The guy straight-out admitted to tasing his 11-year old son. I wouldn't have anything nice to say about him either. This is compounded by the fact that he was a police officer. I'm on Palin's side, on this one.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/05/palin.trooper/index.html

    • Posted By: Chico DeMadre @ 09/11/2008 12:22:31 AM

Yeah that's how he got partial custody right? The tasting part? Yeah courts are real forgiving on that kind of stuff especially when you admit it.

      • Posted By: AKCFII @ 09/11/2008 12:55:08 AM

He tasered his step son not his kids. He also asked one of Sarah's girls if she wanted it too. This guy admitted to this and then some. If it had been a citizen Wooten would have been the first there to arrest them and they would still be fighting in court over the taser incident.

Never mind this guy was seen by other citizens driving around in a marked police car drinking beer.

Give me a break. This is a poor example of how a police officer should not be acting in public or private.

Wooten is a thug. He has abused his step son with a taser and abused Palin's sister. Wooten has been married 4 times...count them 4 times...all of which have ended. Need we say more about this jerk? Palin's father was threatened as well as the rest of the family. I would call the State Troopers on the guy too. This should have no bearing on the new VP...yes the NEW VP....she will win on judgement, courage and being the breath of fresh air that the republican party so needed.

    • Posted By: M-n-M @ 09/11/2008 12:53:38 AM

How do you know for certain he has done all of these things? Have you investigated the situation? In acrimonious divorce cases people have been known to stretch the truth or outright lie to get custody of their kids. Some mothers have even gone so far as to accuse their exes of sexual abuse that is later proven to have never happened.

If you listened to this Wooten guys interview on CNN he admitted to the taser incident, but said that his wife and father-in-law were present when it happened, it was a kind of tasering that Troopers do to themselves in training, it became a family story that everyone laughed about until the divorce came along, and the kid liked it so much he wanted to have it done again. I don't think any judge would have given joint custody to someone who tasered his kids as a punishment, but I do think that this incident, if Wooten's version is to be believed (and the judge and the State Troopers office believed it) shows that the entire family may need some parenting classes.

It sounds to me as if this is a family feud that has gotten out of hand, and if Sarah Palin is willing to continues exaggerating her record on The Bridge to Nowhere, then perhaps she's willing to exaggerate or even tell a few falsehoods just so her sister can "win" against her husband.

I don't know, but I think we all have seen plenty of divorces that become something akin to World War 3.

Let the Special Counsel do his job before you cannonize Saint Sarah.

I have a feeling there is plenty of blame to go around in that family.

We do not need another hero, we don???t need another war, we need a President that have vision and know what to do no just look back and show your military credentials they are very well deserved. But know we need a President that takes this Country to a new level, we need a new generation that know to end this war and gain the International recognition and not a VP that comes along to show nothing and a man that only knows torn on the opponent. Show me that you will change Washington and have a VP that has the poorest record on the Politics of the USA. I will vote Obama and Joe
    Thanks Joe

Yay! Like, we totally need another scandal-burdened politician running the country!

Vote for republican = vote for stupidity.

Democratic controlled congress = nothing done by McCain.

    Nuff said.

Lipstick on both Obama's and Biden's collar? Yes and I think everyone is missing the point. I don't know if Obama's PIG comment was directed toward Palin and no one will ever know. Now, today he not only repeats the comment and but also his running mate, Biden, makes another lipstick comment. I do know that we should question why an intelligent, presidential candidate along with his potential VP would not just apologize and say it was a poor choice of words. Think. What if he uses the wrong choice of words when talking with Putin and other world leaders. What would the results be? This just shows they are not ready for prime time. They are just too glib and don't know how to say simple things like I'm sorry or I was wrong.

    • Posted By: max in fl @ 09/10/2008 11:34:37 PM

Wrong words....let's see at the republican's convention McCain claims we have to look for alternative fuels so we can stop giving money to terrorists. McCain can call EVERYONE in the Middle East terrorists and that flies over your head and you worry about Obama saying something wrong to foreign leaders. Is McCain then also saying that we are TRAINING terrorists? Obama uses metaphors and says you can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece o paper called change. It's still going to stink after 8 years and HE has to apologize. if the Republicans think that Palin IS/ is acting as a pig that is their problem. Maybe SHE started this whole thing by using the wrong choice of words at the convention, there are a lot of hockey moms that were offended, has Palin apologized? I haven't discussed this with any lady friends but with guys, you can call us every animal in the book that is fine. How many times have we heard that a woman thinks that men are pigs? If you belittle a guy's livelyhood you are steping on his heart with army shoes on. Sarah gets to stomp on Obama then accuses Obama of sexism for using metaphors are you kidding?

If this prolonged war has been slowly eating us alive financially to the tune of 12 billion dollars per month.
How is funding it for ANOTHER 8 years under McCain supposed to make a change in our economy. WHOEVER OWNS OUR DEBT OWNS US. HOW WILL WE BE THE LAND OF THE FREE THEN? We are using China's money like we use our credit cards. But just like our credit cards the company can suddenly change the borrowing rate and stick you in a pickle jar. While everyone is worried about their TAXES and Iraq. I'm worried more of China and how can we pay them back if we keep borrowing. At this rate they can take over this country without firing a shot.

Republicans (McCain heading the pack) are trying to bury newsweeks factcheck.org just as they are trying to bury troopergate. Get ready for them to tamper with the ballot boxes in November in areas pro Obama.

This just shows you what kind of lying, vicious, hate filled woman she is....she is of course a republican, There are 2 sides of any story, and all we're getting is hers. she is still disparaging him only now in the national press. I thinks it's high time to remove those childre from their mother and Aunt gov influece.

Obamabots, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?"

    Well, do ya punk?

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 09/10/2008 11:05:19 PM

Do you feel lucky? If so, don't vote McCain.. your luck will end.

"Caribou Barbie" is currently being programmed with the Talking Points that all the repug slimers set into the echo chamber, to see what they can infiltrate into the mainstream media and the national conversation. When she can say them without the flashcards, she will be allowed to answer questions from the press. Until then, they will to try to divert into insubstantial and ridiculous sidetracks like the lipstick thing.

Too late. The ''Obama Wasilla Airborne''has already beaten them to the punch.[probably hard at it trying to find another list of ''banned books''.]

  • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 09/10/2008 10:44:55 PM

Dunno. As with everything else surrounding this person, and the medias reporting of her,Hosenball is not the only one to have come by the court records and are probably matching these to the Hosenball narrative to ensure that he is being honest.[after NEWSWEAKS ''Qu'ran toilet-flushing-at-GTMO'' crap with his pal Mike Issikoff in 2006 that got several people killed in riots and hundreds more injured throughout the Middle East, one must be neccesarily skeptical]. For those more interested[as I believe neither Hosenball nor the NY Times,AP,CNN,MSNBC,or the Washington Post after what they have already pulled regarding Palin],you can check here:

    ALASKA TRIAL COURT CASES

    Docket No. 3AN -05-06836CI McCann,Molly J. vs. Wooten,Michael G.R.

You will have to pay ten dollars for the privilage of having the full court minutes unless you wish to wait for another source to provide it for free, probably,[as above],punching holes in Hosenballs take, which is what this poster is doing now, being a cheapskate in this matter.

Something else with a red flag, which costs nothing except due diligence. It appears that Senator Hollis French who is pushing for the ''Troopergate''investigation,is raking in his campaign loot from convicted felons and the head of the Alaska Public Safety Employees Union,a Mr. John Cyr.[who is coincidentally[or maybe not],also demanding a hearing]. As strange as it sounds, since NEWSWEAK,as usual,is not doing their damned jobs,Sen.French is in violation of Alaska state law in actuality. Not in an alleged condition [Sec.13.15.070] in exceeding the maximum campaign contributions per person per year as French accepted monies for three years from these individuals.

    William Bobrick[convicted lobbyist] 1150 bucks in 2000

    Mitchell Gravo[two grand in 2002].

    David Gottstein[one grand in 2003].

    Alaska State Public Offices Commission,Sept.2008.

When you get around to actually reporting the news Mark, you get right back to me. Too much, far too much really, has already been invented.

This is symptomatic of Palin's philosophy of how to run the government--take control and use intimidation tactics to get her way. She sees no problem with using her position of power to interfere in matters that are an obvious conflict of interest for her. And now she's trying to obstruct justice by withholding official emails (that were cc'ed to her husband) which may implicate her in cases of abuse of power and conflict of interest. Typical GOP slimeball--says one thing and does another.

Sarah Palin is a scarey, gun slingling, moose killing whack job who made rape victims in Wasilla pay for their own rape tests.
I'm sick of McCain hiding behind her skirt and lying about Obama. These Carl Rove war mongers need to get the message that we're sick and tired and not going to take them any more!

Yeah, so this is what our nations election has degenerated into, us, the self proclaimed "greatest country in the world" huh. Now imagine, if you can, the chance of "democracy" in Iraq actualy working. Are we so dense as to believe that this election is really still about any relevant issue? So the outrage is over precieved slights that a 5 year old may tattle about to their mother in regards to what a sibling said? Imagine in Iraq, where they have real rage over the differences; how the f*ck are we pretending that anything other than stalling the inevitable at the tick of $10 billion/month is going on over there. Be as full of sh*t as you please, but don't dillute yourself as to thinking that we arent an embarrasment to the whole democratic system; cause what made our country great is dead, it was removed in a political labotomy, and it's tragic.

Hey Omaar, being a sponsor of a bill doesn't mean you did any work on it.

Read the fact check on Obama's claims to credit for those bills, then read what Chris Dodd had to say about Obama taking credit for bills when none was due, that it happened so often that it was becoming Obama's mantra.

Far as I can tell, the only legislation Obama actually authored was to obtain things like 12 million in tax breaks for foreign companies so they could sell their products cheaper here.

As far as you WANT to see, it would be a waste of time to show you otherwise. As if after wasting time explaining anything you would say. 'hey you are right I will VOTE for Obama.

My problem with McSame is that he is a leader for the 20th century. Honestly, do you want a leader who can't figure out how to send an email and doesn't know how to navigate the internet?! That may be fine for my Grandpa, but it's not what the nation needs as we proceed into the 21st century. I just can't see electing another half-wit with a world view and skill set more appropriate to a 1960 election.

    insane mccain

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/10/2008 6:02:32 PM

The headline here is very misleading. The only person the judge was warning was Palin's sister, not Palin.

Palin wasn't under the judge's jurisdiction, she wasn't a party to the case, and he couldn't order her to do anything.

And in case you all missed it, in his interview on CNN, the trooper admitted to tasering the boy, to drinking on the job, and to shooting the moose illegally.

    He should have been fired.

  • Posted By: bluetwo11 @ 09/10/2008 9:32:09 PM

does anyone think it's strange that Sarah Palin keeps saying the same lines over and over again? I can actually quote them after 2 straight weeks of the plane on ebay, the bridge to nowhere etc. I liked her at first but I think something strange is going on !!!

  • Posted By: miriamac @ 09/10/2008 7:39:28 PM

While we're all discussing the very interesting Ms. Palin.
There is the $200 billion taxpayer bailout of Fannie & Freddie.
As I understand it none of this money will go directly to prevent foreclosures, altho more than $10 mil will go to severance packages for the CEO's. I also heard that the decline in values of public pension funds which were major holders of the now worthless shares will force raises in state & local taxes.
Do we really want to continue the people like McCain who created this mess.
It's rather like the "surge." Had it not been for the folly of going to Iraq in the first place we wouldn't have needed a surge. (& for the record Osama hated Hussein almost as much as he hates the West. Hussein was a bad guy but the Iranians weren't crazy about him either.
We're being distracted here from a debt that our children's grandchildren will be paying.

    • Posted By: MsChiTown @ 09/10/2008 9:28:23 PM

That's the whole idea. Talk about lipstick on a pig, why won't Oprah have her on and so on. McCain's hiding under her skirt to avoid talking issues. So he tosses out non-issue talking points for the ignorant to get emotional over so issues don't get discussed. Unfortunately too much of the media is going along with it.

  • Posted By: JPW07 @ 09/10/2008 9:24:56 PM

Ok, you may be right about the lipstick thing, but I want to know where are the other 7 states that the good Senator was talking about and while we are at it since when is it okay for Mr. Biden to ask a crippled Senator to stand up for a round of applause, your kidding me right!
Mud is mud people the only thing happens is everybody gets dirty.
    God I love this country.

Now the republicans want to play the sexist card....saying Barack's comment about the lipstick were referring to her.....they really need to quit it.....Did not McCain refer to the pig with lipstick in one of his comments just the other day....republicans refer to him as being comical now Barack's is sexist....please....I don't blame him...by no means does he owe her or McCain an apology....he defended himself when he said enough is enough....you republicans are really something......talk about the issues because this tactic will not detour real people with real issues from what is really going on here....and to Hillary supporters who now support McCain, you were never on her side anyway.....It's a shame how simple minded and narrow minded some people really are. It just goes to show that you could care less about what is really going on with America....A vote for McCain means you're down for whatever....I am really disgusted with how repubilcans have acted this election.....I'm not surprised though.....
