The whole repub party sickens me. Between the bathroom sex, unjust wars, closed door meetings, torture, redistribution of wealth, failed foreign and domestic policies, the erosion of America's world standing, the spiraling debt, the dying economy, loss of jobs, housing collapse, deregulations, bailouts and just complete and overall failure at every thing they touche, you'd think the Repubs would just give up.

But, they're pitbulls with lipstick And an old man wearing panties. They're all a disgrace to this country and the world.

Republinists think they are above the law.

She won't speak cause the truth would end her pitiful little VP run and then McSame would have to talk about something of substance, of which he has none.

He can only memorize a few phrases at a time, like Palin.

Hopefully he'll stop staring at her ass and boobs long enough to realize what he is talking about next time.

Did this happen on Fox News?

KELLY: But you guys have suggested he's going to raise taxes on the middle class and virtually every independent analyst who took a look at that claim said that's not true. He'll raise it on people making $200,000 or $250,000, but not the middle class.

BOUNDS: Well, Megyn, you're giving him an enormous amount of credit for a guy who has voted only to raise taxes in the United States Senate. For now...for him to make a new claim...for him...now, keep in mind --

KELLY: No, no! Let's stay on point, I'm not giving him any credit. I'm saying what the independent analysts say. They say that claim is false. And if that's false, why would John McCain do that, Tucker? Why wouldn't he just level with the voters and say, look, he's going to raise taxes on the wealthy or whatever you consider somebody to be making over $250,000, it's going to have a trickle down effect. That may not be good for the middle class. But why say he's going to raise taxes on the middle class when he's not?

      I saw this on Countdown,

It is really sad when Fox News calls you out! By the way did you see the clip of Karl Rove criticizing McCain's ads as going too far? It was on MSNBC also.

Take it any you want dearie. I'm a nurse pactitioner and I work 50-60 hrs a week and I'm well compensated. I have a dirty mouth and I'm old enough to not give a sh_t who I offend. I'll be 64 in 3 weeks. I've earned it, esp after the last 8 years. I thought nothing could be worse than Reagan and his Voodoo economics, but alas I was proven wrong again.

I admire Palins spunk and determination. What I don't admire is her telling other women what they can and can't do with their bodies. She can't control her family. Add a country to run and you have a recipe for disaster, or moose jerky, depending on your position.

Running a state with the population of Baltimore is far different than a nation of 275 million.

Barrack could have went straight out of Harvard and made 6+ figures, easy. Instead, he chose to benefit the people of Chicago with his many accomplishments and hard work......................for almost no money...........for many years. The most needy people, too. Yeah, now he's well off, but at least he earned it. Look it up and compare what he's done in comparison to McSame. yeah, he was tortured and suffered many agonizing years for his country and for that alone, I thanks him. Does that make him presidential material.........Nope.

And Palin. Let's just say she looks pretty and is pushy, but that's about it. Other than fighting the bridge to nowhere, but keeping the money what has she really done.

    Nothing of importance.
Now is not the time for our country to take chances, or a crapshoot as I see it, with our beloved nation.

Hahahaha, did you hear the news? Sarah Palin might have to drop out because of troopergate. Can you say, flawless.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/16/2008 11:18:17 AM

      Hi Chin,

where did you hear that? I did hear on MSNBC that she is refusing to cooperate with the investigation. When I heard that I thought, wow the republicans really have it good they cannot be held responsible for their actions. Bush nor any of his hench men can be touched, Bush lied and fabricated evidence to push us into a war as far as I am concerned Bush, Cheney and Rice are all mass murderers.

Now Palin can decide whether or not she will "COOPERATE" with an official government investigation.

STRAIGHT TALKING MAVERICKS MY AZZ! JUST MORE OF THE SAME TYPE OF CRIMINALS!

JOE BIDEN WILL BE REPLACED WITH HILARY NEXT WEEK IF JOE CAN'T HELP WITH THE SLIPPING POLL NUMBERS...... JUST MORE PROOF THAT WE CAN'T HAVE A PRESIDENT THAT SECOND GUESSES HIMSELF! PLUS THERE ARE NO RE-DO'S IN THE WHITE HOUSE YOU HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME ! AND OBAMA HAS SHOWED TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT HE CAN NOT MAKE A GOOD CHOICE ! JUST LOOK AT HIS OLD FREINDS >...........................

If that was a credible statement it would be headline news. And of course, you have provided no link, which is no surprise.

    • Posted By: LynnPA @ 09/16/2008 12:38:34 AM

Ok... I just have to ask. Chin, for once... can you cite the resource or reference from where you found this information. Now... for the information to be deemed credible the source must also be credible.

  • Posted By: medchic @ 09/16/2008 11:11:36 AM

ambitious doesn't equal smart. I'm certainly not qualified to be VP. But in reviewing her credentials I feel Palin is. That doesn't mean I'll vote for her or McCain but she's a contender in my humble opinion. I'm waiting for the debates, personally, since I don't feel anyone has really laid out a detailed plan enough yet of exactly how they will accomplish anything for me to decide. And I don't think anyone is anybody but them self (for better or worse) with or without a "vagina" (not a dirty word) It's a silly and demeaning comment to make, not worthy of a nurse of 25 yrs. Argue a policy not a body part people deserve better.
Oh BTW never been to Alaska.
Also If you make more than me, more power to you (and who cares anyhow?) The nurses I know work longer hours (often off the clock), have more skill sets, deal with more BS and do harder physical and emotional work than most professions, including doctors, and they get far less recognition. They deserve to be compensated appropriately and unfortunately most are not.

I have to go vomit. I just saw another McSame ad.

Think about this. The world is in chaos, teetering on world war.

There's Kim Jong ill, Iranian guy, china guy, Putin and all the other tyrants.

Who do you want at the round table? Mr Magoo and a pitbull with lipstick?

Or Obama and Biden, who together has more relevant experience than the Old Man and the MILF.

I'll take the "elitist" and the poorest Senator in America anyday.

and before you say it, I'm widowed. My husband died of colon Ca 7 yrs ago, so there.
I didn't need to do it 4 times like Palin's husband.

    Family values my a_s!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 10:32:16 AM

Oh and Obama who was raised by a single mom is Elitist.

Meanwhile, McSame a low c student who only made it through Annapolis cause his dad was admiral, grew up with every advantage. He's a complete and utter failure.

And he owns 9 homes, not seven. Get a clue before you open your pie holes, people.

E_t me medchic. You totally missed the point. You'd think with all that higher education, you'd know better.

Where'd you go to med school, Alaska?

I'm glad my b/f has Canadian citizenship. I guess you don't know this, but I am a woman and I would rather have Putin as opposed to Palin and McSame. They are the single greatest threat this country has ever known, but I'm only a nurse of 25 yrs, what do I know.

Quit your job and go on welfare, you will get Cadilliac health care paid for by those of us who work for a living. No caps visit whichever doctor you wish as often as you wish. I am a physician and I see it every day. My welfare patients coverage far exceeds most private insurers (many without co-pays, caps or limits), a fact few Americas are aware of.

Enough you go girl......................let's have some, you go girl, back to Alaska, and shooting defenseless animals from a helicopter with high powered weapons.

And letting your teen get pregnant while watching your husband, who's been divorced what, 4 times (real family values) race his snowmobile or whatever the hell he does, other than making poor choices in spouses.

The very thought of these two twits in control of our struggling country is like picking Charles Manson as your babysitter.

If they win, it proves how stupid other women really are.

What male pollsters are missing from this equation are the scars of high school. Many of us remember the intimidation we felt when the 'smart girls' showed us up in algebra class - never mind that the 'smart girls' knew they were never going to get the guy.

Women aren't intimidated by Sarah Palin because they don't see her as a career woman. Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Gerralding Ferraro - all lawyers, all elite woman. Of course THEY could juggle career and motherhood effortlessly - they are so much smarter than us!

It is visceral, her appeal - remember the Donna Summer song "She Works Hard For The Money?" The video portrayed waitresses, nurse's aides, sales clerks, the non-elite.

These are the women who see themselves in Palin, who can't see themselves in Hilary or Michelle, who have nothing in common with heiress beauty queen Cindy, who felt intimidated by Gerraldine.

These are Sarah's women. The 'smart girls' will ignore their visceral reactions and vote based on the issues - the women who work hard for their money may not be able to turn away from Sarah's 'she's just like me' appeal.

Ironically, as our education system and Title IX have given more women a chance to excel, the ones who don't excel in some way are left further and futher behind. It has nothing to do with actual accomplishment but it has everything to do with how women feel about themselves and see themselves.

And they see themselves in Sarah.

      What a shame.

If McCain should win this thing, his policies will further undermine the middle class. He is using Governor Palin as a cover to make women believe that he is on their side. This could not be further from the truth. How many middle class women who are single mothers will be affected when McCain/Palen eliminate employer based health care coverage? Employer based health care benefits will be taxed under their plan or eliminated altogether. This will only be the tip of the iceberg on the assault on the middle class from a McCain administration. Haven't we suffered enough from failed Republican policies? I know I have.

Barack Obama does not have as much experience to govern the USA as Governor Sarah Palin, and she is not running for president. Graduating from Harvard Law School does not mean a person is qualified to be president of the USA. People graduate from Harvard every semester...that doesn't mean they are qualified to be president of the USA. Barack Obama has not had Chief Executive experience where he had to be accountable for decisions and actions. Many American presidents were Governors of a state. Being a governor is considered to be good experience for becoming president of USA...they are both cheif executive positions. What is insulting is that Barack Obama had the audacity to run for president with no experience for the job, and his arrogance and sexism kept him from selecting Hillary Clinton as his Vp running mate. Obama deserves to lose the general election...Not only does he lack the experience to handle the job, Obama also has very poor judgment. Who knows if Obama would be re-elected as a U.S. senator since he has spent almost all of his time as a senator campaigning for president. Barack Obama is an egotistical, arrogant, underqualified empty suit Chicago political machine politician who will not get this democrat's vote. McCain/Palin NOBAMA

    • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 09/15/2008 11:05:54 PM

Palin has been governor for all of 20 months. Her biggest accomplishment has been to increase Alaska's earmark haul from our tax dollars, supporting the Bridge to Nowhere, not supporting the Bridge to Nowhere but keeping the money and building the Road to Nowhere, and abusing the power of her office. There were other "accomplishments" of course, She undid a contract the former governor made with American firms to build a natual gas pipeline to the Lower 48 -- and then recontracted with a CANADIAN firm. So much for American jobs! She imposed an oil windfall profits tax (you know, that thing that Obama supports that McCain thinks will be the end of the U.S. economy?) so that she could up the annual oil payment to every man, woman and child in Alaska by $1200 to a very tidy $3200. So much for cutting taxes. She offered a $150 bounty on wolves killed from airplanes (kindda like how the bison were wiped out by "hunters" shooting from trains way back when). In Wasilla, she took a village that was debt-free and left it deeply in debt -- so much for balancing a budget. As governor, she's hired so many old friends for key positions that the statewide joke is that the Wasilla High yearbook is the current directly of personnel -- worse croniem than Bush, which I really didn't think was possible. And now she's involved in a cover-up of her abuse of power investigation. The incident was probably not a big deal -- but like so many politicans before her, she has not learned that key lesson: It's not the alleged crime; it's the cover-up. Ready to lead? Well . . . .she is kinda female version of Bush. If that's your idea of leadership -- go for it!

Part 1 of 3: SARAH PALIN - Sampling of her Experience and Accomplishments

Firstly, there is no government closer to the people than at the municipal level.
Palin spent EIGHT (8) YEARS in CITY GOVERNMENT, winning a seat on the WASILLA CITY COUNCIL IN 1992 mostly thanks to her opposition to tax increases. She went on to serve two council terms from 1992 to 1996.

        THE MAYOR:
She was elected MAYOR OF THE FAST-GROWING ANCHORAGE SUBURB IN 1996 and again in 1999. Mayor Palin had a record of REDUCING PROPERTY TAX LEVELS, increasing municipal services and ATTRACTING NEW INDUSTRY to her town.

During her tenure in Wassilla, she was elected CHAIR OF ALASKA CONFERENCE OF MAYORS. Next for Sarah Palin was service as CHAIR OF THE ALASKA CONSERVATION COMMITTEE, a board which regulates the states oil and gas industry. In this appointive position she began to gain what would become extensive and VALUABLE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE in the area of one of Americas most pressing issues - ENERGY. It was in this job where Palin first really demonstrated the toughness, political courage and maverick spirit that would years later so impress presidential candidate John McCain.

She RESIGNED in January 2004 as HEAD of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission after complaining to the office of Governor Frank Murkowski and to state Attorney General Gregg Renkes about ETHICAL VIOLATIONS by another commissioner, Randy Ruedrich, who was also Republican state chairman. State law barred Palin from speaking out publicly about ethical violations and corruption. However, she was vindicated later in 2004 when Ruedrich, who had been reconfirmed as state chairman, agreed to pay a $12,000 fine for breaking state ethics laws. She became a hero in the eyes of the public and the press, and the bane of Republican leaders.

In 2005, she continued to TAKE ON THE REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT by joining Eric Croft, a DEMOCRAT, in lodging an ethics complaint against Renkes, who was not only Attorney General, but also a long-time adviser and campaign manager for Murkowski. The GOVERNOR REPRIMANDED RENKES and said the case was closed. It wasnt. Renkes RESIGNED A FEW WEEKS LATER, and Palin was again hailed as a hero.

        THE GOVERNOR:
In 2006, Palin ran for governor and was elected in a landslide. According to Fred Barnes:
With her emphasis on ethics and openness in government, it turned out Palin caught the temper of the times perfectly, wrote Tom Kizzia of the Anchorage Daily News. She was also lucky. News broke of an FBI investigation of corruption by legislators between the primary and general elections. So far, three legislators have been indicted.

(Continued from my post above-Part 2 of 3: Sarah Palin: Sampling of her Experience and Accomplishments)

IN THE ROUGHLY THREE YEARS since she quit as the states chief regulator of the oil industry, Palin has CRUSHED THE REPUBLICAN HIERARCHY (virtually all male) and nearly every other FOE OR CRITIC. Political analysts in Alaska refer to the BODY COUNT of Palins rivals. The landscape is littered with the bodies of those who crossed Sarah, says pollster Dave Dittman, who worked for her gubernatorial campaign. It includes RUEDRICH, RENKES, MURKOWSKI, gubernatorial contenders John Binkley and Andrew Halcro, the THREE BIG OIL COMPANIES in Alaska, and a section of the Daily News called Voice of the Times, which was highly critical of Palin and is now defunct.

As Governor, Sarah Palins LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS LENGTHENED RAPIDLY.
        * She used her line-item veto to cut $268 million from Alaskas state budget.
        * She stood up to some of Alaskas most entrenched interests, including three big oil companies (BP, ConocoPhilips, and ExxonMobil) who hold the lease rights to much of Alaskas oil and gas wealth.

        * Once in office, Palin took an AGGRESSIVE STANCE toward the OIL COMPANIES. Her nickname from high-school basketball, Sarah Barracuda, was resurrected in the press. Early in her term, she shocked oil lobbyists when she was so bold as to not show up when Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson came to Juneau to meet with her. Palin, after scrapping Murkowskis deal, WOULD NOT GIVE BIG OIL THE TERMS THEY WANTED, yet insisted that the companies still had an obligation under their lease to deliver gas to
whatever pipeline Alaska built. She invited the oil companies to place open bids to build a pipeline, but they refused. A bid by TransCanada, North Americas largest pipeline builder, was approved by the legislature in August.

        * Palin also RAISED TAXES ON OIL COMPANIES after Murkowskis previous tax regime PRODUCED FALLING REVENUES in 2007, DESPITE SKYROCKETING OIL PRICES. Alaska now has some of the highest resource taxes in the world. Alaskas oil tax REVENUES ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABOUT $10 BILLION in 2008, twice those of previous year. BP says about half its oil revenues now go to taxes, when royalty payments to the state are included.

        * Recently, Palin APPROVED GAS TAX RELIEF FOR ALASKANS, and paid every resident $1,200 to help ease their fuel-price burden.

        * Some other Palin accomplishments include supporting and signing an ETHICS BILL passed by the Alaska legislature and creating the ALASKA HEALTH STRATEGIES PLANNING COUNCIL to find innovative solutions to effectively provide access to, and help reduce the costs of, healthcare.

(Continued in my post below - Sara Palins accomplishments/experience)

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 09/16/2008 9:29:57 AM

(Continued from my post above - Part 3 of 3: Sarah Palins accomplishments/experience)

        * As governor, Palin is commander of her states National Guard. Not content to merely sit on the title, she traveled to Kuwait to learn about her troops mission there. On the return trip to Alaska, she stopped in Germany to visit wounded soldiers in the hospital, an activity that Barack Obama did not see fit to engage in during his own overseas venture, blaming the Pentagon for his snubbing of the wounded.

        * More accomplishments: Gov. Palin signed a RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO THE FAAS PLAN TO INCREASE TAXES ON AVIATION FUEL, IMPOSE USER FEES AND SLASH AIRPORT FUNDING.

        * Also, before Palin became governor, her predecessor Frank Murkowski had purchased a Westwind Two business jet for the governors use at a $2.5 million price tag, despite the objections from the state legislature and the public. Her first order of business after taking office was to PUT THE JET UP FOR SALE. Palin did keep the governors state-owned Chevy Suburban, but she got RID OF THE DRIVER, saying it was WASTEFUL for the state to pay someone to drive her around, since she was perfectly capable of driving herself. The governors gourmet chef also got changed from a full-time to a seasonal-only basis because Palin considered it a luxury SHE DID NOT THINK ALASKANS SHOULD BE PAYING for. Her political enemies called all this superficial pandering.

        * Alaska is the only one of Americas states which borders on two foreign countries. Sarah Palin is CHIEF EXECUTIVE of our most important ENERGY STATE, one which lies only a few miles from Russian territory. She has negotiated sensitive agreements on fishing rights and other matters to keep the peace up there. She has also worked on important trade deals with other countries. She has received foreign heads of state and had discussions with them.

There are many benefits to having Governor Sarah Palin on the GOP presidential ticket, and many of them have been already been discussed extensively by both new media and old in the few short days since John McCain introduced her to the GOP in Ohio. They all rest on a rock-solid base of achievement. SHE IS ONE VERY ACCOMPLISHED VICE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE.

How is it that when somone doesn't support Obama that it has to be because they refuse to support a black man or they must be a reglious nut. Could it be that many disagree with his views? Could it be that many dislike the company he keeps? Could it be that many find the statements of his wife to be Anti-American?Could it be that many think he is far to inexperenced to lead our country? Could it be that he has No track record to judge? And on and on and on. Is it possible that it is in fact just Obama himself that many do not care for? Stop with the blame game and understand that there are 1000 reasons people either vote or do not vote for someone. Its not all about race or religion!

Women bring a unique set of skills and intellect to anything they do, why not give a girl a chance .... it cannot possibly be any worse .... if you want something new and different, this could be the change everyone is looking for.

No, this is not the change everyone is looking for, she is indeed one step behind Bush. Someone said Bush in a skirt, exactly, and McCain is hiding behind her skirts...he can't pull this off on his own so he tris to pull in a woman he thinks will grab the Christians and women. I hope some of you wake up before its too late!

The McCain/Palin campaign have learned a valuable tactic from the Bush/Cheney campaign: REPEAT A LIE ENOUGH TIMES, EVEN IN THE FACE OF CONTRARY EVIDENCE, YOU WILL STILL HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT WILL STILL BELIEVE THE ESSENCE OF THE LIE. Democrats have to learn to play the game as artfully as my republican patriots.

    • Posted By: varacefan @ 09/16/2008 8:34:09 AM

I believe you are incorrect. That lession was learned from the Clinton camp.
