I already own property in Sicily and it's more trouble than it's worth with the laws they have there
where they protect squatters who try to take over your property and we been in court for years and all the judges
do is postponement that seems to be Sicily's judicial system is to postpone everything. tThey really need
to change the laws and give rights to of ownership to the real owners who have deeds to properties but for some reason they feel if you don't live there all year round it's ok for anyone to try and take ownership of your property and the Judicial system entertains these squatters and gives them the time of day in court where here in th US These type of cases would even exist Sicily better look further at their Laws I would NEVER by antything there unless they changed the Laws to protect foreign investors

What about infrastructure such as underground water, sewage, and gas & electricity? Does this town have this infrastructure in place and brought up to today's standards for buyers/builders to tap into? Who's being fooled here?

What about infrastructure, who bears that cost? Surely underground water, sewage, electricity, etc., should be developed before buyers are expected to build. Who's being fooled here?

this is a common approach in all ciites world -wide, except that the
person need not pay the $2. Since land with no income producing
building on it [not ag land of course] harms a community economically, this approach is available for all stagnant communities; Glad Italy is finally
    on board!
