Michael Isikoff and Mark Hosenball, missed on really fabulous gem which I saw in a press release that appeared in the Los Angeles Times on September 12. When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, the city billed victims of sexual assault for the rape kits and forensic exams saving the Wasilla tax payer from $ 300 to $1200. Wasilla was the only city in Alaska to do this. The practices stopped, only because Democratic representative Eric Croft was able to sponsor and pass a law forbidding cities from billing rape victims for rape kits. The biggest opponent of Croft???s law was Wasilla???s police chief Charlie Fannon, whom I assume Palin apponted in Stambaugh???s place.
I might add that keeping the bars open until 5 AM, only increases the chances of rape, since testosterone-crazed males, abetted by a couple of whiskeys, simply cannot take NO for an answer.
I have several questions. First what sort of human being would perpetuate this form of cruel and inhuman punishment? Furthermore, since Palin wears her religion on her sleeves, I must refer to the Book of James in the Bible, which clearly states that religious faith is measured only by one???s deeds. What sort of church does Palin belong to?
Finally, if we define Palin NOT by what she says, NOT by what she believes, but actually what she does, do we really want somebody like this as vice president?
