    Also just last week, a former Sergeant of Layfayette Ga Police Department police officer and estranged husband of a 911 dispatcher who disappeared in March 2007 was arrested and charged in the Georgia woman's murder even though her body has never been found.
    Sarah Palin should not have to have waited until her sister disappeared before she intervened in the trooper case. In the Foley case, Pennsylvania Trooper Kevin Foley lived with the estranged wife of a dentist who was viciously stabbed to death and thrown through the window of his own home less than two years ago. Pennsylvania State Trooper Foley specialized in homicide investigations and allegedly had been quoted as repeatedly stating in a State Police barracks break room in front of other State Troopers and supervisors as wishing that the dentist ex-husband would be killed in a car wreck or would otherwise die. Reportedly, his fellow state troopers did not take his threats seriously although they told him to stop making the threats against the now deceased dentist. Remember also in the Drew Peterson case, there were 18 eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to the Drew Peterson residence outside Chicago.

    In the eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to his home, Drew Peterson was never arrested or charged by his fellow officers with whom he worked. The only person ever charged by his fellow officers in all of Petersons domestic violence cases was his now deceased former third wife. Any investigation into the conduct of her ex-brother-in-law trooper by his own department, the Alaska State Police and Pubic Safety Commissioner, should have been viewed with the same skepticism as the eighteen separate investigations into the conduct of Drew Peterson by his fellow officers. It clearly can be argued that the prudent course of action was for Governor Sarah Palin to intervene given the almost near universal blue wall of silence that often prevents investigation of police misconduct by their fellow officers, superiors, and even other outside law enforcement agencies.

    It is no coincidence that the original revelations of police misconduct from the Rodney King beating to CBS News Katie Couric recent expose on corruption in Chicago City Police drug task force involves independent third party actual video camera documentation of misconduct produced by non-police sources and includes separate incidents of beating up of innocent bar patrons and a female bartender by the officers involved. Chicago Police Officer Keith Herrera has gone public and admitted his involvement. A Chicago Police officer implicated was audiotaped conspiring to murder his fellow officers to prevent further investigation of wrongdoing that included multiple and systematic thefts of drugs and money from drug dealers and falsification of police reports and sworn affidavits. The revelation of misconduct did not come from so-called good officers coming forward to report on the misconduct of their co-worker fellow officers. Only when there is independent non-police produced videotape footage documenting police misconduct or dead bodies happen to turn up as in the Atlanta wrongful drug bust and shooting murder of a 92 year old grandmother Kathryn Johnston in her own home, does a successful investigation and prosecution go forward.

  • Posted By: mccainsupporter @ 09/22/2008 3:56:11 PM

    With Sarah Palin sister there will not likely be any videotape of misconduct and no bodies will be found because an intervention did take place so it not likely that any of her brother-in-laws co-worker Alaskan State Troopers are going to come forward on their own to document any misconduct. Sarah Palin should not have had to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened.

    Eleven domestic violence related deaths in five different states involving five different sworn law enforcement officers is more than enough reason for Governor Sarah Palin to not have had to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened. Alaska in the winter is a big state in which it is easy for someone to disappear or a suspicious car accident to occur. In light of the recent eleven murders of spouses and girlfriends by police officers in five other states, any alleged intervention by Governor Sarah Palin involving her ex-brother-in-law was not unethical or unreasonable, rather it was probably the more prudent course of conduct. Sarah Palin should not have had to wait until her sister disappeared or died in a mysterious car accident before she intervened.

    If you think that the blue wall of silence is only present at the state and local level, Sarah Palin and John McCain will really shake things up. Look at convicted former FBI agent Robert Hanssen the son of a Chicago Police Officer who is now serving a life sentence without parole for spying for the Russians for over twenty-two years. Arrested in 2001, Hanssen was never caught by his fellow FBI agents. It took a seven million dollar bribe to a defecting former KBG agent to learn that Robert Hanssen had been spying for the Russians for twenty years. CIA Officer Aldrich Ames also spied for the Russians undetected for ten years and was paid nearly paid five million by Russian KGB for his treason. As true mavericks, Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin will not be afraid to address police misconduct at the federal level as well the state and local level.

    I am a Pro Choice republican but even I draw the line at babies who are BORN! Obama wants to kill them, where doctors strangle the babies that are born alive during abortions. Pretty disgusting stuff, even for a Democrat to believe in!

    After watching the Charles Gibson Interview, I noticed that Governor Palin's House was built 5-7 years ago. That was when she was a member of the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission. That Commission was responsible for overseeing VECO. VECO is the Oil and Gas Servicing Company that paid for the Remodeling of Senator Ted Steven's house in Girdwood. Girdwood just happens to be located at the other end of the Railroad that was on the Wasilla earmark. So. . . was VECO involved in building the Lakefront Home?

    Or am I just a conspiracy nut.

    After watching the Charles Gibson interview, I was wondering if the house Palin lives in was built about 5 years ago, wasn't that when she was a member of the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission. That Commission just happens to oversee VECO which is the Oil Field Services Company that remodeled Ted Steven's house in Girdwood. Which just happens to be at the other end of the Railway that was the biggest earmark for Wasilla.

    Any connection?

    Each time I read a new "Troopergate" story, I keep coming back to the same thought. Do we expect our government representatives to be held accountable in the same fashion regular american citizens? If any of us are subpoenaed in an investigation and we elect to ignore it, we would be held in contempt and most likely fined and/or jailed. We should all question whether or not we want to elect people, who are suppose to represent us, who use their power and position to skirt responsibility. Such behavior also leads one to believe that there may indeed be something to hide. This is a presidential team that is advocating governmental reform, change and accountability. We've all heard the old adage that actions speak louder than words, so what does hiding behind power and position to avoid accountability really tell us?

      We should ... and I think eight years of Bush and Cheney living above the law with zero consequences is quite enough.

        Republicans are the rich and pay 2/3 of the tax while 50% of the nation pay NO TAXES and the rest pay 1/3 to 1/2 of what their FAIR SHARE is.

        Democrats should go back to school, learn more, work harder and create your OWN SUCCESS. We're tired of covering your lazy asses!

          hey day trader, I've been investing in the market for 30 years and I heard that the economy tends to do better under a democratic administration. So I checked my annualized returns a found out that I make more mone by 2 to 3% when we have had democrats running the place.

      Yep he's losing and the Democrats are in PANIC MODE!

      They even have the nerve to start making excuses for why he will lose. RACISM!

      It has NOTHING to do with the fact that he has no experience, he has dozens of shady dealings with terrorists, multiple FELONS, and even connections with Sadam Hussein. It has NOTHING to do with him not doing his job (voting PRESENT at most votes vs taking a side).

      It has nothing to do with his moronic policies that will tax the rich and ultimately cost the poor and middle class their jobs, higher prices, higher inflation, higher interest rates, higher mortgage costs and car payments.

      LOL Democrats are true morons!

    John McCain knew that Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac would collapse, and thereby unjustly burden the American public!

    In 2005, Senator John McCain cosponsored the Federal Housing Enterprise Reform Act to regulate the powers and procedures of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.

    These 2 massive federal finance agencies had been operating without controls in a blatant irresponsible manner, and had been found guilty in court of falsifying financial records and statements in order to provide supposed justification for bonuses to be given to their higher echelon administrators.

    These 2 organizations had been coerced by Democrats, who because of political opportunism, wanted them to grant mortgages to individuals who would be unable to make their required monthly payments. That would be in accordance with the irresponsible Democrat belief that everyone should be entitled to have their own home, irrespective of their actual ability to afford that luxury.

    Both of these mortgage lending institutions have contributed massive financial sums to support the political aspirations of Chris Dodd and Barack Obama.

    Senator John McCain realized 3 years ago that fraudulent transactions were rampant within these 2 enterprises, and that they would soon collapse if remedial action was not undertaken. Their bankruptcy would result in the American taxpayers having to go into debt to resurrect or ???bail-out??? these fraudulent Congress protected entities.

    As was to be expected, this proposal to institute meaningful financial reform measures was obstructed by the Democrats in the Senate, and the proposal failed to be adopted.

    This year, due to the Democrat furor over the collapse of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, the American taxpayers are burdened by having to pay a minimum of 450 billion dollars to ???bail out??? these 2 recklessly managed lending companies.

    John McCain exposed and opposed the corrupt lending practices of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. Barack Obama ???milked the system??? and profited by obstructing reform of their corrupt lending practices.

    Democrats have demonstrated that they can wreck the mortgage industry.

    Are you willing to vote them into office, and give them a blank check to mismanage the American economy, security, and health care?

      Mr. Davole;

      John McCain IS an insider. People in Washington envy him his entrenched position. He lived to be an S&L scam artist, to pad his position and his wallet. He already cost American 3.2 Billion with Keating and got his perfunctory slap on the wrist. He is a good old boy. You're hot air.

        You are bringing up something he was cleared of 20+ years ago.

        But you also NEGLECT that in 2005 he was RIGHT about Freddy and Fanny Mae but DEMOCRATS wouldn't listen and squashed this bill.

        Mc Cain was right, Obama and other dumb Democrats were wrong and now all of us taxpayers have to pay. When will this country smarten up and vote the moron Democrats out!

        • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 09/20/2008 3:21:26 PM

          2005? You mean when the republicans still had control of the house, the senate, and the presidency? That 2005?

  • Posted By: pateagle @ 09/18/2008 4:53:43 PM

    George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was good. About the time Obama was elected to the US Senate and the Dems became the majority in Congress two years ago:
    1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 yr. high;
    2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
    3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%;
    4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
    5) Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacationing overseas, living large!...

    But Americans wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a DemocraticCongress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right!.....
    1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
    2) Gasoline is now nearly $4 gallon and climbing;
    3) Unemployment is up over 5%.
    4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION & prices are still dropping;
    5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure;
    and
    6) THE DOW is probing another low~~11,300--$2.5 TRILLION HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS! YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE GOT IT!!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK WE CAN STAND???

    OBAMA/BIDEN = Please no more change, we can't afford it!

    Has Barack Obama passed a drug test lately?

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 09/18/2008 9:00:13 PM

      If anyone is going to take a drug test, perhaps it should be you.

      Eveything in this country was great for the first six years of the Bush administration. Are you serious? Most republican's don't even believe that.

      But if you repeat it over and over again, maybe it will come true.

      • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 09/19/2008 11:49:58 AM

        I believe it because if you take out the illegal immigrants from the income survey white American's incomes after inflation are UP 9.6% !!!!

        That's HUGE and yet nobody reports it. What they report is the statistic that includes MILLIONS of low income illegal immigrants in it that take away the gains we as a nation had. Pure BS.

        • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 09/20/2008 3:16:44 PM

        Obama is buying people's votes. They should bring back the IQ test for people to vote. If you are a total MORON then you shouldn't have a vote. That's why America is failing, bad leadership voted in by complete DUMB A$$es!

            People who create jobs, pay a fortune in taxes each year we shouldn't count more than some dumb ass riding the bus who doesn't even know what a CMO is and how it CAUSED our financial mess!

            LOL lets let the dummies vote and continue to ruin our country.

            I'd also put IQ tests on the candidates and under 135-140 you can't run!

            Both Obama and Mc Cain wouldn't be up there. Hillary either.

            Probably Romney and Guilliani would be only ones on the Democratic side and Bill Clinton was one of the few on the Democratic side that could pass this standard!

              Yo bubba, for the record, people with high IQ's never brag about it - sort of comes with having a high IQ. Same thing with being rich.

          Being a day trader is not the same as being a small business owner - since you are such an expert on taxes, check the IRS regulations on that one.

          Also, the number of people not paying taxes in this country is not 50%, the number is closer to 40%, And that number includes people under the age of 21 who still iive at home or go to college, retired people on social security, and rich republican bastards who either find enough loop holes not to pay taxes or move all their assets offshore to avoid taxes altogether.

          So the number of poor people loafing around eating bon-bons is much. mcuh lower.

    You know, I'm not sure why we even have a court system in the United States. The Republicans have made clear that participation in court and congressional proceedings is purely voluntary. Wouldn't it save a lot of money in our state and federal budgets if we just eleiminated this expense? Then people could just settle their differences the way that they did in the old days -- with their guns. That's why we have a Second Amendment, isn't it?

      I don't think it is true - not because Obama would not consider a woman from Iran for such a position - but because he is focused on winning the election. I doubt he has give much thought to anything other than winning the election.

      Personally, I find your statement racist and offensive. I know a number of people from Iran, all of whom love this country just as much as anyone can.

      The White House is just a name - it does not mean the president, vice president, staff and cabinet members all have to be lily white. This country was founded on diversity - remember? I just read an article which stated all the people subpoenaed for troopergate were a no show. I believe the US citizens have a right to know prior to the election. Since Palin was open to the investigation originally and now she is not. I AM going to assume she is guilty and I will NOT vote for her.

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 09/20/2008 2:45:34 PM

      I agree, especially when a fellow republican representing Sarah Palin's home town cast the swing vote to move forward with the subpoenas. What possible justification can they give for not showing up?

      I think they should throw all of them in jail, including the First Dude.

      Of course, as an Obama supporter, I hope the republicans keep doing what they are doing. Anyone who is truly on the fence as to who to vote for in November is not going to be happy with this stone walling, There is no way the McCain campaign is going to spin their way out of this.

      The smartest thing to have done was continue to assert she is innocent of any wrong doing and let the investigation take its course. Then wait and see if the investigation changed at all - if the scope was suddenly increased, if time tables changed, then the republicans could have cried foul and pushed the investigation out past the election - with popular public support.

      But McCain's staff jumped the gun on this one. Either because there is something to hide or because they just didn't think things through. Either way, it is good for Obama.

    Basically the media - liberals who can't help themselves with the facts - are making something of nothing. This person who is in question was not performing his job and was offered a job in Alaskan government that could utilize his talents. The person left government on his own accord. The police officer (trooper) is still working as a trooper. This is a very simple story - sensationalized by the lies of Broken Obama - who hates all Alaskans.

      So your definition of being fired is leaving a job on your own accord? Republican spin at its best!

      You're the one who needs some help with the facts.

    The "I am in love" with Obama media has totally and completely blown this entire affair out of proportion to serve their own interests. Media basically wants America to be "weak on defense", "weak on family values", "weak on support of women given their slam on Hillary Clinton". The owners of the media have a definite bias which is there basically to be as outrageous as they can. Michael Isikoff is a poor blogger at best.

      The old, tired, "blame the media" mantra.

      This investigation was started well before anyone outside of Alaska even knew who Sarah Palin was. And at the time, she was completely in favor of it, because she said she did no wrong. And who knows, she could be absolutely right, she could be completely innocent of any wrong doing.

      Then she was made McCain's running mate. Since then, the investigative committee has continued as it had always planned. The scope of the investigation hasn't changed, the time table for completing the investigation hasn't changed, but now all of a sudden it isn't fair. Republican hypocrisy never ends.

      Either the McCain campaign properly vetted Sarah Palin or they didn't. If they did, then would have known the investigation was happening, that Sarah Palin had gone on record of being in favor of it, and that it was scheduled to be concluded in October, just before the elections. And if they knew all that and decided the risk was acceptable, then they can't complain now. And if they did not properly vet Sarah Palin, then that is their fault, and they still can't complain now.

      Of course, all the republican's will cry that the investigation has suddenly become political and can't possibly be fair. But the only support I can find for that opinion is a general assumption that just because she is now the republican VP candidate by default it can't be fair. No one has been able to point out any specific actions or statements by the investigative committee to support this position. As a matter of fact, a fellow republican, representing her home town, cast the swing vote to move forward with the subpoenas. Do you really think he would have cast that vote if he thought the investigation was a political sham? Thank goodness that at least one republican still has his ethics.
