Messageman, you don't have a clue. Newsweek, your purposely un-retouched photo of Sarah Palin is being shown to my students as an example of how twisted the media has become. LOL from a teacher.

Back in 1999,before the 2000 election, I stated that electing George W. Bush a.k.a "GDUBYA" would be the "DUMBING DOWN OF AMERICA". We now see the results of that choice.

Let me now say that electing Mccain and Palin will be the continuation of the same. And as I watch this current election unfold, from reports from FOXNEWS,MSNBC,CNBC,CSPAN, they all are trying to convince us that Mccain is the best choice to run our country with their biased views and its soo obvious.

Every time they show the map of the country with the RED STATES, for McCain and the BLUE STATES, for Obama, it baffles me to think that the people in those states could be so stupid, to elect McCain and continue these failed policy's of the Republican party, they are the one's who have gotten us in this financial meltdown we are currently in.

Now the media is trying to hail McCain as the one who is showing leadership by trying to postpone tonights debate to focus on the bailout, well he went to Washington as did Obama, he sat there and said nothing the entire time the meeting took place so what was the point of going?

Did any of you see Sarah Palin's interview with Katie Curic? where she stated that Russia is close to Alaska so that somehow gives her foriegn policy experience, to me that was the most stupid thing she could have said, an absolute JOKE!

McCain dosen't want to match wit's with Obama on any of the issues because he is a "FAKE" and a dummie who I read ranked 974 in a graduating class of 989, this is who you people are supporting to run this country for the next 4 years.

I cannot believe that the people of this country are really that DUMB, or are you? if you do I guess you also think our economy is FUNDAMENTLY SOUND. America please WAKE UP. less

Good thing Barry showed great judgment in picking Biden over Hillary....we wouldn't have this kind of stuff to use against him.

... But One Life to Give the IRS
    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/but_one_life_to_give_the_irs.html

The Boston Tea Party be damned. This week, Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden unleashed the most absurd remark of his illustrious career, claiming that taxes are "patriotic."

Biden claims that wealthier Americans should pay more in taxes because "it's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut."

Oh, the injustice of American society!

When, exactly, did taxation transform into a form of charity? Biden, it seems, has a difficult time differentiating between coercion and generosity. The distinction is simple: When one fails at altruism, he is a louse; when one fails to pay taxes, he ends up in the slammer.

But anyone can "jump in" at any time. Biden and his wife -- who would be considered wealthy under an Obama-Biden tax plan -- for instance, gave an average of $369 a year to charity during the past decade. So you can see that by "help," Biden means assistance with your money.

OMG, is that what this is all about? Are you one of those die-hard, petulent Hillaryites who have sold their souls (not to mention all of hillary's ideals) for revenge? ROTFLMAO!

Oh, and if you think Unholy and you are packing them in for the RNC, again ROTFLMAO!

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/20/2008 5:42:26 PM

So you think Biden was a better choice than Hillary? Wow....yeah you are a great judge of character.
Yes I did vote for Hillary....so please say all the nasty derogatory things you want....that's really going to unite the party. I can't wait until November. It's going to be great.

        • Posted By: neos @ 09/20/2008 6:08:19 PM

So you did sell your soul for revenge? I mean was their an actual fire-proof contract and everything? Kidding, little one, kidding. Well since it is just you and me here, I was for Hillary myself. But since Obama and Senator Clinton both support the Democratic platform and I am an issues voter I had no problem jumping on board. I live in a very conservative neighborhood and Hillary had bad baggage here so i was just fine with Joe Biden. He is a good solid choice. i hope that you get your soul back after November. One good way to do so would be to visit the 7th floor of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C. That's where they keep the traumatic brain injury cases from Iraq. Your new found friend McCain is one of the few who still supports and rationaiizes this disasterous misadventure and seems quite content to leave our young men in harm.s way. As you walk by their bedsides go ahead and give a big hearty laugh about getting your revenge on Senator Obama.

          • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/20/2008 9:29:12 PM

Wow and I didn't think you could stoop that low. Guess I was wrong. When will you realize that you have become the thing that you hate. Your intolerant and a hater. You use those soldiers to try to score political point on a damn message board. I'm sure they appreciate what your doing in their name.

            Your a sick sick man.

            • Posted By: neos @ 09/21/2008 3:25:21 PM

I am a sick, sick man. But not as sick as when I was on the 7th floor at WRAMC. Had you been following my earlier post with SEA etc., you might have caught on that i am a disabled vet. Things have improved somewhat for me. I am one of the few luckier ones. I am sure many of my comrades-in-arms would have no problem with my admonishment of your campaign of revenge and hatred. They are Republican and Democrat but they have all been misused by the vote for Iraq. Except of course the Afgan vets; that was a cause worth fighting for.
I'm luckier than you are,. i dislike McCain's policies but i do not have to stoop to demonizing him as a person. I believe he wants the best for our country, but he is wrong on the ISSUES. You see. you really don't support McCain, you are against Obama. Little by little you have to support McCain's policies and the Republican agenda, issues that you are smart enough to see are wrong, but you have to buy into them and defend them tofeed your revenge. I feel so sorry for you. You are so lost and misguided, striking out blinly like a child deprived. You are running on a platform of hate along with Unholy and quite a few others here. And the problem is this: If you win then hate wins. Someday you may be fortunate enough to understand this. Until then, God's speed and i hope you get better too.

Let's just see how many of Obama's Hollywood glitteratti volunteer to do their their patriotic duty by infusing a massive financial sum to support the American economy.

Will Obama and Biden step forward to open their wallets significantly?

Does anyone else remember when the Republican party used to claim to be the 'law and order' party? Oh how times have changed. Now we have the spectacle of McCain sending a team of high-powered New York lawyers to obstruct justice up in Alaska. A BIPARTISAN committee, 10 Republicans and 4 Democarats voted UNANIMOUSLY to start an investigation into allegations that Palin abused her office to settle a personal grievance. They appointed an independent investigator to get at the truth. Gov. Palin PROMISED full co-operation, Candidate Palin is on the run. What are they hiding? The McCain legal team is now claiming partisan tainting. Of course that's true now that they have said it. So now team McCain is obstructing justice and refusing subpoenas, as if he needed another link to the Bush administration. If she is innocent why not get the investigation over with sooner rather than later? Obviously the best option is to cry partisanship and get the truth of her 'innocence' out. These stalling tactics only make her and McCain look much worse and will raise Troopergate's visibility as a negative campaign issue. Therefore, logic dictates that she is most certainly guilty at some level of the charges and their best hope is to delay findings until after the election. Sort of like Nixon and the watergate investigation in 72. But this all may backfire; there just might be enough decent Republicans left who believe enough in law and order to call a halt to these shenanigans.

John McCain knew that Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac would collapse, and thereby unjustly burden the American public!

In 2005, Senator John McCain cosponsored the Federal Housing Enterprise Reform Act to regulate the powers and procedures of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.

These 2 massive federal finance agencies had been operating without controls in a blatant irresponsible manner, and had been found guilty in court of falsifying financial records and statements in order to provide supposed justification for bonuses to be given to their higher echelon administrators.

These 2 organizations had been coerced by Democrats, who because of political opportunism, wanted them to grant mortgages to individuals who would be unable to make their required monthly payments. That would be in accordance with the irresponsible Democrat belief that everyone should be entitled to have their own home, irrespective of their actual ability to afford that luxury.

Both of these mortgage lending institutions have contributed massive financial sums to support the political aspirations of Chris Dodd and Barack Obama.

Senator John McCain realized 3 years ago that fraudulent transactions were rampant within these 2 enterprises, and that they would soon collapse if remedial action was not undertaken.
Their bankruptcy would result in the American taxpayers having to go into debt to resurrect or ???bail-out??? these fraudulent Congress protected entities.

As was to be expected, this proposal to institute meaningful financial reform measures was obstructed by the Democrats in the Senate, and the proposal failed to be adopted.

This year, due to the Democrat furor over the collapse of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, the American taxpayers are burdened by having to pay a minimum of 450 billion dollars to ???bail out??? these 2 recklessly managed lending companies.

John McCain exposed and opposed the corrupt lending practices of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. Barack Obama ???milked the system??? and profited by obstructing reform of their corrupt lending practices.

Democrats have demonstrated that they can wreck the mortgage industry.

Are you willing to vote them into office, and give them a blank check to mismanage the American economy, security, and health care?

Again, as we have been so many times, we are hit between the eyes with the reality of our mistakes ??? but will we ever learn from them? Today???s shocking news reminds us that Pakistan is and has continually been a very serious problem and a threat to our interests. There would seem to be clear and rational evidence that those who advocated attacking Iraq was the wrong action for the wrong reasons, only benefit for Special Interests and a select few, were absolutely correct. Not advocating that we should have attacked Pakistan but any objective viewer would be hard pressed not to see that we would have been far better off concentrating our resources on Afghanistan and pressuring Pakistan to rid the area of Taliban and al Qaeda. Now that is simply a task we still have to do and is being left for the next president.

Then there is the current financial crisis here at home (with global impact) with the humongous tax payer sponsored bailout, simply caused and allowed by unchecked and uncontrolled greed. Even with the costly bailout it is unclear how much further the crisis and the drastically negative impact on our economy will go. The government is now committed to the heavy costs, necessitated only because the attitude all along has been for large scale deregulation in encouraging open markets and benefiting mainly Special Interests and a select few. The bailout itself again costs the average American while it really saves the big money people and may still leave us exposed to dire states. Once more it is a problem that is being left to the next president.

Will we ever learn from our mistakes? I don???t support the need for a big brother or for a large intrusive style government but it seems very obvious that a government offering more protection for the people and real checks and balances on the powerful is desperately needed; government is actually suppose to do for the people that which they can???t do for themselves, instead of just rationalizing benefiting a select few. This presidential election is our chance to prove we have learned from our mistakes by not electing someone who has supported these passed failed policies, by not electing someone who is committed to continue with more of the same, by not electing someone who again would be just a puppet for Special Interests and a select few, by not electing someone who offers just change rhetoric, much as GWBush did, but rather by electing someone who has the intellect and commitment to offer real change that benefits all of the people. Whatever anyone???s biases, prejudices and emotional attachments tell them, the reality is that Obama-Biden fills the bill and McCain-Palin does not.

Barack Obama profited substantially by receiving financial support from the corrupt executives of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.

An investigation of his involvement in those 2 companies should be conducted immediately.

John McCain and Sarah Palin will ensure that effective regulatory controls are placed on these 2 lending institutes which, capitulated to democrat insistence that mortgages should be granted to individuals who could not repay those mortgages.

The democrats in Congress are the real culprits in this political party greed fiasco.

Can any Obama supporter give me a link to Barry's plan to help the current Banking/Financial Meltdown?

    Here is McCain's:

First, to deal with the immediate crisis, I will lead in the creation of the Mortgage and Financial Institutions trust -- the MFI. The underlying principle of the MFI or any approach considered by Congress should be to keep people in their homes and safe guard the life savings of all Americans by protecting our financial system and capital markets. This trust will work with the private sector and regulators to identify institutions that are weak and fix them before they become insolvent. The MFI is an early intervention program to help financial institutions avoid bankruptcy, expensive bailouts and damage to their customers. This will get the Treasury and other financial regulatory authorities in a proactive position instead of reacting in a crisis mode to one situation after another.

The MFI will restore investor and market confidence, build sound financial institutions, assist troubled institutions and protect our financial system while minimizing taxpayer exposure. This is an important step, but it is not enough. I will also take the additional actions needed to make sure a crisis like this is never allowed to build and break over the American people again.

Second, I will propose and sign into law reforms to prevent financial firms from concealing their bad practices. An inexcusable lack of financial transparency allowed Wall Street firms to engage in reckless behavior that padded their profits and fattened executive bonuses when times were good, but now imperil the financial security of millions of Americans when their bets turned sour.

So much of the damage to our economy could have been avoided if these practices had been exposed to the light of day. Americans have a right to know when their jobs, pensions, IRAs, investments, and our whole economy are being put at risk by the recklessness of Wall Street. And under my reforms for the financial sector, that fundamental right will be protected.

So McCain spends what, an hour thinking about this, and now he as a plan. Just what we need, some off the cuff plan that he pulled out his ass overnight.

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/20/2008 5:16:28 PM

No he talked about it on thursday as well.... I posted that link further down. Where is Obama's plan?

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/20/2008 8:48:10 AM

Third, we need regulatory clarity. The lack of transparency in our financial markets went unnoticed by the regulatory agencies scattered throughout Washington charged with protecting the common good. We've got the SEC, the FDIC, the CFTC, the SIPC, the OCC, the Fed. At best, this confusing assortment of regulators and institutions was egregiously lax in carrying out their responsibilities. At worst, they engaged in the old Washington game of guarding their bureaucratic turf, instead of safeguarding the public interest and protecting investors.

Many in the financial services industry also either forgot or neglected their duty to act ethically and honorably. This shortcoming was aided and abetted by the creation of financial instruments that allowed lenders to escape any responsibility for the risk of their loans. In the past, lenders had to pay a price if they made a bad loan. Today, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac worked with Wall Street to bundle together all these dicey subprime loans and then pushed them off on investors who didn't have the tools of transparency needed to assess or even understand the risk.

The current system promotes confusion, encourages bureaucratic infighting and creates incentives for financial firms to cut corners. We need to enhance regulatory clarity by holding the same financial activity to one regulatory standard. We don't need a dozen federal agencies doing the job badly -- we need the best federal agencies to do the job right.

Fourth, we must ensure that consumers and investors are protected. Our regulatory system must protect consumers and investors by punishing individuals who engage in fraud, break contracts, or lie to customers -- like the predatory lenders who know you can't afford an adjustable rate mortgage, but mislead you into signing one. These actions are criminal and the people who commit them should be behind bars. And corporate governance rules will be reformed so that shareholders have a clear say in determining the pay of CEOs and other senior executives. On my watch, the consequences for corporate abuse will not be more enrichment, but more likely an indictment.

Fifth, in cases where failing companies seek taxpayer bailouts, the Treasury Department will follow consistent policies in deciding whether to guarantee loans. It must have well developed remedies for a financial crisis. With billions of dollars in public money at stake, it will not do to keep making it up as we go along.

Finally, the Federal Reserve should get back to its core business of responsibly managing our money supply and inflation. It needs to get out of the business of bailouts. The Fed needs to return to protecting the purchasing power of the dollar. A strong dollar will reduce energy and food prices. It will stimulate sustainable economic growth and get this economy moving again.

Barry was for the DC gun ban, before he was against it
Barry was for Public Financing, before he was against it.
Barry still hasn't put out a plan to fix the current Wall st. crisis, gave another lame Above my pay grade type of response, "wait and see." That will be a very effective strategy for 4 years if he wins.

Again I thank you for insinuating I am racist.....lets me know you really don't have anything else to go on.

Oh one more things....how is a link to ABC news, "unnamed sources?" And I expect you to be able to handle the Google to find the transcript from "This Week with Stephanopoulos" with Barry to verify that my copy/paste is accurate. If you can't handle that, you have lost all credibility.

Hell is freezing over....The Washington Post actually has the Audacity to correct Obama on John McCain record.
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/18/AR2008091803159_pf.html

TO LISTEN to Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. John McCain is a Johnny-come-lately to the cause of regulating financial markets. "He has consistently opposed the sorts of common-sense regulations that might have lessened the current crisis," Mr. Obama said in New Mexico yesterday. "When I was warning about the danger ahead on Wall Street months ago because of the lack of oversight, Senator McCain was telling the Wall Street Journal -- and I quote -- 'I'm always for less regulation.' "

But the full quotation from Mr. McCain's March interview with the Journal's editorial board belies Mr. Obama's one-sided rendition. The Republican candidate went on to say, "But I am aware of the view that there is a need for government oversight. I think we found this in the subprime lending crisis -- that there are people that game the system and if not outright broke the law, they certainly engaged in unethical conduct which made this problem worse. So I do believe that there is role for oversight."

It's fair to say that Mr. McCain has dramatically ramped up the regulatory rhetoric in the wake of the meltdown on Wall Street. Mr. Obama made the argument about the need for increased oversight much earlier. And Mr. McCain has generally taken an anti-regulatory stance, although not in all cases -- his support for federal regulation of tobacco and boxing being prominent counter-examples

Mr. McCain was an early voice calling for the resignation of Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Harvey Pitt, charging that he "seems to prefer industry self-policing to necessary lawmaking. Government's demands for corporate accountability are only credible if government executives are held accountable as well."

In 2006, he pushed for stronger regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- while Mr. Obama was notably silent. "If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole," Mr. McCain warned at the time.

One element of the Obama campaign's brief against Mr. McCain is that he supported repeal of the law separating commercial banks from investment banks. "He's spent decades in Washington supporting financial institutions instead of their customers," Mr. Obama said yesterday. "Phil Gramm, one of the architects of the deregulation in Washington that led directly to this mess on Wall Street, is also the architect of John McCain's economic plan." Would it be churlish to point out that another author of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley law is former congressman Jim Leach, a founder of Republicans for Obama? Or that Obama advisers Lawrence H. Summers and Robert E. Rubin suppor

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 09/20/2008 1:16:25 PM

I think this is a good article, and while I am an Obama supporter, I want him held to the same standard as everyone else. If McCain has a decent record on financial issues, he should get credit for it.

And unlike the Republicans on this blog, I am not going to try to bluster my way through it or scream media bias.

But let's not forget that when it comes to disinformation, while there may be a little coming out of the Obama campaign, it is like a drizzle compared to the monsoon coming from McCain's campaign. Even Karl Rove said McCain was going too far. Come on, that's like the devil calling someone else evil.

"Sarah-mania" Grips Central Florida Before Rally
By Joe Follick in the Gainesville Sun.

For years, the nation???s top Republican candidates have trekked to The Villages in Central Florida as a must-stop on the campaign trail. The retirement community of more than 80,000 residents has hosted President George W. Bush, Florida Govs. Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist, presidential candidates including Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney and many others in recent years.

But local Republicans say this Sunday's rally with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may be the largest ever.

"Sarah-mania has taken over here," said Richard Cole, the chairman of the The Villages Republican Club of Sumter County.

THIS KEEPS UP AND McCAIN MAY GET MORE DEM. CROSSOVER VOTES THAN REAGAN VS. CARTER

"So you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity!" (Matt. 23: 28)....Be cautious....you are in an area, of which you know not....You have entered a dangerous arena.

Hussein fits these words of my Lord...."Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."

Obama, as the Fannie and Freddie M's crashed, gave a rally speech wherein he said "Americans cannot afford another wait and see government." Shortly after 3 different reports asked him about the F&F mess, his response to all three "we'll have to wait and see." Today he gave a speech after speaking to his economic advisors in Florida, his response "we'll have to wait and see." Which is it Dems, tell me I'm dying to know, does your candidate mean that HE can afford to wait and see? Because this economic crisis started months ago and he has yet to address it other than to say "we'll have to wait and see." So I ask who can afford to wait and see?

Senator McCain???s history has shown us a cornucopia of flip-flops, much of which he calls being a ???Maverick??? but which have actually always been just trying to adjust for advantage. As seen before and after the Keating scandal, before and after running for president in 2000, before and after having his legs cut out from under him (which he claimed was the result of Bush???s dirty politics), before and after committing his strong support to Bush in 2004, and now before and after running for president again and then throughout this current campaign relating to most everything and so vividly in the current financial crisis. For the moment put aside Sarah Palin???s incompetence and gross dishonesty and just ask how can someone, John McCain, who is so out of touch and willing to change so frequently, at a moments notice, ever be trusted to resolve the problems, many of which were caused by the policies he so strongly supported? First he has been a strong advocate of deregulation and now he says more regulation is absolutely necessary. Then he was against any bailouts and within one day switched to say they were really needed now. He was strongly committed to continuing with the Bush-Cheney policies and now says that he and Palin are agents of change. He has always supported tax cuts for the wealthy and open markets favoring Special Interests and a select few and just today he is calling for stimulating the economy and addressing the problems by providing the needed support and protection for the middle class, who he has simply neglected in the past and instead had inferred benefit would ???trickle down??? (what ???trickled down??? was the costs as the big money got bailed out). He offers to appoint a commission and faults Obama for wanting to take the time to determine more aggressive and direct action. What he says, he quickly retracts or simply offers to explain what he really meant. Just a week ago he was so strongly touting that the economy had strong fundamentals, inferring it was ready to recover, and then changed that to mean he had faith in the American worker, as if they could turn things around on their own. The truth is he doesn???t have a clue, talks without thinking, changes after consulting with others, often just copies what Obama says and, as Joe Biden put it; he is completely out of touch. He really wants badly to be president before he retires and then desperately chose Sarah because he thought she would be aggressive and flashy when campaigning but what of anything does any of that do for the American people?

Yes, the republicans could have stopped all of this in 2005.

That would be the same 2005 when the republicans controlled the house, controlled the senate, and controlled the presidency.

        So what happened?

      • Posted By: benkrapf @ 09/20/2008 10:56:52 AM

        Nobody killed the bill.

Republicans shelved the bill in favor of energy policy legislation they wanted to prioritize. Perhaps they knew that soon, they wouldn't have an easy majority...

In 2006, when Congress changed, the books were cleared, so any bills not yet passed were cleared off the books. Happens every time there's a new Congress.

If the republicans cared about this reform act, then they would have resumed its passage after passing their nearly criminal energy policy bills allowing oil companies to gouge us all.

Republicans vote on something, shelve it out of personal financial expedience (namely, kickbacks from oil companies), then get all bent out of shape, crying crocodile tears and claiming phony indignation.

Palin is actually part of the cause of the recent world financial market crisis. Here???s why: Palin, and the initial bump McCain got from her in the polls introduced a risk that sent shivers throughout the world financial market that had already been jitterish.

Risk of future income has a direct effect on stock and bond prices. More risk causes lower prices. The world just does not know how to assess a McCain/Palin administration.

Most of the world is puzzled by McCain???s running mate. They are even more puzzled that he got such a big bump from it.

Thus, it was no coincidence that the big correction in the financial markets came immediately after polls showed a big bump to the McCain/Palin ticket.

Of course, Palin IS NOT the fundamental problem for the financial market problems. However, I am sure it had an adverse effect because the market does not like risk OR unknowns!

Neos: I see you had enough time to try and attack me but you still haven't answered my question to you from the other day, even though I answered all of yours....why is that I wonder? Still haven't recieved word from you BarackObama.com or the Kos?

Please explain how this comment from Obama is not a lie? If you could provide a link to the plan that Obama is talking about please.
"In January, I outlined a plan to help revive our faltering economy," Obama said, "which formed the basis for a bipartisan stimulus package that passed the Congress."
    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/obama-inflates.html

While your at it can you explain this comment by Barry?
    From "This Week" With
STEPHANOPOULOS: So, even if we???re in a recession next January, you come into office, you???ll still go through with your tax increases.

OBAMA: No, no, no, no, no, no. What I???ve said, George, is that, even if we???re still in a recession, I???m going to go through with my tax cuts. That???s my priority.

    STEPHANOPOULOS: But not the increases?

OBAMA: I think we???ve got to take a look and see where the economy is. I mean, the economy is weak right now. The news with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, I think, along with the unemployment numbers, indicates that we???re fragile.

The implications are Barry won't rescind Bush's Tax cuts if we are in a recession, which he keeps telling us daily that we are. Obama's shying away from any increase in the tax burden on the rich is a clear indication that, should he be elected in November, his administration will enact no significant social programs to ameliorate the conditions confronting the millions of unemployed, the great majority of working people confronted with dramatically declining real wages and the tens of millions trapped in poverty.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/20/2008 11:20:47 AM

At the risk of repeating myself.
I answered SEA's question's on Palin and 'Fiona'. Seek and ye shall find. As for responding to your cherrry-picked conjecture piece which in the final analysis rests on opinion and unnamed sources, uh no thanks. And then there is the matter of your LYING about being a Democrat. TSK, TSK
I can find limks that will support any position I want as can you. Especially those links with 'unnamed sources.' You seem to be young and politically naive and I would cut you some slack, but when you lied about party affiliation you lost all credibility.
In high school contests you vote for personality. This is not high school. Mature adults affiliate themselves with a political parties based on issues. A party formalizes its stands on these issues in its platform. Democratic issues include support for the middle class to avoid the ever widening gap between rich and poor, adequate health care access for the 47 million of our fellow citizens without insurance, regulation of the excesses in the private sector to avoid the type of economic meltdown we are watching today, equal pay and equality for women, sound environmental stewardship, international cooperation over isolationism, etc., etc.
It stretches credulity to believe that you suddenly stopped believing in these types of core issues and are willing to vote for a republican platform that makes a mockery of them. So when you say you were a Democrat, either you are incredibly shallow or a liar. I'm guessing both. So, you are voting on personality for whatever reason. Probably the ridiculous experience argument, all too often a cover for other more nefarious reasons for not voting for Obama. That is entirely your perogative, but don't claim to have been a real Democrat.

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/20/2008 11:48:54 AM

Name caliing again? And you have the audacity to call me young, naive, shallow and a liar?

Yet you refuse to answer my questions, even when I answered your loaded questions.
You call me a liar about being a Democrat, well I guess you will call a lot of Former Democrats liars this year. Just this last week 3 Hillary supporters and life long Democrats, like myself, came out in support of McCain. You really just can't comprehend that someone can put the country first and party last. You blind allegiance to the Democratic Party is what drives us out. Didn't Donna Brazille say "We don't need you" to those Hillary supporters that don't support Obama? Well we got the message, you don't need us because you have the youth vote, how has that worked for you in the past? Did it ever turn up the landslide victories, the Democrats have been calling for in the past?

I'm really glad that your insinuating that I'm a racist with your "nefarious reasons for not voting for Obama." It's a nice touch. Typical argument from Obama supporters...please what have I said in my posts, would qualify me as being a racist? If your going to make the claim please back it up.
Your arguments are juvenile, I know your smart enough to know that. You know that calling people racist is not a great way to win over their support. You know that, I know that. So why do you keep doing it?

Of course I don't expect an answer from you.

I suspect you just don't know why Barry wouldn't rescind Bush Tax cuts IF we are in a recession, or why Barry keeps taking credit for things he has not business taking credit for. There is word for your refusal to aspect any information that challenges your preconceived notions, its call Cognitive Dissonance. If you don't know it, the look it up.
I've already had mine challenge, and realized the Democratic Party is not the party I voted for.

        • Posted By: neos @ 09/20/2008 1:56:01 PM

First of all. aspect is not a verb. Second, you have misdefined cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is a condition of conflict or anxiety resulting from inconsistency between one's beliefs and one's actions. An excellent example of cognitive dissonance is claiming to support Democratic ideals and planning to vote for a Republican.
I clearly stated that the experience line is all too often a cover for other reasons for opposing Senator Obama's candidacy. I know this from personal experience. I did not state that that is YOUR reason. Only you know what's in your heart, maybe. But I do believe your 'personal' dislike for the Senator from Illinois shows a political immaturity and is somewhat suspicious. That and allying yourself with the likes of a notorious religious bigot like old Unholyroller...

I'm going by Festinger's theory of cognitive dissonance. Google it if you don't know it.

If you want to be the grammar police, I know of a couple examples from your posts where you Fail. I don't see you critiquing any of your fellow Barry blowers' posts? Is that a double standard? It can't be from someone as tolerant as a Barry supporter.

This haha thing you do sounds like a nervous tic. The truth about yourself can be scary when you have to confront it. The truth is you don't want answers to your questions; you just want to 'win' petty little political points. You are not here to convince or be convinced; you are here to shoot off your big bazoo and win the approbation of Unholy and his ilk. If you wanted real answers you would be asking yourself hard questions about both sides and not try to find obscure biased links that support an already hardened view..
Speaking of hardened, your heart is in peril, little one. Turn away from the dark side, luke, while you still can. Otherwise you will grow up to join SEA, Daytrader, Floridave, Unholy, ets. who hunker down every night, friendless and forlorn, glued to Fox News, a network only too happy to reinforce their misanthropy with its constant barrage of negativism. That is Fox's niche, selling scorn and derision to modern-day Ebeneezers, grumpy old farts who have lost their way and have allowed their souls to become all shrivelled up and Republicanized. Use the force, Luke. Learn to think for yourself. Real questions, the hard ones, come before answers.

Since when are links to WSJ, RCP, ABCnews "obscure?" If I'm not here to "convince to be convinced" then what exactly are you here for? Your mind is obviously already made up as well. Seems to me that your accusing me of your faults in an effort to hide them. It's much easier to accuse your antagonist of your own faults isn't it? Yet much harder to acknowledge them in yourself.
I am thankful that people like you are on here. You have definitely helped me see how loony the Democrats have become. How hateful they are to any ideas that challenge them. I know you won't see it until much later but I'm sure your smart enough that you will.
I, actually, used to watch MSNBC a lot before and during the Primaries. That was until I started to realize how much hatred was coming out of the mouths of Olbermann and Mathews. The way they treated fellow Democrats that supported Hillary were just deplorable. So now I watch CNN sometimes, but actually get most information from realclearpolitics.....so please tell me how RCP is right wing? I'd like to read that one. Of course you won't believe a word I say, just like you can't believe I voted Democrat since I was 18 until now. Then you'd have to face the reality that the Democratic Party is not unified. Then that would cast doubt on if Barry can win. Mr "Post-Partisan" Obama would be very proud of you! You keep driving people away. =)

      HolyRoller! How are you?

I suppose Obama will give these crackpots credence when Rove submits to his Congressional subpoena and McCain admits that he was in fact not born in the U.S. and is thus not a citizen.

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 09/20/2008 11:19:31 AM

I'm great...thanks for asking......my take on all this is....Hussein could have put all this to rest by releasing a vaulted copy of his birth certificate, for all to see....He either refuses or can't....both give an appearance of guilt.

This is not up to ...you, me, Berg, Hussein Obama Soetoro, or anyone else.....it will be up to a Federal Judge. What will be the results?....I do not pretend to know...I DO know that the same type of suit against McCain was tossed out this week....This however, has legs...Berg (while a goofball) does know his stuff...he is former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. Check out his site at www.obamacrimes.com

Berg is on record as saying....THE POSTED C.O.L.B.s are FAKES....and the Obama silence on the matter is an indication of this fact.

I'm sure the courts will sort it all out.

          And the banality continues!

    • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 09/20/2008 2:13:06 PM

Where and what is happening to your Messiah Sinclair? Haven't heard about you ranting and raving about him? This lawsuit is frivilous and a waste of the court's time.

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 09/20/2008 2:34:04 PM

        markymark...what up dawg...missed ya...no, not really...Larry Sinclair??? LOTS happening...check it out @ www.larrysinclairbarackobama.com

Babyboy Biden dropped all the bogus charges against him. Sinclair is suing. He is doing tons of interviews...sticking to his story...going on the road.

As for the lawsuit being frivolous...I'm not an attorney...but Hussein, the DNC, and the FEC have been served. They have until 9/24 to respond. Berg has filed for expedited discovery...citing a constitutional crisis.

Berg, although somewhat of a goofball, is a very competent and prominent attorney. He is the former Deputy Attorney of the State of Pennsylvania. He says he has his ducks in a row, and is completely confident he can prove Hussein WAS BORN in Kenya. We will see soon.

Instead of whining, check out Bergs site. www.obamacrimes.com The Federal Judge will sort it all out.

And I thought the "Obama isn't a citizen so he can't run for president" argument was tired.

I completely forgot about the "I am a completely unstable homosexual who will do anything for his 15 minutes of fame" argument.

How long before you drag out the "Michelle Obama made racist comments on You Tube" comments?

          Pathetic!

Keep dreaming nutbag - all the way until November when Obama wins.

Holy Roller, still beating the drum for the dying Aristocracy represented by Bushes and the GOP? That's sad. They're really quite mediocre. No brains, all greed and no real achievement. Total failures, I might assert. What does poor W have to point at in his entire career that he can be proud of? He's torn down the entire economic fabric of the world in just eight years via his ill-conceived, ANYTHING BUT CLINTON policies. He's a total and complete moron, and now you're supporting another -- this one an aging aristocrat whose money comes from the Mafia via his wife's daddy, twice imprisoned for felonies committed by his associations with Bugsy Segal and the Mob.

Oh boy, you're on terra firma with your buddy McCain. That's stellar, you can sure pick the winners.

Check out the latest Gallup poll:

    Obama 50%
    McCain 44%

    http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx

Of course, now all the republican nut jobs on this board are going to scream about how the poll is biased, how Gallup is really for Obama, yadda, yadda, yadda!

Going to get really fuunnny...real soon....GOD D**N AmeriKKKa....I think I hear the word "whitey" over and over..

Laura Meckler wrote yesterday evening, September 19, 2008, in the Wall Street Journal:

Don't be shocked if you see the McCain campaign pull the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright out of mothballs in new attacks against one-time parishioner, Barack Obama.

McCain advisers say that they see "attack by association" as fair game now, arguing that Obama???s campaign has been using that technique to go after McCain. In particular, the Obama campaign has hammered McCain on the stump and in TV ads on the number of one-time lobbyists working for his campaign. (The McCain campaign is also angry about a Spanish-language TV ad that ties McCain to Rush Limbaugh on immigration, without ever saying that McCain took on Limbaugh and others to fight for comprehensive immigration reform.)

"They played it one way, we played it another way," said one of McCain???s top advisers, Mark Salter. "Now we???re both going to play it the same way."

WONDER HOW MANY TIMES WILLY AYERS WILL BE ON THE TV??? REZKO SENTENCING SET FOR WEEK BEFORE ELECTION...WITNESS PROTECTION...HUSSEIN HEAD ON A STICK???

Gonna get crazy...better order your Kool-Aide early kids.

McCain is so dumb and he picked a real bimbo for his VP that the Wall Street Journal had to come out this week and say he's off the mark. Rupert Murdoch long ago endorsed Obama.

Get real, guys, McCain-Palin will be edged out bit by bit - Americans aren't stupid. We will not "fight" to put another moron even worse than Bush into the White House for another term. It would be the international tragedy beyond compare if the GOP wins this year. The whole world will be so disappointed in us. We will lose our leadership position and tear down the global economy as our crashes.

Quick, sound off- how many of you political geniuses voted for Bush in 2004?

Good thing I'm an Atheist then.
Is it too hard for you to fathom that a Atheist Pro-Choice w/limits Former Democrat can have the Audacity to vote on the basis of record and accomplishment over Hype and Hope?
I suppose it is hard for you to understand. You will need to learn to when millions of former Democrats vote for McCain this year.

          • Posted By: neos @ 09/18/2008 11:33:15 PM

OMG, wait till Unholyroller finds out that you are an atheist!! I would respond more but you seem to have left the party. McCain doesn't pay his operatives overtime?

As a former Republican, now Independent ...

        I voted for W in 2000

        and

Reluctantly voted for Kerry in 2004. Had to pinch my nose on while casting that vote.

Funny how quiet the room got for a moment. What's the matter, boys, no need to be shy. Fess up. At least SEA is showing honesty (if not political astuteness.)

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/18/2008 10:27:58 PM

Still waiting for you to answer my questions. But I guess you can't....oh well time for bed anyway...I'll check in the morning to see if you have an answer.

      • Posted By: neos @ 09/18/2008 10:18:04 PM

Steady. old fella. Hanging chads ruined the 2000 election, not 2004.

        • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/18/2008 10:22:07 PM

hahaha....nevertheless... that's how it was... is.... depend on how you define "was"... or "is"....

    • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/18/2008 10:11:14 PM
