Who are we kidding? THe GOP is in Alaska deleting everything off of the hard drives of all Paln and Co-conspirators computers at this very minute. I'm just a cynical Dem.....the last time the GOP was brought down was Nixon and the GOP has made sure that that's not going to happen again. I hate what they stand for. I miss the was the country used to be....I fear it will never be the way it was.

Todd Palin was a 7 yr. Member of the [AIP] THE ALSKAN INDEPENDENCE PARTY, THE 3RD MOST POPULAR POLITICAL PARTY IN ALASKA

The founder of the Alaska Independence Party -- a group that has been courted over the years by Sarah Palin, and one her husband was a member of for roughly seven years -- once professed his "hatred for the American government" and cursed the American flag as a "damn flag."

The AIP founder, Joe Vogler, made the comments in 1991, in an interview that's now housed at the Oral History Program in the Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government," Vogler said in the interview, in which he talked extensively about his desire for Alaskan secession, the key goal of the AIP.

"And I won't be buried under their damn flag," Vogler continued in the interview, which also touched on his disappointment with the American judicial system. "I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."

Pretty strong language -- rather "inflammatory" I would call it.

So, why did Sarah and Todd Palin, at the beginning of her political career, decide to have these associations and why did he become a member for seven years?

Palin has courted the group over the years.

Three years after the controversial interview, in 1994, Palin attended the group's annual convention, according to witnesses who spoke to ABC News' Jake Tapper. The McCain campaign is disputing her presence there, but Tapper found two people to attest to it.

The McCain campaign today produced Palin's voting registration records, and said they proved she was never a member of the party.

Lies. Lies. All of them lies. All of them liars. New York Times. Washington Post. Newsweek. Time. NBC News. Associated Press. All of them liars. The only ones telling the truth are McCain and Palin and the people who make their ads.

Not to mention those Alaska State bozos 'investigating' the all-powerful Pitbull with Lipstick. All liars. Americans who can't stomach her and what she stands for. All liars.

Funny post. Hopefully you are kidding. 8 years under the heavy hand of the Bush dictatorship, and you think the media is controlled by the Demos or are lying? it makes more sense if they were in the back pocket of the PalinCain team (Fox news) as its the more Hollywood star story than the substance which requires standing up to the truth.

I think it's interesting that everyone is so concerned with who actually gets in the White House. Don't you realize that the President really doesn't do much when it comes to actual policy. We should be more concerned with legislature and judicial appointments. They are the lawmakers and policy watchdogs. The President is merely a pawn in a mighty big game of special interests and power. If you really think that putting Obama in the White House is going to lower your price of gas or your taxes for that matter..you're delusional. OPEC controls the price of your gas...just today they decided to hold up production because they were afraid prices would fall TOO LOW!! Obama has all these grand plans -- how does he plan to pay for them? Where will he get the 10-15 BILLION dollars to invest in new energy? Who will pay for his socialized medical plan? YOU WILL!!! I'm not supporting Bush's policies over the last four years. I think he did okay the first four, but I will gladly admit he's not the brightest bulb. But blaming him for a recession, that by the way, was building even when Clinton was in office, is idiotic. And really who cares if Sarah Palin hates her brother-in-law??? So what if she tried to get him fired. I would guess that most of you would do the same thing for your sister. NO ONE would care in the least if she wasn't on the GOP ticket. Look, whoever you vote for this election..you'll get one old white guy and one minority. They are practically interchangable. JUST DON"T RAISE MY TAXES!!

    • Posted By: max in fl @ 09/10/2008 3:26:18 PM

      heromommy

Only the judge had a problem because of the disparaging comments when it was Sarah the citizen. Then she was mayor, then she was governor and she is using her positional power as leverage and is STILL trying to get him fired along with anyone who does not obey.

If you were one that she wanted to fire over this.., YOU would have a problem with it.

      • Posted By: RavenMaven @ 09/10/2008 4:27:02 PM

If I were the one she wanted to fire, that would mean that I am a wife beating, son tasering, moose poaching, in-law threatening drunk cop. I don't expect anybody would muster up that much sympathy for me except those wacko ACLU Liberals, who would say that I am the victim.

    • Posted By: j.n @ 09/10/2008 4:12:28 PM

Heromommy,he could get the 15 billion from Iraq, that is what we spend in Iraq in one month and I am sure that we would not mind spending that on our kids ,would we?.

We are also paying the Sunnies $300 a piece to not fire at the American soldiers but to fire at one another, there are roughly 80,000 of them which would come out to about $24,000,000,per month, there are alot of places where he could get the money,we could use the money that we give big corporation to move the American jobs to other countries,we could use the money that we give Exon the had a $12,000,000,000, profit last quarter they do not need the tax breaks.

    • Posted By: fonz56 @ 09/10/2008 2:47:16 PM

I agree the President is just a pawn, but look at what the pawn has done to good decent laws passed by the Congress. Veto'ed more then 70. What a guy. Protecting my rights. And spending my money on his foolish agenda: the war.

      • Posted By: j.n @ 09/10/2008 3:49:51 PM

Your statement just goes to show that we should be more concerned about the senators and Reps. so they could over ride his vetos.

    • Posted By: j.n @ 09/10/2008 3:44:45 PM

Great point Heromommy, you just went right over the heads of most American voters,so many people after going to school for years still cannot get it in their heads that the president is the leader of his party and that he does make decisions alone,he is not the finial say unless congress and the senate is asleep.

  • Posted By: jhed0 @ 09/10/2008 2:33:24 PM

Let's see now, Wooten Tasered his 12 yr old step son plus there were a number of incidents where he threatened people, was let off after Police stopped him while driving erratically and smelled of alchohol.
The only reason he was still on the force was because of the Union.
    Harassment??
Demoncrats/Liberals are panicking and grasping at anything, no matter how unrelated.
This is another "feel" rather then "think" red herring brought to you by the Socialist/Communist media arm of the Demoncratic party.

    • Posted By: Betty in Wichita @ 09/10/2008 2:41:29 PM

So the fact that Wooten is not such a great guy afterall, then it's okay for Palin to use her authority as an elected official to settle a personal score? What's wrong with this picture?

      • Posted By: oneamerican @ 09/10/2008 3:02:08 PM

If she was within the law to have him fired, no oone can say for sure if it was personal and it doesn't matter. It appears there were numerous reasons that would be acceptable to fire him Everything we do is for our personal gain. If you take something from someone, it is because you wanted it. If you give something to someone it is because you personally want a reason to fill better about yourself. Do you actually think that Obama not picking Clinton as his running mate wasn't for personal reasons?

        • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 3:25:25 PM

I would add that Wooten might be a scumbag, but he does have rights.
I think that is one of the important founding truths that our nation holds dear.
          Even scumbags have rights.

        • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 3:23:39 PM

All the compaints came from one family - The Palin family.
All the complaints were dealt with before Palin came into office and before she appointed Monegan.
If Monegan would have fired Wooten without any new charges, Wooten would have sued the state and made money. Also, Monegan would be the one on ethics charges not Palin.

Monegan told the Governor his hands were tied. That was not the correct answer, so Monegan is gone.

KInd of like the lipstick on the pig thing...right? How about the teaching sex to kindergardeners thing...
      Yeah...I can see your point...

Bridge to nowhere that she was for, earmarks she received that she has now vowed to get rid of, the jet that she sold on Ebay for a proffit that was actually found to have been sold by a broker at a loss...She's just another liar. BTW, her ex-brother-in-law addressed the accusations in an interview...I didn't catch the whole interview, but in it he mentioned that he is a tazor instructor and his son wanted to see what it was like to be tazed. It was done in a controlled environment. Is it right? No. But the way the media is putting it it sounds like he did it as some kind of punishment. I can see me asking my dad to taze me if he were a cop. I can also see my mom using that as evidence in a custody trial as proof that my dad wasn't fit to raise me...Either way it's none of Palin's business, and she has no right to interfere, or use her gubernatorial power to help get her brother-in-law fired.

Question is do YOU have your passport? Most likely not as you do not have any idea of Socialist societies and how provide a better life to many than we do to the top few. Again, the Republicans and their shallow smear illusionist tactics. The overriding concern here beyond the court case (which will be handled by a court of law) is that a government official use her power as part of the proceedings. NO matter how your personal involvement is in any matter, as a public official you should distance the personal from the office youve been given. But then again this from a party that has destroyed our economics, based on a personal issue between the Bush family and S H.

Gooddog gone bad! "Deliberately had a special needs child" and I love the dems looking into Palins church and her preachers and the views they preach. That give justification to the commercials (dozens of them I hope) reminding America of Barrys 22 year close personal relationship with the good Rev. Wright or lets call him Rev Wrong. The start of it all falling apart for poor discriminated against Barry Husien Obama the born and raised muslom according to his school records and his real black fathers beliefs. His wife just recently decided she loved this country and he could not distance himself from the rev Wrong just as he could not distance himself from his white grandmother, but then did a week later after the polls showed him getting killed over the Rev wrong. Watch out grand ma you are next. If the dems cant win this election with the way things are in place for them then they should just give up and hope the big bang machine sucks them all into a black hole and sends them to another place where theycan hate women and thier country all they want!

Black churches have been preaching social injustices (when their churches were NOT burned down) since the abolishment of slavery. Suddenly someone EDITS a sermon and posts it on YouTube and demonizes not only Rev Wright but Black churches in general you want to give it some attention. I'm sure you know how effective an EDIT button can be to changing the meaning of a sentence. It fooled you didn't it..

That is why Obama had to let that church go. The more he defended the Rev Wright the man knew for 20+ years as opposed to a 16 second edited version of him, to more people STOP listening to what HIS MESSAGE..

Iif you can understand on a grand scale, sending your CHILDREN off to die under the banner of 'never again'; you can understand as small as letting his church and rev Wright go to under the banner of 'change'..

It's funny how everytime he visits his grandmother, the Republicans say he is vacationing in HAWAII how elitist, , but love to turnaround and say he would throw her under the bus.

Now let's talk about Palin's daughter.....

    • Posted By: bwlear @ 09/10/2008 3:31:42 PM

Being a former Hilary supporter, I can honestly say it's not because Palin is a woman. She has been hired for a purpose. Have you seen MCCain around her? It;s like he's a little boy and doesn;t know where to hide. He has no idea how to handle her. She was brought in by the MCCain handlers as an attack dog - and as a "victim." As soon as Obama opened his mouth about lipstick on a pig, they hopped on the gender card. How about all the comments on this blog, and elsewhere, about Obama not being "American enough?" Is that another Republican code for "Not white?" This election is too important to turn it over to the likes of that weakling McCain and his sidekick Palin. Please people, think about the future fo this country. Do we really want our daughters patterning their lives aftert this woman? Give me Hillary any day, but until then I vote for Barak.

It is not unusual for family members to take the side of sibling in divorce situation. This has nothing to do with office; it is a fact of life. Your family believes you were right and he was a jerk and vise verse. What is not being reported except by CNN yesterday, was the fact, that three of the "Investigators" pushing "Trooper gate" in Alaska against Governor Sarah Palin are Senator Barack Obama's Alaska Presidential Campaign Manager and Two other Obama Campaign officials all holding office in Alaska. The commentary made was questioning whether this issue was just a Governor exercising her authority by firing a commissioner who wasn't investigating several different reports of a drunken state trooper in a patrol car, regardless of family ties; or whether the Obama Campaign and the Obama supporter investigators where blowing the investigation out of proportion due because of the election and her Republican VP candidacy. Personally, I believe it is the later, if there was any real abuse of authority, the State Attorney General would have stepped in along time ago and taken appropriate action against Governor Palin.

    • Posted By: bwlear @ 09/10/2008 3:34:20 PM

So in your mind the Obama ticket had advanced knowledge of Gov Palins selection as V.P. and started this investigation a year ago! Wow......

      • Posted By: rlb1961 @ 09/10/2008 3:43:52 PM

The investigation started in July, not a year ago. The point is not that Obama arranged for them to be in charge because he knew she would be the VP nominee - the point is that now that she is the nominee, they should recuse themselves from the investigation, as they have an inherent conflict of interest. However, they are refusing to do so, and so any results that come out of the investigation will be tainted as a political hatchet job...

        • Posted By: bwlear @ 09/10/2008 4:09:22 PM

This case has been going on for 3 years! This woman was not on anyone in the lower 48's mind until 2 weeks ago and now the Obama camp has currupted the process?
I know you Repubs have a " he thinks he's the second comming " thing with Sen Obama but do you really think he has the ability to travel thru time?

Talk about recluse themselves.....Should not the members of the US Supreme Court who had close family members working for the Bush Campaign in 2000, done this very thing??? But, then again, in Neocon LALA land, only Demos can have conflict of interests leveled against them.

      • Posted By: Therese in NV @ 09/10/2008 3:45:33 PM

No my close minded friend, I am saying "Troopergate", was really a non issue in Alaska and wasn't didn't really amount to anything until AFTER Governor Sarah Palin was chosen Republican VP Candidate. Now, a investigation by the "own word of the investigators", that was suppose to be finished by the end of September is being blown out of porportion. Why is it these same investigators were pretty satisfied with the outcome of the investigation as unsubstantiated just four weeks ago, are now trying to turn this investigation into a media frenzy? Do you really expect anyone with a brain to believe the Obama Campaign isn't applying pressure to the investigation? Especially since three of the investigators are Barack Obama's Alaska Campaign Manager and two Assistants? Get Real!

        • Posted By: bwlear @ 09/10/2008 4:03:21 PM

maybe if the Gov would present her side to the American people we could let this go. But since she has decided that she has no obligation to demonstrate her grasp of any of the issues this nation faces or understanding of the laws that cover who can, for what reason, and how to fire a state employee. Must be that "liberal press " again telling lies or maybe the Obama " secret dirt squad " requited the judge 3 years ago and made him warn the Palins to stop lying about her brother in law. Have you ever considered writing fiction novels? Open your eyes and maybe your mind will follow.

    • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 3:52:03 PM

Actually the State Attorney General is considered Governor Palin's lawyer. He led an investigation into troopergate before the legislature's investigator could begin his investigation. Some people in Ak thought it was witness tampering, but it was borderline, so that charge didn't stick.

I like the way they Newsweek saved the domestic violence thing for the end. I always figured that domestic violence was the reason for the divorce. First Wooten is a cop. I've never met a cop I couldn't pi$$e off and make abuse their power. Second families tend to go ballistic in domestic violence cases. No court or authority it will ever stop a family from seeking justice. Now that I know it was a domestic abuse case I think Palin's family is doing exactly what my family or my wifes family would do. So good for them. If I ever run across my brothers ex she's gonna get it. It would be worth the couple months in jail.

Palin is a typical Republican. Get iin office and use the power of the office to punish those with whom you disagree (like Bush did with the U.S. Attorneys). If Mccain and Palin are elected, we'll see cronyism and abuse of power that will make Dubya look like a flower child. They're both mean and vindictive, and McCain's has a temper that is something to behold.

Are you people for real? This is the most moronic lunacy ever. Look -- Palin had direct knowledge that this officer had committed conduct unbecoming an officer of the law (Driving a cop car with a beer), and physically assaulted his wife ( her sister) and had made personal threats against the lives of her own family members, not to mention tasering his stepson. With that knowledge , what is she supposed to do? Sit there and let him remain an officer of the law on her watch? What would you do?
