring for a special needs child. Ultimately, I guess she does have faith. Probably something that helped her through a trying time. Kinda what faith does, no? Silly me, what am I talking about, of course you understand.

Thank you for your effort to set the record straight. I'm sure there are thousands of readers just like me who have been totally disheartened with the medias lack of diligence to get the facts straight this past week. Rumors and lies simply cannot be passed off as professional reporting, and unfortunately, the internet has made that more than possible. I'm grateful for this article.

She charges the state a per diem when she stays at her own home? I wonder if she would be required to claim that as income, as owner of the house?

Its amazing. They have the facts laid out in front of them and STILL they continue stating false rumors. I dont think Obama is a muslim. I know he isnt especially considering who his wife is there is no way a muslim man would tolerate a woman that spoke so publicly. However im more concerned with his ties to Chicago politics, to the fact that all he did was use his Senator seat as a stepping stone to the presidency, and that he is pretty far left of center in his political views. Not to mention what really turned me off to him were his supporters. The rabid drooling, cultist supporters of Obama scared me from voting for the guy. Id sooner vote for Bin Laden than Obama, at least Bin Laden's supporters are a little more tolerant of any truths being told about their leader.

Palin is pro-life, even in the case of rape, and opposes same-sex marriage and favors the discussion of creationism alongside evolution in schools. But she hasn't pushed for legislative changes in any of those areas.

The Associated Press reported Sept 3: "Palin's children attend public schools and Palin has made no push to have creationism taught in them. ... It reflects a hands-off attitude toward mixing government and religion by most Alaskans." That says plenty. It shows she knows the limits of government. Government isn't there to tell us what to do.

Obama seems more inclined to use government to control its citizens than Palin. Look at HR 800 and see what the democrats are doing while we aren't looking -- eliminating the secret ballot in union elections.

I forgot to mention her criminal conviction for failing to register in the commercial salmon fishing area at Bristol Bay. in 1993 At that tme she sat making laws for others on the Wasilla city council 3DI-93-0024CR., Alaska state data base Dillingham (CR stand for criinal offense) But likea politician do as I say not as I do. I think someone at factcheck.org should factcheck the claims McCain-Palin are making in their stump speaches about themselves and the Obama-Biden camp. Candidates should be held to a standard of truth so American citizens know who they are about to vote into office, impacting their everyday lives.

Sarah Palin has positioned herself as a reformist I don???t buy it when she is billing the taxpayers of Alaska for 312 nights spent at home, I don???t care if this is allowable or not; this is not the end of wasteful spending that she is promoting herself for.

This is what Barack Obama has had to put up with for 20 months. False rumors, misleading non-facts, and outright lies.
