    Let me get this straight: The candidate who promises to shine a light on the dealings of Wall St wants to keep his running mate's affairs in the shadows. Are they afraid that there might be something there? If she's going to allege on national TV that her brother-in-law was engaged in dangerous and illegal activities, the least she could do is substantiate her claims. What better avenue for this than cooperating with the investigation?

    Maybe most of you are too young to remember this rip off by McShame and Charles Keating ?
    Go to your search engine and type in Keating 5.
    You may be suprised how the new reformer use to think,before he was a reformer and trying to run for the white house.McCain's wife Cindy and her father had over $300,000.00 or so invested in Keating's saving and loan company,can you guess how much they lost when that company failed???

    Since we know the President isn't above the law, does a potential Vice President have more of a chance ?
    Lawfully issued subpoena's by a previously approved review group, and the Governor stated she would
    testify . Please... the Republicans are blowing up their own "bubble"

    Honestly, people, did we expect anything else from the Repubs? I have come to believe that there must be a genetic issue to explain why scandals attract Repubs, and vice versa.

    And McSame sending in his little attack dogs makes me believe, like others below, that there is truly a scandal of epic proportions brewing. It will be a goodie!

    Yesterday John McCain said if he were elected he would call for a commitee to be commisioned to look into the practices of Wall Street and the Banking industry but wants to shut down a commitee that is looking into the alleged abuse of power of his VP pick Sarah Palin. If I was being investigated and was innocent I would welcome a speedy investigation to clear my name, but if you have something to hide you want to drag it out as long as possible hoping it will go away with legal manuvering.

    That old saying "Thou doth protest too much".. fits perfectly in this case. McCains high powered legal team is trying to squash any investigation whatsoever. If Ms. Palin is as innocent as she claims, and she has the facts to back herself up, why are they running scared?? When this first came out and she thought it would be taken care of by the hand picked Personnel Board who obviously owe her, she said "Hold me accountable" Now that it has been moved to a bipartisan committee, she refuses to cooperate and her lawyers who are being paid by McCain's campaign are trying their best to sweep this under the rug. They are convincing me more and more each day of her dirty hands. By the way, where is Sara hiding now???

      Scary isn't it! Ever since Dems took Congress oil prices doubled, millions of Americans lost their jobs, the DOLLAR tanked, the housing market tanked, and 150+ year old financial institutions FELL TO THE GROUND.

    What are they trying to hide. If they manage to stop this investigation, will the American people only learn what the truth is after the election? What if they win and she has really done someting bad? Let's find out now what is going--not later!

    Also, does anyone kniow what books she wanted banned from the town library while she was mayor?

    Prettylady needs to take her rose colored glasses off. If this investigation concerned a male candidate, you can bet they be stringing him up by his b***s.. But because it's a female, we all have to walk on eggs and be careful not to ruffle all the people who are going to start crying "sexism" once again.

    Why are they blocking the investigation if she has done nothing wrong and has nothing to hide? A member of her own party from her hometown nonetheless cast the tie-breaker vote to issue the subpoenas. It will be a sad day indeed if Americans vote for a ticket with a VP candidate currently undergoing an ethics investigation, and it may still be ongoing when we cast our ballots since they have lawyers involved. What is wrong with this country? I think you see what is wrong. I wonder what financial disaster is next. Chalk another one up to eight years of Republican leadership. Yet 50% of Americans are ready to usher in four more. Unbelievable.

    this just reeks of guilty by denial. Looks like the Bush adminstration all over again in Alaska, stonewallign any attempts to figure out the facts. If there is nothing to hide, it shouldn't matter who reviews the case because there shouldn't be anything to find. However, by the way this is playing out, Palin wants the personnel board to review the ethics violation because they are her people and not a bipartism group. Palin is causing the Americna people to question her authenticity and her appeal is going down. I declare shenanigans.
