Obama stopped dying his hair just to look older and "wiser/experienced" for nothing.

      I noticed that too.

I agree with Donna100 -- Newsweek is the Obama outlet for the campaign -- If you say Mac and O are tied, McCain must be really doing well. Gallup has had McCain up on Obama since the Republican convention by from 2 to 5 points. The big change is what is happening to the chances of Dems lower down on the ticket -- they are getting hammered. In my western state, Democrats are struggling more than ever.

McCain/Palin got a bump due to the "newness" factor but as more and more people realize that Palin is unequivocally unqualified to be VP or (help us all) President the tide will return to a resounding Obama lead. Thanks, but no thanks to McCain/Palin. I'll take the VP with years of experience and who is Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, has written major legislation to help protect women from violence and to put more than 100,000 more police officers on the streets. While she will not be elected herself, I also like that his wife, Jill, has a PhD in Education.

    • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 09/13/2008 10:49:59 AM

Yep, keep the experience argument going because Barack Obama's executive experience looks like running a campaign during the most "sure thing" cycle the Democrats have seen in my lifetime and totally pooching it.

Meanwhile, as an executive, Sarah Palin delivered the goods for her constituents in Wasilla and then took on Big Oil and won for all Alaskans. Obama's trajectory has peaked and is falling. Sarah Palin is still shooting straight up.

      I'm going with McCain/Palin.

    • Posted By: Jmon @ 09/12/2008 10:11:42 PM

So you would rather have a vice-president with expierence and a president with none whatsoever, but not an experienced president with a record of being independent and an inexperienced VP. Seems like a very big and foolish double standard to have considering Obama probably knows no more about foreign policy than Palin and he will actual being in command on day one.

      • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/12/2008 10:17:40 PM

Sorry, but I respectfully disagree that voting with Bush 90% makes McCain an Independent. Obama is ready to lead on day one and lead in the right direction.

        • Posted By: JohnPolitico @ 09/12/2008 11:51:50 PM

          ThinkingBeing,

RE: "I respectfully disagree that voting with Bush 90% makes McCain an Independent."

I just don't get this argument/statement. McCain voted the party-line 90% of the time. Because that's what most Republicans do.

What's Obama's percentage? How many times did he vote the liberal party-line? I'm quite sure it's just as high ... or high! Bottom line: most politicians, (Democrats & Republicans) vote the party-line. So what's your point here???

          • Posted By: prettysmoke @ 09/13/2008 8:33:19 AM

Seriously? You really don't get it? That's how the GOP wins - they target the rich and the stupid. Sadly, there are more uneducated people in this country than educated, hence the issue over education (yet another reason Americans lose their jobs to more foreign workers.) The point is, if McCain is going to hijack Obama's campaign motto of CHANGE, we'd like to see his potential for it. 90% Bush = no change.

          • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/13/2008 12:04:05 AM

RE: "Because that's what most Republicans do".

If you anyone feels that Bush has lead this country in a good direction then that 90% voting agreement probably doesn't bother them. I personally feel the horrible decline of almost all markers of standard of living under this administration is disgraceful and I feel that decline has been lead primarily by Bush policy. So, for me, anyone who went along with it 90% of the time isn't going to get my vote.

We're falling behind and we need a forward thinking leader to help get us going in the right direction not more of the same. I believe that's Obama/Biden.

ThinkingB, beside this screwed up war, give me one or two examples of where McC has voted with bad judgement. Being a Dem, it shouldn't be that difficult.

              • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/13/2008 12:52:58 AM

No, not difficult at all. At a quick glance how about:
HR 5010 voted no against the 2003 Dept of Defense appropriations which was I feel was needed to support our military financially and medically. It was passed 95-3. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 which passed 85-12 and included these key elements:
                - $13.94 billion to the Secretary of Energy to carry out research, development and commercial activities under the Office of Science, including $1.11 billion for the ???Fusion Energy Sciences??? program

                - $3.27 billion over five years to create a sustainable hydrogen supply, to advance fuel cell technology, to fund commercial demonstration programs, and to develop a code of safety standards

                - $2.23 billion for research, development and commercial applications of renewable energy in the forms of solar power, geothermal energy, wind power and hydropower

                - $1.25 billion over 10 years to finance the ???Next Generation Nuclear Plant Project,??? a two-phase plan to research, develop and operate a prototype nuclear plant that includes a reactor capable of generating electricity, producing hydrogen, or both

                - $1.8 billion over nine years for the ???Clean Coal Power Initiative???

Personally, I would have voted for these two measures. I had respect for McCain as a person until he started saying so much that just isn't true. BTW, no fair excluding the war as an example of bad judgement. It is the most important one.

                • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/13/2008 1:06:33 AM

BTW, Obama voted for that energy bill as I would want the person that I'm voting for to have done.

                  • Posted By: bojack27 @ 09/13/2008 5:06:05 AM

Isn't this the same energy bill that gives tax incentives to the rich in which Obama opposes and sites McCain for giving tax incentives to the rich.... yet McCain didn#t vote for this bill because it had pork in it and Obama did vote for this bill and is now complaining about giving tax incentives to the rich.... It is the same old thing... say one thing and do another with Obama.... GET REAL!

                    • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/13/2008 8:18:17 AM

They are not pork-laden bills nor giving tax incentives to the rich. They were honest attempts to fund our military and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 09/12/2008 11:30:54 PM

Ditto. McCain=Bush... this is why he loses in Nov.

      • Posted By: PaulStewart @ 09/12/2008 10:43:17 PM

Obama has a great deal of experience. Just saying he does not does not make your wish come true. He is also, and more importantly, made from the right stuff. Morally, mentally, and yeah, even genetically. And he has the best life experience to understand where Americans are coming from .

        • Posted By: Jmon @ 09/12/2008 11:58:44 PM

I don't know you mean by 'genetically', but I still support McCain because of his record. I know he voted with Bush 90% of the time, but he has had a record of challenging his base, i.e. McCain-Feingold Act and his global warming stance. Obama sided with his party 98% of the time. That's not change, that's more of the same from a party that controls a Congress with a much lower approval rating than the president. I don't care for Palin, but she is definetly not Dick Cheney and will most likely be kept behind her desk doing nothing while McCain and Co. run the show. Simply put, McCain has proven he can be Commander-in-Chief, Obama has not.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 09/12/2008 11:52:05 PM

Second. McCain is the old status quo. He has done nothing during 8 years except to supp Bush 95% of the time.

  • Posted By: GregHere @ 09/13/2008 10:34:47 AM

..........................The Media has learned a new trick in taking positions agains Barack Obama in their publications. They have a selection of photographs of the candidates running and they purposely pick the bad picture of him when he does not look right. This editing is done to help McCain to show the 1 of 10 pick of him when he is not looking tired or is not scowling. McCain is the Corporate Media's man and they will use words, pictures or whatever they can to help McCain look good and help him win.

  • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/13/2008 9:11:37 AM

Hey guys, Newsweek is systematically deleting out all of the hateful & stupid arguments that Obama's supporters are posting.... it's about time that they get it, and it's a sign that they are really scared on the positive turn of public opinion for McCain

  • Posted By: prosoldier @ 09/13/2008 7:55:03 AM

Hmm...I served our country by serving most of my adult life in the Army. I've been to Canada and Mexico several times. I lived in Korea and Germany and traveled all over Europe whileI was there. I spent approximately 4 1/2 years of my service in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Israel, and Kuwait.

I didn't make much money, yet managed to raise 5 children, none of which have ever been in trouble with the law, been drug users, drink in excess (a couple are adults now), and I don't have any grandkids (planned or unplanned). I also managed to build up a bit of debt but formulated a plan to where I am now debt free and have a decent savings.

    Hell people, VOTE FOR ME!!!!!

    • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/13/2008 9:02:57 AM

hmmmmm..... NO!.. you stupid white trash, what are you working so hard for???? If you are smart like the rest of us.... all we have to do is sit back, relax, get on welfare, *** out a bunch of kids to get more welfare money... and look... we don't have any debts and we got way more kids than you do... see?

  • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/13/2008 8:56:06 AM

Seriously, what are you smoking?? The Hollywood crowds are not rich??? Majority of welfarers and convicts vote Obama and they are the smart one???

Americans lose their jobs because they are not competitive. The point is the majority of the American people now believe that McCain will change for the better, where as, Obama will change this country into a socialist state.

By the way, I'd love to have some of whatever that you are smoking....

  • Posted By: vstillwell @ 09/13/2008 1:33:23 AM

I just pray McCain get's elected. I love recessions and huge defecits. I love it when Republican presidents lie to me. It makes me feel special. I say let's invade a few more countries. Hell, let's start a war with Russia and see if they'll really launch the nukes. Remember, we're all Georgians. Let's just get every country on earth into NATO. Article 5 baby. Prime the nukes. The Air Force needs something to do anyways. The Army and the Marine Corp. are getting all the glory. Who needs sound and honest leadership when you've got Bush and McPalin. You can't say McCain without saying Palin too. They're redifining the presidency. It's now President A and President 1A. Palin's got to much power now to defer to McCain. Poor guy. Should have picked a fat chick. When they get elected, she'll be looming over him like the grim reaper hoping he kicks the bucket. Oh my, we're in for one hell of ride. Buckle up everyone McPalin's taking Washington!

A shocking and revelatory op-ed in today's Seattle Post--ntelligencer exposes that, despite his claims for "equal pay for an equal day???s work," Barack Obama pays the women in his own U.S. Senate office:

    ???
"83 cents for every dollar the men make???

In stark contrast, John McCain pays the women in his U.S. Senate office:

"$1.04 for every dollar a man makes"

There???s more proof of Obama's unequal treatment of women, despite his lofty rhetoric to the contrary: "Among Obama???s five best-paid advisors, only one was a woman. Among his top 20, seven were women."

And so-called "feminists" support this clown.

    NOBAMA!!!

Obamabots: McCain is going to win in an electoral landslide. Remember this moment. Look at the time displayed on your computer. See it? Look at the date. What day is it? Remember.

This is the exact time you realized Obama is going to lose. On Nov 5th you will recall that you read the future right here, right now: McCain wins in an electoral landslide.

You will remember that you secretly felt it, even then.
And then you will want to forget.

pumapurr, McCain loses in a landslide..His little bible toting hypocrite loses her luster soon.. Btw-my birthday is Nov.5..I've always had good luck on my b'day... in 1999 I won an $800,000 lawsuit.

If you really think about this, has there ever been any candidate who actually was qualified to be President when they assumed the office? I can't think of anyone. Just exactly are the qualifications for being he President of the United States? As far as all these so called polls go, who really cares, it's really just another New's gimmick. Anyone who votes because of a poll number has to be an idiot!

  • Posted By: kittykat9 @ 09/12/2008 10:20:36 PM

Obama is just not a boat rocker, he is not a mover and shaker, he voted present over 100 times, and now that is weak. He got into the senate in Ill. By getting his mentor kicked off the ballot, he had his name put on all kinds of bills to make it look like he knew what he was doing. He was in the senate for only 143, can you say inexperience.

  • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/12/2008 10:02:31 PM

From a balance budget with a surplus, a strong economy to a deficit of $9,675,307,195,184, job loss and decreased wages. (Your share of that is close to $32,000.) And yet Republicans continue to tell you they are the fiscally responsible party and people continue to fall for it. THINK! McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time by his own admission. Your vote has real consequences.

  • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 09/12/2008 9:50:53 PM

Looks like MI & FL votes will actually count in the general and bite Obama on the the a$$. Looks like the DNC, Howard Dean and Donna Brazile's plan to squeeze out Hillary is going to backfire. Hillary with (with VP Obama) could have beaten McCain with no problem. Obama lost a 15 point lead over McCain and McCain is beating Obama at his own game. Looks like the country is ready for a woman Prez/VP and it should have been Hillary - the woman WITH experience. Looks like McCain is is getting back to his old independent self and will pick up the milions of independents Obama was counting on getting. Obama is going to need each and every Dem and all the new registered Dems just to break even.

  • Posted By: Tea6 @ 09/12/2008 9:16:18 PM

I trust a black man like Obama to look after American workers more than McCain. Blacks are usually the last to be hired so they understand the need for job growth in America, unlike McCain.

McCain has no interest in economics or trade. His economic policy is controlled by business elites who have no loyalty to this country. He probably does not even realize what he is doing. He is like Ulysses Grant, the President who let business take over the government. He and his Beverly Hills Barbie Doll wife do not care about average Americans.
