This is propaganda and scare tactics. You make it sound like everyone will have to take a driver's test, when the reality is that the DMV provides photo ID's to many people for identification purposes. How do all these people cash checks without an ID? Mr. Alter, you would have done well as a propaganda minister for Hitler. One of the recommendations of the 9/11 commission was a national photo ID. Perhaps all those community organizers can provide rides to all those people who need to get one.

Just how in the hell does ANYBODY exist in society without a picture ID? You can't get a job, buy liquor, apply for food stamps, etc without an ID. It is NOT a hardship to ask adults once in their lives to get on that bus and schlep down to the MVD and get a damn ID. This is just idiocy!

I think Drivers Card or Driviers ID card is an excellent idea. I know these types of writers write such things as it takes about 10 minutes of time to write these types of stories. I've voted for years and always get asked to prove who I am. should I feel this is anti-woman? since I am a female.Absolutely not. IN the interim, this is not a racist thing towards blacks. WHO WAS SAUL ALINSKY and WHAT WAS HIS METHOD OF ORGANIZING?
Saul Alinsky had moved to this country from Russia and he was working as a CRIMINOLOGIST for awhile, but came in contact with Frank Nitty, also Al Capone, and he learned from them the METHODS THAT ORGANIZED CRIME used in Chicago. He learned many of the methods that were used by those that used to ORGANIZE UNIONS, and he devised HIS OWN METHOD incorporating their methods.

He then wrote a book about his method which was called RULES FOR RADICALS; and he actually DEDICATED this book to ???Lucifer???, the first radical.

Dear Mr. Alter,

Please do us all a favor. Go to a third-world country like Mexico (where I grew up) and see all of the efforts they put in preventing/avoiding voter fraud. Go to Irak to see how they do elections and voting these days. In a way, the situation here in the U.S. is laughable, it is so easy to commit voter fraud, just because we don't want to offend bumps or ignorant people that shouldn't be voting in the first place. We are supposed to be the super-power of the world, and yet we can't ask our own citizens to be responsible, put just a tinny effort, and provide sufficient identification to vote. If poor people don't want to put any effort prior to voting, then I really don't want them to vote anyways. Please. Don't treat people like children. Going forward, I say: require all citizens to obtain a special voter identification card, AND put ink on their thumbs when they vote, to prevent double, tripple, quadruple, or n-tuple voting.
