McCain ??? Palin and The Oil Industry
In 2006 , Bp Alaska, Exxon Mobile, Chevron and Conoco Phillips gave over 1.7 Million dollars to AK First Org. Inc. and to Alaska Oil and Gas Association to repeal Measure 2 of the Alaska Constitution. They succeeded with the help of Palin. By spreading the wealth their 1.7 Million dollar Investment created a windfall of profits only rivaled by Mr. Buffet himself.

With Palin???s help and under the watchful eye of the Bush. Cheney and Mc Cain administration the Oil Emirates will also receive credits against future taxation worth even more billions of dollars. It appears that Palin and the Bush administration are paying the oil companies back all the taxes they have paid since the inception of Measure 2.

What do we know about Palin? Not much according to the Media. We do know Governor Palin is the Public Member for the Alaska Oil and Natural Gas Conservation Commission. What you should know is that the mission of Alaska Oil and Natural Gas Conservation Commission is to work hand in hand with the oil industry to help maximize production, improve resource recovery and to reduce the rights of land owners through its correlative rights mandate. They are task with overseeing the disposal of all toxic waste produced by companies such as Alaska Oil, Chevron, Exxon and BP Alaska.

According to the ??? Inlet Keeper??? these companies are ???legally??? pumping 2 Billion Gallons of toxic waste into the fisheries of Cook Inlet annually. Governor Pain is one of three controlling members of this group comprised of One Geologist, One Petroleum Engineer and one public member, ie Palin.

Wow! its no wonder they picked her for VP. The media chooses to ignore or not care about these facts. Just as with the mis-information they brought us with Iraq they have again been bought and paid for by special interest. Yes afraid of going against the powerful political machine of the Bush administrative and detrimental to the public of the United States and rest of the world; our news media is again not reporting the facts! Surprised; no I???m not but you should be!

The oil companies are once again putting their own candidate into office. They are selling us a Miss America candidate with her cute little smile in a business suit. A candidate who is in charge of and has been responsible for saving oil companies billions by letting them pump two billion gallons of toxic waste into the Cook Inlet and Ice Fields of Alaska annually . You wonder why the Ice is melting maybe it???s the Billions of Gallons of toxic waste compliments of our own greed and unwillingness to reduce our dependence on oil!

Vote for Real Change vote against the Emirates of Alaska and their Palin Pawn, the Mavericks and Cowboys of Arizona, Texas and beyond!

Vote Obama! Make history Make a Difference!

John McCain picked Governor Sarah Palin because he intends to follow through and make his Project Lexington for United States energy independence the dominant issue in this campaign. Governor Sarah Palin is a strong supporter of increased offshore drilling and she knows that Alaska has an offshore coastline greater than the rest of the country combined and is also comes in second among the states in oil production. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and John McCain understand that Obama and the Democrats would never consider government loan guarantees or tax breaks for a sure thing that will produce energy for the American gas tank. In fact Democrats are trying to put together a so-called windfall profits tax which will have the effect of discouraging future investment in the United States oil industry. John McCain also knows that Governor Sarah Palin family situation also illustrates that longterm Democratic leadership hostility and policies toward United States owned energy companies have caused our current energy crisis. Her husband works for British Petroleum but instead should be working for the former American owned Arco Oil Company. Arco Oil Company developed and explored the Alaska North Slope and formerly owned eighty percent of our proven Alaskan reserves. With its substantial oil reserves Arco Oil Company should have bought British Petroleum instead of British Petroleum buying out Arco Oil Company during the second Bill Clinton administration. With the right business environment and support from both political parties in the United States, Arco Oil Company might have been more successful and been able to buy out British Petroleum instead of British Petroleum buying out Arco Oil Company. Look at Apple Computer and Microsoft. Their success in the computer world have made them bullet proof to corporate takeovers. Longterm Democratic hostility and opposition to offshore drilling and periodic talk of windfall profits taxes contributed to the takeover of Arco Oil Company.

You are aware, are you not, that Gov. Palin imposed a WINDFALL PROFITS TAX on every barrel of oil leaving Alaska this year. That's on top of the four other state taxes on oil. Alaska gets its share for Alaskans -- every man, woman and child got $3200 from oil taxes this year -- and the heck with the rest of the country. Check Palin's record before you sing her praises.

When even Karl Rove tells you that you're running a dishonest campaign, it's time to check to see how long your nose has grown. McCain will end his career with the ignominious notation that he ran one of the most deceptive and cynical campaigns in modern American history.

I just don't understand. John McCain was in the enemy's hands for five and one-half years. He acknowledged that they broke him, just how much we don't know. The enemy was, at the time, Vietnam, North Korea, China, Romania, Bulgaria, East Germany and the Soviet Union, plus a multitude of smaller communist countries. Mr. McCain was in their hands and was tortured by them, not for information you understand. Did they make him a MOLE? The CIA was researching and experimenting with "brain-washing" techniques at the time, so was the ENEMY, all of them. The Russians, Cubans and the Chinese routinely assisted the North Vietnamese in "questioning" the POWs that were in their hands. They used drugs in their interrogations. I have known many X-POWs from Vietnam and I even had one as a business partner for over five years that spent 7 1/2 years as a POW. I heard the stories about "quiz time" from him, read that as "torture time". They weren't tortured for information, it is well known that any information was worthless 24 hours after their capture. They were tortured for "other" reasons. We (military personnel) were all trained for what to do after being taken prisoner. McCain has his choice to come home, but he had Stockholm syndrome and chose to stay and be tortured some more. One thing I noticed, all of the X-POWs that I knew were obsessed with the fact of their imprisonment. Stories were repeated daily. Some feel "special" like McCain, some don't. All X-POWs were affected with PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Like most Vietnam Vets, PTSD and other emotional difficulties were hidden or not discussed at discharge and most never got treated for their disability. Can anyone tell me that McCain was unaffected? We all know he was affected. A temper is a good indicator, so I have been told by doctors at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Richmond. Believe me, I thank Mr. McCain for his service. But we shouldn't trust him just because of his obsession with being president, it might be some kind of order his torturers made during his torture sessions. A sort of Hanoi Candidate. Has anyone else thought of this? I am a registered republican in case anyone is wondering.

Democratic leadership under Barack Obama wanted to cut and run in Iraq today and just before our successful surge, just as Democratic leadership wanted to cut and run in Vietnam before our 650 POWs came home in 1973. John McCain realizes he would not be here today if the Democratic leadership had their way back in 1972. Because he spent early school years in Indonesia, Barack Obama may not be the Democratic Presidential candidate today but for our efforts in Vietnam in 1972. Richard Nixon a former Navy officer who served before John McCain years in the Navy understood that North Vietnam never returned any of the captured French POWs after their defeat at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. Only the week long bombings of Hanoi including Christmas day in 1972 with our B52 bombers finally convinced North Vietnam that we wanted our 650 POWs back now. The bombings also convinced the South Vietnamese that we would support them in the future under the Paris Peace Talks agreement. Although the United States lost in Vietnam are efforts there gave other countries time to develop their fragile democracies. Indonesia today is a democratic country today that is friendly to the United States and has a population of nearly two hundred million people, the fourth largest in the world. Barack Obama spent his early childhood in Indonesia attending school with his mother and step-father during the time of the Vietnam War. It has been reported that the former President of Indonesia stated that our efforts in Vietnam even though we lost, allowed Indonesia to fight off communism and develop as a democratic country. Our efforts in Vietnam bought Indonesia time. Barack Obama could have been caught up in a communist insurrection in Indonesia during his early childhood if the United States had cut and run and had not tried to slow or stop a rapid North Vietnam takeover of South Vietnam. All of Southeast Asia including Indonesia could have rapidly gone Communist if the United States did not at least make a stand to resist the rapid expansion of communism and stand by our ally South Vietnam. Ironicallly both John McCain and Barack Obama would not be the men they are today and John McCain would not be here if we had followed Democratic leadership to cut and run in Vietnam before our POWs were returned.

McCain says Palin "took on big oil" but lets look at what that actually means. Alaska taxes every barrel of oil that leaves Alaska at about 75% of value. From this revenue, Alaska returns $2000 to every man, woman and child in the state. This year, Paln added a $1200 payment to all Alaskans to use the extra money generated by the rising price of oil. In other words, Palin has grown her popularity in Alaska while sticking it to people in the Lower 48. We pay the higher oil prices and Alaska reaps the benefits. What a great American! Palin's belief that Americans in the Lower 48 are suckers ready for the plucking is also demonstrated in her requests for Congressional earmarks -- the highest per capita in the nation. Alaska sends about $5,500 per person to Washington in taxes, but it TAKES from Washington in federal spending about $14,000 per person. Alaskans pay a little but get a lot from their taxes --- and the rest of the country pays for it. McCain says that Palin used her "veto pen" and technically that's true. She cut about $500 million from the state budget. That is less than 2% of the total budget -- not a very sharp pen, Palin also made a tidy sum for the state by imposing a windfall profits tax (you know, that thing that Obama keeps pushing, but McCain says will ruin the economy) on oil companies. Palin thinks Alaskans are so much better than the rest of the country that it's just right and proper that those of us who don't shoot caribou or eat mooseburgers or race snowmobiles should just naturally pay to support the fine, upstanding, rightous, clean-living people who do. And there's nothing to indicat that her allegience to Alaska would stop at the White House door. Has there ever been a time when campaign rhetoric and the facts have ever been more at odds?

I have an email sent from Democratic Super Delegate Rachel Binah last week. She was one of five who put Obama over the top. IN the email, Binah lists 100 books that Palin banned as mayor.

Plain never baned any books. So Fact Check is absolutely wrong these are not coming from Obama ccampaig

    • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 09/13/2008 3:43:47 AM

Only if you know that Rachel Binah has a role in the Obama campaign. I'm sure that the hundreds of super delegates who supported him are not ALL part of the campaign. Also I'd be interested to know where the list came from -- was it from someone in Wasilla, for instance? Did Ms Binah have some reason to believe that it was legit?

"less than honest"????? You need to say it like it is: the McCain campaign is lying. Lying. Lying.

  • Posted By: george savage @ 09/11/2008 5:12:09 PM

Dem SuperDelegate Rachel Binah sent out an email with a list of over 100 banned Palin books.

Palin never banned books. Clearly Obama's campaign is indeed responsible for these smears against Palin.

    • Posted By: freelybe @ 09/11/2008 7:52:47 PM

How is it clear that the campaign is responsible? I don't think your research skills stack up to FactCheck's. Try again.

Thank you for your interest in clearing this up. It's a pain-staking process, but appreciated by many. Pretty revealing that Rove's new employer, the Wall Street Journal, wasn't equally as interested.

  • Posted By: george savage @ 09/11/2008 5:15:01 PM

Fact Check is wrong. Obama's campaign is sending out email through SuperDelegate Rachel Binah of California which accused Palin FALSELY of banning books and gave a list of 100 books in an email I have.

I see the hand of the Police Union as a powerful tool of Obama's strongest supporter the Union Bosses of America. What if the trooper taserred somebody? The Union has no convern and even a Governor has no power to investigate a police man union member..

What really disappoints me is that I thought the American people were smarter than this. How foolish it is to believe nonsense like this; and why aren't we, the American people, demanding the media to report the truth and not their spin on the truth? Why aren't we investigating things for ourselves? Have we become this complacent; that if you tell me the sky is orange that I'm going to believe it when I know it's blue? Somebody please help me understand this irrational way of thinking?

  • Posted By: Elflin @ 09/11/2008 2:28:39 PM

Agreed neophyte. Why is he still polling so highly? Why is this not getting out to the public, or is it that the public doesn't care if their government is based on lies and mistruths? In a real world, these two couldn't get elected county dog catchers.

  • Posted By: martin_gray @ 09/11/2008 1:26:38 PM

There are no surprises here. The lies and distortions by the McCain campaign have been the framework for all Republican political tactics for over a decade. Pity the fool who did not anticipate the distortions that we all knew would come from the McCain campaign.

I cannot believe that this is in the best interests of America. I further cannot believe that the American body politic is so naive and so twisted that they actually give some measure of belief to anything coming from John McCain no matter how seemingly small or insignificant.

  • Posted By: neophyte @ 09/11/2008 12:46:49 PM

When are we going to just say what is really going on: McCain is a liar. His campaign is based on lies. He will twist and distort anything to get elected. Every time something is fact-checked his statements come back untrue and all the media can do is re-run the lies while they line up one of his supporters to repeat the lies under the guise of "fairness". Why do lies entitle someone to equal time? Quit using wimpy words like "distort" or "unfounded" these are flat out intentional lies, made with the purpose of deceiving the world.

  • Posted By: mev47 @ 09/11/2008 12:19:47 PM

Yes, McCain made a decision that revealed many appalling things about him. In the end, his final concern is not national security. No one who cares about national security would pick as vice-president someone who knows nothing about it as his replacement. No one who cares about this country's safety would gamble the security of the world on a total unknown because she polled well with the Christianist base. No person who truly believed that the surge was integral to this country's national security would pick as his veep candidate a woman who, so far as we can tell anything, opposed it at the time.

McCain has demonstrated in the last two months that he does not have the character to be president of the United States. And that is why it is more important than ever to ensure that Barack Obama is the next president. The alternative is now unthinkable. And McCain - no one else - has proved it.

God these republicans must be stupid.

IF MCCAIN WILL LIE NOW HE WILL DO IT LATER.

This is what republicans want in the President of the United States?

you must be a student of history to appreciate the gravity of the situation we (the World) are now facing. mccain and palin represent the most dangerous threat to the US, and the world outside of the USA. him for being an angry war monger with an imagined score to settle, and a mindless war to "win" and her for being a selfserving, liar! when you look at all the idiots who made their mark in history, these two are over the top!! Its scary to think of the damage they could cause to the united states....if you can even imagine that... and the World.
