"Honor comes with Honesty"??? a quote from Gov. Kathleen Sebelius this morning rings true. When McCain deliberately misleads us, he discraces himself and he should be shamed for believing his handlers in thinking that this is the way to run a campaign, much less the presidency.

What the heck is wrong with this country! Are we really this gullable and nieve?

Is America really that far removed from reality that we will elect McCain and Palin!?!?

Loved Joe Bidens slogan "THE SEQUAL IS ALWAYS WORST THEN THE FIRST ONE," meaning mccain will be worse then Bush. NEWSWEEK, WHY ARE YOU NOT REPORTING THE ANTI- PALIN RALLY WITH BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICAN WOMAN IN HER OWN STATE OF ALASKA. OVER 90 THOUSAND PEOPLE PROTESTING AGAINS SARA PALIN! GOOGLE IT!
This was a post on CNN. I loved it.

Before you cast an emotional vote for MacCain, consider the ramifications:
Stem Cell research will again be delayed as the rest of the world surges ahead of us in the realm of science and technology. Most Americans will someday regret that as they watch a child die needlessly of a curable disease or a parent slip into the fog of alzheimers. How much longer will we be held in the grip of an ANTI-SCIENCE administration.
HOw much time was wasted as Bush/MacCain denied the very existence of global warming and fired scientists who disagreed?
The rest of the world is again ahead of us as countries as poor as India have banned plastic bags?
    Please vote for our future!

I had to copy this because it is really good:

    I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight;

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're 'exotic, different.'

Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.

If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

And with McCain saying that even though Americans are facing tough times, America's economy is still fundamentally sound. You right wingers, please help me out. The Republicans were in power from 2001-2007. Once Bush and the Republicans took over, gas went up from 1.30 to 4.00. Unemployment went from 4.2% to 6.1% More home foreclosures and job loss and Carly Fiorina being McCains senior economic adviser even though she helped send 1000's of jobs overseas and she said that "jobs in America are not Americans God-Given right." Help me out you rightwingers. So far you are batting zero. Even though Obama can't win this election, he will win the war because no way can McCain and Palin turn this country around when they want to rely on the Market and not let the Gov't help the American people.

John McCain announced that he was running for president to confront the "transcendent challenge" of the 21st century, "radical Islamic extremism," contrasting it with "stability, tolerance and democracy." But the values of his handpicked running mate, Sarah Palin, more resemble those of Muslim fundamentalists than they do those of the Founding Fathers. On censorship, the teaching of creationism in schools, reproductive rights, attributing government policy to God's will and climate change, Palin agrees with Hamas and Saudi Arabia rather than supporting tolerance and democratic precepts. What is the difference between Palin and a Muslim fundamentalist? Lipstick.

Wow, you Obamatbots are still freaked out about the surprise Palin pick. Im loving it. The more you tear her apart the more I can tell how worried the Obots are about her changing the game plan in this race. LMAO.

This historic election is going to be a fight to the finish! The Democrats underestimated the Republicans. It???s evident that with more women going out to vote and with what Sarah Palin as a woman stands for in their mind (not the abortion issue, but the fact that she is an average working mom and can juggle work, motherhood and home equally well), McCain has a good shot at winning it. What was Obama thinking of when he did not take Hillary Clinton as his running mate?! The Democrats had the same numbers at their finger tips as the Republicans and this article has written about ??? that women form the chunk of the voters, that women are more prone to decide who to vote for closer to the election date, that women are more concerned about the real issues that plague the average American today ??? the economy and where it???s headed, the earning and spending power; in short, how much buying power their dollar has at the supermarket and at the pharmacy. Was Obama so drunk on his own charisma and imagined Presidential abilities on one hand, and on the other, his insecurities about Hillary Clinton were so larger-than-life that he vetoed her as his running mate, and consequently ignored the writing on the wall -- that the American voters (read that as women) would perhaps like to see a woman represent them, if not as a President, then as a VP?! Make no mistake, the women out there are looking for a change and that change is not the change of skin color so much as change in gender at the helm of things. By putting Hillary out there as his running mate, Obama would have unwittingly checkmated McCain???s move of having Sarah Palin as his running mate. It would then have been a real fight ??? a war of the women, for the women and by the women. In other words, who will it be for them ??? Hillary Clinton, an experienced, strong-willed, determined, committed, thinking VP or Sarah Palin, a raw, average, has-been beauty queen with more rough edges to her personality to polish off than a rough diamond? Finally, with the recent numbers put out there for us to crunch on, if McCain wins this one, it will be because America is ready for a female Vice-President and not a black President. And yes, it will, after all, be about what women want. And even though Hillary lost as the Presidential candidate for the Democrats and didn???t make it as the running mate for Obama as his VP, it is still her victory because women will have, at the end of the day, voted for what she stands for - CHANGE. Obama didn't pick Hillary because he's smart. How could he pick a running mate that he spent over a year bashing and discrediting? Think about it. McCain would have had a field day with that. Why didn't McCain pick a more worth VP, like another presidential candidate from the Republican party? He would have had to become a liar and take back all the things he said.
Personally, I don't want an average working mom in office with mediocre intelligence. I find it frightening that a hockey mom from a tiny state (pop.) even has a shot at office. This country has become a joke, to us and the entire world.
I do think McCain will win, even though I'm voting Obama. He will win because this country is unfortunately lacking in intelligent citizens, and like it or not, I believe Obama's race is an issue. I'm from a key state with extreme rural areas and I've heard it said time and time again. He's a muslim, he's a terrorist, he's going to squash whites. That's the kind of ignorance out there. How does he have a 75% approval rating in Europe, a traditionally more progressive, enlightened area of the world, yet it's neck and (red)neck here?

      • Posted By: LynnPA @ 09/15/2008 5:52:30 PM

The reason Europe has such a close connection with Obama is because most of Europe is based on a socialist government. Obama's agenda is very close to the Socialist agenda. Before anyone jumps to answer based on emotion verses fact, I suggest you do your homework first.

Take his agenda piece by piece and place it next to one of the socialist parties in Europe, such as the party in Italy, France, or Romania. You might be surprised just how similar they are. What Obama suggests is not new or change at all... but the same socialist agenda that the democrats have tried for years to get in place... all one need do is compare the policies... the answers will be self evident.

OldPlusNew: We could say the same thing for Obama. What happens if people elect the first black president for the US and he's a total disaster? Then what? You won't see another black president for another (I won't go to the extreme that you did 100 - 150 years) more like decades if that happens. The people will think "No way not another Obama.

Don't vote for Obama. for the love of Reverrand Wright and all of his cronies, don't vote for him.

People could actually set themselves back by electing Obama who is the obvious wrong candidate. Hillary was a better candidate than Obama and would have given Palin a run for her money, but no use now in crying over spilled milk, right. So get on the bandwagon and vote for Palin who does not BS like Obama! Besides, I'll take my chances with a true Christian VP than a one day Muslim one day "supposibly Christian" Obama. This guy sells enough wolf tickets to make the wolves in Alaska jealous!

Worry aboaut the year 2042. You won't be the majority. The hispanics will be the majority.

      • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 09/15/2008 12:18:31 PM

Glad to hear that because I am Hispanic. Woohoo! Maybe we can get a Hispanic President in office by then under the Independent Party since both parties are something left to be admired.

        • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/15/2008 5:49:49 PM

I hope so because I am a hispanic also.

    • Posted By: OldPlusNew @ 09/15/2008 2:35:54 AM

You're comparing apples to hand grenades. Barack Obama ran for the people's trust and respect for 20 months and won his party's nomination. He then chose to pick the Vice Presidential candidate that he felt would best help the nation recover from this tumultuous time, even though this candidate has not always agreed with Barack Obama. John McCain, in contrast, chose a pick that NO ONE had ever heard of until now, has less experience than Obama on key issues, is labeled as being in the extreme right wing of the party (along with Cheney), and we get 60 days to determine who she is... even though everything we hear about her begs the question, "Why did John McCain pick this woman?"

What's even stranger about the McCain pick, and why many believe this wasn't his pick, is that the great thing about John McCain was always that there was no cynicism from him. As Chuck Tood and Michael Murphy (a Republican) noted: This pick was cynical.

In the words of the RIGHT female candidate for president, the one who I supported: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO MCCAIN-PALIN.

      • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 09/15/2008 12:34:07 PM

Like I said, Democrats would stick by their guy no matter what he says. He could say he is gay and you people would still vote for him. He could hang around radical Islam and you would still vote for him. He could receive the most earmarks in history and you would vote for him. The Obam Love train will continue to move because his words tickle the ear and you use that lame excuse that McCain and Palin will bring more of the same! (yawning) You liberals are boring me! It's like casting pearls before swine. You will never get it!

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/15/2008 1:46:12 PM

You mentioned Gay, I really hope that all of the Gay & Lesbian Americans understand that once these Church Nazis get into power their rights are GONE, these two individuals will try to make any and everything that does not apply to their life ILLEGAL, so all of the Same Sex Marriages, if they can, will definitely be outlawed.

By the way you mentioned that you are Hispanic, yes the republicans do want you so long as you are sneaking into the country and are willing to raise their children, clean their toilets and work for $2.00 I am sure that you are very welcome!

By the way one day this government will wake up and deal with the Mexican illegal invasion, the fact that illegals will become the majority in 2042 is NOT AT ALL A GOOD THING FOR AMERICA. This country has to stop being the welfare system for third world countries. If Mexico is such a sh!t hole that is your problem, fix it or don't but STAY there or come into the country by LEGAL means! No responsible person has 6+ kids when they are unable to support themselves. By the way the last I heard Hispanics are the largest racial group in the Welfare system. Nice way to blend in. VIVA LA MEICO!

What women want with a lipstick sympbol? How condescending!

Heres a clue Newsweek, we want the same things that men wants!

Vote Mccain and Palin. This country needs some protective nurturing and who better to do it then a war hero who was borned to serve the country and a woman who was borned to mother.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/15/2008 12:21:49 PM

And black americans want the same thing that the majority want. What are you saying.

      • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 09/15/2008 12:42:25 PM

Then they need to get off their lazy butts, get an education, and stop depending on government hand outs. This country doesn't owe them anything. You don't hear the indians crying that they want their country back so stop pulling out the black race card. Leave that to Al Sharpton and J Jackson. Sheesh.

        • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/15/2008 5:45:45 PM

You are stupid. They have their own laws and their own land. They run most of the casio's. Take a trip to Arizona. You really sound racist. Thanks for showing me what America is really like. 2042, you will be talking different when the Hispanics are the majority and you won't have a word to say.

        • Posted By: summer4077 @ 09/15/2008 1:25:22 PM

Wow, you completely just proved my point that racism is alive and well in America! In case you haven't noticed, America isn't about getting an education to get a good job. It's about who your daddy is and how much money you were born into.

How can this woman who has never been to an Ivy League School, has never spent a single summer in Long Island, Martha's Vineyard, or the Berkshires, be qualified to be Vice President of this great country?

    • Posted By: paproudmom @ 09/15/2008 12:30:14 PM

Actually this makes her more qualified!

      • Posted By: cincinnatimom @ 09/15/2008 1:46:00 PM

Actually, it does not. Our world leaders ARE supposed to be smarter than us and getting a higher education DOES increase your capability to make better decisions. She does not understand global economics, world history, or the fragile state of global politics. But she did state that "you cannot blink" in making decisions.

        • Posted By: paproudmom @ 09/15/2008 2:10:13 PM

Actually you do not know what she does or does not know. What I meant is there are many great colleges/univerersities in the US not just a few. Also living in only one section of the country also does not mean your qualified. Especially having such an arrogant attitude certainly does not qualify a person. Empathy and the ability to relate to others is an important factor is making decisions for other people. She also has political experience and seems to learn quickly. Which show intelligence.

When Sarah Palin ran for governor of Alaska in 2006 she completed a questionnaire.

Question: "Does the phrase "Under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance offend you?"

Palin's answer: "Not on your life. If it' was good enough for the founding fathers it's good enough for me."

            Sure.

The Pledge of Allegiance was penned in the late 1800s, "Under God' was inserted in the mid-1950s.

          • Posted By: Keepinguponfacts123 @ 09/15/2008 4:40:49 PM

Empathy....you not stating that John McCain and Sarah Palin have empathy are you? I have been watching this campaign from day one (of the primaries) John Mc Cain may have had empathy years ago, but he does not show to me that he understands us or has any kind of empathy. Sarah Palin has not spoken many of her own words to the public...how can you say she has empathy! You don't even know this women. She has been in the public eye for what 2-3 weeks. She keeps reciting the same words from the RNC speach. Why won't they let the real Sarah Palin speak. Only then can decide if she has empathy for others.

  • Posted By: cincinnatimom @ 09/15/2008 1:39:55 PM

As a woman, I applaud her hard work for the things she believes in and the progress she has made in Alaska. But she is not qualified to be VP, and God forbid, president. Her speeches sound like they are written by Karl Rove. Yes, a fresh face, but no new ideas. How is that change or progress for our nation? Why are people trying to protect her like she can't take care of herself? Last time I checked "barracudas" did not need protection from the media or anyone else. Let her speak about the issues and please listen to what she says. She sounds like George Bush, who I voted for once. We liked him too, but he has not been a good president. She has provided no solutions for the failing economy, education, health care, or ending the war. I assume that the people (men and women) who are so impressed with Palin do care about all of those issues. She can wrap herself in the American flag and she may be patriotic, but she does not have the capacity to lead this country. Stop the mud slinging. Focus on the issues and facts not the fan fair.

This election is too important to vote or not vote for someone because of gender, age or race or on ONE issue, like abortion. No candidate is perfect, but as a progression society, we should be making decisions that don't involved petty issues.

If polices were the issue, Obama would never win. He has changed his stand on so many things so many times, even his own campaign people can't keep up. He is a fraud. From day one all his less than desirable traits, have been pushed aside and hidden under the liberal press agenda.
Wonder why we never hear from his "minister" again? The raciest black church he and his family attended for over 20 years, and now Palin's religion is being called into question by the liberal news media and made an issue of!!
If gender plays a roll, then I am for a white less than perfect woman who is as qualified as the raciest black man.Save your indignation for someone who gives a Crap!!

    • Posted By: Keepinguponfacts123 @ 09/15/2008 4:21:25 PM

ndrock....you can vote for any one you choose. But I just want to make sure you know that Sarah Palin is not running for anything and once John McCain gets in the White House she will have little to do. Just wanted clear that up in case you thought she was running for office.

One more thing. - Considering Republican Presidents have appointed 7 of the current 9 Supreme Court Justices, 5 of the last 7 Presidents have been Republicans, and until 2 years ago, controlled both houses of congress, I understand why whiterock and other voters feel the Republican Party represents their interests. With all the prosperity the Republicans have brought to our nation, I don't blame them for sticking with what they see as the party that represents their values. (I admit to being an east coast liberal "elitist" with a Masters Degree and 100K salary).

  • Posted By: Iota1963 @ 09/15/2008 3:38:55 PM

. I offer a heart-felt good luck to the citizens who continue to believe the Republicans have their interest at heart. In spite of all evidence to the contrary, you continue to vote Republican under a belief they share your values. I guess when the last factory has closed, home repossessed, bank failed,...., no I take that back. You will still vote Republican.

@Ndrock - Then vote Republican. With 5 of the last 7 Presidents, 7 of the 9 current Supreme Court Justices appointed, and until 2 years ago, both houses of Congress under Republican control, I completely understand your continued confidence in the Republican Party and it's ability to spead economic prosperity to everyone. Even at the convention, only 36 of the delegates were black. Republican policies have proven themselves to be what is best for America.

  • Posted By: Iota1963 @ 09/15/2008 1:22:46 PM

I understand why many voters feel the Republican Party represents their interests. With all the prosperity the Republicans have brought to Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, or the entire country for that matter, I don't blame them for sticking with what they see as the party that represents their values. Even though my heart is with the Democrats, I do better financially under the Republicans (liberal east coast "elitist" with a Masters Degree and 100K income in 2007).
