Mr. McCain will win - Florida, Georgia, NC and SC, ND and SD, Wyoming, Virginia, Nevada (maybe), Indiana, Missouri, Montana, Texas (What???s left of it after the storm), Mississippi, Kansas, Kentucky (Of course) Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Arizona (Of course). And Alaska ??? the second most corrupt state run by a clumsy, ham-fisted, righteous lobby hound (She is big oil).

Level of education people. Even if this level of educated citizenry believes the lies, and don???t notice that Mr. McCain has not to date spoken of an issue, this populous stays in the same states. They make noise, blog hate, discriminate, insult and use hostile verbiage while propping up an inept VP candidate, and a Presidential candidate who should be leaving office, not running for it. Fact-check pretty much says it all. All he did was lie and he continues to do so ??? and will do it so long as it works. The more progressive states will not bend either, so it???s coming down to the wire. Vote! Do not let the Super-Liar, bank robber and his cover-up, Zealot inexpert mother win.

I would like the feminists here who see Gov. Palin overstepping her bounds to go to website: www.womenandpolicing.org. You will find that there is a law against anyone carrying or being in possession of a gun when there is a court order in relation to any domestic violence case. The judge screwed up and the public safety commission and union carried out the miscarriage of justice concerning trooper Wooten. This website also points out that even though it is federal law most police agencies fail to obey the law and cover it up. It also points out the number of cases where this was not followed and a family member was murdered. Does Drew Pearson ring a bell? He should have lost his guns when there was the first restraining order.

benuluclar has a point. We had a Rep. President and a Rep. congress, and see where it got us. They went on the biggest spending bing in history. The congress was so fearful if the questioned the Bush Whitehouse the Key Street money would be pulled. They bullied all including A. Spector a good Rep. Senator
They also told more lies on John Mccain than we care to hear. The nice thing is whether Obama or Mccain win the Bush people need to be shown the door the first day. The real concern is mcCain's V/P
A very , very , Green person to run our country. I think I will vote for obama . Its just a more secure choice,
McCains just to old . I know that His V/P would rip this country appart.

    • Posted By: benluclar @ 09/11/2008 10:24:15 AM

Yes, your comments are valid about the Republicans. They are also valid about McCain's age, which is a concern, but I am going to have to go with my gut in voting for him, because, although Palin may be 'green', she is, still, only playing second chair.
Obama, the 'green' candidate also, is in first chair. The true leader in that duo is Biden. But he is in second chair nonetheless.
Do I vote for the green candidate with the ability in second chair, waiting hopefully for his turn?
Do I vote for the capable candidate who is slightly older than I am, with the green backup sitting there... and LEARNING in the meantime of what may or may not occur with her mentor?
I must logically say, the latter is a better choice to me.

      • Posted By: Yogin @ 09/11/2008 11:26:50 PM

Whoooaaa! Do your homework please. Saying that she is only playing the second is deluding yourself to the bigger picture here. The average human life expectancy in the United States is 75 Years! If you are healthy! The reality of this Palin , no experience newcomer being President is a very realistic possibilty!
Do your work on aging and its effects and then decide whether Mcain should even be president. With all due respect for his service and all, No! He should not be president and No! Palin should not be put in a position that could make her president.

This article states that a Domestic Violence Protective Order was issued and was rescinded months later.

The Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban is federal criminal law which the Alaska State Public Safety Commissioner had no discretion in not enforcing. If the State Trooper had a protective order issued against him, the State Public Safety Commissioner should have terminated the State Trooper without being asked by anybody. It is a felony to violate the federal Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban. News reports state that the estranged spouse filed for divorce and a domestic violence protective order on April 11 2005 against the State Trooper. Protective orders are customarily issued. If a protective order was issued, the federal criminal statute Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban should resolve all of the current controversy surrounding any inappropriate contacts between the Governor???s office and the State Public Safety Commissioner. If a protective order was issued, the State Public Safety Commissioner is clearly way out on a limb on the wrong side of the law in this matter. It would take one call to the court to find out if a protective order was issued and that would have been enough for the Public Safety Director to act.

Sounds to me like Trooper Wooten needed a good a** kickin* if he even remotely did what he was accused of.
I would like to have a sister like Sarah Palin who would do everything to get the jerk fired.

Newsweek reports that Wooten had once been the subject of a court-imposed domestic-violence protection order. Newsweek further reports that a court filing by Wooten's lawyer indicates that within months of being issued, the violence protection order was dismissed.

There is no language in the federal criminal statute Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban that states or provides that Alaskan State Troopers are exempt from its provisions. Anyone including State Troopers are guilty of a federal felony punishable by five years in prison and a $100,000 fine for simple mere possession of a firearm if they are subject to an ordinary protective order for domestic violence. Importantly the reports state that the estranged spouse filed for divorce and a domestic violence protective order on April 11, 2005 against the State Trooper. This article reports that a protective order had been issued for a period. In most cases protective orders are customarily issued. Under new federal law, anyone subject to a protective order or convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault or felony assault is subject to a ban on possession or use of a handgun for a minimum of five years or at least to the end of the protective order. Some have argued that the ban is forever even after the protective order expires. The Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban is a federal law that applies to everyone including police officers and servicemen and servicewoman. Anyone in the military is subject to a discharge if a protective order is issued against them. It is a felony to violate the federal law Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban and the penalty is five years in prison. Every day that the trooper wore his sidearm or rode in his patrol car with a shotgun in the trunk, he was committing a felony and violating the federal law. If a protective order was issued and the trooper became subject to the order, the trooper should have been ineligible to be a State law enforcement officer and it would have been a slam dunk to terminate him. The State Police Commissioner should have been aware of this law and should have terminated the brother-in-law without being asked. The State Commissioner failure to uphold the federal law should have been enough grounds for his own termination.

I know someone eerily similar in her behavior to Palin. She, like Palin, seeks to destroy you if you cross her, She has two kind of people in her life, her Friends and her Enemies. Plain, like the one I know, will stop at nothing, will weven break the law to get revenge, not caring who is hurt, children and adults both. I predict that if Sarah Palin does become the Vice-president, it will be just a meeter of time berfore she is REMOVED FROM OFFICE for ABUSE OF POWER, SEEKING REVENGE, AND VICIOUS, VINDICTIVE ACTIONS. Seen her kind before. Hitler would be proud of their actions.

Most Americans if someone threatened to kill their parents would do anything possible to prevent it. Family and values are most important. The Democrats of the very tiny minority who don't value family values in Alaska are trying to hurt a great American leader. As usual, the Democrats hate WOMEN, FAMILY, and VALUES. The Democrats who like women, family, and family values will continue to thick highly of Sarah Palin if they put aside partisan interests.

There is likely no merit in the ethics complaint against Governor Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin should not have to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened. Even if there was any merit to the complaint one could argue convincingly that it would have been prudent for her to intervene in this case given the recent publicity regarding the disappearance and death respectively of the last two wives of former and now retired police Sergeant Drew Peterson in Bollingbrook Illinois a Chicago suburb, the death of the nine-month pregnant girlfriend of convicted former police officer Bobby Cutts in Ohio, and the pending murder trial of Pennsylvania State Trooper and homicide investigator Kevin Foley for the stabbing murder of the soon to be dentist ex-husband of his live-in girlfriend that occurred two days before the effective date of the final divorce decree. Sarah Palin should not have to have waited until her sister disappeared before she intervened in the trooper case. In the Foley case, Pennsylvania Trooper Kevin Foley lived with the estranged wife of a dentist who was viciously stabbed to death and thrown through the window of his own home two years ago. Pennsylvania State Trooper Foley specialized in homicide investigations and allegedly had been quoted as repeatedly stating in a State Police barracks break room in front of other State Troopers and supervisors as wishing that the dentist ex-husband would be killed in a car wreck or would otherwise die. Reportedly, his fellow state troopers did not take his threats seriously although they told him to stop making the threats against the now deceased dentist. Remember also in the Drew Peterson case, there were 18 eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to the Drew Peterson residence outside Chicago.

Remember also in the Drew Peterson case, there were 18 eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to the Drew Peterson residence outside Chicago. In the eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to his home, Drew Peterson was never arrested or charged by his fellow officers with whom he worked. The only person ever charged by his fellow officers in all of Peterson???s domestic violence cases was his now deceased ex-wife. Any investigation into the conduct of her ex-brother-in-law trooper by his own department, the Alaska State Police and Pubic Safety Commissioner, should have been viewed with the same skepticism as the eighteen separate investigations into the conduct of Drew Peterson by his fellow officers. It clearly can be argued that the prudent course of action was for Governor Sarah Palin to intervene given the almost near universal blue wall of silence that often prevents investigation of police misconduct by their fellow officers, superiors, and even other outside law enforcement agencies. In light of the recent murders of spouses and girlfriends by police officers in other states, any alleged intervention by Governor Sarah Palin involving her ex-brother-in-law was not unethical or unreasonable, rather it was probably the more prudent course of conduct. Sarah Palin should not have had to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened.

Yes, and this is just one red flag among many with Sarah Palin. The fact that she allowed herself to become pregnant at 44 is more than a little disturbing as well. And then people wonder why teens get pregnant when they have such "good" role models. :0

    • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/10/2008 5:27:03 PM

Hey Mitsy, in case you hadn't heard, as long as a woman is ovulating, there isn't but one form of birth control that is 100% certain to prevent pregnancy -- abstinence. These kinds of things happen to women even when they are being careful.

But maybe you don't have that to worry about any more.

If I might let me tell you a bull dog is a good thing. I am currently suffering through Liver Cancer. When I went to emergency room services 9 years ago I didn't know what was going on. My doctor was like a little bull dog who sank in is teeth a didn't let go till he found what was wrong. I wish there more around like him. But the expression just as in my life can mean really good things come with those who are persistent in doing the right job. My doctor seemed like a pest at first. His diagnosis took six very hard months and the disease I had had only been recently discovered. Because he has watched over me and cared for me I have had a good 9 years with my family and when the cancer started two months ago he has been right there and fighting to get me transplanted. A bull dog is desirable if you have a real problem, that why they considered Winston Churchill a bull dog in his time.
