I swear to god, this is enough already. I cant get any actual news because every single one of these "news" channels is talking about this horseshit lipstick distraction. Man, f*ck this country if it's to stupid to give a damn about whats really happening to the nation. A scholar once said, "the success of a government is contingent on its public not being too stupid to govern." No wonder our countries in such a mess.

To the fella who want's to know where are Obama's expense reports 1. Obama is not a governor. 2nd. if you want a guy who's 72 years old the the POTUS why aren't we getting to see his medical records- I mean really see them 2 hours with selected doctors in a closed office where you can't even make copies to read at your leisure is crazy and what about Cindy's money- if she is going to be first lady shouldn't we know how much money she has.- We already know that that's she a drug addict and would be a felon if she wasn't so rich for forging prescriptions and using drugs. How about them apples

Let's just say your sister was in an abusive marriage to a no good drunk. You would stand by and say nothing?!! Come on people, the liberal media in really picking the bones now....so typical of that mindset. Not wanting to hurt anyone's FEELINGS! I am suprised that the liberals aren't jumping all over the fact that the in law KILLED a precious MOOSE illegally! GASP!

If my family hadn't come to my aid while in an abusive marriage, I would not be here today...yes, they said horrible things about my ex....but they just happened to be TRUE!!
    GO SARA!!!

    • Posted By: Stimpygato @ 09/10/2008 11:28:13 AM

Well, if they were TRUE, the judge would not have told her to back off. Unfortunately, there are those who would ABUSE THE POWER OF THEIR OFFICE to smear an enemy. Sarah Palin has exposed herself as one who would do just that. She should be ashamed of herself, and resign from the VP slot today.

      • Posted By: rocude @ 09/10/2008 11:50:36 AM

The judge told her to back off when she was an ordinary citizen, per the article, how is that abuse of a citizens power?

        • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/10/2008 8:48:08 PM

Before being world famous Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin held the exalted position of Mayor of Wasilla, spent years as a Wasilla coucnil member, belonged to the PTA, and was a pitbull hockey mom.

Not an 'ordinary citizen,. Sarah is ready to be leader of the Free World on Day 1.

Ladbrokes of London's odds say Palin won't last as VP running mate till November.

    • Posted By: ozarkajuice @ 09/10/2008 11:38:36 AM

Sorry, but do we really know the details of the divorce? the answer is no. and why would i belive palin for. i mean this the lady who says on a daily basis taht she never supporteed the bridge to no where, but we have proof that she did.

its pretty sad that the lady lied since day one (RNC Convention).

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 09/10/2008 11:30:06 AM

So, in essence, you are saying you believe the rumors about the brother-in-law, but not the rumors against Gov. Palin. Its nice to see that there's no lack of irony in your views. Just keep tuning into FoxNews, or are they guilty of being part of the "liberal media" as well?

  • Posted By: aef66 @ 09/10/2008 8:40:57 PM

We know next to nothing about Sarah Palin. While McCain, Obama, and Biden have been on the national stage for years, we need reputable journalists talking to Palin now in order to help educate the American people about Palin's record, experience, and, most importantly, knowledge about and positions on the issues that matter to the American people.

As a Christian,I am having serious character issue with a person that brings her pregnant daughter's boyfriend to a national convention, it is a reflection of poor judgement. We are suppose to love and embrace no those that have fallen, but not parade our sin. Other questions of her character are coming up and I thought we might have had a reason to be excited. I'm not questioning her Christianity, but she is being used by Mc Cain and is not representing the character of Christ. McCain has lost my respect as well with the way he is slinging mud to win. I must have been a fool to almost cast my vote for him. There is no one to vote for in this election. I have voted Republican for the last 3 elections. I disagree with Obama's policies, however his character looks more like Christ than the Republicans.

  • Posted By: Express @ 09/10/2008 11:40:56 AM

I find it very interesting that you ndrock would comment about Newsweek putting Obama as the new GOD when your beloved Palin at the Republican convention in her speech made the comment that " when he parts the water and sits on the mountain top". But I should not be surprised since once again I see no mention of the issues facing the country, most of you were not excited or even thought about voting for McCain and now your only reason for voting is simply because of a woman who associates herself with a dog but can't speak about the critical issues that face this country

    • Posted By: summer4077 @ 09/10/2008 11:46:31 AM

Yeah I know, isn't that blasephemy? I always wonder about the nutty right-wingers like Rush Limbaugh sarcastically saying Obama is the Messiah when they preach Christian values.

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/10/2008 8:29:58 PM

Yeah, any idea why ugly, fat-faced, overfed and underworked white Republican guys think they have a lock on patriotism and Christianity? Does God love Hagee, Limbaugh, Hannity, Rove, Cheney? Nope.

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/10/2008 6:58:03 PM

The headline here is very misleading. The only person the judge was warning was Palin's sister, not Palin.

Palin wasn't under the judge's jurisdiction, she wasn't a party to the case, and he couldn't order her to do anything.

And in case you all missed it, in his interview on CNN, the trooper admitted to tasering the boy, to drinking on the job, and to shooting the moose illegally. He said he wasn't aware of the law.

    He should have been fired.

    • Posted By: ncsas @ 09/10/2008 8:28:13 PM

Thanks for setting the record straight, although it seems like no one wants to hear the facts. Saw an article about Palin's expense accounts and a deomcratic spokesperson slamming her for chargining a per diem when she stayed at her home, which is legit because her residence as govenor is the govenor's mansion, guess she should have stayed at the Ritz in Wasilla. Funny thing, a search of lexus nexus doesn't show a single news article over the last 4 years on Obama's expense reports as a senator. Sounds like the Repub VP candidate is being vetted by the media more thoroughly than the dems pres candidate. How come we haven't seen any interviews from the members of the community he organized, or groups he organized for, I heard he did a lot of work for ACORN and aren't they dealing with some very serious voter registration fraud issues!?

I live in Juneau, Alaska. If any investigation needs to be done it should be directed at the Alaska State Troopers as a former legislator suggests here(http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/091008/opi_330605258.shtml) as they covered up wrong-doing by this trooper that would have landed anyone else in jail, and then the biased statements of a State Senator who, as a Demcorat and leading the investigations, has already made comments about this being the "October Surprise" that will be then end of Palin. Biased? Who, HIM?
Furthermore, commissioners work at the discretion of the governor and can be fired at any time for any reason...sort of like DOJ attorneys. WHAT?!

  • Posted By: spikeaus @ 09/10/2008 12:21:27 PM

Palin is emerging as another corrupt and unethical Republican. USA today reported last evening that they found she had collected $17,000 per diem, while staying at home. The reimbursement she collected is supposed to be used for meals and lodging when traveling. Just because she gave up the Gov's Mansion Chef, doesn't mean she can collect for meals at home. They should have vetted her better. I'm giving up on this lady.

    • Posted By: valark @ 09/10/2008 12:38:49 PM

They have also made it clear that the allowance is perfectly legal for her to take. Its just complaining for complaining sake. And as far as disparaging...if that was a blanket law, 90% of these posters would be in legal straits. Its very easy to be critical. Why not say something positive about yourself or your nominee?

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/10/2008 8:18:26 PM

Getting back BIG TIME! to someone who had "problems" with a relative? Bush and Palin have something in common other than their party affiliation. Let's not kid ourselves, the Irak war was retaliation for the threat from Saddam to Bush 1. What will happen to the trooper if Palin is elected VP?

Having practiced law in Alaska (family law included) and having been in front of Suddock, the whole not disparage thing is common. Judges routinely admonish parties in custody matters to not disparage the other side because it can harm the children. The thought is simple: parents/relatives will use children to express their dislike/hatred of the other party. This is not news. It is superfluos garbage. I know this because I have had the same thing told to several of my clients ( it is said to everyone in custody cases!). It is not unique to Wooten's case. Disparagement is not tolerated and can be grounds for a change in custody (it speaks to parental alienation). The garbage that appears as news is laughable.... Reporters need to do a much better job of explaining how things are routinely handled and place things like this is their correct context.

    • Posted By: msles59130 @ 09/10/2008 2:54:07 PM

It is routine, true. But the judge does not make this comment repeatedly unless there has been a complaint made that it is going on. And I have heard the tape where an aide from her office is online with public safety disparaging the guy, so it is not an illogical stretch to imagine that she did so at work. And if she did it at work, then she was likely doing it at home also.

I doubt that anything will ever come of troopergate. Not because she is not guilty and ethically challenged. She is, very much so. But she has friends in high places in the republican party, and Alaska is a republican state. That ends any hope of the right result.

I just want to focus on the issues. She is as bad as or worse than Bush on these issues in my mind. And that is enough for me. I am voting for Obama/Biden.

      • Posted By: voxitar @ 09/10/2008 3:00:16 PM

But it's also quite common that the other side in a divorce case is going to CLAIM they are being "disparaged" even if they were not in order to get a leg up on the other spouse. I don't doubt for a second that when Palin's sister claimed he tasered the son, which he ADMITTED, he also claimed he was being disparaged. Bottom line - there's not a scintilla of proof that Sarah Palin EVER disparaged Wooten...NONE. Yet the author of this smear job uses a title that clearly indicates she did. More lies, more smears....another day in the left-wing MSM world.

        • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/10/2008 3:57:31 PM

How about Palin charging the State of Alaska a daily rate for staying in her own house? Pork, moose, Palin isn't fussy.

          • Posted By: voxitar @ 09/10/2008 4:44:18 PM

Unless there was a new law passed preventing state officials from receiving a per diem while working at home, which SAVES the state money since they don't have to house her and pay for her meals in Juneau, you're just trying to perpetuate another smear. And hey, how about the fact that Joe Biden charges the US a daily travel per diem for his round-trip train rides to and from Delaware at $200 a ticket? D'OH! Nice attempt to smear, but it didn't work. Next smear, please! This is fun!

            • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/10/2008 8:01:34 PM

Not a smear. She charges the State of Alaska a per diem but the choice is hers.

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/10/2008 3:27:05 PM

If a judge repeatedly warned Sarah Palin not to disparage her brother-in-law during his divorce from her sister, I'm not surprised. I often see a pitbull wearing a muzzle. Lipstick is optional.

    • Posted By: voxitar @ 09/10/2008 2:51:23 PM

THANK YOU, rfrost! This is the type of news the Obama-fawning media will NOT print, because it goes against the mission to smear Palin. Perhaps you could email your experience as an Alaskan attorney to Mr. Hosenball to see if he'll print a clarifying update? I doubt he will, but it might be worth a try.

I almost feel sorry for Palin. She really thinks she is a good v.p. pick. But John McCain should have known better.

Time for a do-over, Sen. McCain!

Sarah Palin is the not too bright embodiement of what is wrong with America. She spouts her right-wing propaganda like lines in a sit-com and waits for her applause and laughs like a well trained dog. She deliberately has a special needs child, yet refuses to stay home and care for the child. Yet if perhaps a Jewish women did the same, she would be demonized by the Wasilla Bible Church and Sarah Palina as an unfit mother. The hypocrisy is unreal.

    • Posted By: antibes @ 09/10/2008 3:45:58 PM

To the person who commented that Sarah Palin ???deliberately has a special needs child???, how is that even possible? How can a ???not too bright embodiement of what is wrong with America??? manage to ???deliberately??? have a special needs child? You speak of hypocrisy yet scorn Palin for refusing to stay home and care of the child. Should all women with children refrain from having careers or only those with special needs children? Your comments are repulsive and illogical. And by the way, if Sarah Palin is so powerful that she was able to ???deliberately??? have a special needs child, the Obama campaign is really in trouble! She just might ???deliberately??? cause the Republicans to win the election.

Sarah Palin, 40 something mother of four, knew her chances of giving birth to a Down Syndrome baby were serously increased because of her age.

She rolled the genetic dice because her sexual pleasure was more urgent than her fears for Little Baby.

Now Little Baby gets to stay with his dad while ma Sarah tends Big Baby John McCain.

Really? Wow i had no idea that older women run that risk (cough cough) and magically inherit the ability to choose to have special needs children, that woman is the debil! Choosing indeed, who does she think she is? Thanks for that great fact and clearing this whole special needs child thing up, now i'll really vote for Obama!

It's amazing the justification that people will find to support a position. When you put aside personal favoritism and you look squarely at which candidate has demonstrated the ability to make sound decisions based on the facts at hand, which candidate shows the ability to lead our country to its former glory, which candidate can logically execute peace on our behalf; then nothing else need be said.
