With all the information out that clearly indicates that the best tax cuts for everyone...small business owners alike...are proposed by Obama; you still suffer from ignorance. You are most likely not a racist; however, you are apparently a biggot, like many others, you can't hear the truth because of color. White people continue to cut off their noses to spite their faces. Racism, like ignorance, can be cured with information, biggotry, like stupidity, is fatal.

Thank you for telling it like it really is!!! I have been reading all kinds of comments during this political season for almost 20 months, and have come to the conclusion that the "low information voters" are the ones that truly scare me. Instead of doing their own research and validating claims from both sides on sites like factcheck.org, they continue to parrot the talking points of the same group that has sent this country down a rat hole. Funny how this country is still hung up on color and ethnicity. I wish people would see how they harm themselves and the country by standing firm with old ideas and beliefs. McCain/Palin!?!?!? God help us!!!

Remember, these are the very same people saying they are for changing from the current party, but are in fact the current party, I mean, how can we change to the Republicans, from the Republicans? Were these candidates not Republicans who embraced every policy Bush put out there no matter how stupid or disastrous it was or would be for America? Do we really believe that by electing more of the same party into office yet again, we are going to gain even an ounce of our world respect back? Who was it that awarded 98% of the contracts to rebuild Iraq, worth billions of our dollars to Halli-Burton, the company he used to be the CEO of until getting his current position of power? Think America, don't be fooled by the same rhetoric of fear and hidden hate any more, we are grown adults, let's prove it for once, grow a spine America!!!

What are the Republicans worried about? Obviously her motives were pure in pursuing the matter after she became governor.

If the Palins are so right, why do

  • Posted By: Alongwayback @ 09/17/2008 12:22:18 PM

You see, I would not want anyone who has used their position of power at any point of their career to exact revenge upon anyone as my nations Vice-President, a heartbeat away from the Presidency. The first thing you have to understand about human nature is this, even if she is only found guilty of having abused her power even this one time, it means she has the capacity by the facts to do unethical things. Now, while she may not be corrupt, giving her the benefit of the doubt, it still shows that she clearly is corruptable, by the very power she had at the time.

seriously, does anyone still trust what Palin says? She is continually confronted with actual evidence of her own statements and actions in the past that directly contradicts her current declarations and promises (i.e. her disapproval of the Bridge to Nowhere only after the senate had refused to give anymore money, her unprofessional and vindictive use of her power and office, her disproportionate earmarks for Alaska even though she's now claiming she was frugal and is pointing the finger at other ppl's earmarks instead of her own). Just give your lies a break, Palin! Geez, do you think we're all stupid or something??

  • Posted By: Alongwayback @ 09/17/2008 12:16:29 PM

It is not useless if she used her position of power to influence the outcome of an event that did not directly concern her. You see, if she used her position to gain the upper hand and execute revenge against the trooper on her sisters behalf, it is clearly a big problem for the nation.

  • Posted By: valark @ 09/17/2008 12:15:57 PM

Its funny how you will say that Palin can't say Mike Wooten is guilty without due process, but Palin herself can be guilty without it. Make up your minds.

Subpoena -- a written command to a person to testify before a court or be punished!

Obstruction of Justice -- the criminal offense, under common law and according to the statutes of the Alaskan jurisdiction, of obstructing the administration and due process of law.

Is Palin the governor of USA -- United States of Alaska?

  • Posted By: Alongwayback @ 09/17/2008 12:12:57 PM

You cannot in this country just say a person is guilty of something and subsequently fire them, you have to prove your case by the facts, not hear-say, not because you no longer like them because they divorced your sister, which actually should not effect you on your job and neither should your job affect the outcome of the divorce. She treads a double-edged sword, which threatens to cut both ways. To delay an investigation into this matter only adds fuel to the fire of accusations that she abused her power in a political office. If she truly has done nothing wrong, then please explain to me why official government correspondances were carbon-copied to her husband's email? He holds no political office, so why is he entitled to emails which were deemed confidential and for government eyes only? Why and how did her staffers get access to his personal files, which are protected and are supposed to be private by law? You see, these issues are what have Sarah Palin a person of interest in this investigation which she and McCain are trying to block. So forgive me if I have a very hard time understanding why, if she is truly innocent of any wrong-doing in the case, is she attempting to block the investigation?

Exactly, Palin was NOT even governor during the useless trooper thing. How many of you bright dems new that? It might be the most useless topic discussed in American history. Don't trust people on this board. Many are from out of this country pushing the dem cause. Democrats equal weakness on about the only useful thing the govt does, which is provide a defense. Terrorist clearly support Democrats. That's a useful topic, but not debateable.

  • Posted By: jbentley4 @ 09/17/2008 12:05:52 PM

Why is this not a total scandal. If Barack Obama or Joe Biden were openly trying to cover-up a investigation into their abuse of power, it would be front-age news nonstop. Whether or not she is guilty, the manner in which state officials, paid by tax payers, are in cahoots with John McCain's political campaign is a scandal.

And let's not let these accusations of a "tainted" and "political" investigation stand. The committee that established this investigation had 8 Republicans and only four Democrats. Also Sarah Palin, who ran promising "open government" originally promised to cooperate.

I certainly DO NOT want a hussein obama running my country, especially w/zero experience. Look what you dems keep doing to yourselves! Your decisions in life, business and politics are questionable. It's mind-boggling. Here is the company you keep...Crazy man gore, howard dean, out of touch kerry, celebrities, michael moore, news media, al franken, barack hussein obama, keith oberman, rosie, kucinich, etc. Look what makes up you people. Do you really want to be part of that crowd? Don't you aspire to be more? Get the hell out of there. Be happy, prosperous, do your best, work hard, work on your thinking, enjoy your short life. The Gov't ain't going to change a things, only you can do that.

What do you know about what makes up my life? Keep your ignorant presumptions to yourself. BTW, as it happens, I'm happy, prosperous, and enjoying my life.

You are a very bitter person. I guess it hurts to see all these people you mentioned are right. Then again, it's just my opinion. God bless America.

    SARAH PALIN???S WASTEFUL WAYS
    PART III
Today, the sports complex sits like a huge airplane hangar outside the Wasilla city limits, in a clearing in the woods. Since Palin's administration decided to build the complex far from Wasilla's population center, kids can't walk there or ride their bicycles. On a recent, drizzly afternoon, the cavernous building sat nearly empty. Inside, two girls glided aimlessly around on the ice rink.
But the quiet arena still held Palin's charged presence. A wall plaque commemorated Mayor Sarah Palin and her City Council for constructing the edifice. And on the walls, big, bold quotations urged young athletes to attempt impossible, Sarah Barracuda-like feats: "'You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.' -- Wayne Gretzky."
Local officials are also highly critical of Palin's decision to build an emergency dispatch center -- even though Wasilla and nearby Palmer already shared the costs of an emergency operation for the Mat-Su Valley. As a result of the duplication, there are now two expensive operations for an area with 85,000 people, while the city of Anchorage, with a population of over 300,000, makes do with one emergency station.
"Don't tell me about earmarks," snorts a borough official. "Because of Palin's ego, she couldn't stand the idea of sharing an emergency dispatch operation with Palmer, which has been Wasilla's town rival ever since her high school basketball days. So she ran to [Senator] Ted Stevens to get an earmark for her own system. Now we have two expensive emergency systems and both are losing money. She's no budget cutter -- give me a break. She's just the opposite."
Nick Carney, who is now retired in Utah, has a lot of time to ponder Sarah Palin's rise these days. When he and his wife picked Palin to run for City Council in 1992, because they felt the council needed an average-mom type like her, Carney had no idea how far their protégé would soar. "It was a very casual process, she wasn't even our first choice. We had known her since she was a girl, she went to school with our daughter. It wasn't that she was the brightest thing on the horizon, a rising star or anything like that."
But, in hindsight, Carney can see the qualities that have rocket-propelled Palin to where she is today.
"'Sarah Barracuda' -- she's proud of that name now, she uses it in her campaigns," said her former mentor. "But she got that name from the way she conducted herself with her own teammates. She was vicious to the other girls, always playing up to the coach and pointing out when the other girls made mistakes. She was the coach's favorite and he gave her more playing time than her skills warranted. My niece was on her team; she was a very good player. I used to sit there in the stands, and I would wonder, Why on earth is Sarah getting so much playing time?"

If you think the trooper should have been fired, that is one thing, but shoudn't there be at the very least, an investigation to determine that? If Sarah is so innocent, why block an investigation that would bear that out?

If Palin has nothing to hide, why is her party protecting themselves from? This resembles Bush cover ups - and the McCain-Palin machine is using the same tactics...
