Another non-story. Why drag a divorce with all of it's soap opera foolishness into a campaign. Especially years ago. Why not talk about Obama admitting to a felony... using cocaine repeatedly.

Why drag a divorce from years ago because this information is relatively today! This issue is not resolved and still under investigation. The investigation is relating to candidate and her usage of power while holding a political office. Also, this goes to her reputation, morales, values, and mind-set. This is the person that McCain choose to represent the USA, if elected. So, all this information is relatively to make an informed decision. The USA was bamboozled 7 years ago with and I, for one, do not want to be bamboozled again. Why is Palin hiding and not coming forward to discuss her record and what she stands for? Is she just a show piece to win women votes? What is the really story behind Palin? The American people are waiting to hear from her in her own words and not those crafted by a speech writer. She criticized the media and any thing stated about her by the democrats is offensive and she is owed an apology. For what??? All the negative campaigning that McCain is doing is an insult and we are owed an apology.

WHY NOT TALK ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS FOR THE TODD & SARAH PALIN TO "DRAG" THIS THING ON FOR [17 MONTHS] AND WHY DID TODD & SARAH PALIN AS WELL AS JOHN MCCAIN'S CAMP, TRY TO HINDER THE PROGRESS OF THOSE SET IN PLACE TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS CONFLICT..HHH

NOTE: JOHN MCCAIN DID NOT VET THIS WOMAN AND THE [FBI] HAVE CLEARLY STATED THAT THEY DID NOT VET THIS WOMAN FOR THE MCCAIN CAMP OR THAT THE MCCAIN CAMP EVER REQUESTED THE [FBI VETTING SERVICES] AT ALL .

NOTE: THOUGH THE MAN SHE WANTED FIRED [WOOTEN] STILL WORKS AS A POLICEMAN IN ALASKA TO THIS VERY DAY, SO HOW VALID, WAS PALIN'S [17 MONTHS OF HARASSMENT WORTH] TO HER AND HER HUSBAND..HMMM

      NOTHING, NADA..NOT A DAMN THING...

IT HAS EXPOSED HER TO WHAT IS SURELY TO COME..

AN ABUSE OF POWER AND A VERY ILL WILLED PERSON AT THAT !!!

FATAL OBSESSION COMES TO MIND, BUT THIS TIME, ITS THE WIFE & HUSBAND EQUALLY OBSESSED WITH DESTROYING ANYONE THAT GETS IN THEIR WAY !!

If hearing Gods voice is part of her qualifications, I can find a whole host of potential VP candidates with similar qualities. Yours for the picking Republicans. Why stand on sanity since you haven't for the past 8 years.

    loriw,

You say that not all the facts are bing put out by the media, but you don't provide us with any resources that counterdict the information coming out. It's easy to claim media bias, please show some sort of proof, otherwise you're just asking us to believe what you say on faith. I for one will no longer accept the right-wing's ascertations without proof to back them up. They've lied to us for eight years now. If you and they want to be believed, you have to do more than just state things without proof.

    • Posted By: starkgranger @ 09/10/2008 2:26:59 PM

Just keep believing everything you read. Don't take time to think about it and look at it objectionably. Typical Liberal, as long as a liberal says it then it must be true.

But again, we will always be warry of the truth they present since the outright lies of WMD's

  • Posted By: gobstopper @ 09/10/2008 2:26:39 PM

the article is accurate in that it states that Palin was warned by a court to not disparage her then brother-in-law. whether or not she actually did disparage him is not the issue. this is a report on what is contained in an official court document, and that is a verifiable piece of evidence--again, not that she did any disparaging, but that the judge warned her. this is what we get when there is a total vacuum in the news cycle. a non-story as a story. however, given that palin has so little experience governing, it is only right that she should have every decision picked apart. obama has already gone through that while campaining against hillary. dance or get out of the kitchen.

Remember that movie IDIOCRACY? Where global corporations ruled the world and the public were uneducated consumers? And the country was run by a FORMER BEAUTY QUEEN???

Life imitating art???? I'm just sayin'........we deserve the government we get.

    • Posted By: SavethisCountry @ 09/10/2008 2:23:39 PM

I have to get that one. I guess the Cheney front man no longer is good for the corporate strategic fleecing of America. As you say, maybe now they see this beauty queen VP as the new face of 'their' change. Bush McCain is just the same with a name change.

Bush used cocaine and was also a draft dodger, but that all happened years ago so let's forget about it because this country is in such good shape now that he has been president the last 7.5+ years. Oh, and let's forget about the driving while intoxicated convictions too. Let's just all forget, and sing a chorus of "kumbaya" or "michael rowed his boat ashore". Don't worry, we'll never forget again.

So far I only the accuzation of tazering has surfaced - I believe that no judge would consider custody of a child to a parnet who has actually tazered the child. Divoreces get nasty - and false accusations do happen. If he really did tazor a child, then arrest him - don't try to get him fired!!!!

Sarah Palin reminds me of many woman that I know - attractive, funny, smart and affable on the outside and vicious and vindictive on the inside. Her "pitbull" instincts make her well suited to do McCain's mudslinging as many men will be more focused on her good lacks that her lack of substance. God Forbid, though, she and McCain win. Is this the sort of person we need to be heading up America's foreign policy?

It is obvious that the judge was commenting on disparaging Wooten to Wooten's children. That is why the judge stated repeatedly that "disparagement by either parent, or their surrogates is emotional child abuse." This has nothing to do with Gov. Palin's (or anyone else's) public comments about Trooper Wooten. If the judge was opining about slander, this article would actually make some sense.

Also note, the judge stated "either parent." 'Ex bashing' is unfortunate, but common. A judge likely makes these statements several times a day in divorce court.

    • Posted By: max in fl @ 09/10/2008 2:17:03 PM

Wow, you took the only line that gave Palin a fighting chance in YOUR mind and ran with it. The entire article was about Palin and her FAMILY going after her sister's ex even BEFORE she was governor. Once she was governor she STILL was going after him. Now I don't know if what she said about the officer is TRUE or just part of her plan to build a case full of lies so they would get him fired.

The way Palin went after Obama I just thought she was trying to put on a good show. NO, this is part of her personality. McCain was RIGHT,.. Washington is in trouble. Politicians are a lot like lawyers, after a bitter fight to win a case they can congratulate each other, shake each others' hand and MOVE on. NOW this OUTSIDER will be the VP of the US and SHE HOLDS a grudge. I would suggest you start listening to what THEY are saying. Palin likened herself to hockey moms when she said they are like pit bulls with lipstick. McCain warned everyone Palin is coming. We are sitting back saying they are kidding,.. they are not. Sarah, Mrs 'do as I say or else you WILL pay the consequences', Palin technique may work in Alaska but Washington does not need to be bullied for another 8 years. Look where Cheney's bullying got us. Notice HARDLY ANYONE spoke of him, he was not in the public eye except for that BRIEF moment when he shot his friend while hunting.

If given the chance, Palin the pitbull WILL disparage the senate and the house to get her way. Now her ex brother in law WILL finally be fired along with anyone that is protecting him. McCain the Manipulator can use her to his advantage. They can push the war for another 8 years. Between the two of them they can terrorize WASHINGTON. I pray for our troops but we need a force field around Track because if any happens to him....let's put it this way...McCain had better stay out of her way. I would not put enacting a draft bill past her. McCain the Warlord would have no problem approving it.

  • Posted By: starkgranger @ 09/10/2008 2:16:55 PM

Go Sarah! No one bothers to check out what the bad mouthing is all about. If it is a crime to bad mouth a peson then the dems are breaking the law every time the post and the MSM as well. Keep painting the picture you want to portray becuase the American people see through your use of pastels.

  • Posted By: Dahan @ 09/10/2008 2:15:19 PM

Looks like she and Dick Cheney are peas in a pod. Both using their power of office to intimidate others they don't like (Valerie Plame, etc.) and try to hush things up afterwords. This is the Republican's idea of change? More hot-headed, power hungry, idealists with ties to big oil? More lies? The only way people can be taken in by the McCain/Palin ticket is if they want to be. Either you have to think the last eight years were good, or you have to lie to yourself to vote for them. Very sad. The Republicans are no longer the party of Lincoln or even Reagan. They're the party of power at any cost.

  • Posted By: sabertxdad @ 09/10/2008 11:55:22 AM

I am a grandfather, father, brother, husband (26 years). The fact that Sarah Palin spoke out is not the question. Her attempted abuse of power as Govenor is? Let's not muddy the water. She is running on the ticket of change, because Obamma was winning with this platform. I see the same politics she is claiming to be different than. I was thinking McCain but he has lost my vote. She is not the answer, he had much better women choices and messed up. Stay on point of the issues people.
    1. She did not sell the plane on Ebay with a profit as stated by McCain in a speech. Sold to a lobbiest by broker.
    2. She has questionable expense reports as Govenor, I was not able to charge my wifes travel when she traveled with me on business. Her opponents are stating well its cheaper costs than the previous Govenor.
    3. God telling her the war in Iraq is Gods will. How different is this than a Muslim ratical.
    4. The bridge has been pointed out many times - as fiction or misleading the truth.
    5. Her attempts to ban books in a library - How is this being republican? The idea of small goverment not interfering with my rights and thoughts. What happen to the republican party of A. Lincoln and R. Reagan?

Conclusion: How is she any different than the corrupted administration we have now? If this officer was so bad why have we not heard about his abuse with civilians? Again abuse of power Republican or Dem is wrong and we need to put a stop to it!!!!!

    • Posted By: sabertxdad @ 09/10/2008 1:35:47 PM

      Thanks for your reply rocrude.
But I believe your mistaken about the Sold the Plane comments. Yesterday Senator McCain in his speach in Columbus I believe told supporters she sold the plane for a profit and on Ebay. In The Govenors speech at the convention she stated she sold the plane on Ebay. This maybe splitting hairs from your view but again, Down here in the lower 48 many are tired of the bogus explotation of activities that are are victicious and lies. I am happy as Govenor she is well liked. Then keep her dont ask me and others to accept the words she is spewing. I hope you relise Allah and God are the same. They believe in the one GOD! just different prophets. I believe in Jesus as my savior. They beilieve he was a prophet just like the Jews.
Do I think she has a right to change her mind? Oh yes! but she is implying she said no about the bridge. Again not quite the truth.

So how can I support a team of change which is no difference then what is there now?

      • Posted By: rocude @ 09/10/2008 2:12:48 PM

Comment: Thanks for your being level headed enough to have a normal conversation sabertxdad.
You are correct McCain did mis-speak regarding the issue, seriously, shame on him. Palin however did not. She said she ???put??? it on ebay, which she did and since it did not meet the minimum bid she sold it independently, a resolution I happen to respect, again can anyone name me anyone, much less Obama or Biden that has done anything remotely close to that to get back some tax payer money?
???Down here in the lower 48 many are tired of the bogus explotation of activities that are are victicious and lies. ??? I presume you???re trying to say that she???s a liar and is falsely exploiting her activities, she again however did not say she sold it on ebay, she said she put it on ebay, took guts to do that in my book. That???s the kind of cutting in expenditures I for one would like to see in our government, fussing at her for bringing 2.1 million back into the state is ridiculous in my eyes.
Glad to hear from a fellow believer and opposer of those that would seek to support infanticide and partial birth abortions like Obama and Biden. However, in Islamic doctrine God is not the Holy Trinity God, Holy Spirit, and Jesus. The belief that Allah is equivalent to a Trinity God is false, sorry. God is triune, Allah is not, to even suggest such a thing in Islam would be heretical. And are really going to suggest that her praying to God is the equivalent in this country to praying to Allah, it???s no wonder the middle east doesn???t respect us. Our own country doesn???t even support God anymore. Again, name me one thing that has improved as a result of us taking God out of the equation.

Regarding the bridge, how is she implying she said no about the bridge? Was the bridge built under her watch, no. Did she listen to her constituents as you would I hope want her to, yes. Did she utilize those funds elsewhere in her state as you would hope, yes.

Comparing Bush/Cheney to McCain/Palin is ridiculous. Both sides Dem/Rep have their own plans, McCain wants to cut taxes, eliminate wasteful spending as Palin has done, etc. Obama wants to redistribute income so that families making more than $250k can give money to people who don???t earn that much, and tax businesses in hopes that that wouldn???t impact the working class. Would you support another 4 years of Carter? There???s a reason he wasn???t re-elected, making the same comparison would be like saying electing Obama would be like re-electing Carter. I like to think however that both candidates have their own plans, and that comparisons to previous leaders is historically worthless.

Comment: I am a father, husband (16 years), and a big bad Christian conservative saved by the Love of God despite my many shortcomings.
??? The fact that Sarah Palin spoke out as a sister and aunt is not the question. Her attempted abuse of power as a citizen is, which is when the judge repeatedly told her to back off. Let's not muddy the water. She is not the answer, she is the VP candidate, yet Obama is spending waaay too much time talking about her instead of his own platform or McCain for that matter. Stay on point of the issues people.
      1. She said she ???put??? the plane on Ebay, which she did 3 times but had to sell it offline for 2.1 million for use back in the state. She did not say she sold it on Ebay. Any of your candidates ever do anything remotely close to that to cut spending?
      2. She has unquestionable expense reports as Governor. She has spent a fourth of the travel funds than that of her Democratic predecessor and the state finance director confirms that Alaska law stipulates that the Governor is entitled to a per diem which she if fully within her right to take. Her family is also entitled to a per diem for official business and she has only claimed those pay outs fractionally.
      3. God telling her the war in Iraq is Gods will. ???How different is this than a Muslim ratical.??? I???ll tell you what is different about her praying to God for guidance when making nationally impacting decisions instead of a muslim ratical praying to allah, praying to God for guidance is Biblical and is what this country was founded on. You tell me one thing in this country that has gotten better the more we have taken God out it.
      4. The bridge has been pointed out many times, she agreed with it before office then disagreed with it after getting in her office, cancelled the project and used the funds on better projects for the state partially resulting in a 90% approval rating last year. Has no one ever cancelled a project they initially thought was okay and thought better of it and used the funds to better their business/government?
      5. Her attempts to ban books in a library ??? False. She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on the stupid lies going around were not even in print at the time. The librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.
Conclusion: How is she any different than the corrupted administration we have now? Vastly, I???d say, she stands up against baseless accusations thrown at her first, she cuts spending, she has consistently had one of the highest approval ratings of any Governor in our country, she opposes infanticide and partial birth abortion, and she???s not scared to admit that she prays to and seeks God???s plan for her office and this country. She was told by a judge to not badmouth her sisters ex when Palin was still a private citizen, the nerve of that woman trying to run for VP!!!!!

      • Posted By: sabertxdad @ 09/10/2008 1:41:54 PM

The books - She is recorded as stating "What would you do if I forced the issue on banning some books?" She asked this of the libraian in a town meeting. I do not know anything about a list of books. I am not sure why anyone would support banning books? Her actions do not support republicans for change and new ways....

The fact that she can't stop whining about her former brother-in-law like a petty 12 year old says a lot about her character.

I don't want someone this immature and vindictive in charge of balancing my checkbook, let alone be a heartbeat away from running the whole country.

Okay rocude, - Whether Palin was just Palin, or Palin was mayor, or Palin was governor - she was just a "regular citizen". Or perhaps you think holding a political office makes you more than a "regular citizen"? Maybe you think holding a political office makes you something special, some sort of royalty? Maybe you think bush and cheney are king and assistant king, and not just citizens? Hate to burst your bubble , but all of us including palin, mccain, bush , cheney, biden, and obama are just "regular citizens". I'd tell you to ask richard nixon about that but he is gone, may he rest in peace. obama knows it - that's why he gets my vote.
