i tink is sad that american women are being fuled by this woman who doesn't support any woman issues even to the point of opposing them hypitcrittically, she want the "choice" to deal with her daughter but says she does support prochoice and would take it away from everyone else even while using it herself?

    • Posted By: FutureExPatriot @ 09/10/2008 8:48:04 AM

Hey stupid... Not supporting women's issues? Palin supports MOTHERHOOD... the single largest women's issue on the planet.. I can imagine that if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pregnant only the abortionist would have probably known about it.

      • Posted By: mbarnich @ 09/10/2008 9:50:19 AM

FutureExPatriot , Motherhood is certainly not my biggest issue and I am a woman. And, re: Chelsea Clinton, if pigs had wings... The fact is that Chelsea Clinton was smart enough NOT to get pregnant at 17. This Bristol person is a moron. And, by the looks of his myspace page, the person she chose to breed with is a real idiot. Devolution right in front of out eyes.

      • Posted By: colleeny @ 09/10/2008 9:21:42 AM

Hey, don't call people stupid because they have a different opinion. And just because you have borne children doesn't make you ready to lead the free world. Chelsea didn't get pregnant because her parents didn't allow her to run wild unchaperoned at 16 while they were out pursuing their careers. I am a stay-at-home mother of two who finds nothing to support in the Palin pick. Barack and Michelle most resemble my "traditional values."

Hey moron Palin's daughter Bristol is having her second baby! Just who does Palin think she's kidding? You must be as dumb as the day is long. Trig is the daugher's baby just look at the videos of them together-the ones Palin didn't remove in time from the website! This woman is a pig with lipstick! Didn't she explain what makes babies to the daughter?

WHAT I CAN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND IS WHY IS EVERYONE TRYING TO MAKE THIS WOMAN ( SARAH PALIN ) OUT TO BE THE GREATEST THING SINCE SLICE BREAD. WE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS WOMAN BEFORE SHE WAS ANNOUNCED AS McCAIN VP CHOICE....NOW WE HAVE A WORLD WIDE FAN CLUB OF SARAH PALIN FANS WHO THINK JUST BECAUSE SHES A WOMAN . THAT SHE WILL MAKE A GREAT VICE PRESIDENT...WRONGGGGGGGGG, WE NEED SOMEONE IN OFFICE THAT WILL NOT FOLLOW THE BUSH PATH TO NO WHERE...WE NEED CHANGE !!!! AND THATS WITHOUT DOUBT. BUT BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT I WROTE, ASK YOURSELF THIS. " IF SARAH PALIN, WAS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. WOULD YOU VOTE FOR HER ???? WELL YOU MATTER WELL, BECAUSE IF ANYTHING EVER HAPPEN TO McCAIN. SHE WILL BE YOUR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!! AND IF SHES SOMEONE THAT YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN LIVE WITH AS PRESIDENT. THEN BY ALL MEANS VOTE FOR HER, BUT DON'T START CRYING LIKE A CHILD WITH A SKINED KNEE WHEN THE MAKE UP COMES OFF AND SHE TRANSFORMS INTO GEORGE W. BUSH !!!!!! BUT WHAT THIS RACE IS REALLY ABOUT IS THAT AMERICA. DON'T WANT A BLACK PRESIDENT !!!! THATS WHY THERES SUCH A RUSH TO SARAH PALIN, BECAUSE AMERICA SEE'S HER AS THE LESS OF TWO EVILS...LOOK FOLKS, LETS BE REAL. 8 YEARS OF BUSH DID'NT WORK, WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT 4 MORE YEARS OF THE SAME THING, BUT IN A DIFFERENT WRAPPER. GIVE CHANGE A CHANCE. AND LOOK PASS COLOR. IF NOT THEN WE AS AMERICANS ARE DOOMED TO RELIVE 4 EXTRA YEARS OF THE SAME CRAP WE GOT FROM BUSH...MORE WAR, AND LESS TRYING TO FIX WHATS WRONG RIGHT HERE IN THE GOOD OLD USA " AND THATS REAL TALK !!!! "

    • Posted By: FutureExPatriot @ 09/10/2008 8:44:54 AM

Oh yeah... Let's have CHANGE!!!! Ha Ha. Let's have an admitted cocaine user such as Obama for president right?

      • Posted By: mbarnich @ 09/10/2008 9:46:15 AM

FutureExPatriot , we tried your cocaine user, George Bush and you didn't bitch about that.

      • Posted By: Jo in Tennessee @ 09/10/2008 9:27:47 AM

Wow, JAYMESJ, now it's racial to vote for a person. Do you want to discuss that with the black community who will probably vote 97% for Obama? Show me a minority presidential candidate with QUALIFICATIONS and I will vote for him/her in a New York minute! As an independent voter, I am still looking for that renaissance American, like ole Ben Franklin, instead of these fools in both parities.

To Rolyat136, re: whatever happened to the first amendment... The first amendment was not included to protect political bullies like Sarah Palin.

Well thanks for the information - I must have missed that "political bullies" exception to the Bill of Rights. Where did you find it?

Harrassment is a punishable offence in Illinois. Orders of protection and gag orders can be used to quash or punish offenders. IF Ms. Palin is to enforce the law of the land, she must also abide by it. Regardless of personal feelings or her personal interpretation of events, she must be true to the truth. Her actions imply that she is a loose cannon and cannot be trusted to render an unbiased opinion to the constituency of her state or of our country. I question her choice as a potential president of the United States.

  • Posted By: rocude @ 09/10/2008 8:54:42 AM

OOOH WOW! What great journalism! I am soooo thankful you dug up a story about the VP candidate not getting along with a trooper that tasers his own stepson from three years ago and still doesn't agree with it. Way to go! This is so much more important than things like infantacide and partial birth abortions. Now we got Palin where we want her!

    • Posted By: Tappy McWidestance @ 09/10/2008 9:35:37 AM

Yeah, I mean she did such a great job covering up child abuse of her nephew that this only became public when she decided to become a VP candidate and needed something to refute the charges of abuse of power from the Alaskan Legislature. After all, any reponsible person would have sat on a child abuse charge for 3 years and not protect her nephew until she could make a personal gain from it should be the best candidate for Vice-President, right?

    What Wealth?
Georgie and his cabal have already gone through it.

Grow up Wolfe757. Just because you disagree with an article is not indicative of bias. You say you haven't bought a Newsweek magazine in a decade, yet you continue to read the "biased" article. Gov. Palin clearly isn't the lily white savior some people would have us believe. During the early part of the year and into the Summer so many stories of dubious origin and value were aired ad nauseum about Obama, did you think it was bias then? Remember the Rev. Wright marathon and blowing up "bitter" way out of proportion and meaning?

The editors of newsweek and newsweek itself are well known to be bias for obama, this is just one of many smear articles that this magazine has put out against Palin. They should try telling the whole truth to the story and not try to slant it for the liberals.I guess this is why I have not purchased a newsweek magazine in over 15 years I probably will never purchase another.

Here we see just what Sarah Palin thinks of America. She defies our judicial system. She is arrogant and dangerous. Oh, and dumber that a fencepost.

  • Posted By: quiver355 @ 09/10/2008 9:12:29 AM

If the Dems played the GOP game, The next headline would read:

" Sarah Palin accused of child abuse by Alaskan Court Judge".

  • Posted By: rolyat136 @ 09/10/2008 9:27:53 AM

The import of the judge's protective order is that regardless of the truth of the allegations against Mr. Wooten,
Ms. Hackett and her relatives (e.g. Ms. Palin) were forbidden from speaking about them. Whatever happened to the First Amendment ? How come Mr, Wooten hasn't brought a lawsuit for damages ?
The Palins are not normal people - normal people wait for a death or serious injury to result from domestic violence before publicly complaining about it. Then we could all sympathize with her.

When Sarah Palin signed on, she, like the others, opened herself up to public scrutiny and evaluation. The way she handles her power is definitely part of the analysis. Her honesty in matters that are self-serving is also open to scrutiny!

  • Posted By: lm_cco @ 09/10/2008 8:28:20 AM

The issue here is abuse of power. We know that Palin prides herself on ferociously fighting any battle she chooses, using any and all means. But government officials are not permitted to use their offices and influence to fight personal battles like a threatened momma-bear. This is called corruption. It is also poor judgement as the kids involved can become terrified that they themselves would be subject to the same treatment if they step out of line. The judge showed judgement. Palin did not.

    • Posted By: FutureExPatriot @ 09/10/2008 8:40:08 AM

If the local and state government had done it's job and fired Wooten then ordinary citizens would not have to pressure for their being disciplined. The corruption is really that of the public officials not acting responsibly in the first place. Shame on that judge.

      • Posted By: lm_cco @ 09/10/2008 8:50:32 AM

But that's the point. When a person is elected Governor -- or Vice President -- they are no longer just an ordinary person. Palin failed the first test as Governor that required her to separate her job from her personal life. That is very, very much an issue in any election. But most politicians at that level -- male and female -- manage to pull it off.

        • Posted By: mslindab @ 09/10/2008 9:06:20 AM

I agree. I was more inclined to cut her slack until I read about the judge's warning her and her family off. Clearly he didn't think Wooten was a danger to them or he might have approved a restraining and/or protection order.

          • Posted By: lm_cco @ 09/10/2008 9:26:29 AM

Unfortunately, women are often unfairly accused of not being able to compartmentalize work and family and separate them. Palin's failure to separate the two reinforces the stereotype of women that politicians like Hilary Clinton have worked so hard and so long to prove wrong.

  • Posted By: Ossifier @ 09/10/2008 9:26:20 AM

Wow! Bombshell. Emotional child abuse?! Pretty ugly, but not as scary as Mcain/Palin overturning Roe v Wade and starting world war III.

  • Posted By: emfloo @ 09/10/2008 9:26:12 AM

Unbelievable. Is she the best choice he could get to accept the VP job?
