I cannot agree with you people more. Every one of you is right and I sometimes think I am alone in my thinking. I am 63, a white male engineer, Vietnam veteran, working in PR China. As a foreign resident I am often asked by my Chinese colleagues what the hell is going on in the USA. In many cases I can point to the MBA schools that seem to train people in ways to avoid the laws, to make unethical decisions. In other cases, as RangerDan points out, it seems that people are paid for making stupid choices. Is it any wonder that immigrants believe they can do better that the current US citizens? What can I say? Has my country betrayed its citizens any more or less than this one has? I am a direct descendant of the first man to die at sea in the American Revolution and I feel my church (Episcopal) and my country have taken the wrong road. And none of the people that made these choices can be held accountable for them, can they? All I hear are excuses. Yes, Ameriscot, the people responsible should be jailed for bank fraud. But they won't, will they?Despicable.

Think about it.. There bonuses.. Our money.. LOL! What a great concept. Hmm.. I wonder if I would be arrested for stealing this Mercedes Benz owned by one of these POLITICAL FRANKS. Sure I would. It's my money why should I be?

This debacle is the reason that social security should never, ever be "privatized." The little that would be set aside for the average American worker's retirement would end up in the hands of the super wealthy, such as those in this article, people who long ago forgot the ethics necessary to make capitalism a viable, national economic structure. When wealth and power become ends rather than means, we're all sunk.

I say that each CEO that is the current or immediate past CEO and well as all the top execs and the Board Chairman must pay back everything they got in their parachute before the company can draw down a dime of my tax dollar. Where is the enforcer? Oh, that's one of Alberto Gonzalez" political buddies, the US Attorney.

I feel as if these fraudsters, crooks, slime ball should be put in prison... These so called well educated idiots knew what they were doing... They should all have to give EVERY PENNY of their stilen bonus towards these bailouts.... Why should we have to be responsible for their stealling .. I mean really, they screwed up the whole economy , but yet get rewarded with mega bonuses..Their bonuses alone would probably cover @ least half of the bailouts...They are no different than the crooks and liars in Washington D.C...

Can any of you hackers send these bits of wisdom to these morons as a worm?

Wake-up people! The U.S. Congress caused this mess and is allowing the Federal Reserve, a non-governmental branch (BANKS!!!!), to throw our money at the problem. Ask yourself... why this didn't happen before? It's because Republicans and Democrats, over the last 12 years lifted the safeguards, put in place in the financial industry to avoid another Great Depression, so leading money would be easier and more lucrative for them and the lobbyists (banks and other corporations) who put them in office. Who is telling you to hate corporate CEOs? The government! The U.S. citizens fell for the oldest confidence game; fraudulent scheme. They just handed over their money and bought the bridge to nowhere. So now the so-called "governmental corporate investigations" are misleading the people, as if they are going after the executives of these companies, and are looking into investors. By the way... that's you and me.

This is just another fear tactic to get you to side with them the same way they wanted us to hate the oil companies. The CEOs have a contract with the shareholders and a deal is a deal. In the end we should be focusing all our "hate" energy on the U.S. Representatives who allowed this to happen while they sat on their asses because of an election. This is a marketing perception game between the U.S. Government and Global Corporations, and the American People. Please do as much reading as you can on both sides of the issue to see through their BS. Both parties are one and they are riding the greed train to the top 1% with our hard-earned time and money.

I feel that they should have to put ALL of their bonuses towards the buyout. Why should the average taxpayer be responsible for their fraud and stupidity? If I defrauded someone and was caught I would be put in jail.. So should they.. These are WELL educated people (supposedly) and you try tell me that they didn't know what they were doing? B.S.......It just goes to show FRAUD (wall) Street is no different than the idiots up in Washington, D.C.. The majority are underhanded, crooks, liars, and don't give a d**** about the average Joe....They should be imprisoned for what they allowed to happen...

If your not going to hang them, at least take them out behind the wood shed---didn't their daddy's teach them not to steal? I hope they choke on their caviar.

It's America where everyone steals and charges $8 bucks for 4 rolls of toilet paper. I just saw that at Publix, and my mouth was wide open. I live in Jacksonville and have a wife and two children and make about 52K per year. We can't even afford food to put on the table. Our Electric Bill is $265 bucks, and AT&T Internet is $145 bucks, and $40 bucks for gas 5 times per month, and $205 bucks for Insurance, $850 bucks for an apartment, and $335 bucks for a car payment. Over $14,000 dollars per year is taken out of our taxes already. Why don't I just cut you Jokers another Check.

Why is it that a so-called Democracy can use my hard-earned tax dollars in a way that does not meet with my approval nor my better judgement? People say I can excercise my right by voting in someone that is better than what we have. I say that method has been tried before and we still can't get anyone in office that has so much as a notion of what oversight and accountability are. None of these crooks should get a dime nor should any of their failed businesses.

I believe they are all crooks who knew exactly what they were doing. They have to be held accountable for creating such a disaster. Their actions have almost created a catastrophe for the American economy, and probably still will. Whatever they were compensated they should be made to give it back and then go to prison. I believe it was all done in the name of greed!

Does this include the CEO of Fannie Mae that was Obama's buddy that was used by Obama to vett his Vice Presidential choice?

It's america.. The country that scams everyone, and charges $8 bucks for 4 rolls of Toilet paper. Just saw that at Publix yesterday. What a damn scam. Now we have a crashed economy with more Jack's running the country. Bush is the administration is on there side don't let them fool you. Yeah.. We make 52K per year, live in Jacksonville and I have a wife and two kids, and we can't even afford to put food on the table. Our average light bill is $285 bucks, Gas is $45 bucks every trip, and AT&T for the internet is $145 bucks. They are scamming everyone. They make over $8 billion a year. Take there money, and throw them in the street.

IF YOUR NOT GOING TO HANG EM AT LEAST TAKE THEM OUT BEHIND THE WOOD SHED FOR STEALING.

These people are nothing more than educated criminals that held a high office. Each HAD A DUTY in that position to call a regulator or to say wait a minute, something is wrong Yet, seemingly, none did. Each sold out everything, obviously, for personal gain. This is sad-very sad. When is enough enough? Where is love for country and fellow man on this planet??? Line thy pockets. Watch as the rest of the economy goes to hell. Here is one American tax payer and a registered voter that will be in touch with his Congressman and Senators. You, should be made to give that taxpayer money back. It isn't right. End of of post

Oh no, not the dreaded slap on the wrist and admonishment. And all I get is a measly 250 million. Like the bung hole that screwed up Home Depot, they'll become CEO of Chrysler. Today's CEO's seem like nothing more than slick talking hucksters that were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They're talentless, and know somebody, and that's the way they move up. American business is nothing compared to my father's day. There were values and a handshake was as good as a contract. Not with these slippery conmen. The mistakes made at Home Depot were so basic, I am awed by how simple some of these guys are.
