I do not think that it is right that these mad scientist feel that the world should place their trust in them to find something that majority of the world could careless about. It is not fair nor right for them to think that since these rections go on in the universe everyday and in their natural element the its okay for us to sit back and recreate them in an unatural state the could be the demise of the world. We are fighting to make this world a better place but yet 330 feet below the ground we are actually putting the whole world at risk to find this so called "God Particle" that they say will take a long time to find if it is so and we are willing to risk the world, mankind and all things divine. If they world is coming to an end let it happen on its own. I would like to know who allowed for these so called scientist to build such a device and place everyones life in jeopardy like its okay if everyone' s life could end tomorrow?

its funny you mention 'trust' i feel the exact same way about religion. how many more peoplpe are going to die in the name of GOD? mankind is already at great risk because of religion. every war since the begining of our time has been religiously inspired. i guess god owns shares in Haliburton or Lockheed martin because they are the ones who profit from war. without religion these companies would go out of business. how can you trust a leader of a religion who tried to cover up child molestation?!?! its the priest who are mad! what else are they hiding???? everytime scientist come one step closer to the truth the religious nuts come out in full force to stop it. science actually brings people together. religion does not. it only breeds hate and ignorance.

Again scientists wish to recreate what only God can actually accomplish.

Must be nice that these people have the time and the money to waste on this. I have a better idea lets scrap this project and spend the money and time on cleaning up the planet and world peace. Nah never mind makes too much sense....lets contiue with this plan and possibly destroy our planet more that it already is.

Our ability to think is a result of this project. There is absolutely nothing wrong with expending our research and knowledge by using our environment. This is what humans do. We figure things out and than we use it to better enhance our lives so please don???t discourage people with senseless comments like this one about ???Playing God???.

I think its good to put our life @ risk for important thing. It is far better to risk our life than existing without knowing the root of existence.
I support the scientist. & i wish we get the answer.

Nothing will happen:P The masses being worked with are very small, and while the energy levels are higher, the Tevatron at Fermilabs has been doing much the same thing and doom was predicted when it was built as well. Take off your tinfoil hat and go back to doing something useful.

I feel that it is not right nor fair that these mad scientist feel that the world should put all their trust into them and feel that everything is fine. What happens in the universe is its natural reactions not man made reactions that could completely demise the world. It is a shame when scientist want to know what ruined/created the world but if they ruin it they would never know. We are currently fighting to make this world better and in turn underground we are going to destroy it as if earth has never done anything good for the inhabitants that the earth consist of.

"STOP playing God"? Really now? Last time I checked we were given the ability to think, to plan and use the enviroment around us so that we may better enhance our lives.
"Playing God" would require us to actually change the most basic laws of the universe we live in.

Scientists need to STOP playing God, i agree we do need to find out more about our world, but not like this, if this is the start of frequent and potentially catostrophic experiments, we WILL ultimately exterminate the human race, as well as all living organisms on Earth.

not a very clever idea putting lives at risk

  • Posted By: kloiu @ 09/10/2008 6:14:47 AM

no its not a good idea putting lives at risk

Why scientists are playing with human being and creature. Experiment is good but it should be in limited way.

The scientists r the creator but i dont know about these foolish scientist why they r playing with human lifes if they dont know about the impact of this experiment , experiments r good but not on this big level that it cause huge destruction it is to be stopped so that everyone can live peacefully.

  • Posted By: raju08281 @ 09/10/2008 5:23:10 AM

This is dull and the idea of physic persons, if they want to play then play in their home why they r putting the whole world in this mess even they dont know the impact of this experiment , i cant understand that why the other nations r not going to stop this experiment. It was good to read an informative stuff. An aftereffect will decide the usefulness of the explosive experiment. I hope for the best. Its very true that millions of explosion has already been happening in universe naturally. The seriousness of issue is that, why scientst are not on a single concept platform?

Yes you are right that protons have a positive charge, but what you need to understand is that they will be shooting the protons at each other at the speed of light, this is how they will colide.
