The day that Obama's "scorch earth" order went out, we see Palin's personal email hacked and posted on the internet.... Now this is from the party that went nuts whenever they think their personal privacy is invaded....

I can't wait until tomorrow and see what they came up with!

We cannot wait any longer for more failures in our financial system. Structures like the resolution trust corporation that dealt with the failed savings and loan industry were designed to clean up the system and worked. Today we need a plan that doesn't wait until the system fails. I am calling for the creation of the mortgage and financial institutions trust - the MFI. The priorities of this trust will be to work with the private sector and regulators to identify institutions that are weak and take remedies to strengthen them before they become insolvent. For troubled institutions this will provide an orderly process through which to identify bad loans and eventually sell them.

If that sounds familiar, it's exactly what Paulson told Wall St. today, before the 500 point rally.

Former President Bill Clinton has largely kept himself out of the public eye since his wife lost the Democratic primary to Barack Obama. However in a rare television interview tonight the former president called Republican presidential candidate John McCain ???a great man??? and praised GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin as an ???instinctively effective candidate.??? However, Clinton, said there could still be ???some unforeseen development,??? perhaps in the debates, he said, that could threaten a Democratic win.

On a day when Obama sought to convince voters that he???s best able to handle the economic crisis, the former president said it was his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY, who gave today ???the most detailed position.???

In an interview with CNBC???s Maria Bartiromo, Clinton, who has tried to put to rest rumors of tensions between himself and Obama said, ???I???ve never concealed my admiration and affection for Senator McCain. I think he???s a great man.

So who's advising Obama on housing policy these days?

Former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines, that's who.

Raines is one of the people principally responsible for the collapse of the giant and had been accused of manipulating the company's earnings. Also, according to an Associated Press article, Raines received low-rate loans from mortgage lender Countrywide Financial, a major seller of home loans to Fannie Mae.

In Golden, Colo., today, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., took credit for the stimulus package that passed earlier this year.

???In January, I outlined a plan to help revive our faltering economy,??? Obama said, ???which formed the basis for a bipartisan stimulus package that passed the Congress.???

    Is that true?

Democrats on Capitol Hill who support Obama say no.

Wanting Obama to win, however, none will say so on the record.

FEDERAL HOUSING ENTERPRISE REGULATORY REFORM ACT OF 2005 ??? (Senate - May 25, 2006)

McCain: American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole. I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation

???These two entities ??? Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ??? are not facing any kind of financial crisis,??? said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ???The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.???

Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina, agreed.

???I don???t see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing,??? Mr. Watt said.

Where did the Bill go? It lingered in the Senate???s Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Ordered to be reported with an amendment in the nature of a substitute favorably - on July 28th, 2005. Then??? it died!

One of the most prominent members of the Committee (and its current Chairman) was Senator Dodd (Democrat, from Connecticut). As we learned over the last couple of weeks, Senators Dodd and Obama turned out to be the biggest recipients of Fannie's and Freddie's gifts. It is obvious to anyone not ruled by emotions, it is obvious to anyone using logic and intellect, anyone capable of reading, understanding and sifting through all the boring details, that the economic policies revealed so far by the good Senator from Illinois are a harbinger of unmitigated disaster, if implemented.

In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow a economist named bob proctor who has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown ,and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
Is terrifying. He thinks it could get worse then the great depression.
Banks in the US are going under one after the other. Country wide the largest morgage bank in the world
Bear Stearns and Lehman brothers , and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms.
And now Fanny and Freddy which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The goverment took them over because they are essentially bankrupt.
If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash
And we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before
The future of these companies will fall into the hands of our next president
Lehman, Merill Lynch, and Bear Sterns have survived for over 150 years and survived even the great depression
They are important because the are the biggest engines of growth in america and
they are connected to almost everything.
The last time the real estate market numbers looked this bad was during
The great depression and real estate often leads the way into major economic recessions.
Bush just like Mcain doesn't understand the economy.
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix itHe does not understand exactly what is broken. Its no surprise that he doesnt. The people that make up these securities use complex math models very few people understand. They are basically bundles of thousand of loans some good and some bad that are then given rules based on complex math. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this, and the same things bush and mcain have done for the last 8 years
Have not worked so far and wont work in the future.
if you do what you have always done then you will do get what you have always got
90 percent of the time they have voted the same.
Please don't just take my word for it Start to read up on some of this yourself. MSN money, elliot wave and, bloomberg Have tons of articles That prove we are in the heading into one of the worst economies any one has ever seen. So why are the polls even close then ?
The chairman of mcains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues
they vote on a personality composite which means. He is trying to sell personality instead of results. He believes people will vote against there own self interests.
Lets teach him we are smarter then that and elect the ticket that can
bring us back from the brink of a economic abyss.Mcain admits in the year 2008 he cannot use a computer even to send email. It impossible then that he understands how to help us. its time to wake up now while it will still help

Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment.

McCain is the only one running for President, claiming that only he can fix the economy and accusing Wall Street & the Washington Good Ole Boys Club of Greed.

I always get a kick out of it when McCain mentions the Good Ole Boys Club as if he has not been a card carrying member for almost 30 years.

McCain is the only one running for President, claiming that only he can fix the economy and accusing Wall Street & the Washington Good Ole Boys Club of Greed.

Well Obama has to the best of my knowledge not commented about Wall st as of yet. Maybe that's because hes take more that 3 million dollars from the st. in campaign money? Or about the club of greed with his 760 mil in earmarks in 3 years for his friend? Could be, maybe I don't know.

The whole senate is a good old boys club. It doesn't matter which party they belong to. I would love to see term limits for congress 2 terms for senates and 6 for congress. That would go a long way in solving many of the problems we see today.

SEPTEMBER 18, 2008 Obama Needs to Sell Himself,
    Not Attack McCain
    By KARL ROVE

Be careful not to assign too much scientific precision to polls. They arent as accurate as portrayed. But SEVERAL different SURVEYS at roughly the SAME TIME that SHOW SIMILAR RESULTS are useful guides. So three trends in recent polls MUST WORRY Sen. Barack OBAMA and encourage Sen. John McCain.

First, an AVERAGE OF SEVEN NATIONAL POLLS the week before the Democratic convention showed Mr. Obama leading Mr. McCain by two points. By the middle of the next week, Mr. Obamas lead had climbed to almost eight points. Now, nearly two weeks later, Mr. McCain has a lead of roughly two points. Since the middle of the GOP convention, ONE OUT OF EVERY 10 voters has CHANGED THEIR PREFERENCE . . . a significant movement this late in the campaign.

That movement comes, in part, from GAINS Mr. McCain has made on personal LEADERSHIP attributes. In the latest Washington Post/ABC poll, for example, he LENGTHENED HIS LEAD on the question of who would be a BETTER COMMANDED-IN-CHIEF (he is now AHEAD BY 45 points). He is also seen as the STRONGER LEADER, and as the MORE HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY candidate. Meanwhile, Mr. Obama saw his lead on who would BRING needed CHANGE DROP by 20 points.

The same survey found that 48% of Americans consider Mr. OBAMA UNQUALIFIED FOR THE PRESIDENCY, virtually unchanged from 46% in March and June. When Fox News asked voters whom they would ask for ADVICE FOR THE TOUGHEST DECISION in their life, voters favored Mr. MCCAIN by a 50% to 34% margin.

There is a similar pattern on issues. Both the Fox News and Washington Post/ABC polls showed Mr. MCCAINs advantages GREW ON TERROR, IRAQ and UNEXPECTED MAJOR CRISIS. . . while he ERASED Mr. OBAMAs EDGE ON ENERGY, and CUT THE DEMOCRATs LEAD on both the ECONOMY and the DEFICIT to acceptable levels.

Perhaps most surprising of all, FIVE RECENT NATIONAL POLLS have shown a significant tightening in party identification, ERODING a big LEAD Democrats have enjoyed since 2006.

How durable are these changes? We dont know. But OPINIONS SOLIDIFY as an election approaches, and this one is now only 47 DAYS AWAY.

    More . . .
