The DNC and party elites pushed Obama over the top. Obama ignored Hillary and picked a boring Washington insider for his VP. McCain capitalized on Obama's error in judgement, and rather than picking an old bore like Obama did, he spiced up his campaign. Palin doesn't have the experience, credibility, or fortitude that Hillary has. However, McCain's choice was strategic brilliance.
Every time we see Palin, it reminds us that Obama made a mistake by not picking Hillary. Every time we see Biden, it reminds us that Obama made a mistake by not picking Hillary. If Obama loses, it will be his own fault.
Had Hillary gotten the nomination OR been on the ticket, the Democrats would be up by double digits in the polls, the Democratic party would have been energized, and the nominee would win in November with at least 350 electoral votes. FL,OH,PA,MI all would go blue.
Now, we have constant reminders that Hillary should be on the ticket. What a mess!

Barbara invited Obama to hold a fund raiser. She knows that the Republicans have lied to us time after time. Relying on the market and you see what just happened.

Obama says I have the best plan to cure the Mortgage Crisis ??? this is a Lie. He and his campaign buddy Penny 'Sub Prime Bank Collapse' Prizker have had your little fingers full of subprime cash - Obama has taken $1,180,103 from the top issuers of subprime loans: Obama received $266,907 from Lehman, $5395 from GMAC, $150,850 from Credit Suisse First Boston, $11,250 from Countrywide, $9052 from Washington Mutual, $161,850 from Citigroup, $4600 from CBASS, $170,050 from Morgan Stanley, $1150 from Centex, and last but certainly NOT LEAST - Obama received $351,900 from Goldman Sachs. I am sure that cash all came from folks who knew the subprime loan they had was a dream, eh? And in case you haven???t noticed Lehman is now bankrupt and the Freddie and Fannie fiasco is now our problem! That is the taxpayers! and he has the nerve to blame the republicans this guy has no shame and all of you supporters of him have no brain geeze !!

Oh my god, you just lied big time. Sharenews or willnotvoteobama or whoever you are, you need to quit with your lies. Go back to the S&L scandal.

Gov. Sarah Palin will make an excellent VP and will finally break that glass ceiling. Thank you for an exceptional and insightful Article.

I am grateful to McCain for taking a chance on Sarah Palin. Clearly our democratic candidate did not feel comfortable with a woman. I think this election will finally change how both parties think about the large block of women voters. Obama blew it big time thinking that the women vote is necessary to win and that he did not need to do anything to win that vote. I am not a McCain/Palin supporter but elections will not be the same b/c of the Palin selection. Women stand up and be heard.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/15/2008 12:20:12 PM

Carly get a life. She wanted women who got raped to pay for their own rape kit. She is the same but with lipstick.

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/15/2008 4:52:42 PM

Worse than that, if the rape results in pregnancy, Palin says no abortion allowed.

Thanks But No Thanks to Sarah Palin and her Taliban-inspired loopy interpretation of God's wll.

  • Posted By: jackiroo @ 09/16/2008 12:01:01 PM

I am concerned that the democratic party either takes for granted the women voters or do not care to understand this important group. Instead of asking us what we want they tell us that they will take care of our concerns. And they tend to think that all we care about is our reproductive rights. We are much more complicated than that. We are required to do it all. We are moms but we also want to hold high level positions in industry and the government. We just get no respect and this attitude is going to come back and bight them big time. The republican party gets the fact that over half of the population is women and are making major strides whoo these voters. The democrats only understand putting us in our place and put down those women who supported Hillary Clinton. I am now asking myself why I ever supported Obama. He does not care about women except when he realized that he actual needs this block of voters to win the election. Why should women belong to a party who only gives lip service to the important role women play in our country but not important enough to hold high level positions. A few of us would like to see the glass ceiling shattered and are coming to realize we have been supporting the wrong party. The democrats have no interest seeing women in power but instead want to make sure we are kept in our place.

      Very well said...I totally agree!

      • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/16/2008 12:20:16 PM

There you go again whiterock, jumping on the bandwagon but have no issues you can really talk about. Stop being a follower and become a leader.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/16/2008 12:14:53 PM

Really, so I guess his wife and ttwo girls mean nothing to him. He is ready to see them be slaves to the system when they grow up. You sound like a retard. Give me a break. No man want to see his girls become slaves to the system. You are doing what the McCain camp has done, spread lies and this time, it is not working. Polls show that people feel that Obama has the same values that they have. Get a life!

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/16/2008 12:12:46 PM

McCain is calling the bankers people you can't trust, yet, McCain was a part of the problems when he was involved with the S&L scandal. Talking from two sides.

    GoObama

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/16/2008 12:11:06 PM

My god the Obama camp has gone on the offense in a big way. This is how the results will change like all the reporters have said. It will change and sharenews will be moving to Alaska to join the AIP with Sarah Palin and her husband.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/16/2008 12:09:35 PM

With new evidence of e-mails coming from Sarah Palins administration and McCain saying that the economy is still fundamentally sound, we will see a shift in the polls. Especially since the Repubs rely on the market and the Dems rely on gov't intervention.

Good thing that with the new evidence against Sarah Palin and the financial crisis, that will all change next week.

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 11:37:45 AM

The whole repub party sickens me. Between the bathroom sex, unjust wars, closed door meetings, torture, redistribution of wealth, failed foreign and domestic policies, the erosion of America's world standing, the spiraling debt, the dying economy, loss of jobs, housing collapse, deregulations, bailouts and just complete and overall failure at every thing they touche, you'd think the Repubs would just give up.

But, they're pitbulls with lipstick And an old man wearing panties. They're all a disgrace to this country and the world.

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 11:32:34 AM

Republinists think they are above the law.

She won't speak cause the truth would end her pitiful little VP run and then McSame would have to talk about something of substance, of which he has none.

He can only memorize a few phrases at a time, like Palin.

Hopefully he'll stop staring at her ass and boobs long enough to realize what he is talking about next time.

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 11:27:25 AM

Take it any you want dearie. I'm a nurse pactitioner and I work 50-60 hrs a week and I'm well compensated. I have a dirty mouth and I'm old enough to not give a sh_t who I offend. I'll be 64 in 3 weeks. I've earned it, esp after the last 8 years. I thought nothing could be worse than Reagan and his Voodoo economics, but alas I was proven wrong again.

I admire Palins spunk and determination. What I don't admire is her telling other women what they can and can't do with their bodies. She can't control her family. Add a country to run and you have a recipe for disaster, or moose jerky, depending on your position.

Running a state with the population of Baltimore is far different than a nation of 275 million.

Barrack could have went straight out of Harvard and made 6+ figures, easy. Instead, he chose to benefit the people of Chicago with his many accomplishments and hard work......................for almost no money...........for many years. The most needy people, too. Yeah, now he's well off, but at least he earned it. Look it up and compare what he's done in comparison to McSame. yeah, he was tortured and suffered many agonizing years for his country and for that alone, I thanks him. Does that make him presidential material.........Nope.

And Palin. Let's just say she looks pretty and is pushy, but that's about it. Other than fighting the bridge to nowhere, but keeping the money what has she really done.

    Nothing of importance.
Now is not the time for our country to take chances, or a crapshoot as I see it, with our beloved nation.

  • Posted By: medchic @ 09/16/2008 11:11:36 AM

ambitious doesn't equal smart. I'm certainly not qualified to be VP. But in reviewing her credentials I feel Palin is. That doesn't mean I'll vote for her or McCain but she's a contender in my humble opinion. I'm waiting for the debates, personally, since I don't feel anyone has really laid out a detailed plan enough yet of exactly how they will accomplish anything for me to decide. And I don't think anyone is anybody but them self (for better or worse) with or without a "vagina" (not a dirty word) It's a silly and demeaning comment to make, not worthy of a nurse of 25 yrs. Argue a policy not a body part people deserve better.
Oh BTW never been to Alaska.
Also If you make more than me, more power to you (and who cares anyhow?) The nurses I know work longer hours (often off the clock), have more skill sets, deal with more BS and do harder physical and emotional work than most professions, including doctors, and they get far less recognition. They deserve to be compensated appropriately and unfortunately most are not.

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 10:56:38 AM

I have to go vomit. I just saw another McSame ad.

Think about this. The world is in chaos, teetering on world war.

There's Kim Jong ill, Iranian guy, china guy, Putin and all the other tyrants.

Who do you want at the round table? Mr Magoo and a pitbull with lipstick?

Or Obama and Biden, who together has more relevant experience than the Old Man and the MILF.

I'll take the "elitist" and the poorest Senator in America anyday.

  • Posted By: medchic @ 09/16/2008 10:41:06 AM

Sorry to hear about your husband. Colon CA is a terrible disease.

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 10:35:25 AM

and before you say it, I'm widowed. My husband died of colon Ca 7 yrs ago, so there.
I didn't need to do it 4 times like Palin's husband.

    Family values my a_s!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 10:33:57 AM

And I probably make more than you do.

    HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 10:32:16 AM

Oh and Obama who was raised by a single mom is Elitist.

Meanwhile, McSame a low c student who only made it through Annapolis cause his dad was admiral, grew up with every advantage. He's a complete and utter failure.

And he owns 9 homes, not seven. Get a clue before you open your pie holes, people.

  • Posted By: 1easylay @ 09/16/2008 10:30:11 AM

E_t me medchic. You totally missed the point. You'd think with all that higher education, you'd know better.

Where'd you go to med school, Alaska?

I'm glad my b/f has Canadian citizenship. I guess you don't know this, but I am a woman and I would rather have Putin as opposed to Palin and McSame. They are the single greatest threat this country has ever known, but I'm only a nurse of 25 yrs, what do I know.

  • Posted By: EE7011 @ 09/16/2008 10:28:06 AM

McCain is finally getting the "celebrity" that Obama had been receiving all along. Sad.
