Mr. Alter, what is your mission? What is your goal? I presume you must be liberal and a democrat. Are you homosexual? That question alone is gender neutral, just a factual question because the Democratic party actively support homosexuals, right? So, while you will call me a bigot, I can say the same for you, right?

The title of this article itself is so inflammatory, so again, what is YOUR goal? Attention? Notoriety? Your are like a high schooler, not a man. You and those like you just want to shut down conservatives, right? So this is a commentary; a very 4th grade commentary. Give me my own *** page, ***! You stench of black journalism, no longer yellow, not even red (i.e. communist) but you are a contributor to the implosion of this country. HATE is written all through your article. Um, tell me Mr. Alter, when will you review Democratic scams to redistrict areas to rig their own elections? What's that? Never heard of that? How can that be? Oh, I see. Selective hearing.

And what does that make you...?

Every bit of an American as you are if not more. When you wrap yourself in the flag to attack your adversary, you reach for the lowest hanging fruit. You are a weak and a small man.

          • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 09/12/2008 10:41:45 PM

See you are a great example.....of what is wrong with the community organizing crowd. Wrapping in the flag, is a great way to attack an adversary. Very similar to the Children of Israel carrying the Ark into battle. It provides protection and blessing.

The article and JonJon are blatantly anti-American. ACORN and their spawn, are known, charged, and convicted participants in voter FRAUD..(Barry is just soooo comfortable with that). Anyone who can't get an accepted voter I.D. card, needs only call or write any of many organizations, that would be more than happy to assist.

Hussein LOVES fraudulent voting....elections and CAUCUSES. It is gonna stop. The game is over. The jig is up. Prison time is staring them in the face...just looking for a reason. I for one hope ya'll keep it up.

            NOBAMA!!!

I see you don't like Jews (reference Ark of the Covenant)
or Muslims. Why else would you and your ilk keep bringing up Obama's middle name? Or do you just want to keep us all afraid so we will vote for someone who wants to keep our troops in Iraq?

    (continued from above)

Even the Republican bloggers here have been persistent and belligerent in offering meaningless and deceptive garbage trying to distract and persuade without any accountability for pertinence or truth. One arrogantly and adamantly, as if an authority, even presented a super long list of philosophies as to why the Republicans offer better economics, neglecting to admit everything he offered was slanted, unproven and full of errors. He was angry and aggressively challenging, looking for a fight but didn???t identify that he was so emotional because he was in the top income category and upset when thinking Obama may increase his taxes. He erroneously said small business would be hurt but Obama actually has promised to reduce their taxes along with large corporations who create jobs here (Obama has said 95% will receive a tax decrease and only those individuals earning over $250k and corporations exporting jobs and using loopholes to escape paying fair taxes would get increases). The blogger also offered that tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs and stimulate the economy, when common sense tells you different. The wealthy who already spend whatever they want don???t spend more because they get tax cuts; the poor and middle class do and get the money right back into the economy, stimulating it and even producing profits for companies and the wealthy. The trickle-down theory is a fraud as what we really have is a bubble-up economy. Tax cuts for the wealthy only make the wealthy wealthier and stimulate contributions for political campaigns. Point by point answers could be provided but I really don???t want to go back and forth as neither of us will ever change our mind. The final proof, offered as my last on this and anything else, is that the last eight years should convince anyone that there is a lot wrong with the Republican philosophies (check jobs as an example) and then history clearly tells us that the best economic periods have always been under a Democratic government. Hard to factually or truthfully argue with that and again that is my real point. How can anyone put any faith in or vote for those that practice gross dishonesty?

    • Posted By: _mytwocents @ 09/14/2008 3:02:41 PM

Right on, NewsWkDickG! Even Alan Greenspan has now said that the McCain tax cuts will be bad for the economy. And Factcheck.org has denounced the McCain TV ads (which tried to use Factcheck.org in the commercials) as being false, in part on some points and in whole on others.

You can promote Nobama all you want and we are still not going to vote for a man who name is Obama HESSEIN.
Have you studied history and remember the TROJAN HORSE? I also am smart enough to know that two years ago democrats took over in Washington and nothing has gotten done since then and things have gotten worse. Stop trying to blame it on the Bush administration! Nobama was WRONG when he voted against the surge in Iraq, he was WRONG when he chose not to make Hilliary his running mate. CAN WE AFFORD TO TAKE A CHANCE WHEN HE MIGHT BE WRONG AGAIN? No thanks NOBAMA. So quit shoving NOBAMA down our throats.

You keep saying the Democrats are in control of congress, when you know very well that 51-49 is not enough to override a Bush veto or prevent a Republican philibuster. The Democrats do not have control of congress....yet.

    • Posted By: sheikwil @ 09/13/2008 6:57:10 PM

I love it when you idiots use Obama's middle name like it's something offensive. If you look it up STUPID, you will see that his middle name means BEAUTIFUL. WHAT a bunch of stupid a$$wipes you are. You won't be able to steal the election this time, God is watching and it will backfire and they will pay in the end.

      • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/14/2008 2:13:42 AM

In case you didn't read the above article, its the Dems intent on stealing the election this time by removing any and all safeguards to prevent illegal aliens from voting, and people voting multiple times. What hypocrites. The day we stop requiring voters to identify themselves is the day I reject the system.

I live in Indiana and not only do Republicans want to keep blacks from voting, they are racist. My wife helped an elderly white woman try to get the state ID card which is issued if you don't have a driver's license. It requires birth certificate, expensive, and utility bills to prove where you live. So drive all over several counties to get the information and spend a lot of money and you're ready to vote. Let the supreme court justices come to Indiana, where no public transportation exists and try to get a voter ID.

I don't know that the Roberts court is going to be helpful to people of color in protecttig their voting rights. I think there are going to be struggles. Racism is alive and well. It's just learned to be more polite.

  • Posted By: wstaley @ 09/14/2008 10:54:20 AM

how can this guy make a living writing this trash. I think it is unreasonable to expect people to provide ID when they vote....they have to provide ID when they write a $5 check at 7-11 and the reason poor blacks had transportation problems during a hurricane ....is there was water everywhere....du .......du plus the fact that they didn't have cars that float, not driver's licenses.

    • Posted By: docallen001 @ 09/14/2008 1:42:33 PM

Guess you did not see during the primaries that in Indiana, several elderly Catholic nuns could not vote because they could not provide adequate identification because they had never had driver's licenses. My son had to get a new driver's license in North Carolina and it meant getting a birth certificate (something he did not have and getting the license took months. This effort on the part of the Repubs is to win close elections at all costs - it has nothing to do with stopping fraud.

    • Posted By: sefarves @ 09/14/2008 11:08:42 AM

  • Posted By: wstaley @ 09/14/2008 1:38:01 PM

Let me see... you have to produce ID to write a $5 check at 7/11 but we shouldn't have proof of ID to vote and poor black people in Katrina were stranded without transportation because they didn't have drivers licenses not because they didn't own an automobile or at least one that would float. The guy that wrote this should be embarrassed or in the absence of that fired.

Nixon's states rights campaign, Reagan announcing his campaign in Philadelphia, MS, Reagan's welfare queen, George HW Bush's Willie Horton ad, Jesse Helms' "white hands" ad, the RNC's "call me" ad against Harold Ford, Catherine Harris' purging of law abiding citizens from Florida voting rolls and now this. Is there any wonder that the number of black people at the republican convention wouldn't fill a phone booth? The hatred and disenfranchisement of America's black citizens is an unwritten, but essential component of the republican platform. For all their evangelical piety, a special room in hell awaits them.

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/14/2008 2:11:33 AM

There weren't many blacks at the GOP convention because there aren't many black conservatives. The message of eternal victimhood sells better with the black community than the "work hard" and pull yourself up message of the GOP.

      • Posted By: sefarves @ 09/14/2008 11:28:10 AM

The comment posted which says " There weren't many blacks at the GOP convention because there aren't many black conservatives. The message of eternal victimhood sells better with the black community...." is not true. Well over 90% of African American can think and will work - no one believes in being constant life victim. What African's want is fairness, true freedom, and equity in the American dream.

As an African male - I have personally witnessed voter suppression, from conveniently acted street closing, lost voting registration sheets, tests, phony drug busts, early poll closing, etc. I have seen it all, but the sad part is that most whites do not truly understand the anguish we face when it comes to fairness and integrity. We give our all for this country only to be consistently denied in all forms of the American life. It may be true that most Whites are not prejudice, but to act caviler about the problem is in itself a form of unintentional discrimination. What if it were you? What if it happened to you over and over again. How would you feel and how would you deal with it. We have to ask ourselves ??? are we a Christian nation, and do we honestly stand for real American principals. Also, how does the world see us? Do they see us as truly democratic for all citizens or no different from Iran, China, North Korea or Russia?

I've been saying for months that the GOP has for years taken a very Machiavellian approach to all areas of politics. McCain and Palin claim to be candidates of change, but actions speak louder than words. From the beginning, it has been business as usual. They are all about morality, but care nothing about ethics.

Gutter politics is SOP for the GOP.

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 09/13/2008 6:35:51 PM

put the same standards on Obama. Nothing more than a windbag spouting the same ol same ol.... Yet you praise him for it. You don't care about ethics or right and wrong, or even about what is best for the country. You obviously are more obsessed about party politics and winning than you are about any issue. You only bring up issues as a one sided arguement to further your cause - not to be honest

      • Posted By: gg67 @ 09/14/2008 10:46:20 AM

It's embarrassing as a country to have such division amongst us especially for such reasons as race, gender, and class to name a few. Everyone talks about God, there is only one God as I believe there is only one country. If we don't come together as a country and address the issues that concern our country without all the anger because of the elements mentioned above, we could make a more informed decisions regarding the issues that affect our daily lives. What a mess we have created thus far.

  • Posted By: MDDave @ 09/13/2008 10:13:50 PM

Mr. Chiwille, the Democrats were the party of segregation. Johnson never would have passed the Voting Rights Act without the Republicans. Both parties have a checkered past, but the truth is we need some system to ensure the integrity of the process.

    • Posted By: chiwillie @ 09/13/2008 10:53:54 PM

You don't have to take my word for it. Both Lee Atwater and Ken Mehlman confirmed it. Mehlman even apologized for it. The problem is that the behavior doesn't change. Republicans are targeting African-Americans specifically for exclusion from the ballot box.

There is no question that the racists were in the democratic party until 1964. It is also true that 80% of republicans voted in favor of civil rights legislation compared to about 64% of democrats. The civil rights movement changed both the republican and democratic parties. Kennedy and Johnson used the power of the federal government to enforce the constitution in places where whites decided that it did not apply to blacks. Some stayed democrats and bit their lip (Byrd, Gore senior). Some bolted the party for a place where their racist views would be more welcome (Helms, Thurmond and Lott). Since the 60s, republicans have consistently presented African Americans as a group to be despised. This is just more of the same.

Whats sad is that republicans have to go back 44 years to find a time when they were fair and not hostile to African Americans. Abe Lincoln is going to meet this bunch of mendacious hypocrites at the pearly gates to personally usher them to the express elevator to hell.

      • Posted By: MDDave @ 09/14/2008 8:11:20 AM

I think identity politics of any kind are a sad reality in any form. Honestly, it is the Dems that use identity politics, as well as the class warfare stuff. I think you're believing a modern myth concerning Republicans. There are racists in small percentages across American society, but most Repubs, like most Dems, are against it in principle - the history of the Republicans being against it is a much longer history. Drop the modern mythology man. All Mehlman and others really did was try to increase turn out in areas where they have the advantage (traditionalists, etc) which is what the Dems do every year with street money, etc. I do think - in fairness, Nixon's crowd was a bit guilty in how they thought out the Southern Strategy, but that has passed. The problem with Dems today - and why so many do note vote for them, is the fact that they are identified with non-traditional secular radicals and have an unhealthy love affair with Euro-socialists. Studies show issues of traditional morality as the reasons most rural and ex-urban voters vote the way they do. My African American friends - some of which are more conservative then me, will (most of them) vote democratic because 1) they believe the anti-republican mythology, and 2) they have be programmed and socialized to do so. That explains the 88-90% democratic tilt of that demographic. It's a shame.

Good point, but Mccain is not honest. And his ideas will not help the poor or middle class, see what Alan Greenspan said of his tax cuts. See also how he was involved in the whole Keating mess of the 80's while poor single black and white women were being villified for needing help but he helped do the villifiing and helped wealthy white men get the help. I am from the deep south, white and also earn less than 60000 a year and Obama may be full of crap but at least it won't be the same crap and at least I won't vote for a party that has proven time and again that they only care for power and those with money. As for the liberal media, maybe I have drank too much the last 8 years but Bush has gotten an almost free ride given his record. The only ones legitimate badmouthing him are the ones who worked for him. By the way I was shocked to read in a biography of Martin Luther King jr. that he encountered more hostile racism trying to integrate the suburbs around Chicago than he ever did in the south. Maybe its just northern media and not liberal media.

  • Posted By: Payne23 @ 09/14/2008 3:05:12 AM

Oh and if you take out Nader Democrats won a plurality of votes in the last 4 elections but thats just more useless fact.

  • Posted By: Payne23 @ 09/14/2008 2:53:26 AM

Some form of ID is logical if not absolutely essential. Yet to require very nearly the same as every totalitarian regime that ever existed;Russia, Nazi Germany, most Soth Soth American regimes we supported, seems just a tad bit disingenious coming from republicans. Now if you have ever been poor and down on your luck, struggling to figure out how your going to eat tomorrow or get to work beleive me paying 20 bucks for a state approved id is dead last on your give a crap list. No one has even remotely advocated giving illegal immigrants the right to vote, except Ronald Reagan when he advocated and signed for their amnesty. But this is a classic republicaan ploy. You can't argue the facts so you split hairs and infer a few of your own.

The question or specter of voter fraud can easily and simply be made into a non issue by a very simple change in voter registration. Ergo, there would be no need for voter picture ID or anything but the voter card.

Step one, you register to vote and fill out all the necessary forms and provide picture id at the time of registration or some form of accepted id that shows that you are you. This is already required method of voter registration.

Step two - Two cards that resemble credit cards are created. Both have your name and a voter id #, on the back is a swipe reader strip; the card you received has your name, id #, voting site and district. The other card just has your name and id # and also has a swipe reader strip on the back. Both cards work like atm bank cards. This card stays with the voter registration office for your county/city.

Step three - voting. You go to you voting site, give your name, the volunteers check you off and remove your matching card from their files. At the voting machine - you slide in your card and the volunteer slides in the matching card in a second card reader.

Step four - you vote, verify your vote and enter finished, your card is returned to you. Your voter registration matching card is deposited into the machine. In otherwords, it ejects out into a lock box in the machine.

Step five - at the end of the voting day, a voter registration judge requests the maching to print out a voting summary, which then allows the judge who has a key to be able to remove the box containing the voting cards.

Step six - the voter registration matching cards are replaced into their file.

End of any voting fraud from inside sources or out side sources.

If you are registered to vote = you can vote.

In the military - same set up. The machines do not need to be any bigger than a laptop.
Out of the country - go to the nearest American Consulate and vote.

Difference is that you would be doing your voting on a closed circuit line, which would link you to your registration site. The clerk would note that you are logged on and enter your card remotely. These cards would also stay in the lock box until all votes were in and summary for that machine was printed.

We have the technology - why not use it?

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/14/2008 2:31:46 AM

Because according to the Democrats, voter validation is unfair. There goal isn't to validate whether someone is legitimate, their goal is to unhitch the system on the chance they could win. I have no respect for this "whatever it takes" mentality.

  • Posted By: Sam_lowrey @ 09/13/2008 9:00:34 PM

Hmmm, the Democrats try to get Blacks who are ineligible to vote. I guess that is OK?

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 09/14/2008 2:29:36 AM

Its not just a question of ineligibility, its about allowing illegal aliens to vote, and for people to vote multiple times. You can get a state ID card without taking a test. The only reason the Dems would be agitating for this, is so they can win without actually having a plurality of votes. Maybe we give them too much credit for having thought this through, because its either insidious or moronic, I haven't quite decided.
