McCain Top Economic Adviser: He Will Raise Taxes

"Whether you're a Republican, Democrat President or a Martian, Taxes will be Raised"

Though Mccain has said Throughout his campaign "I will Not, Raise Your Taxes"

His Top Economic Adviser says that a LIE....Obama will Raise Taxes on those that make More than 250,000...

The under will have a Tax Break and Tax Cut.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former Director of the Congressional Budget Office and current chief McCain economic advisor, is an honest man--which means he's something of a liability on the Straight Talk Express. A few months ago, he admitted to my colleague, Michael Scherer, that Barack Obama's economic plan would reduce taxes for most people. And now, in a forthcoming book by Fortune columnist Matt Miller, he makes it clear that the next President is going to have to raise taxes.

"If you do nothing on the spending side, you're going to have to raise taxes whether you're a Republican, a Democrat or a Martian," he tells Miller...and then he immediately makes it clear that the "spending side" part of the argument is nothing more than a political fig-leaf.

In the William Jefferson Clinton era the issue was NAFTA and the stated core value of the Democratic party was the defeat of a trade agreement that was 'unfair to working Americans." And the first week of Mr. Clinton's Presidency began with the ratification of a trade agreement that Mr. Clinton himself swore he would never ratify. Being a Perot supporter - not to mention Gore and Kerry - I just shook my head at the gullibility of the Democratic sheep and thier continued refusal to acknowledge their parties detachment with American values as is evident in the Democratic parties support of a racist Muslim for th the position of President of the United States. Good luck with that one....

Racist Muslim? Way to elevate the conversation, tough guy.

Obama is not actually black - he's African -American and only half black - but like the rest of his campaign - it's what's politically correct and liberal - not the truth. And to the comment about women voters beng dumb, how true - it's those dumb women watching Oprah and eating bon-bons here in Iowa that propelled this media celebrity with no real credentials into this position. Get yourself away from the rhetoric and the hype - bottom line is the Democratic party has finally carried Political Correctness to the limit - and that's why Barack Obama should not be President - even if McCain is not the best choice available - McCain certaintly beats the alternative.

HE is not African American. He is the son of a white, American woman and a father who is from Africa. African American connotes a lineage of black people brought here by probably your ancestors.

As just about everyone knows by now, Charlie Gibson of ABC News had the first interview with Gov. Sarah Palin since her acceptance of the VP nomination.

If you think that there is no double standard in the media, just compare the questions Obama was asked by Gibson to the ones Gibson asked Palin, courtesy of Nancy Kallitechnis:

    Obama interview:

How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to win?
How does your family feel about your winning, breaking a glass ceiling?
    Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
    Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
    Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor's [Clinton] speech?

    Palin interview:

Do you have enough qualifications for the job you???re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren't you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
    Questions about foreign policy
    -territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
    -NATO treaty
    -Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
    -Al Qaeda motivations
    -the Bush Doctrine
    -attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? (misquoted Palin)

2008....the year that will be remembered as the year jounalism died........and it has cost Hussein the election...

    NOBAMA!!!

Biden is one of the top subject matters experts in foreign policy in the country. Hillary had a few years more in Congress than Obama. Obama was brilliant in chosing Biden, as this move protects the Democrats from a last minute effort from Bush/Cheney to provoke a military action to turn the election to McCain. Hillary wouldn't have had this reassuring presence for those who are easily scared. Keep in mind that Rove, Bush, Cheney, may all face criminal charges after they leave office. There is no way that they want to see a Democrat win the White House. They want to know that there will be a GOP president who will issue pardons if needed. They will do anything to get McCain elected, including provoking international events. Obama got the strongest, most electible foreign policy leader on his ticket and completely neutralized this risk. Also, this election is all about media coverage and the newscycles. The Republicans could have taken all of the Clinton's issues of the past and reintroduced them. Obama would spend all of his airtime defending his running mate, and would get blown out of the election. Obama didn't hit Hillary hard in the primary, as he knew he would need Bill's support. Repulicans would go after Bill and Hillary, and Obama's message would be an secondary issue. Think about it, if Hillary was really the best option, no way Republicans would have been encouraging it so much. They know that should would unify the Republican party and turn off the Ind. voters.

(Continued from my post above - Part 2 of 2 - Foreign Policy Experience)

gave him a lot of knowledge of what was happening around the world, though still not experience in making U.S. foreign policy.

Sen. JOE BIDENS years of service on the SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE is even FURTHER REMOVED FROM foreign policy EXPERIENCE. He has had a front-row seat as an OBSERVER of foreign policy. But Mr. Biden HAS NEVER HAD ANY REAL EXPERIENCE OF MAKING FOREIGN POLICY AND TAKING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE RESULTS.

The difference between being a spectator and being a participant, with responsibility for the consequences of what you say and do, is fundamental. You can read books about crime or attend lectures by criminologists, but you have no real experience or expertise about crime unless you have been a criminal or a policeman.

Though I served in the Marine Corps, I have no military experience in any meaningful sense. The closest I ever came to combat was being assigned to photograph the maneuvers of the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C. That was photographic experience, not military experience. If someone gave me a Pentagon policy making job, I wouldnt have a clue.

The fact THAT SEN. JOE BIDEN HAS FOR YEARS LISTENED to all sorts of people testify on all sorts of foreign policy issues TELLS US NOTHING ABOUT HOW WELL HE UNDERSTOOD THE ISSUES.

Out of the four presidential and vice-presidential candidates this year, ONLY GOVERNOR PALIN has had to make EXECUTIVE DECISIONS AND LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES.

As for Mr. Obama, his various PRONOUNCEMENTS ON FOREIGN POLICY have been as IMMATURE as they have been PRESUMPTUOUS. He talked publicly about taking military action against Pakistan, one of our few Islamic allies and a nation with nuclear weapons.

Mr. Obamas first response to the RUSSIAN INVASION OF GEORGIA was to URGE ALL SIDES TO NEGOTIATE A CEASE-FIRE and take their issues to the United Nations. That is standard liberal talk, which even Mr. Obama had second thoughts about, after Sen. JOHN MCCAIN GAVE A MORE GROWN-UP RESPONSE.

We should all have second thoughts about WHAT IS, and is not, FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE.

Just supporting information I am providing for any undecided voters about Governor Sarah Palin. Pia, there is one thing I can say about you. All you do is p*ss and moan about facts that I post (and provide links to source info), but I have NEVER once seen you provide any actual supporting information in detail as to why your candidate (Mr. O) is qualified to be POTUS. Much easier to diss bloggers that go out of their way to provide detailed info for others to read and either digest and take in or not. I in no way force anywone to my opinions. I just lay out the info for others to make their own mind up. Until you go out of your way to actually work to support your candidate to layout what his credentials are in what capacity (e.g. and Im talking about what self-led accomplishments has he made on his own and actually got passed in the US Senate) you dont have a leg to stand on. At least I do the research, state the facts as I know them, provide the links and let others determine what they feel are truths or no-truths. At least I go out of my way to provide info about McCains exper; and accomplishments and Palins exper and accomplishments as well as pointing out inadequacies of OBAMA. I have ndever seen you do any real research and post it EVER in these blogs. Until then, you are considered by many to just be an Obama supporter that just lives off of blind faith and hope that he will win cuz he is just so great cuz of how wonderful he is as an orator and inspirational speaker and 'smart guy' in your mind. You are too lazy to do the work to justify your candidate as being THE ONE. Much easier to diss all of those who actually DO their research. Shows how lame you are. BTW, have you invested in that padded cell in your backroom yet . . . just in case Obama happens to lose? LMAO. ; - D

      (Part 1 of 2)

      THE WASHINGTON TIMES
      Foreign policy experience
      By Thomas Sowell
      Saturday, September 6, 2008

Now that Democrats have recovered from the shock of Gov. Sarah Palins nomination as the Republican candidate for vice president, they have suddenly discovered that HER LACK of experience in general - and FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE in particular - is a terrible danger in someone just a heartbeat away from being president of the United States.

For those who are satisfied with talking points, there is no need to go any further. But, for those who still consider substance relevant, THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE ARGUMENT COMING FROM THOSE WHOSE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE HAS EVEN LESS EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC OFFICE THAN SARAH PALIN, AND NONE IN FOREIGN POLICY.

Moreover, IF SEN. BARACK OBAMA IS ELECTED, he will not be a heartbeat away from the presidency, his WOULD BE THE HEARTBEAT of the president - and he would be the one making foreign policy.

But the big talking point is that the Democrats vice-presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden, has years of foreign policy experience as a member, and now chairman, of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. That ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT THE DEFINITION OF EXPERIENCE IS.

Before getting into that, however, a plain fact should be noted: NO GOVERNOR EVER HAD FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE BEFORE BECOMING PRESIDENT - not Ronald Reagan, not Franklin D. Roosevelt, nor any other governor. It is hard to know how many people could possibly have had foreign policy experience before reaching the White House besides a secretary of state or a secretary of defense.

The last secretary of war (the old title of secretaries of defense) to later become president of the United States was William Howard Taft, 100 years ago. The last secretary of state to become president of the United States was James Buchanan, a century and a half ago.
The first President Bush had been head of the Central Intelligence Agency, which certainly

Obama is nothing like Bush, you might as well give that up. It's never gonna stick. Obama is a liberal. Mccain is the one using Rove's team to run his dishonest campaign. I don't see any pictures of Obama hugging Bush like he wants to give him a little butt lovin. If he is so much like Bush, why isn't Bush endorsing him for President? No Palin is the one exactly like Bush. It's obvious you have never read the platforms of either party. It might help you fiigure out the difference between the two candidates. Vote Issues.

          This one is funny.

Barack Obama's appearance in Denver won't be the first convention speech framed by Greek columns.

Republicans who are mocking Obama's appearance haven't mentioned it, but George W. Bush accepted his own nomination in 2004 on a set with a similar neoclassical theme, with columns rising on either side of him, as the pictures above and below show.

Indeed, the Bush set and the Obama sets currently look strikingly similar, with the podium set well in front of the columns, and connected by a path.

          Claiming to be a "uniter"
Both running their campaigns as a personality based instead of issue based.

          Here from Tucker Carlson:

Obama embracing much of Bush agenda

        http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:s5Pg3l8K-o0J:www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article%3FAID%3D/20080710/OPINION03/807100314+how+obama+is+like+bush&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=54&gl=us&client=firefox-a

Take social issues. Obama is now a gun-rights advocate. Like Bush, he applauded the Supreme Court's overturning of a Washington, D.C., ordinance banning the possession of handguns.

The senator, also like Bush, supports the death penalty. He recently objected to the court's rejection of a state law that allowed for the execution of child rapists.

And although Obama is still pro-abortion, he now, like the president, thinks "mental distress" should not justify late-term abortion.

In addition, the new Obama would like to continue ??? and even expand ??? Bush's controversial faith-based initiative program of involving churches in government anti-poverty programs.

In fact, Obama is sounding a lot these days like those red-state, small-town conservatives he once caricatured in his infamous comment about Pennsylvanians who "cling" to such hot-button, but extraneous, social causes.

Consider also the campaign trail. Like a Republican in good standing ??? but unlike the maverick John McCain ??? Obama has, by his sudden forgoing of public funds, rejected the idea of campaign-finance reform.
In fact, he's the largest raiser of private cash in American political history, and seems to have dropped opposition to accepting pernicious "special interest money." Like a Republican, he raises the most among the nation's wealthiest on Wall Street.

During the primaries, Obama seemed to advocate the dismantling of the North American Free Trade Agreement. But now candidate Obama has little desire to overturn the present Bush trade policies.

        • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/14/2008 6:14:01 AM

In fact, replace George Bush's Texas twang, cowboy strut and evangelical Bible thumping with Barack Obama's mellifluous "hope and change" rhetoric, easy grace and left-wing Christianity and we may discover a flashy new cover to an old book.

A final question: If, even as Obama trashes Bush, he seems to agree with him on so many fronts, why don't conservatives and Republicans adopt Obama as a welcome convert?

be able to debate both sides but that she didn't think it needed to be part of the
    curriculum.
    ==============
Where are your own facts? Can you point to a source online? Palin favors teaching creationism ALONGSIDE evolution.

Enter Your Comment she has stated that she has no problem with creationsim being part of the discussion /depate of science classes. For those of you who may or may not recall. Aproximately three years ago a school in PA ttried the very same thing. Ho do I now 1 I was working as a conselor at the school 2. It was on National news for months and 3. It was brought to the supreme court of PA where it was considered to be a against the consittion of Church and State. They had even purchasd books on creationism which had to be remoed.

Our forefathers when they wrote he constitution wanted to create a country that did not allow for religous persecution. The minute you state that someone or something bigger than us humans created the world yo have now enteed into the secular realm. Hence, the absoulte need to seperation of church and state.

How exatly is he going to create jobs? Balance the now 470Billion debt, drill for the 3% of oil we have when we use 25%, Reform the fannie and fredie mac crisis o he tune of bilions that will cost us as in you a taxpayer. Rebild our infrastructure, keep jobsin AMWERICA.. How will he do this and keep the former bush people ad lobbyist happen. Please spl out his plan if you know so much because I haven't heard a word on HOW or a PLAN and Palin just keeps repeating herself. Never mind she had no idea what the Bush Doctrine is and shes' a Republican. My 5 year older knew more about the Bush Doctrine than she did. So please explain to us how he's changing anthing when his own daughter admitted in a Naional Interview that he just got a Mac computer and is learning how to email for the first time.

BTW...if you want to see how Obama tax plan will pan out...look at Michigan
If you want to see how McCain's plan works look at Florida and Texas.

      • Posted By: ladder17c @ 09/14/2008 7:14:25 PM

Texas consistetly rates between 45 and 50 in education programs, healthcare, and senior living. Check with any bipartisan fact checks. Seems to me that the tax cuts there, don't work. By the way I am from Texas, voted for Bush Sr. Just a firefighter in Texas try to show my kids that not all people are racist when speaking about a possible president candidate. Hate him for his policies ,not his color, and name.

Nice to know you don't have anything good to say about Michigan. Granholm is a very good student of Obamanomics and see how great Michigan is for small business and growth.

    • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/14/2008 6:39:14 PM

Let's keep it very simple: Tax cut -> more money -> more investment -> more profit -> more spending -> more demand -> more job -> more competitive -> more job -> more money ->>> and the cycle continue.

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/14/2008 6:42:36 PM

        Too much logic....can't compute.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/14/2008 6:34:43 PM

Create jobs though his energy plan....thousand of new workers building clean coal, nuclear plants not to mention the workers needs to manufacture the materials not to mention the workers to run the facilities
More drilling means more people needed to work the fields, more workers to build more platforms, more workers to run though platforms. Obviously you haven't though any of those through. So I forgive you....
That's not ever talking about keeping small business owners taxes low so they can hire more workers in all the industries to support the new building projects...Imagine what could become of Michigan or Ohio if they become the main hubs for plant construction.
Please can you do the same for Obama's plan?

This election is almost upon us. Those who really care about our country will tune out the hate filled comments and start to insist on the truth from all the candidates. Palin should be subjected to the very same interviews that all the other candidates have been and she should be able to speak independantly of John McCain. When republicans get over the puppy love syndrome with Palin, I hope for the sake of the country that they start to ask about the issues and where Palin actually stands. Those who truly want what is best for our country will recognize the importance of bringing Americans together again in a way that will make us stronger. The kind of campaign that McCain is running is tearing us apart. Why do some on this sight seem to hate their fellow Americans simply because they have a different perspective on the issues that are going to effect all of us. This is not a game, it is not a contest to see who can sling the most mud or create the greatest divide in the United States.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 09/14/2008 6:48:57 PM

That cuts both ways though. Obama hasn't run the campaign he has promised to. Have you seen some the hate filled rants on here by Obama supporters? Or the hate filled attacks against Palin just because she doesn't believe exactly what Democratic women think she should believe. I don't hear any attacks against those Black Republicans on here? Why is that?

McCain and the Republican Party are always touting the "Surge" & "Victory" and I for one am very Glad Patraeus made this statement...

Because it Dispells this Republican "Victory" Bull-Spit !!!

General David Petraeus will leave his post as commander of US troops in Iraq, taking over US Central Command. As the chief of Central Command, the four-star general will oversee the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This week, General Petraeus discussed progress in Iraq and the possibility of victory. Check out these highlights from his interview with BBC, which airs tonight.

On whether US troops could withdraw from Iraq by the middle of next year: It's "doable."

On whether he will ever declare victory in Iraq:

"This is not the sort of struggle where you take a hill, plant the flag, and go home to a victory parade . . . it's not war with a simple slogan."

On his new role of overseeing Afghanistan at US Central Command: "The trends in Afghanistan have not gone in the right direction . . . and that had to be addressed." Afghanistan remains a "hugely important endeavor."

But last week at the bungalow where she now lives at Virginia Beach, a faded seaside resort 200 miles south of Washington, she told The Mail on Sunday how McCain divorced her in 1980 and married Cindy, 18 years his junior and the heir to an Arizona brewing fortune, just one month later. My marriage ended because John McCain didn't want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens...it just does.

'In 1979 - while still married to Carol - he met Cindy at a cocktail party in Hawaii. Over the next six months he pursued her, flying around the country to see her. Then he began to push to end his marriage. Some of McCain's acquaintances are less forgiving, however. They portray the politician as a self-centered womanizer who effectively abandoned his crippled wife to 'play the field'. They accuse him of finally settling on Cindy, a former rodeo beauty queen, for financial reasons.

T ed Sampley, who fought with US Special Forces in Vietnam and is now a leading campaigner for veterans' rights, said: 'I have been following John McCain's career for nearly 20 years. I know him personally. There is something wrong with this guy and let me tell you what it is-deceit.' When he came home and saw that Carol was not the beauty he left behind, he started running around on her almost right away. Everybody around him knew it. Eventually he met Cindy and she was young and beautiful and very wealthy. At that point McCain just dumped Carol for something he thought was better. 'McCain is the classic opportunist. He's always reaching for attention and glory,' he said. After he came home, Carol walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona . And the rest is history.'

Ross Perot, a billionaire Texas businessman, and a former presidential candidate, who paid her medical bills all those years ago, now believes that both Carol McCain and the American people have been taken in by a man who is unusually slick and cruel - even by the standards of modern politics.

It seems the new word for white folks these days is "racist" how dare you call any person on this planet that word as bad as your history is toward other human beings because of the color of their skin. I would prefer you just came out and call the man N word than to call him "RACIST"

    • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/14/2008 9:30:51 PM

Well, some tempted to call him a "confused muttlim" but that's may be viewed as very politically incorrect, so I am glad nobody call him that yet.

  • Posted By: abadreview @ 09/14/2008 5:41:46 PM

Anyone who refers to Obama's middle name while attacking him, is no better than a 2 bit racist. This election is much bigger than Obama vs. McCain. It's a war of ideals. Do we really want people like "Holy Roller" running this nation, and destroying everything our ancestor's fought and died for? The Republican right is entering dangerous territory, and I don't believe another 4 years will be tolerated by the people.

Last time I looked...mohammedism was a cult...not a race. Mohammeds come in all colors...their common factor is they worship a fallen Angel and a pedophile warrior.

Hussein's campaing is past struggling...it is running on fumes...and he lacks the substance to recover.

We will remember him as a one-hit wonder. A mohammed Dukakis.

We can't help the name we are born with. I respect Obama in that even though he has that middle name he is willing to keep it because it is who he was and who he is. It's a reminder of where he came from. And he also is a Christian. That's like saying for example that someone named Ronald Jesus Reagan was a Christian because of his name. I don't understand why you are so against Obama.

  • Posted By: sajawebb @ 09/14/2008 9:30:36 PM

McCain likes to illustrate his moral fiber by referring to his five years as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam. And to demonstrate his commitment to family values, the 71-year-old former US Navy pilot pays warm tribute to his beautiful blonde wife, Cindy, with whom he has four children.

But there is another Mrs. McCain who casts a ghostly shadow over the Senator's presidential campaign. She is seldom seen and rarely written about, despite being mother to McCain's three eldest children. She was the woman McCain dreamed of during his long incarceration and torture in Vietnam's infamous 'Hanoi Hilton' prison and the woman who faithfully stayed at home looking after the children and waiting anxiously for news.

But when McCain returned to America in 1973 to a fanfare of publicity and a handshake from Richard Nixon, he discovered his wife had been disfigured in a terrible car crash three years earlier. Her car had skidded on icy roads into a telegraph pole on Christmas Eve, 1969.Her pelvis and one arm were shattered by the impact and she suffered massive internal injuries. When Carol was discharged from hospital after six months of lifesaving surgery, the prognosis was bleak. In order to save her legs, surgeons had been forced to cut away huge sections of shattered bone, taking with it her tall, willowy figure. She was confined to a wheelchair and was forced to use a catheter.

Today, she stands at just 5' 4' in and still walks awkwardly, with a pronounced limp. Her body is held together by screws and metal plates and, at 70, her face is worn by wrinkles that speak of decades of silent suffering. For nearly 30 years, Carol has maintained a dignified silence about the accident, McCain and their divorce.

Sarah Palin forced rape victms of Wasilla Ak. to pay for their rape kit. Rape kits range anywhere from a few hundred to a thousand dollars. How many rape victims can a small town of 5000 residents actually have.. one a year? Has she ever been raped? She does not care about women..only about herself..she only wants to be president. This woman is bad news to all women.
