Obama voted for requiring kindergarten teachers to tell the kids clinical definition of making babies. First - why is this a law? Why are we spending government money on this? And at that age I think the parents should have more rights. Obama also has no idea where the $ comes from for his education programs. Its from the same families trying to send their kids to college. Obama - No Future, No Way, Not Now

I see you've been to Mr. Magoo's school of story telling. Repeat a lie enough and maybe people will believe it. Obama NEVER "required" kindergarteners to be taught about making babies. It was optional information about inappropriate touching to protect him from child molesters. OPTIONAL - meaning parents could opt out of it.
And since your brought it up teaching the clinical definition of "making babies," maybe that's some information one of Palin's kids should have gotten, huh?

I think we should stop relying on TV ads for our source of information and look up these bills and find out for ourselveds what is or is not true. The media is only doing what they are suppose to do. We the people fall for it all the time. Their job is to create panic and fear that's it. When we finally wake up and realize that the better off we will be. Knowledge is power!!! Everyone has their opinions and everyone has their beliefs, that is whats makes this country so great! Life is to short

This morning's NYT had an article trying to debunk claims in the Kindergarten Sex Ad. "While potentially more damaging than most political ads, does it distort or tell half-truths more than any other negative political ads? All opposition ads are negative, intended to put the other side in a bad light. Do any tell the whole story? From the review in your article, the charges and claims are perfectly legitimate as a political ad in so far as these ads never tell the whole truth. You cite Barack's convenient recall of the discussion, spirit and noble intent of the committee's proposal, but while all this may be reflected in the proposal, is the noble intent to protect Kindergarten kids from predators specific in the language of the proposal itself, or just expected as a consequence? The Ad passes the politics stink test. If you can't stand the heat . . . .

Just because Obama puts lipstick on his pig of a sex ed plan, still makes it a pig.

So what? Do you have a problem.

  • Posted By: fenewsweek @ 09/11/2008 8:50:41 AM

I honestly believe, to justify NOT voting for the most qualified person for the job, many people are going to put thier heads in the sand and make bellieve that the negative, ugly, dishonest ads are true. This, so they can confirms thier own fears and bogotry. A very good percentage of AMERICANS have outgrown this ugly phase in our lives, but there remains much work. Tina in Tempe.

Never agaiin should a President you want to have a beer with be allowed to lie the American public into a False & Phony war and ignore the real war as George W. Bush was able too! National Security strength, I don't think so, after all 911 happened on the Republicans' watch, but they distorted that message too and you would think that Democrats are weak on national security! Politicans who lie to the public are engaged in a betrayal of the public trust and such distortion should be deemed unethical and in some cases, criminal!

And, it is an outrage or should be that the government can give millions of dollars to CEO???s from the failed Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and yet, cannot give a second stimulus check to American citizens in these hard economic times?

Republicans say No to a second stimulus while the Democrats say Yes to a second stimulus!

Is the Republican Congress working for CEO???s or are they working for you, the people?

John McCain has gone to the dark side with the education ad. It screams "Karl Rove is involved with this campaign now".

  • Posted By: Pat from Hendersonville @ 09/11/2008 1:16:13 AM

Anything designed to protect children should not be a political football! There are sufficient issues to address without playing silly school yard games...to me, if McCain can't defend the GOP and Bush's performance on the issues facing our country, then he certainly doesn't need to lead the country. It almost seems that Karl Rove is once again running the country...into the ground.

Obama is a pig! With or without lipstick. I just read SB99 and see that NEWSWEEK also suffers from poor journalism. The thought of supporting a bill that allows little ones to be subject to sex education is appalling and wrong.

    • Posted By: labman57 @ 09/10/2008 11:31:12 PM

Another example of a GOP blowhard that never lets the documented facts cloud their opinions.

    • Posted By: Jaylike Birds @ 09/10/2008 10:00:36 PM

It's hard to believe, but here we have an article that refutes, with actual facts, the notion that Obama wants to teach 5-year-olds to use condoms or whatever. Then in the comments section, "blegj" nonetheless makes the same assertion, as if he/she hadn't read any of the actual words in the article. ?! It's right there, you're responding to proof and record with ignorant assertion! Go Back And Read The Article. Crikey.

My main concern is that all of the Daryl and Daryls out there don't spend 5 minutes per day reading about the facts and instead are sucked into the lifestory of the moose-hunting mom and her telepromter-driven, one-trick dog and pony show and McCain's "straight-sleeze express".
McCain is just an older, slightly more senile version of "W", and Palin is Dick Cheney in a skirt and carrying a bible.

This is part of a broader manipulation. See Olbermann's special comment on 9/11TM tonight: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/#26649407

McCain and Palin are full of smoke and mirrors.

Watch this clip. The guy happens to be absolutely right. It takes one celebrity to know another.

It's scary that America is even considering electing the McCain-Palin team when there's a greater than one third chance John dies and leaves us with the unvetted, inexperienced, creationist President Palin.

It's the media's job to dispel the lies from the Rove, er McCain anti-truth squad. They simply need to ask the gullible public if they really think a normal person would approve sex ed for kindergartners. Anyone stupid enough to believe that deserves to have Bush McCain continuum.

    To junkmail7:

    GARBAGEMAIL IS MOORE LIKE IT.

YOU ARE A STINKING LIER. AND OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE A MCCAIN SUPPORTER.

OBAMA NEVER STATED ANY SUCH THING.

HOW CAN YOU FABRICATE SUCH LIES JUST TO SUPPORT YOUR CANDIDATE?

  • Posted By: itsjustmyopinion @ 09/10/2008 10:04:35 PM

Perhaps you could keep a little running total of how many ads by each candidate are accurate in the facts they present. Perhaps there is a pattern here?

have your readers done there research on McCain? His first wife was a beauty Queen/ model until she got fat. Then McCain dumped her. Cindy who was a beauty Queen, now has aged, she told to go to the back of the line. she is being moved over for Palin the younger model of the beauty queen. Also, what experience do Palin have for African, Asian & Hispanic American when she has always lived with a 98% white population? So how will see fair when the United States of America send her to deal with foreign affairs where the majority of them will be of a different race background? Wake up America!!

  • Posted By: LoveMyCountry08 @ 09/10/2008 8:31:58 PM

McCain campaign should be ashamed of themselves. The party of "issues", the party that "Puts America First."? How about the party that so utterly pathetic that they have to waste 2 days slinging mud about non-issues? I'm fed up and you should be too!

  • Posted By: LoveMyCountry08 @ 09/10/2008 8:28:51 PM

I find myself, yet again, completely and utterly dismayed at the McCain campaign and, more important, at his supporters. For 2 days now the McCain camp has tried to stir the pot with senseless, meaningless non-issues and what do you know, the minnions have followed. They're the party that puts America First? They're the party that's about issues? If Obama doesn't take this opportunity to rip into them and expose them for what they really are (scared, pandering, souless fools) maybe he doesn't deserve to be in the White House. McCain's camp and all that rallied around the crap of the past 2 days should be ashamed of themselves.
