Interesting Moniker "Ron Paul For Pope"! I agree, just go to trial, and let the chips fall where they may.

If it sounds rotten and smells rotten, it probably is. Even if Palin is absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, innocent of any wrongdoing then why send a Republican SWAT team to Alaska to mop up her mess? This was, of course, part of the "we didn't properly vet Palin" team, no doubt. How can we even think about electing such a questionable candidate (who, by the looks of it, can't even spell such a simple word as 'disdain') to, potentially, the highest office in the land? She's got more skeletons in her closet than you'd see in a Tim Burton movie.
I believe that Wooten is the scum that the Palins say he is.
That's no reason NOT to cooperate with the investigation. In fact, go with it. If you're innocent, you've got Nov. 4 locked up!
But say that you won't cooperate because the investigation is run by your political opponents, and you lose my vote. Those kinds of shenanigans are vintage Bush Administration, and not what I want for the next four years.
If there really is a conflict of interest here, make that case during the investigation. Don't avoid it, and try to claim "executive privilege". You're not there yet.
Yes, you certainly are a lawyer! Why do you care? Contingence fee?
Bush was safely stateside during Viet Nam, thanks to his daddy. Cheney avoided service altogether. None of their privileged offspring have seen combat. Yet these men have sent over 4,000 of America's (mostly lower-income) sons and daughters to fight and die in Iraq. These two brave men were determined to start that war as soon as they reached the white house, using 9/11 and non-existent WMD as their excuse. They insulted the families of 9/11 victims by doing their best to stop the 9/11 commission, then made sure it was underfunded (considerably more money was spent in one day on Bush's "Mission Accomplished" photo op). Never mind their abuse of executive privilege. I think I let them off easy when I called them "monsters."
Why are they trying to block the investigation if she has nothing to hide and has done nothing wrong? This investigation began two months before she was put on the ticket, and a member of her own party from her hometown voted to issue the subpoenas. There is no political agenda here. But if the American people are stupid enough to cast a vote for someone currently under an ethics investigation, and the investigation may well still be ongoing when we cast our ballots, that will be a sad day, indeed.
Or self loathing.
To the "Duck Man" - Monsters, really? My, aren't you full of hatred!
Oh Please, Newsweek - "Troopergate"??? Perhaps I should start "Newsweekgate".
Your magazine is so obviously pro Obama, why are you called "mainstream media"?
We need to know who we are voting for. This whole issue was on the table before Palin was picked by McCain. Shame on you McCain for putting your election ahead of the country just like Nixon did. I smell BIG time cover-up of abuse of power or there would not be such fear to let it go through to completion.
I thought Palin's original intent to cooperate with the investigation, led by a bipartisan group that began before her selection as McCain's VP nominee, was a good sign that she was innocent of any wrong-doing. Now, I am not so sure. If it were me, I wouldn't care who was leading the investigation. If I know I am innocent, and have nothing to hide, then I would want to get it moving quickly and establish my innocence, especially now that the whole country is aware of it. Suing to stop the investigation just makes her look guilty, and, worse, makes her look more like Bush and Cheney: 1. Don't confuse me with the facts. 2. Executive privilege means that the rule of law does not apply to me. She is emulating the monsters she and McCain are trying to distance themselves from.
Let the record show that you have responded to my posts on other topics in the last week. It's in reading your replies to other comments that has provoked me.
PhoenixAZ: (from Chino Valley AZ). Appreciate all you've had to say, but think you're wasting time engaging this "reality challenged" kook, loriw. My grandpa used to say, "Boy, you'll do well not to get into a pissin' contest with a skunk".
"A state contractor, who Branchflower declined to identify by name, and who handled the workers'-comp claim, testified that her boss had told her "something to the effect that either the governor or the governor's office wanted this claim denied," the special counsel said. Okay, this woman scares me!!!!!!!! not only did she fire Monegan, but she also had his workman's comp claim denied. This is VINDICTIVE, and SCARY....
Ok
O
Why do all these politicians think they don't have to follow the law? If you or I didn't respond to a subpoena we would go to jail. It is that simple. Why is she above the law? Why do the you have to jump to her defense. Just because she is a Republican? That's not a good enough reason. If it were the Democrats you would be all over this. So stop the hypocricsy! She should have no extra privileges. I wish people would educate themselves on the facts. The inquiry actually was started before she was even picked for VP and it was a bipartisan panel that voted in favor of the inquiry! 3 Republicans and 2 Democrats voted to go forward to see if she did something against the ethics rules!
Some people are so blinded by Republican partisanship that they will believe any lie that makes Obama look bad. Go to a NONPARTISAN site like factcheck.org to get the TRUTH! Obama never send any attorneys to Alaska. It did not happen. I'm sure people that want Obama to win have been digging around into their backgrounds JUST LIKE people who want McCain to win are doing the exact same thing to Obama and Biden!
That ad about Obama sending people to Alaska have been found, along with most of McCains other ones, to be either straight out lies like this one or half truths and distortions! Before you get all riled up with anger maybe you should actually look for the truth and not from a Republican ad, blog or the like. From a true nonpartisan source. The country would be the better for it if people would try to think for themselves and stop believing all this nonsense.
"A state contractor, who Branchflower declined to identify by name, and who handled the workers'-comp claim, testified that her boss had told her "something to the effect that either the governor or the governor's office wanted this claim denied," how scary is that? Palin is interfering with a man's ability to receive worker's compensation, AFTER she had him fired, for not doing her bidding!!!!SHE IS SO VINDICTIVE!
The facts are redily available to anyone who cares to read them. at some point its going to come down to this.... people will have to make a choice between a lying imbicile, and a black man; who do you think they will choose????????
To LORIW. You are ONLY 1 vote. Thank G-d because you appear to be more of a big mouth snippy attempt at knowing something valuable as Sarah Palin. Are you a bitbull too? Sorry but your are provoking me. By the way that was not a compliment. Don't care what your political party is, you're scary.
Phoenix AZ: I am a 2nd vote for McCain/Palin!!! I am sure there are alot more!!!
That's OK. We will see how the debates go. Then decide.
I am sure the debates will go just fine!!
Phoenix AZ: I am a 3rd vote for McCain/Palin
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/McCain_temper_boiled_over_in_92_0407.html
If you go to youtube and type in McCain loosing his cool, you will see McCain screaming at a woman and bringing her to tears. This is who you are ready to vote for?
They have something to hide.
We now have evidence of what lies ahead should these two individuals take office. how on earth can any of this be justified??
Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you ***." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
The man who was known as "McNasty" in high school has erupted in foul-languaged tirades at political foes and congressional colleagues more-or-less throughout his career, and his quickness to anger has been an issue on the presidential campaign trail as evidence of his fury has surfaced.
Funny how people ignore from the ex the: (1) threat to the 1st couple's father (2) tazer a 10 year old child . And from the commissioner: (1) his 1st wife (an ER doctor) filed for a restraining order against him b/c he threatened to throw her body in the Alaska river... 4 times and dislocated her shoulders from "playing" around. (2) He said that Gov Palin's team never actually said to "fire" the ex. before she became a VP nominee...
did you not read what i had to say about your "funny" posting? i can't imagine you were not aware of this
I don't condone abuse of power (which many officers have done, especially to their wives) from ANY officials. If my father is threaten, be sure I'll have my husband go demand for a dismissal of the trooper. But b/c Palin is a gov, she lost her rights as a citizen? Palin will be right this wrong in the end... but in the mean time, let's have Obama's lawyers at it.
The ex is not the one who was fired. The issue is not over the character of the ex it is about the abuse of power. The ex was punished for the taser thing, there is no evidence that he threatened anyone. Stop listening to Fox. They just interviewed the guy on the news and it wasn't FOX! Furthermmore if she is soooo right then why wouldn't she cooperate? Perhapes the big bad board composed of 8 Republicans and 4 Democrats is partisan?
