Palin switched colleges 6 times in 6 years - What more can I say other than the fact that a roling stone gathers no moss!

    • Posted By: Andy Alice @ 09/10/2008 9:45:57 AM

Has anyone researched this frequent change of colleges? Often the student is encouraged to transfer or leave the college for behavioral or scholastic issues. e.g. If the appropriate academic achievement is not reached, the degree will not be permitted to be completed. If mental health is an issue, treatment or transfer may be the only option. Will someone please research this and report?

I have never heard of a young person attending six colleges to earn a basic university degree.

Everything about this woman is a lie. She's not qualified. McCain chose her only to stir up controversy because his campaign was dead and he was not getting any attention. This lad has so many allegations surrounding her and McCain needed something to keep the media's attention on him. It shows bad judgment on him and his character to choose an unqualified, lying, manipulative and irrational lunatic just to win the race. To hear both of them talk is sickening because there is no substance. Talk is cheap but I'm more concerned with are issues, which they have yet to address. Then these stupid people getting on national TV saying that she's fun. What kind of nonsense is that. You don't even know the woman.

Obviously, McCain has no plan because he want speak to that effect. All he does is uses Palin to tell jokes to try to demean someone's character. Well, she's is in no position to talk about nobody with all the drama surrounding her and her family. If she wants to tell jokes at least get paid.

If I were Obama, I wouldn't try to defend myself. He's not running against her. All he needs to do is stick to the issues and McCain. How in the hell this witch thinks she can tell somebody what to do with their body? She's insane and people are going to see this woman really is...McCain is desperate and he should be ashamed of the way he's run his campaign. Then to have these high profile republicans speaking on her behalf as if they really know her. McCain only knew her 15 minutes before he chose her as his VP....Yet, these clowns get on tv talking about she's this, she's that, she's great! WTF????? you don't know her...republicans are full of lies, deceit, hypocrisy, thieves.....full of everthing......Palin is unstable, unethical......she's a fool but even worse an almost educated fool....republicans can pretend all they want to but the people know this is really not your chosen golden child...

Then McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time now all of a sudden he wants to distant himself from the man and has the nerves lately to talk about change. A leopard doesn't change its spots. people don't change overnight. He'll say anthing to get elected but it will still be the same....Didn't McCllean embarrass you republicans enough....

    • Posted By: blackcourt @ 09/10/2008 10:19:57 AM

What issues aren't they talking about? Its pretty obvious with comments like this that you aren't doing any homework on the people you are talking about in this hate filled rant.

She's not telling anyone what they can do with their body... she's telling people that they shouldn't be killing babies. I guess people like you think its alright to do whatever it takes to save a tree... but fight for the right to murder innocent children. How much sense does that make?

What about a high 70% approval rating as Governer of Alaska are you missing? Or would you rather have the Democrats and their senate majority with a 13% approval rating running the country?

McCain has voted with President Bush 90% of the time because thats common practice among the policies that they are laying out. I'm willing to bet that you could look at his record and Obama has voted with Bush a VAST majority of the time as well.

McCain isn't Bush... no matter how much Obama would like to convince you that he is. If you want to talk about someone avoiding the issues... just look at Obama's latest advertising campaign. All he wants to do is make people believe that McCain and Bush are the same people. He doesn't have an argument to make he is running on the same principle that Kerry did... "I'm not Bush. Vote for me."

Palin can keep her moral advice to herself.

Palin put her sexual pleasure ahead of the health of her baby. Thanks to Palin's poor judgment her baby is disabled for life.

How many innocent children have been killed in Iraq in the war Bush lied to start.

      • Posted By: wtfcherry @ 09/10/2008 10:57:32 AM

I'm not full of hate but I am full of the truth, and the truth is obviously you support McCain and your candidate is not talking about issues such as health care, welfare reform, the elderly, the VA, education, inflaton, mortgages, enery, the environment, wages, .........I could go on. But these are issues McCain has yet to address. McCain is Bush......and he should have learned better after voting with him 30% of the time that he should not have risked the other 60% voting with Bush on policies that do not work.....So if the Democrats have a 13% approval rating it's because the other 87% of republicans sided with Bush, who has a 3% IQ which = 90% McCain that = George Bush. So don't tell me that republicans are really concerned about the well being of this nation. You can't justify spending billions of dollars on a war that you are not going to win.....America is the best country in the world but we're not the savior of the world....then people here are suffering...schools are suffering, people don't have health care but we help them rebuild and they are living in a surplus. Where is the justification...and McCain being a POW should know better.....I appreciate his service but his ideas are just wrong...

As far as Palin, I'm not phased by her. She has enough drama surrounding her that has yet to be dealt with. And yes she does want to tell you if you are a woman and me what to do with our bodies....I don't thik no woman uses abortion as a recreational sport. But I be damned if this woman or anybody for that matter tries to regulate what I can and I cannot do with my body...Like she said and the conservative media are saying pregnancy is a personal and private matter when it comes to her family....so I feel what's good for one ought to be good for another....To show the hypocrisy here, I dare you to ask a republican female if she has had an abortion. The majority of them want admit it, as with most women because it's nobody's business....But my point is this the ones preaching pro-life have had more abortions than the US population itself....Hypocrites.....Jesus asked, "He without sin cast the first stone" and they all began to leave beginning with the elders because their the ones who had more sin in them the younger people..So you need to ask God to forgive you for judging people, for being a sinner, for talking about Obama, who is the better qualified candidate and for being a republican.

The thing that makes this scandalous is that Palin didn't fire the trooper, she fired the HEAD OF THE ALASKAN STATE POLICE for not cowing to her wishes that he go over the head of the police investigative board and fire Wooten.

She had former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan fired for not participating in her vendetta against her former brother-in-law; threatened librarian Mary Ellen Emmons with unemployment for not cooperating with her on the banning of books; married a man who doesn't even want to be an American or want Alaska to be part of the United States, had an affair with her husband's former business partner, Brad Hanson; believed God talked to her and told her that the war in Iraq was his Will. Doesn't sound like a God fearing person at all. More like treating Christianity as a menu at her favorite restaurant. Uses what best serves her 'hungry' needs. Let's see how quickly someone says "no one is perfect". Well wake up, there is a difference between being perfect and being careless with a backup excuse plan. Lies are lies. Abuse is abuse. Why support anti-abortion without first addressing teen pregnancy and the responsibility of parents to prevent this. Can't run the family, then your spending too much time at the office.

      • Posted By: rocude @ 09/10/2008 11:48:58 AM

And what does an imperfect, saved by Grace not by works God fearing Christian sound like? Yes please, go ahead taser my nephew, divorce my sister, that's all good, God loves it when we destroy our marriages and hurt our kids, is that what she should have said? "Let's see how quickly someone says "no one is perfect"." I'll say it, who is perfect? Jesus, the One and Only, certainly not McCain, Palin, Obama, or Biden. Seriously, is this the best you can drum up on her to knock her down, next you'll be dragging her daughter and kids into it, wait, you did that, dang it. "Why support anti-abortion without first addressing teen pregnancy and the responsibility of parents to prevent this." Why support infanticide and partial birth abortion, far cries from your run of the mill abotions. I'll tell you why, because they cross lines that I thought even liberals would call inhumane yet Obama and Biden both support and obviously libs are okay with. "Can't run the family, then your spending too much time at the office." Classy.

Considering neither McCain nor Palin is highly educated, it should come as no surprise that they do not support the field of science. We have all heard of the Dark Ages, "an era of ignorance and social repression, a suspension of time and progress, a period of cultural stagnation." Let us hope that we Democrats prevail this November, for I fear if we do not, America will continue down the dark path that George W. Bush and the Republican Party has laid at our feet.

This election is too important to be sidetracked by all this nonsense. Sarah Palin is not running for President. McCain is. Though you would think she is on the top of the ticket.
We need to quit focusing on the Jerry Springer Show that is Sarah Palin and focus on the real issues--the economy, the wars, education, global warming, skyrocketing energy costs, unemployment, the failing banks, etc., etc.

McCain is part of the party that brought us this nightmare, before this year he was proud to be photographed with George Bush, to be seen as an ally of our current President. So how is McCain going to even begin to get us out of this mess. Why would he want to? His constiuency of lobbyists and rich people are doing just fine--it's the rest of us who are suffering. Do you really want to return to a time like that of the robberbarons--a time when the middle class was practically nonexistent, and working people were basically chattel to be used and abused for their employers' astronomical profit margins.

The Republicans over and over again use these cultural wedge issues to keep working people from voting in their own economic best interest.

They are laughing all the way to the bank. The Republicans were in charge of all three branches of government for six years, and they didn't ban abortion or ban gay marriage or make Christianity our state religion or make English our national language, or reinstate prayer in the schools, etc. They wouldn't have anything to distract the populace with if they actually moved legislatively on these issues. They need poor and middle class people who believe strongly in these cultural issues to continue to support them even though it means that they get poorer and poorer. And don't think they sincerely believe in these cultural issues as well. Look at the way many, if not most, Republican politicians live, look at the scandals that they have been associated with--they want the vote of cultural conservatives, but after the lever has been pulled in the ballot box, those voters can be forgotten until the next election when the Republicans will rile them up again with their favorite wedge issures, and get folks to cut off their noses to spite their faces.

The Bible talks about straining gnats and swallowing camels. It also says that it is harder for a rich man to enter heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. The rich Republicans are giving us plenty of gnats to strain in terms of cultural issues that we can't resolve through legislative means, and meanwhile we just keep swallowing those camels--the economic problems that the Congress and Senate and White House could resolve, so that real wealth could be earned by a multitude of American citizens willing to work hard if given real opportunities. Just think we could help some of those rich Republican (and Democrat) folks get into heaven by reducing their profit margins and taxing the wealthiest among us at a higher, fairer rate.

This election is increasingly being steered away from the issues confronting the American people and into a carnival sideshow of celebrity and lies promoted by the American Taliban of Christian Fundamentalists. I fear we are headed toward a one party theocracy led by the American Taliban that will dictate their values and way of life on the rest of us similar to Iran and Nazi Germany.

I hate to agree, but the kind of "God-told-me delusion" that can emerge in Pentecostal churches, combined with a vindictive, power-motivated personality with little intellectual curiosity being one step from the Presidency is alarming. Especially with the vastly increased power of the Executive under Bush-Cheney to spy, torture, and issue signing statements that legislate.

Palin shares that sense of exceptionalism. But the myth is contradicted by some inconvenient facts. Only 1 percent of the state's land is in private hands, and the economy is dependent on oil and other natural resources controlled by the federal government or Big Oil. As a result, nearly 50 years after statehood, ...

BIG NOTE: Alaska REMAINS DEEPLY DEPENDENT ON FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR SUPPORT. Social ills are RAMPANT. The State's Levels of DRUG ABUSE, ALCOHOLISM, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and CHILD ABUSE OR ABOVE AVERAGE or among the THE HIGHEST IN THE COUNTRY !!!

It seems that citizen Palin and later Govenor Palin took advantage of her powers to hassel and cause more problems for her ex brother-in-law. The judge is correct, her sister should have established some sort of boundaries for their behavior, treatment of her son, etc. I'm not familiar with the incident involving the nephew but perhaps the taser was an issue of a curious youth and a step-dad willing to play along - not that I approve of his behavior but it could have been less of an issue than it is being made. As far as the use of state money for per diem payments, flights/travel for her whole family, payments to her husband for "official government business" and the three official residences, I think Palin is taking advantage of her position. I am not saying money is not alloted for such things, it's just that if she truly is a fiscal conservative she would not use her powers to excess. Just as Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere, and then said she was against it - the money allocated was kept and used for other projects. Hardly a conservative move. Another issue brought up is the military and her son. All states, schools, law inforcement agencies and court systems have programs in place to give troubles students or young people the choice of military service or jail after so many arrests, violations, etc. This is another example of the dysfunctional and non-traditional family that Palin and her husband are giving their own family. The McCain camp going after the media, press and bloggers for going after Palin's family is an outright lie. No one has exploited her family more than she and John McCain - parading the baby, pregnant daughter and then bringing the boyfriend to the convention like he was some hero was and is a disgrace to many families who have worked hard to raise good children, respectful and law abiding children. I think Sarah Palin is a disgrace to all Americans. Her selection was a last minute desperate decision by an old, out of touch, dishonorable and arrogant person. Barack Obama and the whole Democratic group that started out in this campaign season have worked very hard, been put under great scrutiny and should not be lied about and treated with such little respect. John McCain has turned his campaign into a popularity contest with a junior high mentality of jabs and no issues. This is no
"I can out do you", shouting match , beauty contest or laughing matter. There are important issues that need to be addressed and it is obvious that neither John McCain or his veep selection is up to the task.

How about mentioning that Palin's brother in-law was accused of tasering his 10 year old son ! On the other hand, that might just "balance" out this story. Heaven forbid, we have the entire story and not just one reporter's "slant" on the situation. Usually, people show sympathy toward women and children who fight back in abusive relationships. Why not here?

    • Posted By: klebrun @ 09/10/2008 4:18:32 PM

If the taser story was legit, the trooper would still be behind bars. A taser gives a 50,000 volt shot and the burn marks are reported to be visible for up to 3 weeks.

Plenty of evidence if it happened.

And, not very likely that a 10 year-old could be actually tasered without the adults knowing about it.

And if they did know about it and waited 2 years to report it, they have got a serious problem, and it looks like this dysfunctional parenting may become our problem next.

      • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/10/2008 4:46:44 PM

In case you didn't see it on CNN, the trooper admitted to the tazering, the drinking, and shooting the moose illegally. You can go to CNN's website and watch it for yourself if you like.

I know how it plays out in domestic abuse cases. My sister and her two daughters were victims of domestic violence for 15 years. Despite her x-husband's obvious violent behavior, with the help of his sharp attorney, he always came out smelling like roses.

I realize there's always two sides to a story. My point is that I'm tired of these stories being slanted. I have my own questions about Palin, as she's new to all of us. But, let's keep the discussion civil, and broad enough in terms of information, that we can all make an informed decision.

It's really the media that's playing these candidates against each other so fiercely, as well as the voters who have committed to one or the other candidate. I think most people want to have a discussion, not constantly feel the need to "defend" and then "attack".

Last I checked Sarah did not have a baby out of wedlock. It was her daughter. You must not have kids or you would not make a comment like this. You can teach your kids right from wrong but it doesnt mean that they are going to do all the right things in life. Your house has nothing to do with the problem. But since you didnt know I will give a brief overview. It was banks and middle class loan officers seeking the almighty dollar that caused the downturn as well as everyone in America wanting to be an investor to get rich to pay less taxes under the current adminstration LOL . You want to blame someone try blaming the ones who make the laws. Everyone in the housing industry has to be licensed except for the loan officer (except a few states). This artical was about Palin and her abuse of Power. A cop that tazes his kid is an idiot. If your kid wanted you to push him into a fire would you? News Flash !!!!!! cops do lie. Okay I agree with you on parenting. I refute your lesson in microeconomics easily, why, because your example is true in ANY administration so it doesn't prove anything. The difference is the economy. The public first thought things were going great and made decisions based on that and found out too late it wasn't. McCain thought is was fine also but then again he professed that it was not his strongest suit. the difference is the length of the war and cost which is draining the US. This effect our economy on so many levels. The banks are not the cause, they are the effect of a failed administration. This is as funny as the blogger that blamed the Democrats for the last 8 years. What a spin.

I understood the Palin's remark but some hockey moms do not feel as you wife does, do YOU dispute that? Do you agree that she also opened herself to all lipstick remarks as a result of it? It just so happens that McCain and staff started this pig with lipstick comment against Democrats first.

            Some cops lie unrefutable, .

Sarah Palin introduced her son Track to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul as:

            "Our 18-year-old son Track ... "

Palin knew it wasn't true but she didn't want America to learn that her son was born on April 20, 1989, less than eight months after she married Todd Palin on August 29, 1988.

Evangelicals 'sin' (according to the definition of sin) and pray they won't be found out. Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard come to mind.

The Repugs will use Palin and dump her like they did Kat. Harris in Florida after she helped them to win Florida in 2,000,

I dislike Palin greatly for a variety of reasons, but this is not one of them. I do not think that she was right to fire Wooten's boss. However, as a former domestic violence counselor, I understand the Palin family's concerns and complaints. It is not "trashing" his character if it was all true - and if you do your research there were a couple of other witnesses not mentioned in this article. Domestic violence is a huge issue that police regularly deal with, and it is not good to have a police officer who may agree with the abuser in these situations. The fact that Wooten's boss did not believe that his violence had an effect on his work is a valid reason for concern.

I do agree that Palin needs to cooperate with the investigation though. Immediately.

If someone at Newsweek is reading - can you please cite for us ONE example of Palin "disparaging" Wooten or anyone else for that matter? Just one?

    <Sound of crickets chirping>

    • Posted By: SavethisCountry @ 09/10/2008 1:56:36 PM

Does the sound of chrickets relate to where you live? Newsweek reports on what they find, other news sources will confirm or not. Just be open minded when what you feel is rumor, is actually facts which then get put on the spin wagon. Bridge to nowwhere, ebay jet sale , , ,

      • Posted By: voxitar @ 09/10/2008 2:10:44 PM

palin canceled the bridge to nowhere after she realized how much it would cost, just as she said, and she put the jet on ebay, just as she said....what i'm more concerned about are the voluminous outrageous lies and smears, like this newsweek story, suggesting that somehow Palin must've "disparaged" wooten when they cite NO EVIDENCE. Not a shred. Not a scintilla. NADA.

        • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/11/2008 1:15:23 AM

McCain said Palin sold the plane on eBay for a profit. That's a lie..

Palin said, "I told them thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere, if we wanted a bridge we'd build it ourselves." That was a lie.

Palin kept the money and built a road to nowhere.

Palin doesn't care about telling 'the whole truth and nothing but the truth. She is a liar.

Wow! Are you guys and gals running that scared? I knew she had blown up the liberal agenda, but I guess it take a few days to see clearly the extent of damage from her first bomb drop.
Wait ladies and gentlemen for the debates will arrive soon and the speeches will be invisible. Wait untill she is unleashed from the Republican campaign managers and she can fire her weapons at will.
She is JUST BEING HERSELF. Yes, you had better gain control of that liberal condescension . You're about to witness a flash/avalanche.
