Well isnt this just what Americans love, scandal, and more scandal and now from a VP candidate. Unbelievable!

I am not a Palin fan and I certainly believe that Troopergate requires investigation. That said, it is quite an unfortunate commonplace reality that when one parent (almost always the mother) and that parent's family try to protect children from domestic violence at the hands of another parent (almost always the father), judges frequently lash out at the non-abusive parent which charges of parental alienation.

I live in Anchorage. What we have here is a bad cop. The Anchorage Daily News conceded as much last Sunday although questioned her approach. Alaska seems to have more than it's share of bad cops (and corrupt legislators who we are systematicaly sending to prison). The 'sytem' here protects these people.

If I did half of what this cop did, I wouldn't get a week off work and a letter in my file, I'd lose my car, be in jail or have child welfare on my back. Tell you what, If anyone wants to take his side, we'll send him to your town.

      Questioned her approach???
More like told her to answer the questions.
What we have here is a bad cop AND a lying, vindictive Governor.

Trooper stun guns a 10 year old kid who gave his conscent. Guy belongs in jail with the homo child raping priests whose victims probably also gave their conscent.

  • Posted By: Turk943 @ 09/10/2008 12:34:25 AM

Wow, I hope MSNBC mistakenly loped off the rest of the article. Where is Sarah's side of the story? Can't believe Newsweek would only print Wooten's half of the story....What I don't understand is why Wooten is not in jail after tazering his own stepson, but no he is still on the job. You would think a State Trooper would be held to a higher standard of conduct on and off the job. The Media is going to need to find better dirt than this. Keeping "fetting" Sarah and watch the lead widen for McCain.

    • Posted By: sherrybb @ 09/10/2008 4:15:15 AM

Don't you remember, palin isn't allowed yet to talk to the media.

    • Posted By: BunchofChemies @ 09/10/2008 12:46:32 AM

I saw the interview of Wooten in which he admitted the use of the training Tazer was a mistake. What he said he did was he allowed his stepson to convince him to apply the electrodes of a training device meant to simulate a milder than usual Tazer. Wooten said the stepson, 11, thought it felt "cool" and bragged to his buddies about it. Not great judgment, but hardly shooting his stepson in anger....

Everyone else was smart enough to give up at 3:30. Good night to everyone else here which I think is just me. Have a great evening......morning comes early.

what does it say about the repubs that they can't even find McCain a running mate who's not under legislative investigation? I mean the brother-in-law doesn't sound the most stand up guy, but really using your weight as governor to settle a family squabble. Not someone I want in power.

    • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 3:50:35 AM

      oops, two "terms"

    • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 3:42:20 AM

Personally I think it is the normal power begets more power. They are in power and think they can spin anything their way. Look at all the scandals in the last couple of years. Power un-checked is trouble which is why the constitution limits a president to two years. Bush could have spun himself back into office for term three except the founding fathers saw him comming.

    9-10-08

Palin seems to think it goes from God to her to the rest of the world..........but her behavior seems anything but Christian.....more like a dictator. Shame on her. Talk the talk then walk the walk...seems she can't.

    • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 3:30:43 AM

As I recall there was something about worship no idol before me. I guess they missed that part. Elephant before god....war for god??????? Palin must have an inside track or she is using it for what she can. She may attend church regularly but she has alot of splaining to do when she gets there. Sorry, Ricky Ricardo slipped in......

Okay....I was wrong about the "troopergate" scandle. Here is what I found....

    Palin's bogus "Troopergate"

    You might find this interesting....

There is a time-line and info.

    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2072102/posts

Monegan admits to the Anchorage press that NO ONE (Gov. Palin, Palin's husband or Palin's staff) asked that trooper Wooten be fired.

Monegan is a governor appointee and can be fired at any time for any reason (or no reason)

The chief investigator/overseer admitted (before any depositions or investigating) that it will be an "October Surprise", "damaging to the governor", and even hinted at possible criminal charges (aka: impeachment).

According to Fox News, several top Palin investigators were spotted at
    Obama Headquarters (Alaska) in July.

Go to andrewhalcor.com for info on the trooper "scandle"

    • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 12:48:42 AM

OK, the fact that the VP pick was under investigation before the pick doesn't concern you? Obviously the republican boys club was confident they could SPIN it. You are welcome to cancel out my Obama vote because that is the democratic way. I would however recommend that you get your information from multiple sources if you get your political info from Bill OReilly. He doesn't even pretend to be objective.

Just a different opinion, it is all about debate even in blog.

  • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 3:10:14 AM

    How about another Palinism.
Initially she said she did not want to fire Commissioner Monegan, but offered him a job with the the Alcohol Board. She said he was not a good Commissioner because he was "too focused" on rural alcohol problems.
She brought in her new Commissioner, Kopp, and said she brought him on board for a new direction.
When she was asked what the new direction was, she said that the department was going to focus on rural alcohol problems.
You can look this up if you go back to the Anchorage Daily News for July.
The words coming out of her mouth do not make sense.
Up is down. North is South. It makes you dizzzy if you listen to it long enough.

Can someone tell me how Palin is going to be different from Cheney or Bush? It reminds me of what Rove did to the former governor of Alabama.

    • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 3:09:40 AM

Enlighten me please. Cheney has done a lot of things. What did he do to the governor of Alabama?

  • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 3:07:45 AM

I see loriW....Bush must have left. Too bad I enjoy a good debate. If McCain wins I would like to move to Canada but Bush (McCain wannabe) has made my house worth less than when I bought it seven years ago. It hasn't got much ink but the HDTV. legislation benefits Best Buy and other similar corporations. BTW,
TVs generally come from China. Credit card companies naming their price once they get you as a customer is also the result of Bush/republican legislation. On the subject of forclosures, that is also the result of republicans in bed with the financial institutions. I understand corporations and the wealthy voting republican but they have really snowed the middle class who still see it as a moral issue.

The fact of the matter remains that Palin is being shielded by the RNC while it tries to cover up a smelly fish with Febreeze. The McCain campaignof fear tactics and playing on a nation's fears that has enjoyed prosperity for years is the ultimate betryal to the country and the people that live in it. People, wake up form this trance and see reality before it is too late.

Hey LoriW, did you know that Palin's sister was still married to the trooper when the alleged tasering occurred? All this didn't come out until they were getting a divorce. You know as well as anyone how bitter divorces happen - people throw allegations around like confetti. Not saying he did it with malice or not, but if he did do it with malice, why did she stay married to him? Doesn't that make her an accomplice?

    • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 2:38:43 AM

That was part of the problem with the complaints. They all came out during the divorce. Heck, Palin gave Trooper Wooten a glowing review at one point.
There was a charge of taking a moose without a permit. The Heath (Palin) family butchered it and put it in their freezer. They ate the evidence.
Can you imagine that hearing? Yes your Honor. It was horrible and illegal, but the meat was too tasty. We couldn't help ourselves.

Repubilcans, if you want to redeem what has been done for the last 8 years, you should be advocating for the truth than defending someone like Palin. What is wrong with you fellows? Ignoring the elephant in the room has coast you an embarassment. What if McCain and Palin win this election? What will be your explanation the next time? Wake Up America, ask the question before it is too late? Engage and encourage the Palin to answer the people's question. Hiding behind the lawyer might delay but the truth will be uncovered.

  • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 2:09:42 AM

During Palin's reign in Alaska she has gone against the legislature and the Department of Public Safety.
Both times it was ugly. She seems unable to lead and resorts to bullying people to get her way.
We have a local Sunday feature here in the Anchorage Daily Newscalled The Ear. It is a reliable source of local gossip.
It reported that after firing Monegan, her replacement (Kopp) also tried to fire the Deputy Commissioner. It was not just about changing leadership, it was punitive. It was about decapitating the Department of Public Safety leadership because she did not get her way.
I think this shows her vindictiveness and her inability to put aside her emotions.
I would never vote for her for anything.

    • Posted By: repubshadenoughyet? @ 09/10/2008 2:25:23 AM

I really wanted to here an Alaskan point of view. Michigan leans republican so there I get alot of opportunity for debate. As with all of us in the blog we have opinions about our leaders good or bad. Nice to hear that McCain/Palin are two peas in a pod. It will make for an interesting election year. In November they find out just how pissed off the electorate is.

  • Posted By: lilysdaddy @ 09/10/2008 1:58:43 AM

Go to Andrewhalcro.com if you want the details about troopergate.
I live in Alaska and I think the guy has the facts.

    • Posted By: Pupster @ 09/10/2008 2:10:38 AM

Wow, thanks. It's always good to consider another informed opinion.

  • Posted By: giovannis @ 09/10/2008 2:02:15 AM

we should expect more. What else Palin dipped her self in to? America wake up. Once she is in the White House, no authority could touch her. She is the VP and remain emmunized. Wake up! Ask the question befor it is too late.

  • Posted By: irislady60 @ 09/10/2008 1:52:10 AM

I think Palin will eventually be brought down along with McCain. Right now, everyone is so impressed with her, Her $375.00 glasses, her smooth talking way, she is very poised and presents herself to the public with style and is able to talk the talk.
    .
Well, a lot of stuff is coming down on her right now and if the right news media can get the negative information out about her without the McCain campaign squishing it then the people of this great country will finally hear the truth about her. I already know the truth and she is a LIER!!!!!!!!!!!about most of the things she has told us!!!

I have been doing a lot of reading about Palin and McCain and I at first thought Palin was a gift for the party and just maybe could help McCain change the direction of our country. Now, I truly believe, she is full of hot air and a mouth full of lies. The McCain campaign will do everything in their power to squash as much negative information that is coming out from her mouth and the news media.

I hope everyone will really open up their ears and listen to what is happening. Listen to CNN, MSNBC, and read, read, read before you make any decision for any candidate.

Does everyone really want 4 years of McCain/Palin that will take after Bush?? Everyone has complained about Bush with only a 35% approval rating and now, everyone is willing to bring McCain into the White House with Palin riding on his skirt tail????????????????? If this happens, don't start complaining when the country goes further down the tubes. The only ones that will win is McCain/Palin. Don't come home crying to Ma Ma!!!

    Get the facts now, Please
