Good God, this woman makes out like Wasilla is a bad place to live, that's is why half of the people of Anchorage are moving to the valley. They needed growth in Industry and jobs, and still does. Do you think people love driving 34-50 miles each way to work and back? Families need a place for kids to go and meet others, Wasilla is a good place to live, we all are proud of our state and I for one am proud of the accomplishments our Governor has done. Ms. Coyne you still can't get your information right. Your journalism skills are not to be desired.

The Old Knik Landfill is beneath the Smith Ball Fields and Iditarod Headquarters across Lake Lucille from the Palin home. There was no cleanup of this dump and the toxins remain in the landfill. Children playing at the field drink water from a well drilled through the dump. As a self-proclaimed "soccer mom" how does Gov. Palin feel about children playing on this nearby toxic waste site? Do her children play at Smith Ball Fields?

Sarah Palin is a fraud. She was pregnant before she got married, has had an affair with one of her husband's friends, her 19 year old son is rumored to have serious drug problems, her 17 year old unwed daughter is pregnant, and she has used her political power to get even with people who disagree with her, yet all she talks about is being a "good Christian" and doing God's will. As a Christian she is a hypocrite who can not walk her talk, and as a politician she is completely unqualified to be Vice President. Her interview with Katie Couric showed her to be a woman with a disorganzied mind, a woman who is in over her head, utterly unprepared for the twist her fate has taken.
Even committed Republicans who support McCain have to ask themselves if they really would take the risk of putting our country into Palin's hands. Sure, being VP doesn't necessarily take a lot of skills, but being President requires great intelligence and a clear-eyed world view, one untainted by religious fanaticism. Look at the mess we got with the under qualified Dubya, and even he seems smarter and less fanatical than Palin. McCain is 72 years old, with high cholesterol and high blood pressure; his father and grandfather each died of heart attacks at age 72. McCain's Vice President HAS to be ready to lead. And by lead, I am not referring to a full speed charge into Armageddon.
For those of you who don't know, Palin belongs to a fundamentalist church that believes the end of the world is near: that war, financial distress and famine will kill off the sinful non-believers, and that when this holocaust occurs all good Christians will be taking refuge in Alaska. Furthermore, her church conducts witch hunts -- they actually use prayer to locate "witches" in their community, then publicly brand them as witches, and hold them responsible for everything that goes wrong in town. (Honestly, I think the long winters must be getting to their minds.) You can go on YouTube and watch videos of Palin participating during sermons like this. She stands on the altar facing the members. The congregation stands with outstretched hands, trancelike, speaking in tounges while the priest prays to "keep Sarah safe from all forms of witchcraft."
Could you REALLY feel comfortable knowing that a woman who holds these beliefs would have the power to declare war and deploy nuclear missles?

You spend a few days in Wasilla and you think you know what it was like to grow up here??? Wasilla has grown dramaticly in the last 26 years since Sarah Palin graduated from High School. Wasilla use to have more of a small town feel and those of us who went through school here know what it was like. So Amanda Coyne keep your ignorant oppions to yourself.

Okay, In contrast with the rest of Mr. Obama's life story, we know little about his college experience. He attended Occidental College in Los Angeles for two years before transferring to Columbia in 1981. In one of the articles in 2007, Brian Connolly,spokes person for the school, confirmed that Mr. Obama spent two years at Columbia College and graduated in 1983 with a major in political science. He did not receive honors. A program from the 1983 graduation ceremony lists him as a graduate. I believe this was the time OBAMA has admitted to experimenting with drugs. By the way his selection as the President of Harvard Law Review was not based on grades. And how did he get into Harvard Law School? I guess some equate BRAINS to being a LAWYER who talks a great game but has shown no meaningful contribution in the last 12 years. PRESENT.

In 2005, Senator John McCain cosponsored the Federal Housing Enterprise Reform Act to regulate the powers and procedures of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.
These 2 massive federal finance agencies had been operating without controls in a blatant irresponsible manner, and had been found guilty in court of falsifying financial records and statements in order to provide supposed justification for bonuses to be given to their higher echelon administrators.
These 2 organizations had been coerced by Democrats, who because of political opportunism, wanted them to grant mortgages to individuals who would be unable to make their required monthly payments. That would be in accordance with the irresponsible Democrat belief that everyone should be entitled to have their own home, irrespective of their actual ability to afford that luxury.
Both of these mortgage lending institutions have contributed massive financial sums to support the political aspirations of Chris Dodd and Barack Obama.
Senator John McCain realized 3 years ago that fraudulent transactions were rampant within these 2 enterprises, and that they would soon collapse if remedial action was not undertaken.
Their bankruptcy would result in the American taxpayers having to go into debt to resurrect or ???bail-out??? these fraudulent Congress protected entities.
As was to be expected, this proposal to institute meaningful financial reform measures was obstructed by the Democrats in the Senate, and the proposal failed to be adopted.
This year, due to the Democrat furor over the collapse of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, the American taxpayers are burdened by having to pay a minimum of 450 billion dollars to ???bail out??? these 2 recklessly managed lending companies.
John McCain exposed and opposed the corrupt lending practices of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.
Barack Obama ???milked the system??? and profited by obstructing reform of their corrupt lending practices.
Democrats have demonstrated that they can wreck the mortgage industry.
Are you willing to vote them into office, and give them a blank check to mismanage the American economy, security, and health care?-

"While Sarah was Mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respected City Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing from the library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residents rallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin's attempt at out-and-out censorship, so Palin backed down and withdrew her termination letter.
