How many lies, distortions and proof of mismanagement needs to be exposed before
the voters realize what a fraud this woman is??
Mccain threw away what little integrity he had left by picking this unqualified,
abusive hocky mom as a vp.
Do believe the media/ap needs to be more active in exposing all the
dishonorable, sleeze tactics of these republicans.

Despsite all the evidence to support the premise that Palin is just not VP material and that McCain has no notion of how to fix our economy since he cannot see that a real problem exist, there are so many Americans who would rather risk the economical devestation of our country than to vote for an African American; and the irony is that most of these individuals will swear they are not "racist". If the lessor of two evils favor Obama, then it is obvious that the line is strongly forming for evil.

Comella and Menzis need to watch their backs. The wickid witch of the North will see that they are soon unemployed if they cross her. That is standard operating procedure for her. Sinister sister Sarah will be back in Alaska ni January and she will be ticked off so look out.

Gee, more lies from a Republican candidate to higher office, who's surprised?

When does information like this begin to seep into the public's awareness? It seems that relatively few potential voters spend much time reading internet atricles, and there are several like this one that reflect very poorly on Gov. Palin. I know public sympathy for Katrina victims, who could have really benefitted from this money, would give this story traction. Will the major news outlets pick up on the story of the "Road to Nowhere?" -- Maybe after Newsweek publishes this in their weekly magazine... I can only hope.

    Excellent investigation!
This kind of fact checking can derail the so called 'Straight talk express' when it comes to hypocisy.
The McCain startegy since the VP pick has been to push lies and exagerations hoping no one would notice and debunk them before election. He might have gotten away with them if he did not make them the core of his new campaign of 'reform'.

The Sarah Palin selection has to be the biggest political stunt ever pulled on the American people. Hopefully our citizens have grown enough to see through this horrible gimmick.

Each candidate made their first decision as the leader of their Party; selecting a running mate. This choice speaks volumes about the candidates. Obama picked Joe Biden; a man supremely qualified to be Vice President, in fact, he will most likely prove to be one of the finest Vice Presidents in U.S. history. And who did McCain pick? Sarah Palin...I think we all know that if her name were "SAM PALIN" she wouldn't be allowed any where near a vice presidential nomination with her modest qualifications.

Obama picked one of the most qualified people available and McCain picked someone based solely on gender. Wow. That says a lot about these two candidates.

Unbelievable. Palin is a bigger liar than even George W Bush. Somebody call Guiness Book of World Records!!!!

This is now a lie within a lie. She lied about the bridge and failed to mention the road. The thing that's most disturbing to me is that Palin has no moral compass. She is completely motivated by self-interest. She never makes a morality-based decision around anything but being anti-choice. She's George Bush in drag. She would ruin this country in 6 months with the help of the first dude who seems to be making executive decisions. She just has to be stopped.

Now is the time for Gov. Palin to show off her economic qualities that the rebplicans keep saying she is qualified to be VP because she is a Gov. & managed a budget.... should she be out stomping NOW about her economic plans ?? i mean McCain wont last the whole 4 yrs. i'm guessing so i figure the ppl voting for him is really voting for her to be president..... Now is the time for her to show off her so called skills....

no wonder he is keeping her under wraps.. ( they cant afford no mistakes ).. i'm sure she has a new script to read about the economics woes of the nation....

This is really a once in a life time opportunity for S. Palin. I do not believe she has the credentials to be a Vice-President who is a heart beat away from a very old John McCain. I do not think she could go toe to toe with the likes of Mitt Romney, Huckabee or even Ron Paul. Here's my prediction, as more things come out about her, the American public will recognize her to be a very dangerous version of George Bush, intellectually challenged, stubborn and always wanting to even the sore (Saddam tried to kill my daddy - GWB). The post convention bounce has crashed. It's a long way down. After this election is lost, she will got back to Alaska an finish an un-remarkable first term. Her star power is over. The GOP are only using her for this moment.. And when they are done, she'll be cough up and split aside. It's the beginnig of the end.

Palinism: Politics as The Content-Free Violation of Expectation

    What is Palinism?

    What is it about?

    What policies?

    What ideas?

    What positions?

Even in the Lincoln-Douglas debates, while no doubt many were motivated by regional partisanship, local prejudices, and "the measure" of the candidate, one suspects that at least a rough rendering of the issues--secession vs. Union, free vs. enslaved--was carried in and animated the crowds.

Now, it is pure reaction to pattern. To one impulse expectation--the bland suited form--violated by the provocation of another impulse: a novel one. Irrespective of qualifications--blind to them, the freedom of being purposely so-- the impulse simply feels new, gleeful, aggressive--it simply feels good.

We have reached the content-free phase of American politics.

A form, an image--glasses, hair, a voice, what it suggests--is enough. She could be speaking the words to the airport timetable, the swearing-in speech of Ferdinand Marcos, the ingredients of a
box of Sizzlean--the image, the sound, and the gathering impulse, the bare stirring from dull lack of novelty--is sufficient to awaken the crowds to angry perturbance at...the stimulus to be perturbed, and the bare sense of actual directed action and purpose that comes with doing so.

Palin herself wears a glazed, slightly confused look in her eyes--bewildered at what it is that has unleashed this roar, this approbation. Being used to herself, and having been among those who are well used to her, she is unaware of the novelty that her mere form releases in the dazed electorate, yearning for a pretext for expression. Soon, she'll believe it herself.

And, after all, isn't that what democracy is all about? The ability to choose to decide without knowledge? Better yet, to choose your knowledge, irrespective of fact, in correspondence with the liberating, confirmation-free impulse?

This is what today's moment stands for.

These are our satisfactions and securities in this golden age.
