    Neocon:
Obama, I shall argue, does not control the distribution of senatorial staff pay. In other words, he is not in control of the budget for all U.S. Senators. The president is responsible for budgeting. Like Hillary, he supports equal pay for women, but the GOP's nominee opposed federal legislation for equal pay
    NEW ORLEANS ??? Republican Sen.
    John McCain
, campaigning through poverty-stricken cities and towns, said Wednesday he opposes
a Senate bill that seeks equal pay for women because it would lead to more lawsuits. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/23/mccain-opposes-equal-pay-_n_98342.html-------
Does McCain care more about corproations facing lawsuits for discriminating women on equal pay or does he care more about women's rights?

    • Posted By: neocon @ 09/16/2008 10:39:52 PM

Sorry but he DOES control what he pays his staff. This was such a simple thing Obama and his boys should have gotten right yet they didn't. Just imagine what accomplishments he could make as pres?
Judge him by his actions not his words.

Would you rather have a country with more equal pay for women or a country that works, period?

The trees don't matter right now because the whole forest is burning.

Obama is the one with the economic plan backed by Warren Buffett and certified as sound by independent financial analysis organizations.

Wouldn't you rather have a WHOLE COUNTRY that works?

A rising tide carries every ship, left right and center.

        Vote Bama.

And this relevent to the discussion of equal pay how?

          • Posted By: benkrapf @ 09/17/2008 2:38:33 PM

How is, such a discussion of gender pay equality in our current economic state is like complaining about a leaky roof when flood waters have washed away the first two floors of your house.

But it is relevant. Obama repeatedly attacks McCain as being against equal pay for equal work. Yet, the publicly available figures points out that he doesn???t practice what he preaches. When Obama???s female staffers on average make 83 cents for every dollar that his male staffer it is relevant to his position. When McCain???s female staffers on average make 1.04 compared to their male counterparts it shows Obama as being devote of the facts and disingenuous with his rhetoric.

McCain pays them more because they remind him of his first wife and he feels guilty. If you want to talk about McCain's view of women, look at all of the Barbie dolls he has historically surrounded himself with.

    http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.palin14sep14,0,4638337.story
After the Democratic primaries, I and a small group of Hillary Clinton supporters met with Sen. John McCain. I explained to him that women comprise more than half of the population, yet are underrepresented in every branch of government. I asked him to choose a woman for the vice presidential slot and to increase the number of women in the Cabinet and on the Supreme Court. Mr. McCain listened respectfully to my request.

After the Democratic Primary, I was contacted by a member of Sen. Barack Obama's Finance Committee, and we had numerous contentious conversations. I finally told him I would be happy to vote for Mr. Obama and rally other Hillary Clinton supporters, but in return I wanted Mr. Obama to pledge gender parity in the Cabinet.

"What if there aren't qualified women - you still expect us to appoint half women to the Cabinet?" he replied. "There are 300 million people in this country; you're telling me you can't find 10 qualified women?" I said.

He responded, "You can't have that." We had no further conversations.

Yes, policy is important, but who decides and delivers that policy is even more important. Children incorporate many of their perceptions about gender by age 5. Little girls won't understand if Sarah Palin is pro-life or pro-choice, believes in gun control or is a member of the NRA, but they will know the vice president of the United States is a girl - and that alone will alter their perceptions of themselves.

I have given my loyalty to the Democratic Party for decades. My party, which is comprised primarily of women, has not put a woman on a presidential ticket for 24 years. My party stood silently by as Hillary Clinton was eviscerated by the mainstream media.I can vote for my party and its candidates, which have demonstrated a blatant disrespect for women and a fundamental lack of integrity. Or I can vote for the Republican ticket, which has heard our concerns and put a woman on the ticket, but with which I fundamentally don't agree on most issues.

Right now, for me, gender trumps everything else. If Democratic women wait for the perfect woman to come along, we will never elect a woman. I will vote for McCain-Palin. I urge other women to do the same. I promise to be the first person knocking on her door if Roe v. Wade or any other legislation that goes against the rights of women is threatened. But in Governor Palin, I find a woman of integrity, who not only talks the talk but walks the walk. I can work with that. I will work with that.

Why do you guys trot out intellectuals to support Palin as an everywoman? She clearly is not and is vocal about all the differences between her and average (even white) women voters.

Anyway, I thought being smart or well-educated was the same as being "elitist".

      • Posted By: neocon @ 09/18/2008 10:36:58 AM

No, I trotted out a dissatisfied Clinton support. Who didn't like Obama's policies on women.

Well since you asked. Carol insists she remains on good terms with her ex-husband, who agreed as part of their divorce settlement to pay her medical costs for life. ???I have no bitterness,???

she says. ???My accident is well recorded. I had 23 operations, I am five inches shorter than I used to be and I was in hospital for six months. It was just awful, but it wasn???t the reason for my divorce.
Friends confirm she has remained friends with McCain and backed him in all his campaigns.

So get over something that happen 30 years ago. You act like his the first person to ever get divorced. There is enough question of character on Obama's side just as well.

I have been accused by neocon that I site unreliable sources in my posts in reference to McCain's interview regarding Spain. So how about CNN and Time I sincerely hope that they are considered reliable sources by neocon because it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo very important to me what this particular anonymous individual thinks LOL!

The Pain in Spain Falls Mainly on McCain
By Lisa Abend Thursday, Sep. 18, 2008

You gotta feel for José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. Here the Spanish prime minister is only four months from an end to his government's strained relations with that of President George W. Bush and blam! ??? along comes John McCain to suggest the next four years might not be any better. During an interview in Miami earlier this week with Spanish-language station Union Radio, a reporter asked McCain whether, if elected, he would receive Zapatero in the White House. McCain answered, "Honestly, I have to analyze our relationships, situations, and priorities, but I can assure you that I will establish closer relationships with our friends, and I will stand up to those who want to harm the United States

Ouch. The question about Zapatero came after a series of questions on how McCain sees relations with Venezuela, Bolivia, and Cuba. He said he would not speak to Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez "without any sort of preconditions, as Sen. Obama has said he would," and said Chavez was "depriving his people of their democratic rights." He judged Bolivia's Evo Morales as "very similar" and similarly condemned Cuba's Raul Castro. When the questioner said, "Now let's talk of Spain" and asked whether he'd invite Zapatero, McCain responded with a vague statement that he would meet "with those leaders who are our friends" and then cited Mexican president Felipe Calderon as an example. The questioner tried several more times to steer the Senator back to a clear answer on Spain, but he never directly addressed it, saying: "What I would say is that my record is that of someone who has worked in a friendly atmosphere with those who are our friends and faced up to those who aren't."

Once again you twisted what I said, which was you are posting the story out of context. You are pulling individual lines out of the story to make a point that agrees with your position. In the following paragragh of the story Sen. McCain is quoted to say

"Zapatero is a center-left politician, but McCain has suggested that as president he would seek to repair relations that have been badly frayed in Europe during Bush's tenure. In an early-April interview with a reporter from Spanish newspaper El Pais, McCain said, "This is the moment to leave behind discrepancies with Spain."

He added: "I would like for [President Zapatero] to visit the United States. I am very interested not only in normalizing relations with Spain but in obtaining good and productive relations with the goal of addressing many issues and challenges that we have to confront together."

My arguement to you is if you are going to try and make a point be honest with what you post. Don't cherry pick the points you like and disregard what you don't be honest with you arguements and if you can't don't challenge people to call you on it and get pi$$ie when they do.

I always research comments that interest me and I ALWAYS read the entire articles, if there is not a link listed I ask the poster for that information. People need to take some responsibility for their lack of information.

Again here I can agree with you. Most people don't want to be bother with find out the facts. I put the blame squarely on the educational system. I don't know if you have kids but I has a special need son (he has CP) in his freshman year of college and a sixth grade daughter. Both were/are required to pass SOLs (Standards of Learning) tests. Now these kids are not school in how to think through a problem or reseach an answer. They are/were schooled in what is on the test and how to pass it so the schools meet thier test score requirements to ge funding. So, over a period of time you end up with adults who don't know how to think through a problem, or do reseach on an issue to know what is going on. As a career I am a Sr. Network Engineer. I specialize in designing and building computer networks which has blessed me with the chance to travel to other country and see just how lucky we are but I digress, so 90% of my job revolves around doing reseach and preparing papers. I see everyday Jr. engineers that do not have the faclities to do either. So don't be surprised by people not wanting to do the work required of them by a free society when they haven't been required or instructed to perform in that manner.

So then how could you possibly be interested in electing a woman to Veep who believes the Bible offers sounder science than CERN, the CDC or CalTech? I'm a teacher, and I constantly see kids who are too young to have a lot of homework INUNDATED with the stuff to prep them for the arrays of standardized test they will eventually have to take. It's sad.

No, once a gain your wrong. In her latest interview aired last night she stated that having a father that was a science teacher she has great resect for the teaching of evolution in schools and that should not be changed. Creationism has a place but not in the schools. She has said nothing in any public forum that I am aware of that would support your point.

In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, the soon-to-be governor of Alaska said of evolution and creation education, "Teach both. You know, don???t be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it???s so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both."

All we need is someone like her in office and the boundaries between church and state will disappear. Perhaps you think that's a good thing; I don't know.

Once again your cherry picking your facts to make your case. I the same article that you quote she continue on to say and I from the AP article dated Sept. 3 "I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum," she said.Palin said during her 2006 gubernatorial campaign that if she were elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add creation-based alternatives to the state's required curriculum, or look for creationism advocates when she appointed board members.

CNN at least make attempt at being balanced after the beating they took during the Clinton years. The NY Times hasn't learn that lesson yet. Thier op-ed writers tend to be so far to left that it is hard to take the serious. For new I try to stay with news services like AP and Rueters. They seem to do a good job of keep it fair and maintaining a balance in thier articles. I have no problems with your opinions, I true honor a fair and balanced debated on facts and positions. That is one of the reasons that the USA is the greatest country in the world because we CAN have these disagreements on who is best to lead this nation. All I want is if people post something be fair about it. Don't just post what make your position stronger without being true to the context of how the story is write. This is not just for those on the left but on the right also. Myself I like to think of myself as right of center. Both parties have good ideas, I know I'll get push back from someone about that last statement. But, no matter who gets elected (in my case in hope McCain because I agree with more of him positions than Obama's) we are going to need the best ideas FROM BOTH parties to fix mess this country is in from the last 16 years of mismanagement form BOTH parties.

Your absolutely right both parties have good ideas. It's just a pity that partisanship take priority to actually helping the American People.....that's the big reason why I'm not supporting the Dem's this year.
They took a golden opportunity in 2006 and have done absolutely nothing with it. You wonder why the Dem in Congress have a lower rating than Bush now.

Hagee was, if you'll remember, the guy who said that Hurricaine Katrina was God's revenge for a gay pride parade. Is he ranting about Ike? He thinks war with Iran is essential so as to bring about Armageddon (when you can say bye-bye to the Jews). But he's a white Christian evangelical bigot, and therefore entitled to respect from the pundit class:

[W]hite evangelical Ministers are free to advocate American wars based on Biblical mandates, rant hatefully against Islam, and argue that natural disasters occur because God hates gay people. They are still fit for good company, an important and cherished part of our mainstream American political system. The entire GOP establishment is permitted actively to lavish them with praise and court their support without the slightest backlash or controversy. Both George Bush and the once Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert sent formal greetings to the 2006 gathering of Hagee's group.

By contrast, black Muslim ministers like Farrakhan, or even black Christian ministers like Rev. Jeremiah Wright, are held with deep suspicion, even contempt. McCain is free to hug and praise the Rev. Hagees of the world, but Obama is required to prove over and over and over and over that he does not share the more extreme views of black Ministers.

    • Posted By: neocon @ 09/19/2008 3:39:13 PM

      Background on Louie:

Farrakhan likened Obama to NOI founder Fard Muhammad, who also, like Obama, had a white mother and black father. ???A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,??? said Farrakhan. ???A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.??? On numerous occasions, Farrakhan has made alliances with avowed foreign enemies of the United States. In January 1996, for instance, he formed a partnership with Libyan dictator Muammar Qadhafi, who pledged $1 billion to help Farrakhan develop a Muslim political lobby in the U.S. According to Libya???s official news agency Jana, Qadhafi announced: ???We agreed with Louis Farrakhan and his delegation to mobilize in a legal and legitimate form the oppressed minorities ??? and at their forefront the blacks, Arab Muslims and Red Indians ??? for they play an important role in American political life and have a weight in U.S. elections.??? The Jana story further stated that Qadhafi and Farrakhan had pledged to fight America from the ???inside.??? ???Our confrontation with America,??? said Qadhafi, ???was [previously] like a fight against a fortress from outside, and today [with the NOI alliance] we found a breach to enter into this fortress and confront it.???

    • Posted By: neocon @ 09/19/2008 2:59:50 PM

Based on words and deeds I would rather have Rev. Hagee in my living room than Rev. Wright and Farrakhan. Considering both Wright and Farrakhan have preached the overthrow of America.

If someone???s strong bias, prejudice or emotional attachment just makes it impossible for them to vote for Obama-Biden, then that is a real shame but maybe it just can???t be overcome. Even recognizing that John McCain is really out of touch with the people and with the problems and literally, like George W Bush, is focused on Special Interests and continuing policies that have and are failing all Americans; even recognizing that Sarah Palin could become president, if McCain-Palin were elected, and seeing that she is self-focused, extreme, bazaar, arrogant, aggressive and incapable; and even noting that they both are literally dishonest saying anything and everything they think will get them what they want, even to often copying whatever Obama says; even if someone???s conscience identifies all of those things and yet they still need to rationalize that Obama and Biden have faults too and they then try to build that into something more meaningful; then maybe the only rational and conscience driven thing for them to do is just not vote. The Bush-Cheney administration has left America with a whole lot that we desperately need to recover from and it actually has become more and more obvious that a McCain-Palin administration would very possibly be even worse. We, America, just can???t take that! If anyone does recognize the truth but still can???t overcome their resistance, for whatever reason, and just can???t vote for Obama-Biden, then they should follow their conscience and just not vote. That would be more responsible.

Biden's comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

When asked during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, whether he would "pursue the violations that have been made against our Constitution by the present administration", Biden answered in the affirmative.

"We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offence that's occurred," he continued, going on to praise congressional committees for the deliberate pace of their inquiries into alleged Bush administration misdeeds.

Members of Congress are "doing the right thing, they're not making false accusations about anything ??? they're collecting data, subpoenaing records, they're building a file", Biden said.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued --not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president -- no one is above the law."

Obama sounded a similar note in April, vowing that if elected, he would ask his attorney general to initiate a prompt review of Bush-era actions to distinguish between possible "genuine crimes" and "really bad policies".

"[I]f crimes have been committed, they should be investigated," Obama told the Philadelphia Daily News. "You're also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt, because I think we've got too many problems we've got to solve."

"What is true is the United States Congress is trying to preserve records on questions that relate to whether or not the law has been violated by anyone," Biden said, adding: "But, you know, there's been an awful lot of unsavoury stuff that's gone on. And the mere fact ??? that it occurred in a previous administration doesn't mean [a subsequent] Justice Department, if, in fact, there's evidence, shouldn't pursue them. "But I have no evidence of any of that. No one's talking about pursuing President Bush criminally."

Congressional Democrats have issued a flurry of subpoenas this year to senior Bush administration aides as part of a broad inquiry into the authorisation of torturous interrogation tactics used at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

Three Bush White House veterans have been held in criminal contempt of congressional committees for refusing to respond to subpoenas in an inquiry on the firing of federal prosecutors: former counsel Harriet Miers, former political adviser Karl Rove, and current chief of staff Josh Bolten. The battle over Miers's and Bolten's testimony is currently before a federal court.

Joe Biden is among America's biggest blow-hard liars...he pairs up with another, in The False One...Hussein Obama...aka...Barry Soetoro.

Biden is a repeat plagiarist...he was caught while in law school...and multiple times in his bid for POTUS in 1988...he had to withdraw, because of it.

His son, until last week was a Washington Lobby...AND accused of stealing millions from his hedge fund.

Biden who tragically lost his wife and child...EVEN LIED about that. There was NO DRUNK DRIVER involved...as he has said for years.

He did not come from a lower income family....His daddy was part owner of an airport...and a successful salesman in the oil industry.

Biden rarely speaks the truth about any issue...and his selection by Hussein, as running mate... is another example of The False Ones...multiple POOR decisions...AND, has cost Hussein any chance of winning.

Paying higher taxes is being patriotic???...SURE....he wouldn't have went far in 1700's politics...he would have been tossed over...along with the tea.

Mr. McCain, who has been on a steady search for support among conservative and evangelical leaders who have long distrusted him, said he was "very honored'" by Mr. Hagee's endorsement. Asked about Mr. Hagee's extensive writings on Armageddon and about what one questioner said was Mr. Hagee's belief that the anti-Christ will be the head of the European Union, Mr. McCain responded that "all I can tell you is that I am very proud to have Pastor John Hagee's support.'"

Notice the "been on a steady search" part. If Obama had actively sought Farrakhan's endorsement, his campaign would be over.

In response to your post....Pastor Hagee is far from Louie F. and his bow-tie bandits....and The False One has LONG had the support of Louie.

Farrakhan is a goofball mohammed, who spends his spare time, flying around in a spaceship, with Ellijah Mohammed.....Hagee is a minister of the gospel, of The Risen Christ...Farrakhan supports the destruction of Israel...Hagee is among her strongest supporters...Louie F. is a Race baiting hater...Hagee is pastor, of one of our nations, most ethnically diverse churches...Louie F. openly defends and supports radical Islam and its leaders...Hagee rejects the death cult, for what it is....Louie is a disgrace...Hagee is a blessing....and bottom line is this...

Hussein Obama is a CROOK and a FRAUD...John McCain is a decent and honorable American Hero.

Ronald Reagan was a Governor...Al Capone was a community organizer.

A mohammed in the White House???...God forbid...and He has.

    Ban on Hunting Ammunition
In 2005, Senator Barack Obama voted in favor of legislation sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) that would have banned nearly all rifle
ammunition used for hunting and sport shooting. This position puts Obama squarely at odds with over 75 percent of likely voters.
ATI-News/Zogby asked likely voters: ???Do you support or oppose legislation to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting
    and sport shooting????
Seventy-seven percent of likely voters said they oppose legislation to ban such commonly used ammunition, while only nine percent said they would
support such a ban. A strong majority of Democrats (58 percent), Republicans (92 percent) and Independents (84 percent) all oppose the
ammunition ban that Obama supported ??? as do 79 percent of military families. (This nationwide poll of 3,825 likely voters was conducted August
27-29 and has a margin of error +/- 1.6 percentage points.)
???This is just another example of how Obama???s extreme position on basic Second Amendment freedoms runs counter to the beliefs of most Americans,??? said O???Leary.
    Self-Defense
As an Illinois State Senator in 2004, Barack Obama voted against legislation that protects citizens, who use firearms in self-defense in
their home or business in spite of local gun bans, from prosecution. Here again, the Obama position is counter to that of most Americans.
ATI-News/Zogby asked likely voters: ???Do you agree or disagree that you have the right to use deadly force as a means of self-defense in your home, without having to retreat????
Eighty-eight percent of likely voters agree that they should have this basic right to self-defense, while only eight percent disagreed. An
overwhelming majority of Democrats (83 percent), Republicans (90 percent) and Independents (91 percent) all agree. (This nationwide poll of 974
likely voters was conducted August 15-18 and has a margin of error +/- 3.2 percentage points.)
???Why would Obama vote to make it more difficult for citizens to protect their homes, businesses and families from life-threatening criminal
attacks???? asked O???Leary. ???Americans need to question whether or not they agree with the ???change??? Obama could bring to their basic rights and
    freedoms.???

A majority of likely voters believe that Barack Obama's plan to raise taxes on businesses and the wealthy will make them worse off, according to a breaking ATI-News/Zogby poll.
The poll, which surveyed 1,008 likely voters nationwide and was conducted September 11-13, 2008, has a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.
ATI-News/Zogby asked likely voters: "Do you think that Barack Obama's plan to increase taxes on businesses and the wealthy will make you better or worse off?"
The results are astounding. Fifty-two percent of voters think Obama's tax plan would make them worse off, while only 36 percent think it would make them better off. A majority of Independents (52 percent) and women (51 percent) say "worse off" as do 25 percent of Democrats, and 22 percent of self-described Liberals. Surprisingly, 18 percent of Obama's own supporters said his tax plan would make them worse off.
In addition, a majority of voters in all regions of the country felt they would be worse off as opposed to better off, especially the swing state rich Central region (53 percent). Even 52 percent of young voters aged 18-29, a key voter group for Obama, feel they'd be worse off. A majority in every income group also felt they'd be worse off under Obama's tax plan, including a majority of those Americans making less than $25,000 per year.
"This poll clearly shows that a majority of voters, including Independents, women and lower-income Americans, think that if Obama's tax plan is put into effect it will cause them personal economic pain," said O'Leary.
ATI-News/Zogby also asked voters: "If Barack Obama is elected president and follows through on his plan to raise taxes on businesses and the wealthy, what do you think businesses will most likely do?"
An overwhelming majority of American voters (78 percent) replied that Obama's tax increases on businesses would be passed on to them in the form of price increases on goods, employee layoffs, and reduced wages. Only 13 percent think that businesses will pay the cost of Obama's tax increases out of their own pockets.
An incredible 64 percent of Obama's own supporters say that his plan to raise taxes on businesses will either result in increased prices for goods, reduced pay for employees, and employee layoffs, as do 76 percent of Democrats and 78 percent of women.
"Even those who plan to vote for Obama think that average Americans, not the wealthy, would suffer under his tax plan," said O'Leary. "Even lower-income Americans, who are the supposed beneficiaries under the Obama tax plan, reject the plan because they know that tax increases on businesses will be passed on to them in the form of higher prices on the goods they need, lower wages, fewer jobs and layoffs."

    Hey, HolyRoller...

Have you actually sat down and pondered precisely how awful John McCain would be for America right now? Haven't we alienated the world enough? Haven't we killed enough Iraqi children? Haven't we wasted enough time NOT doing anything solid to push back global warming? Haven't we gotten tired yet of our pathetic dependence on fossilized and liquified dinosaur crap? Are we collectively really that dim-witted that we don't see what the rest of the Western World sees about us?

Sure we are, when a disaster happens ANYWHERE in the world who is first in line to help? We are, even when they scorn us and attacks we help. How many countries have aided us with Katrina, Ike and so on? Why should I give a damn what France for example thinks of us? With one breath countries ask our help the and the next insult us. So why should we care?

Conyers Calls Out McCain Over Voter Suppression

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) responded Friday to recent media reports on the plans of the Macomb County Republican Party Chairman and others to use lists of residents of foreclosed homes to block their participation at the ballot box -- a voter suppression tactic called by some a form of "vote caging." Conyers called on John McCain to direct his supporters to stop the practice. The letter:

"The Republican Party has had a long record of blocking eligible voters from voting. In the past two Presidential elections, the country witnessed appalling efforts to limit voter participation in Ohio, Florida and throughout the country. It is beyond disgraceful that the Republican Party now seems to be targeting those who are suffering the most. It appears that individuals who can't recall how many houses they own don't understand how awful it is to lose your home to foreclosure, and don't know that you don't need to own property to vote in the United States of America. It should surprise no one that the people who gave us the worst economy since the Great Depression would now want to prevent those victimized by this economy from voting in the coming elections. Senator McCain needs to step forward now and halt the Republican Party's efforts to profit politically from the economic misery of others."

In 2007, Pastor Hagee delivered the keynote address to AIPAC during its annual conference in Washington. Earlier this year, Pastor Hagee endorsed the presidential candidacy of Senator John McCain. However, following revelations about the unorthodox theological views of Hagee, Senator McCain rejected the controversial endorsement. More recently, Franklin Graham and his father, Billy Graham, who are both Christian Zionists and strong supporters of AIPAC met privately with Senator McCain, a gesture that is tantamount to their political endorsement.

Many experts believe that President Bush's evangelical ideology influenced his approach to foreign policy. Some commentators have focused on the Islamophobic writings of President Bush???s namesake, Reverend George Bush, who was a cousin of one of the president???s ancestors who lived in the nineteenth century. Reverend George Bush authored , The Life of Mohammed, an antiquated rhetorical attack on the founder of Islam.

President Bush, Senator McCain and Governor Palin enjoy the warm admiration and gratitude of AIPAC, a lobbying group that is now becoming a focus in the Vice Presidential campaign because of the defining comments about the limits of its role in foreign policy made by Senator Joe Biden who is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

The list of people from the Clinton Administration and Obama???s campaign that became multi millionaires is impressive indeed from the FNMA and FMAC debacles. Former Obama campaign advisor Raines and Jamie Gorelick are but 2 names. It has been revealed that "improper" accounting methods were used over the years under their oversight and this resulted in their receiving over $100 MILLION in undeserved bonuses (Rains and Gorelik did not receive ALL the money but a good portion).

It is also a matter of record that John McCain proposed legislation to fix the severe problems he was aware of with these agencies and it was shot down by the Chris Dodd and the Democrats. It never made it out of committee. Chris Dodd, then the ranking member of the Banking Committee and now its chair, was in the middle of receiving preferential loan treatment from Countrywide Mortgage, one of the companies gaming the system in the credit crisis. Meanwhile, Barack Obama took hundreds of thousands of dollars from the lobbyists.

Johnson was succeeded at Fannie Mae by Franklin Raines. Raines had risen to vice chairman at Fannie Mae before leaving to be Bill Clinton's budget director, then returned to the top job. He took early retirement in 2004 amid an investigation into accounting irregularities, mainly involving subprime loans. Raines then went on to become a major advisor in Barack Obama's campaign.

Johnson and Raines were both "Friends Of Angelo," meaning that they got extremely favorable loans from Countrywide Financial at the direction of Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo. Johnson himself scored over $3 million in very, very favorable loans from Countrywide. Among the loans to Mr. Johnson, cited by the Wall Street Journal, were a $5 million home equity line of credit against a house in Ketchum, Idaho, a 5.25% loan of $1.3 million for a home in Palm Desert, Calif., and a 3.875% loan of $971,650 for a home in Washington, D.C. The interest rates applied for the first five years of the loans.

A third former Fannie Mae top exec might ring a few bells. Jamie Gorelick was the vice chairman from 1997 to 2003 (straddling both Johnson's and Raines' administrations) despite having no background in financing. During her tenure, she took home over $26 million dollars while Fannie Mae underwent a $10 billion accounting scandal. Gorelick had previously served in the Clinton Justice Department, where she was instrumental in constructing the "wall of separation" between foreign and domestic intelligence operations -- which kept the CIA and FBI from comparing notes on terrorist threats that might cross our borders.
