Christian Fundamentalists in America blocked women from any involvment in puplic life... The first criminals to be legally sentenced to death in the Colonies by the Puritans or Evangelical Fundamentalists were witches... ladies who probably didn't go to Church on Sunday and were turned in by their Christian neighbors!

As a member of Mensa, I just wonder what the average age, education and IQ is on this blog???I appreciate that everyone has an opinion, but to rant and rave without any research or education on your point is truly pointless???..People with a brain can immediately see through the lies on all of these blogs..
By the way, do any of you know what living in 22-24 hours of darkness for several months does to brain function?

Good Morning, LynnPA - I also try not to hate anyone. Howeer, there is so muich hatred from the Democrats, one must make a stand, as it were. I am sorry it has come to this.

Men...listen to a woman voter on this one. For too many years men have felt that women should be seen, not heard, that we don't have enough sense to grasp real problems, that if we are ambitious we must surely step on all those little people on the way up to get what we want, and if we were to gain power we would only misuse it to appoint our girlfriends and men supporters to positions they are not qualified and hurt those who did not support us....... I hate to admit it men, you were right, and Sarah Palin is proof positive. She may be a woman, but for all these reasons, she is the wrong woman. We have so much more to offer, the stakes are too high. You are insulting women all across this country and selling yourselves and all of us short. Maybe men have been right all along, we are too stupid.

    • Posted By: LynnPA @ 09/15/2008 10:53:57 PM

As a highly educated woman... I find this to be an insult. You are entitled to your opinion... but do not include my daughter and I in your beliefs. You do not represent what all women think... just your own personal belief.

      • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/15/2008 11:00:13 PM

Lynn, she is right. Don't be mad because you know you are backing a man who cares nothing about women rights and has proven it time after time.

    • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 09/15/2008 10:51:14 PM

There's no value for women's rights in showcasing a woman politician who has immersed herself in lies, deceptions, cronieism, small thinking and anti-intellectualism. Palin is the kind of woman who could set back the cause of equal rights for decades, just because she is so obnoixiously dishonest..

TO ANSWER THE QUESTION WHY OBAMA SHOULD BE ???COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF??? AND NOT McSAME!

(1.) - Obama has Authentic Christian Faith; and not the hypocritical practice of the "evangelical religious-right"; nor the same lame POW story given by McCain when discussing any and every aspect of faith,

(2.) - Obama has superior Judgment and Discernment; and not the "shoot first, and think last" cr@p displayed by Bush and McSame,

(3.) - Obama is a strong and righteous man not given to alcoholism, belligerency, and quick-nasty temper like Bush & John McSame,

(4.) - Obama is a good husband of 19-years to the SAME woman; unlike John McSame who betrayed his first wife through adultery at her most vulnerable time, for a tall trophy wife whose father would bank roll McSame political career,

(5.) - Obama is an accomplished Harvard University Graduate who excelled near the top of his class; unlike Bush who was the bottom of his Yale graduating class, and McSame who was 5th from the bottom of his graduating class,

(6.) - Obama has an intelligent, accomplished, and beautiful wife that is more than a trophy piece; unlike the $100-million beauty model that has seen her better days,

(7.) - Obama has raised good Sunday School children that are smart and "not-pregnant" before marriage; unlike Sarah's child that didn't learn her mother's "abstinence lessons" and now forced by her mother to make a lifelong commitment at age 17,

(8.) - Obama was on the political national stage since the DNC convention of 2002; and not a 14-day old "Sarah-come-lately" fraud and liar,

(9.) - Obama is one of the few political wise men to see the fallacies of the Iraq war, and predict its disaster before it happened, and called for proper execution of America???s involvement in Afghanistan - even when it was unpopular to oppose the Bush Iraq war; unlike Bush and McCain who cheered on the Iraq attack under false pretense there were WMDs,

(10.) - Obama led the fight to responsibly pull our troops out of Iraq and struck an agreement with Iraq leaders to do so by 2010; which forced McSame and Bush to finally accept an "Iraqi pullout timetable",

(11.) - Obama worked both national and international legislative issues since his U.S. Senate debut. For the past two years Obama also has more Senate votes on critical U.S. issues than John McSame. The reason is because McSame has been absent from U.S. Senatorial duties with the excuse that he is on the campaign trail.

Every one of your "points" is pure BS... most of it is your opinion, and not fact based. In fact, almost all of it has your own personal liberal spin on it, and therefore makes any of your points worthless. I could pick any one to debunk, but I'll choose the last...

Obama could care less about the Senate. He used it to run for the presidency. By his own admission, he started running for president while he was still getting lost in the Senate halls. Obama's job as legislator was to legislate... but he hasn't had even one bill that was ever signed into law.

And BTW, John McCain served his country in the armed forces admirably, something BO can't ever say.

Obama went after McCain hard today. Halfway through the flight to Madison Wisconsin today, Obama stood up, walked down the aisle and facing reporters, lifted his pants. While allowing reporters to look at his knee caps, he exclaimed: "How dare McCain talk about his scars. As if I had not acquired my own scars over the years. Look at these." Several reporters openly wept. He then had them look at his nasal septum.

Oh my god. Floridave is holy roller. This guy or girl is sad. I know he lives alone with his pants still high above his or her's ankle. If this is who the Republicans have representing them, than maybe I was wrong. maybe Obama will win.

Palin, the self proclaimed dog with lipstick is as bad as cheney. McCain=Bush is hardly "unsold". Any thinking person can see that he's as bad or worse than bush. I guess you dind't watch her softball interview where she advocated war with Russia. She has ZERO experience and doesn't even know when to keep her mouth shut. She's arrogant enough to think that she can go toe to toe with anyone. As we've seen, she tried that in a scripted interview and she failed. I especially like her foriegn policy experience. Alaska is close to Russia. That's as absurd as her and McFudd suggesting that her homeland security credentials are solid because she worked with the oil companies in Alaska. Sorry, cowen, you were never a Hillary supporter,

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/15/2008 10:16:37 PM

Most of your opinionated, factless and baseless post is about Sarah Palin.

Note to McFudd... she's not running for president.

  • Posted By: demjustice @ 09/15/2008 10:16:20 PM

The arguments...woman should be seen not heard, they don't have the insight to grasp the real issues, they will just say anything to get ahead, they will stab anyone in the back to get what they want, they will put all their girlfriends and men friends into offices they aren't qualified for...Sarah Palin is proof positive for all these arguments. It isn't that she's a woman, she is the WRONG woman. Get over it, get to the real issues, and spare me the lipstick jokes. It sickens me as a woman who cares about the direction this country is moving.

In the two weeks since Sarah Palin was announced as Senator McCain's pick for VP, her handlers have allowed her to speak to the press 1 time and after serious coaching sessions. In that same time frame Senator Biden spoke with reporters 54 times. Thankfully the Palin bubble is finally bursting as the public get to see who this person for who she really is despite the McCain camp's best efforts to stifle the truth. Buyer's remorse is setting in. John McCain's judgement is in question as he blew the single most important decision he had to make as a candidate.

  • Posted By: lexi97701 @ 09/15/2008 9:16:05 PM

Guess I made this headline up too eh?
"Palin won't meet with 'Troopergate' investigator " check the associated press for this one...

After 30+ years of being a diehard Dem, I recently switched to an Independent. I no longer believe that either side has the total answer. The lines between Dems and Reps were much clearer when I was younger and now they are quite blurred. It comes down to the person with the most money wins. I've experienced a lot of presidential campaigns in my life and they are ALL like this. Mud-slinging on both sides. Obama and McCain are both doing it and that's part of the game that we play as Americans every 4 yrs. Obama and McCain are both distorting the truth about themselves and each other. That's politics! If you've been through at least one presidential election you will realize that. Try going to factcheck.org and you'll be able to sort through the garbage a little better and read credible newspapers on both sides of the aisle. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Please don't rely on blogs, YouTube, innuendo, rumor and the media that is more about attracting an audience than they are about the ethics of journalism. We live in the "Age of Entertainment" and intelligent discourse is non-existent.

You said this already, but you won't answer why would Sarah Palin want rape victims to pay for their rape kit. Since you went Ind. You also need to read the article and the comments on what the Ind voters had to say a bout Hillary Clinton, might make you mad again. They said Palin is a much better candidate than Hillary Clinton and said she has more experience and that Hillary should be in jail. Thats just the few things that was said about Hillary from Ind voters.

It's funny how they are not reporting on the story that half of the city of Anchorage Alaska rejects Palin as VP and rejects her policies!!! There are many photos to prove the anit-Palin rally in her home state? If people don't like you at home, after all they know about you - why in the world would the rest of the country? The more informaiton we find out about Sarah Palin - the more voters will not vote for her or McCain! The current poll numbers and the "bounce" you see is only temporary! Things will settle soon and voters will go back to looking at the issues - Palin-McCain will lose this election. Her views are very, very extreme and McCain still thinks the "economy is fundamentally strong"!! And this is what he said today after more bad news on Wall street! McCain is sooooo out of touch with what's going on in America today!!

As Bill Clinton said, Greenspan, Ed Koch, Rockafellers - Obama will win this election! It's the media's job to present this race as close with the very skewed polling and electorate map they speculate on. They do not take into account the minority vote - blacks, jews, hispanics, puerto ricans to name a few - all miniorities are going forward Obama!!!!

    • Posted By: whiterock @ 09/15/2008 2:44:51 PM

Yes We Can - Where did you get your information? Palin has one of the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country. I have a friend that lives in Alaska and she verified that even though she's not a big fan herself. Here approval rating has been quoted in the news constatly at around 80% which is unheard of for most governors.

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/15/2008 8:51:15 PM

I'm paying more attention to the 20%.

      • Posted By: Keepinguponfacts123 @ 09/15/2008 4:28:35 PM

I only heard that 80% number from the McCain campaign. Is there a website to verify that?

This survey was fielded July 24 -25, 2008 as part of the Hays Research Group Statewide Opinion Counts Survey. 404 completed respondents were interviewed The margin of error for the data collected is +/- 4.86 % for a 404 response survey for the data analyzed in its entirety with a 95% confidence level; meaning that we can be 95% sure that if every resident of the State with working telephone numbers who have at least one member who has voted in at least two of the last four local or state elections was actually surveyed, the results would vary by no more than 4.86% in either direction.

          Total somewhat + very favorable 323/404 80.0%
          Total somewhat + very unfavorable 65/404 16.1%

          No Opinion 12/404 3.0%
          Never heard of 4/404 1.0%

So 404 people of Alaska are speaking for all of Alaska? Is that correct to say that?

As a women that has been a hardcore Feminist for 30+ years, I can assure you that Palin is the embodiment of what we had in mind back then. May I remind everyone that Feminism isn't about being a Dem or Rep; it isn't about all women thinking and believing the same thing. True Feminism is about the right a woman has to make any choice she wants in her life - to have babies or not; to have an abortion or not; to be married or not; to have an education or not; to have a career or not. Palin is the true embodiment of a woman that has made all the choices she wants to make within her belief system. I may not agree with all her ideas and beliefs but I applaud her success at doing and being whatever she wants to be. Women of my generation and generations before me fought and struggled for Palin and Clinton to have the right to do what they wanted to do. I am proud of both of them!! The young women that have had no problem playing in sports that were once banned female participation, that went to college being treated equally to males, and are now in high-paying jobs and positions of power are the lucky recipients of all that suffering.

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/15/2008 8:47:43 PM

Suffering of your own choosing. Young American women see no sense fighting men who they need to help them raise their children.

Don't take too much credit. Horrendous problems now face young Americans thanks to the neglect of your generation.

  • Posted By: Cityzen Jane @ 09/15/2008 8:19:13 PM

Any woman that votes for Palin - without regard to her actual record and positions - without looking into her association with the CULT Assemblies of God - which is a DOMINIONIST organization, that does NOT believe in separation of church and state... is committing economic suicide, setting her children up for a substandard science education, condemning her daughters to a world without reproductive freedom ---- and voting to destroy what is left of our precious environment.
No matter how spunky she is - no matter how you look at it - she is NOT who I want standing up to Allmedinijahd, Putin, Mugabe, Bin Ladin and all the other people she will need to deal with on the world stage. THERE ARE PLENTY OF WOMEN BOTH REPUBLICAN and DEMOCRAT who are TOTALLY QUALIFIED. She is not.

    NOT JUST ANY WOMAN.

As HILARY said No How, No Way, No McCain and NO PALIN.

    • Posted By: whiterock @ 09/15/2008 8:33:02 PM

I bet Hillary is secretly laughing her head off over this...I don't believe for a minute that she wants Obama to win. Her and Bill are just going through the motions but they don't think he should be prez. This is what Obama gets for not picking her. Hillary has always been good friends with McCain and they have respected each other in spite of their differences. I think this is a brilliant strategy on McCain's part. People can demonize Palin all they but it worked...it totally took the wind out of Obama's egotistical sail and re-energized the Rep party!
