the Trooper should have been fired. He tasered a 10 year old kid and then bragged about it . hshould have been charged with child abuse

Police, prosecutors, judges and juries do not tolerate interference by elelcted politicans. Got it?

You sound as though you've appeared in front of a judge or two.

    There is no scandal.
Obama is directly behind this, people. He's just another corrupt Democrat who doesn't like women getting into his spotlight. Besides, why would believe anything you read in one of Obama's magazines? They've made no secret of the fact that they work for Obama.

All of the events in the article happened even before Obama became a U.S. Senator. As for Palin's Troopergate problems, she created those before she even joined McCain's campaign.

Palin causes her own problems and is bringing McCain into them.

Use your heads people. The trooper used a taser on Palin's nephew, he shot a moose illegally when he was on the wildlife enforcement team. he was seem numerous times drinking beer in his patrol car at the same time he was on MADD commercials. He's been suspended and should have been fired. Take a look for yourself http://media.adn.com/smedia/2008/07/21/16/Wooten_suspend_letter.source.prod_affiliate.7.pdf and stop listening to these slanted reports.

And you proof of this is..? Where? What the right doesn't like is when they get called on the truth and since the Bush campaigns (both father and junior) and now the McCain campaign MAKE UP STUFF about the other candidates, then when the truth catches up with them they whine about "the liberal media".

It's ironic to me how McCain, who had his record spat upon by the Bush campaign in 2000 is now using the same tactics against Obama. If McCain didn't vet his VP candidate throughly, then don't call the media "biased" for doing their job. You'd not be hearing any of this if McCain had chosen an honest candidate for VP.

And we have to remember every time Palin is caught in a lie = McCain is caught in a lie because he seems to endorse and back everything she says, so, of course, exposing her lies exposes him as a liar as well. So why be criticized for keeping the focus on Palin when she's the one telling the lies here and he just sits back and lets it happen.

Obama must have had an awakening due to his cacaine problem. if elected will he legalize it to hold down prison population. after all less convicted felons=more votes for dems.

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/14/2008 7:43:24 PM

Any chance of you 'awakening' before November 4th? Americans don't care to hear your first-hand stories about 'cacaine' in prison so save it for your buddies.

People! In our earlier days we use to call the tactics that McCain/Phalin are useing Flim Flam. Seems it always originates out of the Republican side of the government though. No I'm not a Democrat but I would say my peace and tell it like it is what ever party is running. Don't let these two get into office. After all the people that are behind them is the Bush yes men and we all know that THEY will run the country not McCain/Phalin.

  • Posted By: cerrojim @ 09/14/2008 1:22:04 PM

Is Sarah Palin George Bush in disguise? All the petty firings, the secrecy, stacking jobs with her buddies, kowtowing to any and all right wing special interests, ignoring as much work as possible, attacking anyone who disagrees with them ... no, not just attacking, but calling them enemies, traitors, or worse. If you don't think McCain/Palin is just more of the same, you are an idiot. McCain has sold his soul to the devil ... oh, excuse me, the GOP is God's party ... not.

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/14/2008 7:17:30 PM

Not to mention Palin saying the USA might get into a war with Russia over Georgia or The Ukraine. Thanks but No Thanks.

what alarms me is the level of involvement y her husband in STATE affairs. i cant tell if she is the governor or he is. why is he taking trips and getting paid by taxpayers ....why is he even getting emails regarding official state business ...why is he making calls and getting involved in state issues . her reformer platform has been put to bed for me ......millions of dollars to study mating of crabs ? hiring friends for state positions with no expierence . why do i get the feeling im going to get a your doing a great job moment with her . sorry nosale.

First Dude can answer questions when he testifies under subpoena to the Alaska State Legislature.

Pehaps Todd Palin will address the 'rumor' that Sarah Palin had an 'affair' with Todd Palin's former business partner. Peyton Place in Wasilla, Alaska? Say it ain't so.

It really is a shame that the media has to do the vetting on this lady and bring to light many issues of major concern that she has created. Seems the problem is that fear is a very big factor behind Palin and her power.

Had Biden or Obama ben found have had these types o prolems and we certainly know that they have both had to explain alot abot their past, particularly Obama they woudl not be the democraic runners.

In my 25 plus years of voting I don't belive I have ever encountered the fact that we have nominated someone whos character is so questionable. Worse yet, we have only seen the tip of the iceburg, I do remmeber as a kid livin near DC when Nixon was impeached though and how ashamed I was for our country.

I have never felt she was genuine from the get go. I hope enough people in this country start thinking how Big Brother may have more knowledge and control than you ever imagined if McCain and Palin are elected into sch psoitions of POWER. Se for one I have no doubt will misuse it , just like Cheney has but I believ with more ferocity .

People with Power and little knowledge are dangerous so wake up, think and vote to save our nation, beacuse each and eeryone of us regardles of gender, race religion, and background will pay the price, perhaps for the elite few unless they cross her too.

Obama and Biden and the rest of the DNC you need to fight the good fight for all Americans,

Even Karl Rove is now on record criticisizing the McCain - Palin lies at too much.

And, then there is the Palin cronyism and corruption. Will she be indicted before the election?

  • Posted By: chillfour@yahoo.com @ 09/14/2008 6:52:30 PM

Sounds like Palin fits right in with the republican brand of governing. She and McCain make a great team of liars who have no qualifications to be proud of. Palin is turning out to be a pretty face with the meanness of a tasmanian devil.

  • Posted By: floridawoman @ 09/14/2008 6:50:59 PM

To sit back and not expose when a person who is positioned to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency, how she keeps on campaigning to be someone she's not, a maverick who would never try to bamboozle us, but who would expose the bamboozling instead, now that's just asking to be bamboozled and Americans should just say not this time. We got bamboozled into Iraq and now they're trying to bamboozle us into believing Pain is someone she's not.

Why is it, when a liberal fire someone it's called courage. When a conservative fire someone is called crime.

As mayor and the governor Palin has the right to fire whoever she wants. Especially if they are working against the wishes of her constituents. Also, the police chief was trying to enforce his policy. He was out of bounds. If he wants to do that he can be elected mayor and enforce his own policies and fire whomever he wishes.

Don't be hypocrites. A liberal holding office would do the same in reverse. His or her constituents would hold him or her negligent if they did not.

It is true, however, that Sarah Palin's weaknesses are that she is white, believes in gun rights, hunting, is pro-life and likes to work 18 hours a day. Certainly, these shortcomings invalidate her as a vice presidential candidate.

Sarah Palin when she was Mayor of Wasilla lobbied for her brother-in-law to be hired as an Alaska State Trooper.

The Alaska State Legislature has unanimously agreed to investigate Palin. So much for 'liberal' and 'conservative' poppycock.

Palin does not have ''the right to fire whoever she wants. " Elected officials are sworn to a code of conduct.

Pro Life Palin? No way. Palin pictured with one of her young daughters next to a beautiful caribou that Palin had just slaughtered is pro NRA, not Pro LIfe.

Palin's lies and hypocrisy are indefensible. Palin's color is irrelevant.

  • Posted By: damienbrion @ 09/14/2008 6:31:11 PM

I seriously do have to give "McCane" credit though for selecting Palin because the tactic seems to be bamboozling many. That was a very intelligent move on his part. It has worked to perfection. I am glad that I am not one of the mindless followers who is being bamboozled.

  • Posted By: linderbru @ 09/14/2008 5:17:44 PM

To floridawoman: would it not be ironic if it came about that the trooper in question embodied everything that the women's movement worked so hard against.

    • Posted By: floridawoman @ 09/14/2008 6:26:18 PM

Whether or not the trooper deserved to be fired a long time ago when the facts surrounding it were fresh is a whole other issue. The point is Monegan comes off as someone simply trying to used his unbiased independent judgment in recognizing that these facts were already investigated, these facts were old and stale and her motivations were coming from wanting to score one for her sister long after the fact due to an ugly divorce. In reality, domestic abuse is reported as having gotten worse in Alaska since Palin has become governor of Alaska. In reality, this story just continues to expose Palin as someone unable to tell the truth about anything, even things that can be easily proven, whether it be this story or the Bridge to Nowhere.

  • Posted By: damienbrion @ 09/14/2008 6:23:37 PM

linderbru - If it was a liberal with the same credentials as a VP you would be scrutinizing them even more but like a true puppet the right wing have to back her and build her up wrong or right. She wasn't on the radar then all of the sudden the right wing says she was our first choice all along. Give me a break. What does it say about these individuals who follow blindly? It shames me that adults still act like children and act as if this is a homecoming king and queen vote rather than looking at the issues and how their vote will affect the future of our country. It's about survival now and not petty childish politics. That is why our country is in the mess that we are in now.

Talking About that women is a waste of time and effort. She's destroying herself, by herself, she doesn't need my help!!!!!!

The judge is a corrupt judge compromizing with Palin. They both were using their power to do such crimes. I believe that they committed treasons.and now need to be sentenced following their jail times. It is not the kind of people we, American citizens, need in the White House.

    Elizabethpage:

I'm pretty disappointed in Gibson for not calling her out on it. He should have been more prepared with the statements Monegan made right there, but he asks about such a critical issue while they're standing there casually, not even while she's on the hot seat, like by the way what about this Trooper Gate thing, and accepts a blatant lie in response.

Well, we may agree or disagree on the librarian issue. But when, by popular vote, a mayor or state governor takes office, and has the authorization to terminate another public official for ANY reason, that public official can complain all they want, but really has no recourse execpt to complain back to the general public who voted in that mayor or state governor. Note that the article mentioned above dates back to Palin's mayoral days. Don't you all think that the fuss now being raised is nothing more than more smoke-and-mirrors from those who don't agree with the first fresh breath of air on the political landscape for a very long time??? Palin, in my opinon, represents the vast moral majority, and if she choose to fire a police official for not doing their job, so be it. All I am hearing is a bunch of whining from those who got fired. Regarding her ex-inlaw, if he Was threatening Palin's sister, I'd be disappointed if she hadn't tried to get that person off law-enforcement duties. It doesn't matter if her family was involved or not. If a police officer is abusing their position and physically threating other persons, that police officer SHOULD be fired!!! This became a matter of Public Safety the moment her sister's ex made those threats. If the police officers supervisor wont do the the firing, then the supervisor goes also. It may look like political hoopala, but from a Public Safety view, appropriate.

Palin was married on August 29, 1988 and had a baby on April 20, 1989. Her teenage daughter is also pregnant outside of marriage.

The moral majority subscribes to the belief that sexual intercourse outside of marriage is a sin.

Palin believes that God's will is that females impregnated through rape or incest get on with it and have the baby,

Anyone who agrees with Palin's twisted version of God's will is neither moral nor in the majority.
