Try as they might, the McCain campaign is not going to hide this from becoming a flaw in her resume. She should have listened to that judge years ago, and just dropped it. But small town politics got the best of her! Lie, Lies, and Lying are the same thing, and this is just one issue she has not been honest with the American people about. kyle keleher 27 daytona beach,fl

Typical Newsweek. No balance to the story. Rip Palin about her ex brother in law state trooper without mentioning he is accused of drinking and driving, poaching, and making death threats against Palin's family. Way to go Newsweek, Nice fair and balanced reporting.

I just cannot believe that so many would not vote for the democrat party because their candidate is black.... How retarded!
You people are really retarded.... Hellooooooo... This is the 21st century!! What does it matter you idiots???
This is a presidential election! We have to vote for the most intelligent, competent, experienced and the one who has the best diplomatic skills and wisdom and that is Senator Barack Obama!!
MC Cain has none of that and Palin even less!! I am so digusted with the right wing mentality.. It is a cave men mentallity!

93% of the blacks are voting for Obama. Do you think they all agree with his platform ? Most of them don't even know what his platfom is. So I wonder WHY are they voting for him ....HUH ?????

      • Posted By: Time for Change @ 09/13/2008 7:39:25 PM

The majority of blacks have always voted for the Democrat running for president, so your claim of blacks voting for Obama because of his skin color is false!!

How would you know if the blacks are informed of Obama's policies? You assume because Palin does not know Bush's Doctrine? Blacks visit Obama's website to find the facts just like everyone else.

Moveover, not many ever totally agree with any candidate's platform.

If this story is accurate, it's interesting that Gov. Palin opposes abortion on the one hand, while apparently resisting a proposal aimed at curbing drunk driving while she was married (i.e. bars closing a@ 2:00am in stead of 5:00am).

    • Posted By: fob@QUA7 @ 09/13/2008 7:35:34 PM

      OOPS! I meant mayor.

  • Posted By: fob@QUA7 @ 09/13/2008 7:33:52 PM

    oops mayor of Wasilla.

  • Posted By: fob@QUA7 @ 09/13/2008 7:28:04 PM

If this story is accurate, it's interesting that Gov. Palin on one hand states that she is pro-life when it comes to the issue of abortion, yet apparently resisted a proposal when she was Mayor of Wasilla that was aimed at curbing drunk driving (i.e. advocating that the bars in Wasilla stay open until 5:00am instead of closing @ 2:00am). This definately seems like a double standard to me.

This is another Bush-cheney, I nolonger believe in McCain who used to be an independent and now he has chosen another Idelogue Politician religious. I fast once a week I pray every day as a Christian believer but when I go to work I do not tell anybody what I have done. I am a military and I do not associate my believe to my military service. We oppose the Islam extremism why don't we oppose any religion extremism? Saran Palin is Christian extremist I do not see how he will differ to Bush.

I can't fit the whole article here but YOU NEED to read this at: adn.com (Anchorage Daily News. "System faulted for high Alaska Native rape rate AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL: Report says 1 in 3 women will fall victim to the crime and government is to blame."

I totally agree with candyland, I just don't think that any parent mother or father with a child with such severe special needs, should take any career that is going to keep them away from home as much as say being VP of the United States of America would. All children need love, time and attention from both parents. That is the way that God designed it. I don't doubt that Mr. Palin is a superdad, but I am certain one day these kids are going to say "mom is never at my soccer games" or " mom is never home to help me with my homework." Children, especially young children understand Mom and Dad. It doesn't matter what the situation, divorce, dead beat parent, work, etc. If a parent is absent the majority of the time, there will be a void in that child. I know that we are living in an age where "I can have it all" is a theme these days, However at some point when we begin creating and molding familes, have it all just doesn't apply and sacrafices have to made. Besides it's not as if she is in her 80's, she's young especially in the world of politics, and if she is as great a candidate as the RP is portraying her to be, she will certainly have a chance in the future when her children are older to run again.

    Re my post at 6:46:22pm

by the date of this article Sarah Palin had not seen the Amnesty International Report. Statistics show that rape has been on the rise year after year. She was governor by this articles writing. I can't believe she has not been aware of this issue.

The New York Times Destroys Palin
nytimes.com ??? It's as devestating an account of cronyism, incompetence, vindictiveness and corruption as is likely to be compiled about this fraud from Alaska. It couldn't be clearer: she'll be another Cheney if she get's elected as Vice President. http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/The_New_York_Times_Destroys_Palin

    Aril 25, 2007
One in three Alaska Native and American Indian women will be raped during their lifetime and it's the federal government's fault, an Amnesty International study reported Tuesday.

Federal authorities have created a "maze of tribal, state and federal jurisdictions" that slows response times and limits who can respond, according to the study. Sexual assaults and rapes on reservations and in villages sometimes get lost in "jurisdictional vacuums," allowing some perpetrators to "rape with impunity."

Please read the rest of this article. You will find that Sarah Palin had not addressed the rape problem in her state. With the rape statistics I can hardly believe she is apposed to abortion in the case of rape or insest. I'm starting to wonder if she dislikes women.

I believe Sarah Palin is a good mother and will take good care of Trig. I am worried about the Country and my children more than hers.

I like so many is sick of Palin face on my computer... Every morning I turn it on and there the cave woman shows up!! this woman cannot bring anything to this country! she was just a maire for god sake and a governor just for 2 years!! she knows nothing about laws, she is not a lawyer. Also, why would anyone want 4 more years of Bush?? What has Bush and his party done for you that was so great??? nothing!! and your are going for 4 more years of nothing!! I am leaving this idiotic society, at least I won't have pay for your deficit!!

Don't confuse Ind4Palin and the other Palin devotees with the facts.

  • Posted By: realistin08 @ 09/13/2008 5:53:40 PM

The disturbing thing about Palin is the pattern of behavior that is coming to light. She does not like when people disagree with her or cross her in anyway. This behavior may not be legally actionable, but it does bring up the question of her ethics. She seems quite power hungry and controlling. She also does not appear to be at all introspective or to take the input of others to come to concensus. Sounds a lot like our current president and that has not done this country any good at all.

Good point - we don't trust McCain either...

I am truly disappointed with the media!! I never knew how influential media can be in manipulating people's decisions. The media continues to say that this is not McCains campaign that it is Gov Palin's. However, it is the media who continues to bring her name up!! Why?? Because this is the only way right now, that their raatings go up. How pathetic is that? I admire Gov Palin, she represents the middle class working women. What an example of determination and strenght. My admiration and respect along with my vote go to Sen McCain and Gov Palin. GO McCAIN / PALIN ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE. AND WE MIDDLE CLASS WORKING WOMEN WILL HAVE YOU TWO.

I keep hearing how Palin is such a great mom and family person I have a question to discuss.
She just had a child with down syndrome and he is very little yet. As we know with diseases like this one
the child has alot to endure and so does the family. How can she even consider being Vice President when she has a child that may very well need alot of special attention from her and her husband. It will take extra attention for this child. I am not saying to give up your life for this child but this child will need her and I feel it is kinda being selfish. With all the traveling and time spent on our country where in her right mind does she think her family will fit in? Any thoughts on this

Given the distortions and fabrications put out by this woman, her staff and McCain's dishonorable surrogates on her behalf, I feel it is only fair not to give her the benefit of the doubt. This is the same lying woman who claimed to have visited Iraq. We know now that was a lie. We know she supported the bridge to nowhere before reversing course when it was clear it would fail in the congress. And we know she orchestrated a campaign of harassment against her brother-in-law that ultimately ended in the firing of the top cop when he refused to oblige her in Wooten's dismissal from the force. She is a vindictive Liar!
